a cancelled birthday? That can't happen........... not right, m'debbie lady!!
Betty - Mat leave has nothing to do with my job - she's a manager, and has her Mat replacement coming in on Monday.
Darla is trusting me with more work that she has discovered I can do. She gives me the work to do and tells me who can help if I need it.
Here's a couple of YouTubes I know you hummer lovers with like........

Best/Worse/What did I learn today?? Visit/Chat with friends
Dianne - prayers for your family...... I know the knowledge is painful, but HE will help you though it.....
Awe (HUGS) Feel like it's the ole Betty's blog back... so many folks checking in....
Hello To All ;
Jean - ROFLOL... I do believe I love you.... giving us a chuckle when we needed it...
Debbie - Need that pic of Paul in the Tang ! Did you get to drive it ?
Oh Dianne Dianne Dianne.... you know how I feel about the "c" word. ((HUGS)) you need some smiles my friend. I'm so glad our Debbie made it by there... You've so much on your plate and have for such a long long time.
Dinner was with DS, his GF, her little brother, who hangs out with them often... we call him "Little".... and the Mom. I do like her so much. her life is so different than mine..... I really enjoyed dinner...
Joyce thank you for hte pic ! Lovely !
THEA ! Yes would love to see your neice's gift... computer problems really can drive one crazy... car problems the same.
BEV... sure wish I could send this rain to you. Before this we had DRY DRY weather but now I can't believe the plants can take any more rain ! It's rained HARD for days... Do you get to help plan anything for the October wedding?
Katie - Thank you for the update on Crissy.... Have to find a voodoo doll LOL... Betty can pick up some in New Orleans ....oh will be too late then though...Love how much you take care of those dogs...remind me of Mom...
Oh Betty ! Jeff has finally found an adventurous young lady to share those kayak trips with ! Wedding bells in the future? She seems like a great gal. Re: Respect... I still treat boss lady with much respect just less fear. Partly because of those plans I have... will definitely update you soon. Maybe August LOL....
Re: my friend who started most recently.... she is giving boss lady headaches because Boss thought she could treat Bobbie like she treated me. Not so. Bobbie has gone as far as to bring her husband to a meeting with General Manager and Boss lady I'm sure has been warned about her behaviour and treatment of people.
They made us go to a "Happy Hour" at GSM's house today ...an effort to try to turn around this poor morale....
Love you ladies all so much....
Mary
Oh Mary - huge hugs to you. There is nothing worse than working in a not so happy atmosphere. You spend so much of your day in the work situation it can't help but cast a pall over home. Sure hope you can shake it each day as you start your journey home after work. My goodness you and DH are almost empty nesters...... enjoy!!
Katie you are one strong lady who has worked hard to be in the position you are today. Sendng positive thoughts that Kaiser will be in touch with you sooner rather than later. How long will you have to stay in Cali after your surgery? Chuckled at the thought of you working outside in the nude. I do that occasionally on a very hot day. Usually noone around but 1 day I didn't hear a boat come into the bay. Off I flew off of the dock in all my glory and I don't know who was surprised more - me or the 2 fishermen off the end of the dock. They politely motored off - sure hope I never see them in the grocery store.
Debbie when will Paul get the results of his MRI?
Need to try and get a couple hours sleep, have a long drive (well for me!) in front of me this morning.
Make sure you all treat yourself to something nice this weekend ladies and Andy.
Dianne
Betty - can understand why you're feeling blue and lonely........ every year at this time...... (((((((Hugs))))))
lol Dianne!! Did they see your face, or do you think they would bother looking at it, when you were in "all your glory" lol
Katie - rest, please........ as Dianne said - you sure do a lot, lady!!
Just watched the Calgary Stampede fireworks from the hilltop at the end of our park. Several parks and Stampede Grounds all have them at the same time - coordinated. Started late though - 11:15, and we'd been there for 20 min waiting for an 11:00 start...... Sprayed myself with mosquito repellent- almost "swam" in it to get enough...... blech on my tongue too lol
Morning all, glad I closed up everything yesterday and out the air on, will prove to be a hot one..
Will be back to gab, bringing Sailor for grooming, after asking to come as early as I possible don't want to be late
Safe travels Dianne, enjoy your outing!
Waving to all..be back in a bit
Wish it were I that was getting a good grooming from head to toe. Lol. Sailor panicked a bit trying to get in the car..bit difficult for her. Now I'm back, will have breakfast and while I wait for a all to pick Sailor up I'll deadhead in the gardens before heat of the day..that's about the most exciting thing I've planned for the day.
Susan, you will be tired today after staying up so late to watch the fireworks..bet they were awesome. Many communities due to it being so dry have had to cancel theirs..cannot believe how quickly the grass has turned yellow..Loved the links and glad Carlo is giving you more work,,soo hooe it turns out to full time this time or give you enough weeks to continue with EI.t
Omg Dianne, you have me sooo laughing with your nudity stories..will have to give it a try one morning...think if I went out watering in the nude they would notice I'm watering during the ban or just let me be. Lol.
Mary, with all the complaints they get about the boss wouldn't you think it would be clear why there is poor morale? Here's hoping the rain you are getting will cool things down for my visit..is it normal for you to get a lot of rain?
LindaKay, you've been quiet lately, sure hope you are feeling ok..likely in that sewing room from early morning till late night.
Well, off to deadhead and gather seeds..once heat is unbearable I'll work on the stained glass project for Suzanne, know it would be appreciated
Good morning, supposed to be beautiful today but I am hot as anything already. Could be I have on jeans. Sigh.
Paul should hear MRI results by Wednesday. The tech said "got some really good pictures" so hopefully Meghan and Dr. Hotness have them early!
Mary here is Paul in the Tang for you to see.
No, I didn't drive it. It was beautiful, Paul was having a blast, and if it had been a 5 speed truck I would have knocked him over to drive it.
Next time maybe. My first car was a 5 speed, and when I started dating DH and married him, he had a F-150 for truck 5 speed....which I am accused of marrying
him for the truck. Not saying nothing.
Bet Sailor Girl will be so pretty, give her some kisses for me.
Debbie, Roger had a 442 olds convertible, sure did like that car. Lol
Great photo's!!
Is hot, just got back from picking up Sailor, she's slim and trim..booked another for the next month..$50 a shot is better than having her pull her haunch hair out..seems to be working..it's tired her out poor thing..gabe her a hug and said it was from Auntie Debbie.
Jeff and Julie should be here anytime..I'll drive them to the lake ramp and bring his truck back for a few weeks..looks like once again weather for them will co operate..lucky them.
Dropped into Cathy's, her dad said she was out at garage sales, he said he dropped in this morning but I was already gone out..that I was!!
Back outside, gardens need tending
I am having swelling issues big time, so I am on meds and staying inside. Thought with temps and humidity down would be good, but can't get my wedding ring 1/2 way down my finger! Well, guess I will be reading a book and elevating.
Jeff and Julie will have so much fun doing that trip.
How did the Foxy Lady do on the lift....did you hear how that ride went?
Good morning everyone, It didn't rain last night but it did cool off a lot. My bedroom temp is down to 76 this morning. I wil be able to do a little more work there. Tony is working on the dehumidifier - trying to get the drainage hose to work so I don't have to empty the collection bucket twice a day.
Still having trouble sleeping but got several good hours after it cooled down a bit. I'm so glad I don't have to keep to a work schedule and can rest at will.
Sure am glad I can vent here about the frustrations with Kaiser. I work at staying calm when I contact them. I worked in a service buerauocracy and know how difficult it can be. I also know a temper tantrum might come back to haunt me. But sometimes I just want to scream. I thank you all for being so understanding. Patience is not my strong suit.
I have the shelves almost empty. Ii'll work a little and see how it goes. I am especially careful when I'm not sleeping well as that is when mistakes can happen. And I'm remembering my agreement with Diane. I have done enough of the brown bagging that I don't have to think much and it's not dangerous but when accident-prone one must be extra careful.
Her's a little funny thing: I feed the dogs outside in 3-5 dishes, depending on how well they are getting along. I mix the chicken in with the rice but they still do their best to sort out the chicken pieces and there is often rice left over in the dishes. The birds that reside here because I have shade, wter and protection from the eagles have learned this and they come down to eat any leftover rice. Sometimes they come down before the dogs are finished and I get to watch dogs and birds sharing a pan of food.
Must get some work done. Back later.
hugs, katie
Morning everyone! Yes, I have been busy sewing. Yesterday Todd took the day off, so he could go get his eyes examined. It took 2 & 1/2 hours for the exam, as he is diabetic, and they had to do lots of test... Well, it was a very pricey morning, $366.00 for the exam, and another $256.00 for new glasses! Sure wish our insurance covers vision and dental!
Debbie, he looks so good in that tang! Make sure you are resting and elevating those legs today!
Katie, please feel free to come and vent all you want, we all do it!
Love that you feed the birds too! Sure wish you could post pictures, would love to see the work your doing!
Betty - where's that pretty Sailor girl? Bet she's happy to get the extra "hair" off in this heat. On the Weathernetwork.com I saw how brown ON is......... yikes!
Geeze - I haven't been to a garage sale in a long time........ thinking maybe it would be fun!
I have lots of weeks on EI Betty (until Feb 2013) - it's just that Real employment pays better! Can't do it on 2/3 pay.......
Maybe Darla & I are in the "honeymoon" stage at work, cuz she doesn't seem like the "ogre" it was painted for me. And with 2 people leaving so quickly after starting the job - 10 months, and "less than 10 months". It's really not surprising no one is going for lunch with me. It may also be a "different jobs" type of thing. I know that people who work same type of jobs tend to congregate, which is why Linda & I may hit it off better - after all, we're both EAs. I don't think anyone else has asked her to join them, and that could be because she's not eating much due to her recent mouth surgery.......
Katie - glad it's cooling down a bit for you, now you'll be able to breathe better in the humidity!!
Y'all can vent as much as you want!! That's what we're here for!! Just so glad you come and post with us.
Debbie - I hear ya about the wedding rings......... I haven't been able to put mine on for years......... about 2. I'm hoping with a bit more weight loss I can wear them again. Of course with you it's swelling issues, a bit different than my "self-imposed" swelling lol
Decided to bring Jeff/Julie to top of Port Severn locks seeing it was already nearing noon...their goal it to reach Big Chute (Hydraulic Lock system) some of you have seen it..imagine having the 2 kayaks sitting on deck and going to the upper level of the lake..they will spend their evening topside..
1. and we are going to get all this into 2 kayaks????
2. becomes the packer
3. Julie helps when asked
Betty - Sailor looks so much happier, and cooler too I guess!!
And the way we go..
Was fun visiting with Art/Mae (Darlene's mom and dad) who lived next bay over from me
Found a kittie that just wanted to sit on my knee....lol
Four coolers didn't make it into the kayak's, Jeff said enjoy and no driving and drinking ..as though I would..might be nice to sit out tonight and have one..
Yes, she's cooler but it plum tired her out!!
Before heading home I walked over to Darlene's..she was at her cousin's who just had a home built on the lake next to Mae/Art's, she was helping him make a garden in this heat..yikes, heat stroke for sure...off we went so she could show me Mike's memorial garden she started..
Lots of work has gone into it already and much more planned!
Playing with stained glass, too hot for gardening right now..also waiting for the young man who bought my old car..thinks he wants the snowtires for it
Then, just might take a run into to Penetang dock for supper and there goes Saturday..
It is amazing what they can pack into those kayaks! Love that kitty, did you bring him home?
Love that memory garden too! She has done a wonderful job!
No didn't bring him home..lol
Do you remember the young woman who stayed with me about 2 years ago, had to say she couldn't move her 3 kids in?? Well she moved to Quebec left her 4 kitties and 3 kids with hubby..he now has new lady in his life, she has 2 dogs so this kittie has decided he doesn't want to go home..spends time at Darlene's and her parents home, both great places to run to if you want to run away from home..very affectionate..could call him Riley as she has been gone other than 1 or 2 visits for a few weeks now.
Meant to comment on Todd's eye glasses and test, holly smolly that is a lot of $$$
Here is hoping he doesn't have to do that on a yearly basis. Just think how much fabric you could have bought
Hello To All ;
Katie - love the Dogs and Birdies eating together ! :)
Debbie - Love Pauls smile in that Tang. My "Fav" car has always been a 65 Mustang. How are the kiddos....
Betty - Yes the rain has cooled things off a bit. Hubs and I cleaned the yard (he more than me) today for tomorrow's party.... I remember last year for the party the pool was too hot and we had to put water in it to cool it off. Today it was very cool... bit too cool for me and I sat in hot tub for a while even. Hope it stays this way for your visit Betty.
Sailor looks so happy.
Wish I could trade you some orange crocosmia for your red. Thought I had a bit of both but all mine have bloomed orange. Still pretty though
Dianne... LOL re your story in the nude... I'd get locked up. Neighbors can even see me in our yard. Somehow our yard is elevated a bit but can see into theirs especially if I'm standing on the hot tub to water the yard or something.
My "Plans" which I will share soon are helping through the witchy poo boss workdays....and giving me confidence. I can't believe I let her treat me like she did. Bobbie doesn't put up with that.
(HUGS)
Mary
Betty - the young woman who stayed with you - wasn't her hubby abusive or something like that? Sounds like she gave 'em up along with everything else........ Don't know her circumstances, but it must have been hard. Hope the "new lady" is good to them. It would be difficult to be a "2nd mom" to them.........
Wow Todd's exam & glasses are expensive!!
Just came back from "dinner & a movie" Went to Ricki's, and then to "Brave" - Such a gooooood movie! So much humour, and "standing up for one's rights (and lefts lol), plus a few tears........
Must go now, and do some sewing....... still doing those lap quilts for Leland and his wife (end of this month will be 1 year!!!)
Morning all, will be a hot and muggy day out there, sooo quiet out there, think I'm the only one that gets up at 5am on a Sunday! Housework done, plants watering, furries fed, now what?? Lol
Mary your yard sounds divine..sure hooe your work initiate comes soon so you can start a new life..wouldn't it be wonderful if it did just as the kids start back to school so you will have your all to give it..
Susan, haven't seen the 'brave' but have heard great reviews.
Hoping Dianne has a safe trip back today! bet her hair will be fluttering as she zooms along the highway.
Birdies are eating at front feeder, Riley just came home for eats
Morning Debbie, what do you and Paul have planned for the day??
Yes, great seeing wildlife..poor birdies try to snack but the squirrels won't move.
Tummy is off, know I should listen to he news..
3 young ones lost their lives..no water jackets/no swimming ability..2 siblings in one mishap and a 12 year old in another.. Just sick about how those parents or guardians must be feeling..the 12 year old either must have been at camp or with friends..
Here I've 2 on the water kayaking, 2 grandsons northern Ontario on 5 week canoe portages (some 15 miles long) rough waters, one at the cottage in Meaford and Greg/Kyle on their way to Cognashene ..water kids, thankfully all swim like fish BUT accidents happen and you do worry!
Just wandering in to wave. I'm going to be off the computer for a few days, so don't worry about me. MIL and BIL will be here, and I'll be trying to find plenty for them to do while their here. Guess it would be rude to sit on the computer... eh?
Ya'll have a great week, ya hear?
waving right back,
sure is Eh!! Lol
Enjoy their company..you are one busy lady..
keeping looking at the clock, Lordy it's only 10:30..
Soldered the 3 easy of 6 panels for the lamp, 3 other panel difficult (lots of mini pieces) so will keep those for Suzanne should she decide to find time in the next few weeks..I got out glass supplies for a jewelry box, will use some of Suzanne's leftovers and I'll have a gift for Marg as well!
Furries all laying inside, guess even they feel the heat and would rather be inside.
They came and we hugged, we laughed and we cried and then we sadly had to say our goodbyes…
I just spend the most wonderful weekend with our Barb/Norm and our Dianne!!!
Our very spur of the moment get-together was just what the Doc had ordered for everyone. Barb needed to get away and clear her mind before her surgery on Thursday; Our Dianne just needed a break and lots of hugs after all she has been through with losing her sweet Warren and Quill; and well for me I would have been so homesick this weekend and longing to be with my family in Germany for the wedding of my dear niece.
Although a very short visit we just enjoyed each other’s company and hugs!!! AND of course we all thought about you!!!
1. Picture: Barb and Norm arrived here on Friday late Friday afternoon and I cooked them a German meal for supper.
2. Picture: Early Saturday morning Dianne joined us and we had a chance to have breakfast on the deck before the extreme heat/humidity kicked in.
1. Picture: We ventured fast to our tiny Famers market and of course I had to show the girls my Local Quilt Shop…lol
2. Picture: Here are the guys enjoying some reading time under the big shade tree.
Dianne already arrived safely at her home again and Barb and Norm are still a few hours away from their place.
I enjoyed every second I was able to spend with these loving and caring ladies (and gentleman) and I hated to see them leave. But I know for sure we will meet again in the near future!!!!
Hugs and love for everyone going to have a little nap now!!!!
Thea
Btw Debbie…as for getting your ring of your finger…spray the finger/ring with windex and voila it comes right off!!!!
Fantastic...awe I would have so driven just to get to meet some and hug old friends..thanks for the ohoto's and am thrilled with your gathering..bet tears were indeed shed..
Magnificent...
The men sure look comfortable, can NLT imagine what the are looking at on their tablets
Betty!!! OMG I am soooooooooooo sorry!!!! I really should have told you to come as well, for some reason I thought it would way to far for you to drive (8 hours+) for such a short visit!! Next time I know better!!! You know Betty...like you I always have an open door!! Anytime you feel up to it come for a visit!!!
As for the guys....wellllllllllll they were actually reading books...lol...we had NO internet or phone for all of saturday because someone must have clipped a phonepole and they had to replace it completly and it took until midnight last night!!!
Thea, that looks like a wonderful get together! Hope you all gave hugs from us too? What kind of German food did you cook? I love German food!
Yep, about a 6 hr drive!!
Ahhh LindaKay, what a gorgeous child..these are precious times!
I are, he is growing so fast! So glad we have digital camera, to capture the moments!
