Jeff said they went out like a light. It was after 10 though. The first one came in at 7.
Coffee Break # 81
Great night for camping....I'm sure they had a wonderful time.....Happy Anniversary, Victor.....go through your wedding photos & remember how handsome you both were.....Ronnie, hope Luci is feeling OK, & heals quickly!
the cooler weather usually helps with the bugs at night too.. very nice!!
Oddly enough the skeeters were out in force for a while. I know I will regret it as soon as I say this, but so far this year the skeeters have NOT been as much of a problem as in past years. I am very thankful for that.
Sure hope you are feeling better, Ronnie! Terrible accident for Luci...hope she is doing well too! Jen, you think like a lawyer! Lol. (no lawyer slams please :) ). I obviously don't mean that to be a bad thing, Jen. :)
Happy Anniversary, Victor! Two lucky people!
Great looking doughnuts, Celeste! Happy to hear Adam may go home for awhile.
Nice Father's Day outing for your Dad, Karen! Glad to see it! I hope all the Dads here have a lovely Dad's Day tomorrow.. We're taking our grandsons with us to a Vermont cemetery search for the grave of the family patriarch who lived in the 1700's.....that is - if they behave at breakfast! LOL.
Jan, i think you have to speak up in those circumstances! It's not being pushy if there is a real need as yours was. So nice that you are able to enjoy your grandies so much! Ours from Colorado will be arriving for the Fourth...can't wait!
Louise...sounds like a perfect day planned for Hank......
Thanks, all! We are back from a great Italian dinner with the kids.
Jan, I agree, the skeeters have not been too bad so far this year. I hope they don't get bad later.
Were you a lawyer before you retired, Louise?
We took our Dad out to Dairy Queen today. It was too cold for an ice cream, though. I thought this weekend was gonna be in the 70's. What happened?
Karen
Don't worry Will be in the 90s next week. DH will put the air conditioner in the window to prepare.
Squished my first couple Japanese beetles of the season
Ah! Let the squishing begin!
Wow! I go away or get busy and the DG world changes! Prayers still coming for all ages from here! So much happy and and also worrisome is being reported.
If I find a story again about the suspected earthquake potential from fracking I'll post it. MY DH is a pretty smart engineer, who says once water moves, so can the geological structures. Problem we have is that if the engineers who say we can handle fracking are wrong, the consequences are huge, and I just wonder if they can consider things fully from other areas of specialization.
We found yet another company to consider installing solar on our roof. I'm hoping this one meets my DH's quality requirements. They say every single component is american made, and the units can withstand 140 mph winds. As the money manager of the house, I like the numbers the solar installation companies are giving us, including home equity loans, rebates and tax credits. We also want to consider having a well drilled to enable watering our plants instead of paying the high city price.
My plants have to fend for themselves lately with no major casualties. In exchange for the neglect, we've coached two kids to find summer jobs. DS is able to earn $25 per hour, and he want to be promoted to floor manager to make another $10 per hour. He may end up paying for his own college because he can come back to peddle chicken on weekends if he wants.
We're off to spend a few days in Amherst MA now.
I've never been to Amherst, but it's close to Northampton, which has a lot going on......
What type of engineer is your hubby, Rose?
Ugh - more stress with my MIL. CT scan showed the problem may go back to her big surgery last year. One of the two femoral grafts is blocked. She also has infection. Being transferred to the hospital.
Oh, no....so sorry, Victor....your DW must be frantic......
Now it's two separate probs. Colitis and a graft issue. Had 103 fever.
I'm sorry Victor & I bet that she is in pain.
so sorry to hear that Victor
Hopefully they finally found the problem and fix it quickly!
Oh dear! Many prayers going up for her and you two.
Oh no, Victor! Hope it resolves quickly!
Oh Victor, that doesn't sound good at all, im so sorry!

cool
It is tempting . . .
Lordy, don't let my son see that!
WE HAVE GOOD NEWS!!! All Domenic's test came back negative!! What a weight lifted from our hearts. The doc called it "baby ocular flutter" and said it will go away within a year. We have to watch to make sure it doesn't get worse but he is 99.999% sure it won't. Thank you all for your support and prayers♥♥♥
oh I am soooo glad to hear that Ronnie!!!
Woo hoo! Thank God!
Great news, Ronnie!!!
Went blueberry picking with the grandies. FUN!!!
So happy to hear Ronnie!
:)

wonderful.
fantastic
Great news, Ronnie! Everyone must be SO relieved.
Just back from visiting my MIL at the hospital. Still has the diarrhea and will get a colonoscopy tomorrow. She has another UTI, not surprisingly. And, worst of all, something serious going on with her graft. Her little toe is black. It was only slightly darkon Sat. They did dopplers today. No results yet. Ugh.
Took a really cool tour this AM. Saw the new tunnel being built under Grand Central Terminal that will accommodate the LI railroad in a few years. Then, LIers can go directly to the east side instead of taking the subway from Penn Station. Have some cell phone pics that I will post later. Amazing down there! The scale alone is awesome. Took home a souvenir - a piece of Manhattan schist, the bedrock that supports all the skyscrapers. About 1/2 billion years old, and super hard, this is what had to be tunneled out - both by tunnel boring machines and drill and blast.
hope things improve for her Victor
