Coming from here... http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1259979/
My new mini donut maker and first batch of chocolate-chocolate donuts. :)
Glad to hear such good news on Leah, Deb and thanks for sharing the pictures... she's a beautiful little peanut!!
For those of you with P.I. my deepest sympathies!! I've yet to get it this year, but it's only the beginning of the season. :(
Update on Baby Adam:
Monday: He had surgery for his " g tube" placement which is a feeding tube that connects into his stomach and the other end is external and sticks out from his belly. In six weeks when his body heals around it they can make it into a smaller version that won't stick out as much.
Tuesday: He was doing well yesterday, had P.T. then took a long nap afterwards. :) They tried giving him some of his meds that would normally go through his I.V. and tried them through the new "g tube" feeding tube as well as pedialyte and he has been tolerating them both well so far, no nausia. Also trying to wheen him off the diluadid drip(morphine) and giving him it as needed every 4 hours, and eventually try to see if he will be ok with hydrocodone through the g-tube. All these things are to prepare him for the methods they will use when he is home :) If everything goes as planned he may be going home for a month starting around friday or early next week!!! :) Plans are for less aggresive chemo for a month to let him fully recover from being so sick.
He is such a fighter,my heart breaks watching him endure all he has, but it also swells with pride at the strength and determination he has shown. Thank you FB friends for praying for him and letting me vent, I can't fully express how much it means to me but I am so very grateful for you all. ^_^

Continued prayers, glad to hear Adam is holding on
MMM breakfast! Glad to hear Adam is coming along♥
Karen good news on your dad!
Today is the first full day with my girlies, hopefully it will be a smooth sailing summer since so far it isn't with the PI. Will have to see the doctor since my whole body is covered. I just wish I knew how it spread like it did. I have a wedding in two weeks I hope it's gone by then and doesn't reach my face.
Oh MY Ronnie!! Did you sit in it? I only ask because I did once.....it wan't P.I. but P. Sumac and it seems that I am twice as allergic to sumac!!! My brothers are allergic to both P.I. & P.S. but highly allergic to P.Oak. One of them had to be hospitalized because of it. Luckily i've never had P. Oak.
Jan, glad your DGD made the trip safe, enjoy your time w/her!
Karen, glad your Dad is doing better, I hope he continues to be happy in his new place and I will continue to say a prayer for him. :)
Allison, I have kept Lance and his wife in my prayers daily, hoping for the best.
No didn't sit in it. I just can't figure out how it got so bad. I can see on my arms and legs but my back, stomach and butt?
the back & butt are pretty hard to get.. sorry Ronnie
Were any of your animals with you? It gets on their fur....my son gets it every year without ever going near it because of the dogs.
leah looks like a very happy baby debi!
good to hear adam is doing well celeste.
glad you were able to get your dad out and about karen.
ronnie you must have got it on your clothes and somehow spread it on your body
Good to hear, Celeste.
Such cute photos of Leah.....of course she's smiling at her Grandma! Good news for Adam.....just to get him home would be a victory.....Karen, Ted looks good, nice outing for you....you'll love 4th of July.....every bloom is different.....Ronnie, had to miss school for several days when I sat in the PI.....doc said it looked like I was in a fire.....no fun!
Adam is quite the warrior!!!
Sorry the PI spread, Ronnie. No fun and hope it is gone by the time of the weeding.
Jeff is going to be thrilled, cuz Hope made brownies from scratch. I was her sous chef. I'll take a picture when it comes out of the oven.
Have a few more patches of PI.
Good for Hope....send her here....I'm a terrible baker....I blame my Mom's genes! Victor....PI is the enemy! I saw a chart of photos yesterday at the Bellamy-Ferriday House where i was painting.....there are soooo many forms of that devil plant, no wonder I'm always getting into it.....
Karen your dad does look happy!
Just back from my son's clarinet solo at his school. It was a performance for the parents by soloists and ensembles. I was very impressed at some of the talent! Some great voices and wonderful instrument performances. There was even a baritone - in 7th grade! He sang, If Ever I Would Leave You, and did a marvelous job. Fun stuff.
Love it, Victor!.
That's great Victor! Love the clarinet.
Nice Victor! Is this the oldest? Just wondering as he and DGD Hunter are approx. the same age and she plays too. :)
Thanks, all.
Yes, Celeste - the 13 yr old.
There were two kids who performed for that State music competition in three different instruments!
I wasn't going to post this but today I could really use some prayers and support...My GS Domenic is going in for an MIBG scan to check for a neuroblastoma tumor. He has been having some trouble since birth with his involuntary eye movement that they thought at first was a nystagmus. After seeing the neuro/optimoligst at CHOP they ruled that out. We are trying real hard to be positive but it's real scary and my son is a mess. Needless to say any extra prayers you have we could sure use them.
Oh Ronnie, I am so sorry, praying for all of you.
You know I will, Dominic is right up there w/Adam. Blessings to you and your family Ronnie, keep those positive thoughts.
hoping for the best ronnie
Ronnie {{hugs}}
Big hugs, Ronnie. Definitely praying for little Domenic.
Ronnie...how frightening.....prayers & hugs for all of you......
This is my favorite soap box.
These statements are true.Clean water is already being taken from the greatlakes for export.
The fracking issue is a "must - dont"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=wgqyD5mXS9Q
Sure will, Ronnie.
Yes, that is funny, Celeste! And they're good athletes and students.
Still undecided about that issue, Jo. But typical stupid gov - they are killing the coal industry, forcing way more dependence on natural gas. This, in turn, puts more pressure to find more nat gas sources. Brace for HUGE increases soon in your utility bill.
Wait til you get your waterbill.too
What's the connection??
As mentioned in the video. The resource we all take for granted is dwindling.
Fresh drinking water for all the states and most certainly New York ,will be scarce in a few decades.
We are selling tankers full to the Japanese and have been for many years. Mostly Lake Michigan which is easily accessed from the Atlantic thru the St.Lawrence seaway and thru Lake Ontario.
The watershed that supplies NYC is all waters north of the Hudson in the central east part of the state. My memory fails but the name of the area was documented.
The Natural Gas fraking issue is a hot subject. Our Gov.has allowed fracking in all areas except those communities that have declined the leases and have NOT allowed fracking.
Well duhhhh.I am not a hydro engeneer but it seems if you are a "no frack" community down hill from somewhere where they are fracking it stands to reason your wells will get polluted.
This topic gets me riled up as none other has since the VietNam war. Admin will probably shut me down but I just had to bring this to everyone's attention.
That You-tube is the best and fairest explanation of the situation.
Lets all move to Vermont.
Is it possible to use slugs as an alternate power source? They release electricity when they touch copper according to eHow.
Copper Slug Repellent
By Lang Tun, eHow Contributor
Copper reacts with the slime of slugs to create an shock to the slug's system.
Slugs are a common garden pest that can create severe damage to both vegetable and flowering plants in your garden. There are several copper-based options for treating slugs, as well as other natural treatment options. Copper reacts to the slime produced by slugs and generates an electric "shock" to their system. This deters slugs from approaching the copper as well as the nearby plants. Does this Spark an idea?

I'm all for the "Slug Electric Power Co."
Jo, I was hoping you would say, "I'm no fracking hydro engineer, but..." ^_^
Praying for baby Domenic!
Got stung by something today, but have no idea what, something that was on a lily, I felt like a small bee sting and now I have 3 little bumps but (thank GOD) doesn't hurt
