We we can wait for news of Barb and Crissy
I'm first!! kb
Thanks Debbie, think I copied the link before it's completion..
Had a late lunch, berry salad from Wendy's, delicious, shouldn't have had a baked tater though.
Thanks for the new thread Betty, waiting here too, to hear news on Barb!
Katie, do they expect you to drop what your doing and run right over for surgery. There is usually pre op the day or two before, with labs and such!
Put on a pot of coffee for everyone...wish you could join me on the deck, nice breeze going.
Trying to do some handquilting and keep on waiting for the phone to ring.
Just got home and thought I'd check in to see if there is news of Barb..waiting for SIL Suzanne to get here, will be helping her do more on her lamp..
Thea, am enjoying same breeze!
drats, 2 more young children drowned this week. Shaking my head..last one was n Wasaga..crowd formed human chain , found him, did cpr but he passed today..those poor parents.
Thea I would love some coffee and the cool breeze. We are having bad thunder and storms threatening to move in soon.
Another call from Kaiser confirmed that I'm on the surgery scheduling list. It will probably be a few months. I can call the scheduling people and get a better idea. They do give notcie of at least a few weeks before the surgery and there's a pre-op appt with the doctor, tests, and all that.
With plywood at $50 or more a sheet here it's worth it for me to make the trip to Ca. Especially if I get to cool off for a few days. And pick up medicine and other stuff. Must get insulation for the bedroom.
kb
Still nothing on Barb? My goodness!!! Bet Norm left the number at home or something!
Katie, better get that plywood before a hurricane is spotted or the price will go up US side too! Glad to hear you are still on the list. Hope it is soon for you.
I have had the hiccccccups for 2 hours. Driving me crazy. Tried all the water, sugar, spoon, you name it...tricks. I think licking an ice cream cone might help.
Yeah...that will work.
Debbie
Just received awesome news from Norm!!!
Barb was able to have the laparoscopic surgery!!! And her breathing after surgery was so good that she didn`t need the ventilator AND she did not had to go to ICU but straight to a regular room!!!!
AND she will be home tomorrow!!!
I am soooooooo happy right now, our prayers surely were heard!!!!
Now I can sleep tonight!!!
Love and many hugs
Thea
LK could you please post the news about Barb on the “other” website…thank you!!!
GREAT NEWS re: Barb!! I'll bet Norm was bouncing all over the place with excitement when he heard!! Thank you LORD!!
Katie - yes, buy plywood now......... but surely there's a lower price than that?!?!?!
Happy to hear you're "on the list"
Thea - we bought a coffee pot Just like that one - a percolator- for camping! Will use it for the 1st time this weekend.
Speaking of which.....
I won't be online after tonight either. Leave work early at Noon tomorrow, and then "hit the road" as soon as we can!!
Chat with you on Sunday eve, or Monday eve........ ciao all!!
Doing the happy dance, yes I am..bet they are so relieved to have it behind them..it's been a long tumultuous time for them...with breathing issues I'm so glad the doctor's decided to build her up before doing it. Know we all thought it should be dealt with a lot sooner than this but the Lord does know what he's domg..imagine, home tomorrow..yippee!
Debbie you are bad..lol. Go for it girl, ice cream cone is what will cure it..our remedy was swallow three times while holding our breath... old wives tales..
Susan, you enjoy your time away..you both need a stress free weekend..watch out for those bears.
Katie, I'm going to make a special call in to Timbrr just to see how much a sheet of plywood is..$50., het you take order for a truck load and I'll deliver..glas things are coming to an end re your operation, been an eternity of waiting as well
Gee Williams before we know it we'll all be as healthy as can be.
Touch wood, after taking those narcotics, tricking the mind, no more coughing, it was either that or my. 100 day cough was up time wise.
I have an uncle who is younger than I, estranged from his siblings, ie my mom..every once on awhile he calls..tonight was the night. He needs his knee replaced/rebuilt, not quite sure and has it scheduled in Belleville hospital so I thing as a good niece should I just might go and drop in, he'd be so pleased, then drop in and visit my cousin I was raised with, really like a brother, he'd be thrilled as well..he is near Trenton sooo I'm going to schedule a weekend and do it..
Suzanne just left, we got through the panels, need a roll of solder and if she comes on Sunday as she is hoping to do she'll have a lamp for her 65th ..
Well now that I know Barb is resting well I think I'll call it an early night..working from home tomorrow and have much on my to do list
Enjoy the evening all
Yay!!! So happy to come home to the news of Barb doing so well. Definitely a very happy news there!
And yes, I had ice cream! MIL always sends me a birthday card with $10...and that came today. So told DH "I will take you out, my treat" so we did! lol
Sadly, I got cold.....and dh had to finish it! lol It is actually chilly out! of course anything under 80 is chilly right now! lol
Debbie, same here, actually took my rag quilt off the chair and through it on me as it was cool watching tv! Isn't it grand. Lol
You've almost tempted me to go next door and buy one as well.
Hello To All !
THEA ! Thank you for the news on Barb.... and keeping us posted... YAY!
Katie - LOL on the knee but very scary story from Betty... might be a good plan. Glad they have you on schedule.
Judy LOL... PB&J is in New Orleans at the Le Pavillion. But the Holiday Inn Destin does serve free popcorn and free ice cream bars! "Make your own" sundaes on Sunday. it was a super place when the kids were younger they have lots of kid activities.
Oh Dianne... The Heat - yes with all the horrible news out there you have to wonder if it affects people...
Deb - so sorry about the birthday dinner... I'm with you... I rarely complain although I know I should but give a place a pass sometimes especially if they've served you well other times. I seem to always get the same exact thing at Cracker Barrell..omelet for b'fast and the roast beef for lunch... what do you get ?
I think sometimes I love Cracker Barrell because eating there makes me think I'm on vacation. We'd stop there on the way to the Grandparents house growing up. (The one in Tallahassee Marion!)
Yes Betty - All the kids will go to the reunion, also hoping DS's girlfriend can come...
Hubs made the best chicken & dumplings tonight. ((HUGS)) To all...
Mary
Mary, my Mom and I used to go there as a special treat. She would get the chicken & dumplings, and I would get either the country friend steak or the chicken strip salad. Then salad started making me sick. For breakfast I like the ones with grits...lol OK so they all come with grits! Uncle Hershals maybe?
Know the one in Tally really well Mary. That is one of the places we go (7 miles from our place) when the grandchildren get to decide. They had a very good shrimp and grits dish on the menu for awhile and I sure hated to see it go!!
Fantastic news about Barb. Now I think I will do like Betty and go to bed early for a change. My daughter and I have been watching a program on Net Streaming that was a BBC series and we got addicted...until 1am a couple of mornings!
Sound of soft rain on the roof so it is just perfect. Have a great night all.
That is great news about Barb! Thanks for letting us know! I will post it on the other room!
Wooo hooo! Like Thea I will rest a lot easier having heard Norm's news.
Morning all,
Will start with prayers fopr the victims I believe in Aurora, Colorado ( am hoping I have the place right). So far 14 dead, 50 injured, even a baby is believed to now be with the Lord..all at the movie theatre to watch batman..imagine, can't even comprehend how sick an individual must be to do such a thing!
Brrr it's cool out there this morning..
Furries want out, flowers asking for a spray of water
Be back in a bit
Oh my Betty...just read online about what has happened...my heart goes out to the family and friends of the victims. Adding my prayers to yours.
Like you I can not imagine why and how a person could do this to other human beings.
Cold here too...it went down to 50F last night!!!! Was so cold last night I put my warm PJ's on!!!
Dragging feet today, so I guess it will be a lazy day for me.
Hugs and love for everyone
Thea
We are in mid 60's here, with a breeze blowing. Actually was chilled taking DS to work. Overcast and rain expected this afternoon, looking forward to that.
I might have to go out and dance!!
So much to do today and I certainly do not feel like leaving the house. Got my registration renewed for van yesterday after waiting in line 40 minutes at DMV. Gave Isabelle a bath....and flea meds.
Debbie
Good Morning!
The most wonderful news reading how well Barbara is doing!! a huge smile ran across my face giving Thanks!!
Spent the day working at Huber...come home check the thread and mail...Finally, read the news and C a r a s h e d...woohoo, still doing a happy Dance.
Thea, thank you for letting us all know!
This morning, I'm headed back. Time is of the essence now, so can't wait for cooler weather any more. Still so much to do!!
I'm with you all, lol actually had goosebumbs!!
ohhh, I am fit to be tied!!! Someone has MY tablet, took the plug too...I'm sure it's in Breenies room.
Well, I guess that means, I better get cracking and deal with her later, Decided to extend the walk by the drive, other side of front of house, now it really ties the front together!!
Allright, going to yank some weeds, Have a great day...
Enjoy the day all.
I am off to San Antonio, you all have a great week end!
Lordy, everyone is up and running early this morning! I'm foiling Suzanne's stained glass pieces to help, looking at the hair on the floor should be vacuuming, gee those furries shed a lot..if it weren't for them I'd have no housework at all..tell you how lazy I am, had paper bowls/plates/cups from the gathering, been using them so no dishes..haven't cooked a meal in forever, can a person get much lazier?
Ohhh Judy, hide the tablet .. That is your personal contact with the world..drats, slap her fingers..great day for weed picking..
Thea can't believe I heard you say you will be.relaxing today..kudos to you..think you are in need of a day of just sitting! Feeling better now?
Debbie hat gong to DMV, line ups are atrocious ..how is the flea situation there? Am finding with the grooming and constant brushing Sailor is not pulling hair off her haunches..thrilled with that.
Am waiting to get dressed when I find out just how warm/cold it will be then I'll go cut down some of the gardens and do some deadheading..looking stragly out there.
All the furries are laying next to me, must be that kind of day !
Betty, the fleas are horrific! Julie at the dog shop was complaining. We need a VERY hard freeze this year. She said she has so many "clients" totally infested, several have needed vet treatment for flea allergies and discomfort.
I use baking soda on the rug....supposed to get rid of them there, and then vacuum up after 20 minutes.
Judy, that yard is going to be so beautiful when you get done. I hope you find your Tablet. I am having hard time adjusting to mine, really need to get the protector to it as I worry it is going to get scratched.
Well, need to get moving. I am just procrastinating big time this morning!!!
Debbie
Good morning. I'm up before Tony is here. But not by much. My bedroom wll is coming along well. The first set of shelves is back in place and getting filled up with fabric.
The a/c was on full last night and the temp was only down to 77 this morning. I really need insulation. Still thinking about going up to Ca. in a couple of weeks. Hard to even have the energy to plan. No sign of any tropical storms which also means little chance of rain.
Must try to wake up.
hugs, katie
Beautiful morning here...67! Unfortunately it will be heating up before much longer..yuck!
Debbie have you used Borax for the fleas? Plain old Mule Team Borax in the laundry department does wonders!!!! Works on roaches too. That is our problem at the moment--goes with living in a very natural setting and so much rain. Now if I could find a cure for the mosquitoes.
Well I am off to put some stain on the new shelves for the cupboards in the kitchen. If I can get them stained before the rains then they can be put inside to dry until they are no longer "tacky". I have tripped over kitchen items until I am so tired but then the rain has really slowed things up here.
Have a great day all.
Barb, if you should check in...take it easy and thinking of you. Thank goodness you got the easy surgery and all that is now behind you.
Much the same here Debbie, it's what I call a perfect day, sunshine, light breeze and the feel you just want to be lazy..did wash and spray was all the floors, about as much as I was to undertake today..just going to enjoy the day. Think Judy got the protective cover for hers..I'm sure when you get on with yours it will never leave your side!
Touch wood, not seeing signs of fleas but am seeing a lot of ant piles outside, guess its the dryness.
Katie, that's a good temp isn't it but guess as the day progresses it will heat up beyond endurance..we are getting a taste of weather you all put up with all year round..bet you are thrilled to have a lot of your to do list done..
My thoughts are with Crissy today...sure hoe all goes in her favor..
anybody see Suse on any of the threads, starting to fret she is not well.
Dianne, it's gorgeous out there, here is hoping you get to enjoy some time by the lake...lucky you!
Marion, good luck with the stain..I would imagine with the dampness/humidity it would take forever to dry..big job you are undertaking..Did you have new cupboards made?
Couldn't it wait though so you can play outside seeing temps are almost perfect for outdoor chores?? Or you could go a fishing. Lol
Yes, thinking of Crissy also. She has to be there for 1:30. Just a preliminary...nothing final. So step 1.
Debbie, could they if both parties agreed, move on to final ? Doesn't seem fair does it..
Know you gab, can you tell her just how much I'm thinking if her..
Mosquitoes to bad to work outside...need to run the mower over the leaves as they are the breeding grounds now. I love the magnolias in the yard but their leaves are the worst for retaining just enough water for a breeding ground. I guess that comes with a more natural habitat for a yard.
Actually the kitchen work is due to a burst kitchen pipe that flooded everything and it required some repair work. So I got quotes on putting more shelves in my cupboards that could be adjustable. I can't believe anyone would build cupboard with one 1 shelf per unit...well make that 2, one counting the bottom and another shelf half way up. Now I have plenty of adjustable shelves to contain mine and Kim's "junk". I am using a wiping stain so it goes quickly it is the drying process that can take awhile. I have an unfinished room downstairs we put them in with a fan so it isn't so bad.
Please when someone hears from Crissy, please let us know.
Marion, not sure why but didn't think you had many skitters, guess they breed in the humidity..they are not bad here this year, thankfully!
Sometimes mishaps tend to make upgrades..back porch clear overhand fell one spring ended up I got new verandah and overhang roof..you have an extra room Marion?? And it's not filled with craft materials
Oh Betty, we are have plenty of mosquitoes......why I mow leaves. The development I live in is a very natural habitat area and my lot has very little grass due to the heavy stand of trees. The leaves are our enemies!!!
Yes, I have what used to be a mother in laws suite that I have been trying to get finished for way to many years --sad to say but 6 years. My son was doing the work; however, his work schedule has gotten so busy and his children demanding more time that it just hasn't been completed. The bathroom has been redone and most of the main room has been done but what used to be the kitchen area isn't finished. That will be done next week..thank goodness. Kim and I refer to it as the "Dungeon" because the previous owners had done it all in a very dark browns. They are now gone being replaced with light brighter colors. It will be a crafting/guest room when finished.
Lot of reno's Marion but so gratifying when you see it done..sounds like a big home set in natural habitat, can't wait to see it..odd how some keep decor so dark..I love bright but can never bring myself to paint my rooms in brilliant colors..admire those who cam.
Just put corn on, sooo young I'll have to eat 6 cobs to make a normal one.
Keep looking at the clock, not even noon yet..need to run to town but no can do until after 3.. Tomorrow I'm in for a perm, easier to manage while I'm away..
Sending positive thoughts for our Crissy that things well go well for her today. AND Dave will man up and face the whole situation!
I sent her a message to her phone, so she will get it and have "us" with her.
Home for lunch...
Deb - You probably feel like Mom is with you when you are at Cracker Barrell... Mom and I used to go a lot too. Yes Marion - that's the one... can you believe we were eating there circa. 1980? They didn't come to Louisiana for 10 years later....
There's a Cracker Barrel convenience store company here... that's what LA Folks thought of Cracker Barrell....before we got the Restaurant.
Debbie - a friend told me about Comfortis, a pill $19 from the vet. Gave it to Belle in March and absolutely NO FLEAS since then... it's really been a wonder drug.... we actually bought a few and haven't had to give her another since....
Betty think we are bug capital of the world... might want to pack some skeeter spray for New Orleans....
JUdy - set that straight! No one borrows my ipad (so far) or I'd have to lay down the law....
Prayers for Crissy...
Hugs to all,
Mary
