central, NJ(Zone 6b)

South Hamilton, MA

thanks I went through a batch of things until correct check came up.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

On my list of things to do, Jen. Pretty much, it's vanilla, apple or pumpkin scent here.

Arrived in Portland, Oregon this afternoon. We saw Carhenge in Nebraska, the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone.( Old Faithful did it's thing a minute after we got there and sat down. Woohoo! Otherwise it would have been an hour wait). We camped two nights. One morning was a very chilly 41. The next campsite was a balmy 60. Drove 3500 miles since last Monday. Our grandy was wonderful!!! We took videos of her singing an annoying song so we will have some entertainment on the ride home. It only gets annoying after the 10 th time. We probably heard it a million times. LOL. I found myself humming it when she wasn't around. We saw moose, elk, buffalo and a pika.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I'm sure!!!! your top 10 list of things to do!LOL

Glad you made it safely! I wish it was 60 here!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

That was only this morning. We saw the highest temp.this week in the high desert of eastern Oregon today 107.

Louise, yes, on having trouble with icab. Frustrating. Will have DIL help me. But, not tonight.

Jeff will be helping our son with some roofing this week. Heehee. Won't be as hot here as it was when he did it just before we left NJ. Not the whole roof.

Lots to catch up on with you all.

Thomaston, CT

Jan, I envy you that trip...it sounds like you had an awesome time with Hope....what a trip to remember!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

sounds like a great trip jan!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Just checked my computer. Looks like I'm clean. Whew!

Did not have the RU. No one could come. Not that there were many people who were going to make it anyhow. I would love for everyone to be able to come and see my daylilies. I was thinking, if people aren't busy next Sunday, then we could do it then. Otherwise maybe I could shoot for next year. Let me know what you guys think.

Karen

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Jan, your trip sounds like it's been awesome so far. I would love to do a trip like that some day. Not that I haven't done my share of road trips. I've done several, and they've all been great. Love them.

Karen

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

We will stay here for a couple of weeks then start the trip home. Probably via RT 2 across the northern part of the country. Our plan is to stop in Kallispell, MT near Glacier and visit soferdig. He is no longer on DG. We will also visit our dear friend in MI.

Hope was a trooper. She supposedly gets carsick, but did not have a problem. At least she said she didn't. We played games or listened to her monologues. Heehee. She was thrilled to start the campfires and was easily amused. What a joy! I can't imagine taking the same trip with her brother. Actually, I can imagine it, but just wouldn't want to take the same trip with him.

I am thankful that we can do these adventures during the summer. Looking forward to the day when we can go any time of the year. Hopefully we will still be able physically to enjoy it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Have fun, Jan!

FYI, today is no-bra day! So who's participating?? ;)

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Not me! Not comfortable without one. Besides, at my age, everything goes south, so having no bra would not be a good look for me.

Karen

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh boy!! Not me

Thomaston, CT

Unh, unh! But I did have my mamo today.....always a lovely experience!

South Hamilton, MA

That's all right Victor. We will let you celebrate.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Only thing better than no-bra day is no-bra day with a prolonged low magnitude earthquake. ^_^

Thomaston, CT

My yard was full of birds tonight, including the 1st 2 hummers I've seen....well, hard to see them, they were zipping around so fast.....also saw a cedar waxwing, & a juvenile woodpecker....he had soft-looking spots all over his feathers....

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Jan glad your trip is going great, sounds like so much fun!
Karen sorry to hear your RU was cancelled, that stinks.
No go here either Victor, not that anyone would notice, I'm not from a well endowed family! LOL

Lou and I spent two days in Ocean City with his brother and SIL, nice to be at the beach for a while.
We did here some horrible news while there though, I'm sure some of you heard about the local (for me) cop that was killed on his motorcycle on the way home from work, drunk driver going the wrong way on an exit ramp head on collision. He was from our neighborhood and lived up the street from my son. His little boy was on Sophie and Luci's Tball team. The family had been steady customers at our pizza shop for years. I am so heartbroken for them, the youngest was only around 5. There is a motorcycle remberence ride for him on Wednesday that Lou and my oldest son will join.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Ronnie, so sorry to hear about that. I had not heard that one. That's really sad.

Karen

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Geez Ronnie, my sincere condolences, those poor children!
Glad you had a little get-away, everyone needs one once in a while. :)

Baby Adam is back in the hospital with a slight infection....otherwise he's doing pretty good. The MRI show's no change right now. Head is clear, they see no tumors growing and the ones on his spine had not grown or changed. He is starting to eat solid foods again in hopes to build his strength up before starting the aggressive chemo treatments again. Right now he goes in once a week for the milder form of chemo.

South Hamilton, MA

Adam news is good, hope that he continues to improve.

Sorry for the children who have lost their father at such a young age. I hope people can keep his memories fresh in their mind.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Sorry to hear that Ronnie ... Just terrible..

Celeste .. Best wishes to Adam as always

Thomaston, CT

Ronnie, just horrible...that poor wife & those children...just senseless.......prayers for Adam to improve quickly....heading to the 'wound center' at the hospital with my Mom today....not looking forward to it...

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

So many tragedies recently - especially involving kids. So awful.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Hope all goes well with your Mom, Marilyn, and also with Adam, Celeste!

Thomaston, CT

Thank you all for your good wishes...the news, however, was not good....it's definitely a tumor in her leg, most probably a cancerous one...the doc biopsied it, we'll know more next week, but she has to have it out & at 97, that's always risky....although the surgeon was amazed at how she looked considering her age, & the fact that she takes so few meds.....her heart, blood pressure, & circulation are all good!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

(((HUGS))) Marilyn and mom. Always hard to play the waiting game.

Thomaston, CT

Thanks, Jan....
