Just about to finish my coffee, and checking on threads, then off to the sewing machine. I may be shopping for another machine soon, as this one keeps freezing up on me. It is a Brother, and just out of the blue, it jams up, and the only thing that will free it is a good spray from the WD 40 can! it says DO NOT OIL, but I can't figure out what else to do! It is not even 2 years old! So I guess, I will go to the stores when I go to San Antonio this week end and see what is available?

LindaKay, I've a Janome, now 20 years old (touch wood) never had a problem with it and it does say DO NOT OIL..did you bring it in for cleaning? If it was an expensive one I'd be sure to try that before replacing it. So you are off to San Antonio this weekend? You know what I love best about travelling, it's having seen a lot of the places you all mention i.e. when I think of San Antonio I think of the Alamo, now bedded amongst a city of high rise buildings, remembering the little shops around it, did smell moldy and my friend Barb couldn't breath so we had to leave..another visit will be in order.

Do you have any thoughts as to what sewing machine you would like to purchase??

I have taken it apart, and cleaned it, but it still jams up! Guess I will just have to get a new one. Can't you tell, I am so upset, that I HAVE to go shopping? LOL!

OK, coffee is done, off to the sewing machine. I am making blocks for the other room, for Anjl, and her horse project! Easy block to do, it is called rail fence, I am doing them in shades of brown.

It was not too expensive, I think it was $250.00, but we have no place here that will repair machines, and if they did, it would probably be cheaper to get a new one, so that is what I am going to do!

Just a fast helloooooooooooooo...I am all on edge we are under a Tornado warning, a first for our surounding area. Been pacing the house and looking out the window...but beside dark clouds can see nothing...seems all quiet. We had hail earlier and heavy rain but that has stopped now.

Good afternoon, Just had a call from the surgeon's office. When I told her what had happened she checked and said I am on the list for surgery!! Very strange. I guess one doctor left and someone just had a baby and....so it goes. I will call the surgery scheduling people in a day or two and see if THEY have me and if there is an estimate of when I might have the surgery.

Tony told me the "big" town water pump broke and won't be repaired/replaced for at least a week. With the "small" pump I may get water for two hours a day until then. I have a big gravity-fed tank so I'm fine, especially since I did a ton of laundry on Sunday and my outdoor tub is full.

I'm going to soak for awhile. I've been cleaning house. Yuk.

Yes we have a full basement and I figured I would go to the storage room underneath the steps...I just have NO clue how I would get/catch my 3 cats to go there. If they see a carrier they all hide...lol

I just ventured outside but I went back inside pretty fast...lol...it is 94% humidity!!! Feels like a steam bath.

LK...the german food I cooked for Barb and Norm is called "jaegerschnitzel" (hunters schnitzel), pork schnitzel with double smoked bacon, onions and mushrooms in gravy and we had "Spaetzle" (homemade noodles) with it and beans and carrots. Your Grandson looks sooooooo adorable...I have serious grandkid envy!!! Just love holding and taking care of those bundles of joy.

Mary...yesterday I watched a 4 1/2 hour documentary about Louisiana it was called "When the levves broke"...thought about you and sure needed a few kleenex. The food you had at your Party sure sounded so yummy!!! I love seafood but my sweety uhmmm well he is not fond of it at all...lol...but I am "allowed" to cook fish once a month...lol...so that is an improvement!!

Judy...you biker chick you!!! Do you ride yourself too? I miss riding but with my bad back I would need a forklift afterwards to get me off...lol...or a crane. The pictures from the highrise are WOW...but I would be with all the others...stuck on the back wall...lol...can`t deal with heights either ever since I had the kids!!

Well, I got the rail fence quilt blocks done, and was working on the dresden plate blocks, and my machine is jammed good. WD 40 is not working anymore. So all my sewing is on hold till I can get a new machine. It sure won't be another Brother. This is the 2nd one that has done this.

Thea, I have no grandkids.....just grand kittens & a grand pup. SO, Spencer aka The Professor...is my baby currently.
He is loved by all, including the cats and the dog. Hops all over the house, and outside on his harness.

He was born about Feb. 1st so is 5 1/2 months. He is a Jersey Wooley which is a mix of Angora and Netherlands dwarf. He will top out at 3 to 4 lbs tops.

Whooping cough is spreading through Texas, we are warned to go and get a booster.

Tornado warning is lifted...it is sunny and cooler out and we finally can open the windows to let a breeze in!!!

Good morning everyone,
Yes, we sure did get the storm that went through last night. Debbie sent it right along over to us. We had some heavy rain and some strong wind but no damage here. The town next to us had a lot of trees and wires down with about 2000 people with no power. But we are fine....
Had a great phone call from Judy last night. She is always so upbeat and makes me smile every time we talk.
Went for my pre-op with the hospital yesterday. Now I know just what to expect. If I can have the easy surgery, I will only be there for one night. If I have the other, it may be 2-3 nights. Won't know till it's over.....
I can't believe Norm and I left Thea's and I left the gift she and Bernie had given to us. Won't tell you about it though until I get it. It got put under a table when Thea's sister came to visit and I overlooked it. I can be such a dunce sometimes.....
My SIL is awake so I'm off to chat with her. Hope everyone has a great day~~~~~~

Appears we all had storms last night. We were lucky as the really bad areas went around us but we could hear the thunder. We did get a slow rain and it continues this morning. Betty, we aren't as dry here as other places and most of Florida has now received rain....some areas (like my sister's place) more than they can handle

Where "near Tallahassee" will you be? Let me know and I will see if we can make arrangements to get together..okay?

Barb, I had the "other" procedure when I had my gall bladder removed and it wasn't that bad. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers...oh such great relief when it is over, done, complete!!!!

Morning...gee whiz Louise, inclement weather passed us by, not a drop of rain..infact at 4:00 a.m. this morning I was out doing a bit of watering, not a lot but just enough in hopes that the gardens will survive. Listened to Frankie Flowers this a.m. no rain in sight for at least 7 days..long term show NONE!!

Mary a co-worker from another office has llama's and makes socks..she just sent me a pair, hate to wear them..yikes think she get about $45 a pair..not sure I'd ever spend that much seeing as you have to give them tender loving care in the washing..not for me, if it can't go in washer, in drying and hang it doesn't live at my house. Your family reunion is coming quickly isn't it...in what part of Florida is it being held..bet you can't wait. If you pass by Pensacola could you keep an eye open for a little motel/hotel on the ocean for me???

Yes, I have been spoiled quite well already! A very nice breakfast made by DH, complete with a pecan roll from Wegmans. A beautiful Wishing Well planter for the yard....and a Nook Tablet! I can now see what I am reading much better.....and use it when away from home to email and such. Now I have to figure out how to use.
