Thanks for the cheery pics---they clear the mental fog.
crossed posted.. sorry hope my spider pics don't wreck it for you!!!!
Nope. I'm a country girl deep down. It's all nature and quite lovely. After yours, Allison, I want to go find my hummingbird feeder.
whew!!!
Very lovely photos.....even the spider ones, Allison.....
Nothing like a good bee murder I always say.
I like the spider pics Allison!
amazing that you caught that, did I tell you about the wasp that was carrying one of those tiny green grasshoppers? pulled it right up into the end of the wrought iron railing, was so enthralled watching it forgot to take pics
I hate to say it ... but I heard the fly struggling and that's the only reason I pointed the camera there to see what the hub bub was about
Jo, I didn't get my lilies early, either, so there was some minor damage, but overall they're looking great. I have been using Ortho Bug-Be-Gone systemic pesticide and fungicide. Great pics from today.
Celeste, thanks for the ID on the Asiatic. I will have to make out a tag for it ASAP.
Lovely shots, Allison. I thought the spider and fly shots were quite interesting. I found a nest of baby spiders today while out photographing my daylilies. I should have taken some pics of it.
I wanted to upload the shots from today, but my computer is acting up and not reading the card. Might have to restart it.
Here are some more pics from the past week.
The first 3 are of a new garden ornament I got that I couldn't resist. It the dragonfly's wings are made from fork and spoon handles, and the body is made from a butter knife handle. It rests on a spoon, which has the handle cut off and is welded onto a stand. The dragonfly is counterweighted with a metal flower. This will become rusty, except for the spoon, fork and knife handles, which are stainless steel, I believe.
Next up are my mini gnomes. I got them a wheelbarrow, which is metal and painted white.
Then there's my nicotiana alata grandiflora.
Karen
i can see why you couldn't pass up the dragonfly, Karen....I love it! The gnomes are cute, too.....
Thanks, Marilyn.
You know, to my eyes, Neal Berry and Jolyene Nichole look so much alike. I might just have to get rid of one. Don't need two that look alike. I might keep Neal Berrey, as it's a bit taller and would be a good hybridizing plant. It has about 86 registered offspring.
Here are more. I got distracted looking at Neal Berrey progeny on Tinker's.

The remaining shots are all of one of my mother's seedlings, one I have plans on registering as Penny For Your Thoughts. I had sent in a registration form back in 2010. It got lost, and I have since procrastinated on redoing it. The current registrar at the AHS said I would not have to pay any additional money if I had a record of payment. I've lost the record though. Might never have had one to begin with.
do you have all those flowers planted by color Karen.. or random around?.. they are fabby btw
Thanks, Allison. A lot of them are random, but I have a few beds that have a color theme. One is a white and yellow bed. Another is a pink bed. And one more is a purple and yellow bed. The latter two are still a work in progress. There are still daylilies in those beds that don't fit the themes, and I've been gradually moving them out and replacing them with ones that do, doing a switcheroo. It's time-consuming, though, and right now most of my time is taken up by weeding.
Karen
Lovely Karen, I'm especially fond of "Domenic"! Are there any named Lucia and Sophia?

Love the drumsticks too Jo. Your lilies are gorgeous!! Blastin Beautiful is right!!!!!!
Tiny Todd, Strawberry Custard, Rose 'Burgubdy Iceberg' and dianthus 'Brilliant Star', can't recall the name of this lily but it's a very pretty yellow, basket of 'Trixi Glory' (calibrochea red, white & blue) from Allison
My trellis with a million buds on top.......it's filled out on the left much better than the right but this is only it's 3rd year. ^_^ I have a pale pink climber on the right called 'Celestial' on the left is a beautiful deeper pink that is hardy to z3 and blooms all summer long. I have no idea of the name but this is what it looks like.....anyone one would like a piece let me know.
Strawberry Custard is on my next order. All beauties Pixie
i like those dumsticks too Joann
Celeste those are great shots - really like the JI's, i need more for the pond. Jealous of your climbers, i have never had luck with them.
I'll send you one of this deep pink if you want, I can guarantee it will grow. ^_^
I also have a dark one that I can;t kill...it's very deep marroon. I pulled it up and moved it....next year 2 sprigs came up where I had pulled it from....dug it up again and moved the new sprigs to a new place. This year....new shoots in the same old spot, I now have this rose in 3 places!!!!!!!
Meant to say thank you to you both. :)
Karen, Jo, & Pixie....those are just beautiful blooms....loved seeing them!
Nice, Jo
