Happy Fourth of July everyone!
Coffee Break # 82
What nice photos for the Fourth, Jen! And I hope everyone had as wonderful a day as I did.....
Great pictures Jen! Yes, he has the hair cut now, but the first year he retired ....he refused to cut it for a year. I threatened him with scissors several times. ^_^
Been slacking on the Adam Updates but he's been doing really well until Tuesday. He has been going for chemo once a week at the hospital and doing good until the other day when he started running a fever. He was admitted back in to the hospital for a mild infection , he's on antibiotics now and they will keep him for a few days so they can keep an eye on him.
Fingers crossed for Adam. I promise not to forget him in my prayers.
The Marcinko book sounds like a good read. DD1 has always written about recent wars and related foreign policy for hs, and started an adopt-a-soldier club. I bet she's already read it all, but if not, my copy will move around the house. I'd like to see more women thinking about foreign policy because I think they can imagine what the soldiers have to do.
Just a heads up Rosemary - there is some rough language in those books.
I love his own version of commandments
Praying Adam is home again soon....
Thanks go out to Jen's nephew Joe and Celeste's brother Colonel E.J. Boudreau, and to all who serve in our military and fight for our freedom.
Allison, hope your foot gets better soon. You must be going crazy. I know I would. I had a broken ankle back in 1987. Hated being in a cast. Have had osteoarthritis in that ankle since then.
Ronnie, I hope Sophie doesn't take it too hard. Poor thing. Glad to hear Winston has improved.
Hope Adam gets over his infection soon, Celeste. He has been through a lot.
We had a great time at our BBQ yesterday. Dad enjoyed all the food, and we went for a walk with him down the street. I just realized I never even took any pics. What was I thinking?!!!! The only downside was all the humidity, and with barely a breeze it was really uncomfortable. Maybe that's why I didn't think of taking any pics.
Karen
I have lots of spurs and damage in there already .. Damaged goods for sure!!!... Been thinking of Adam all this week after seeing the FB posts :(
Thanks for all our relatives' military service.
Dear, dear Adam. Continued hugs and prayers.
Thanks for all your well wishes. We are making good time. I am tired. Yesterday we stayed in Alliance, Nebraska. Visited Carhenge. Fun
Today we went north and a little east to visit Badlands Nat'l Park where Jeff could get his lifetime senior pass for $10. Then went to Mt. Rushmore. Ended up in Buffalo, Wyoming tonight. Will be camping hopefully just east of Yellowstone tomorrow.
Have been trying to post pics, but not having success.

Sounds like lots of fun, Jen. I love visiting National Parks.
Karen
Sounds like such a wonderful trip Jan!!
There are some terrible storms out that way....stay safe and have fun!
Cute!!
Still no hummers here....
This is an awesome video! I'm Farming and I Grow It!

Love it!
Sounds like a great trip, Jan. hope you can get some rest. I am finding the icab "option" not to be an option since photos do not post. Is that the same problem you are having?
Is anyone out there successful in posting photos from an ipad? Using Icab?
LOL
I was so bored tonight I organized my jarred candles by seasonal scents
That's pretty bored Jen!
Must clean house today! Have been waiting since I'm still coughing, but time is up.....can't stand looking at the dirt anymore!
Doesn't everyone, Jen?? ^_^
Interesting piece on NYC before a/c, by Arthur Miller.

you are more than welcome to come here and clean Jen
;)
Loved that story, Victor.....I think folks were thinner then, because who could eat in that heat.....now with a/c in all the restaurants & many homes, folks go right on eating like it's cool outside....I don't turn on the a/c until I feel like passing out, but I had it on this morning to clean the house...it's off now, breezes coming through the windows....
Well I have now broken three Swiffer WetJets. Something tells me they were not designed with men in mind!
we have had ours for years and years.. what's with that????
I'm on my 2nd Swiffer dry mop.....broke the 1st.....
mop is fine, it's the sweeping sheets which keep coming off the mop head which drive me mad.
I think I put a bit too much elbow grease into it.
we only use ours for spot cleaning.. but I have that wet dry vac / floor washer.. it does a better job
Great article on life before air-conditioning, Victor. Thanks for sharing.
It was so darn humid here, I could barely stand it. Was out a good part of the day for my daylily sale. Had few customers, but I still made $80, so it was worth it. I only had to dig 2 plants. The rest of the sales were of potted plants. My daylilies are looking fabulous right now.
Karen
did everyone check there computers to see if you have the virus threat?.. the FBI is supposed to be cutting off your internet if you are infected
http://www.dcwg.org/
Didn't even know about it, scanning now, have really good security program
I just saw it on the news.. we had no idea either.. and all good here
checked mine, I'm clean.
