Awe, Betty, congrats! They are so cute!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Told Sharon I don't want to see them otherwise I just might come home with one..
I'm just like a kid, Suzanne said we'd stop for an icecream cone on the way home and now I can't wait for 4:30 to come lol

Some clients are with Trustee signing right now, might be a tad later when we leave, told Suzanne I'd meet her there, she said she has news for me, she drove me in so I must wait however long she is..

What exciting thing did you get up to today?

I would so like to put my head down and have a nap

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Dianne - poor Streaky - hope the dentist visit is ok for him. You take care of yourself too! You need to not get hurt and hobble! Was there any damage to your property re: hail?

Betty - one thing for sure, we don't have to worry about the first "caution" with you - you're NOT going to get pregnant, etc LOL I'm glad your brain has decided Not To Cough!!
awwwwww those puppies are adorable!

Crissy - some more closure in having the court date - good for you, for holding it all together!!

Katie - take it easy now...... sounds like your van is ready to go on Monday!

My interview went well - this time with the Boss (Bashar) and HR Rep (Dean). Bashar was trying to "trip me up" re: ngineering terminology (I'm not in the industry, so might get depressed when my high expectations aren't met - hogwash! I told him depression is personal, and I don't take these types of things personally, just work harder!). I told him I have an excellent work ethic, and am able to learn at a very fast rate - will study/research!
When Bashar left, Dean said he was "rooting for me", because engineering terminology aside, he thinks I'd be the best match, for technical and personality. They need someone to start Monday, and have 2 other people to interview. Dean is going to talk to Bashar to speak to him about me, and maybe I'll be called in for a 3rd interview. I'll let you know

Verona, ON

Woooo Hoooo Crissy!!! I did a jig in the court parking lot I was so happy to be rid of my first DH. I can just picture you doing that too.

Home from the dentist.... not too bad today. One upper front cap that came out is back in and Doc says it is got for another 30 years. It is already 39 years old.Major work being done June 19, so I will be able to smile when I get to Betty's.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oooooh Dianne - I'm sure you'll smile from ear to ear when you get to Betty's - regardless of your mouth. I can just picture the reunion of those who've been there before, and those new to visiting Betty et al!!

lol I danced in the rain when I got rid of my 1st hubby too!! Actually went out in a thunderstorm and danced in the new power of my freedom!!!!!! Are you sure we 3 aren't soul mates? lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, I'll be at the end of the road waving you in, excited to give you hugs but know I'll have to fight Debbie off if she's at the house when you get there!!!

Verona, ON

Susan I feel terrible I forgot to tell you how excited I am at the way the interview went.Sending powerful positive thoughts that you get that 3 rd interview.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

WOOHOOOO Susan!!!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

My goodness, Dianne - don't feel terrible on my account! You're such a sweetheart!! Thanks for the powerful, positive thoughts!!!
It's a possibility they need a 3rd interview, or maybe not - they may hire without needing one. I think the HR guy just wants to stress to the boss that he's asking too much for the position. After all, Dean is "rooting" for me. They've called me in for 2 interviews, knowing I don't have an engineering degree, and I get the "sense" that HR thinks Bashar is putting more obstacles in the way than is necessary. After all, he was "burnt" by the last inexperienced person who texted a lot and left the building inappropriately. I can see where Bashar is coming from, but it's not necessary in my case. After all, just because Bashar works a 70 hour week, doesn't mean they expect ME to LOL
Thanks so much for your concern, Dianne, but I'll either get the job, or I won't. Friday Professional Group would find me a job, regardless.

mulege, Mexico

Warning: never order from Reimer seeds. I found their site through Google and ordered without checking them out here. Big mistake. Remind me to always check the Garden Watchdog before ordering from a new company. I also ordered from JLHudsonseeds and just got a nice email telling me the seeds have been sent.

Betty, there are times when I think I was crazy to take on this house. Other times I think it's what keeps me getting up in the morning. Another thing Tony and I talked about today is putting on blinders when it seems overwhelming. There are some jobs we know we need to tackle but, for now, we just laugh and say "not today." Besides all the work he does on the house he helps me stay on an even keel. I like knowing that his family will inherit the house and I often think of them whle we are working on it.

I'm pinning the hems on my curtains. It's so hot the A/C barely seems to make a dent And it's just starting to really warm up.

hugs, katie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Never hear of that seed company, and thanks for the heads up, not good reviews at all!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hurray Crissy! One step closer toward the light at the end of the tunnel.

Dianne, glad all went well at the dentist...how is Streaky?

Susan, good on you. Confidence and a positive attitude...Hope Bashar is smart enough to see that.

Katie, Tony sounds like a brother from a different mother...so glad you have him in your life. You have a safe journey and I hope you have a grand time.

Betty, glad you are getting good relief from your cough.

Good thoughts and big hugs to you all.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

awwwwwwww thanks for the big hugs, Jean! Can never get enough of Those!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Looks like Betty went home and crashed? Wonder what her surprise is?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg, did indeed crash..got home, put my head back on chesterfield and just now woke up. Just walked to the bedroom and now ready to sleep all night. Talk about zonked!!! Tired but no cough.. Was I suppose to have a surprise??

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry, you said, "told Suzanne I'd meet her there, she said she has news for me". Hope it was good news!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Look what I got off the curb from a neighbor! I need to clean it up, and make a foot board, and side rails, but it will be my bed of roses! Don't know if I should strip it and paint it a different color?

LK - what a beautiful idea! Just make sure the wood is weather proofed........ and actually I like the colour it is now! I'm a great "wood tone" lover :-)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, drats I'm sure this June will go down in history as the wettest June ever!! Looking at next 10 days and there is little but rain. Sooo need to cut my grass, know neighbors would not be pleased if I turned lawnmower on at this time of morning but after 8:30 am on duty and wouldnt be able to hear phones if lawnmower was running, then have to head to town once 3pm comes so no cutting todat. Hmmm calling for rain all day tomorrow so might be growing a a two foot grassed lawn! Dianne and Debbie think you are getting the same?

lindaKay love the headboard .. You could give it a light sanding, paint it (maybe a light beige/off white) and then sand the heck out of it, focussing on all the raised areas and make it antique looking.. It will be a lovely addition for your garden.

The 'surprise' (joke) meant I thought I could just leave but I had no wheels seeing as I came in with Suzanne! Lol

Well not a cough..dreaming all night but not coughing, maybe brought on by meds..

barb, how is the mystery quilt project coming?

Damp here this morning, off to make us all a coffee!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I just picked up the next clue for the mystery quilt. It has me cutting more fabrics and starting to put small pieces together. When I do it, I'll post a picture for you.
Norm had his three year cancer checkup yesterday and it came out clean!!!!! So this weekend - we celebrate. Don't know what we are going to do yet but we are doing!!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Great news Barb! You guys must be so happy getting that news! Enjoy your special day!

Betty, call over one of the Grandson's and pay them to cut your grass. They would be tickled to earn money from Grandma!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dropping in with a hi..Cathy dropped in for a few minutes, she feels badly not being able to cut my grass as she normally does...it's a pd day for Noah, just brought his longboard to show me and was with a few friends off to do the trail..I was in the secret garden and he was in the house searching for me..Kids sat for a few minutes to have a pop..said ohhh look at the butterfly near the flowers...Noah had to tell them I like 'fake' so now back out to have a look what I can get into and still listen for the phones.

Lndakay, Kyle works evenings and weekends, Noah also works part time so little chance of them cutting it..I love cutting grass and using the trimmer, just that with rain when I'm home miss out on it, then come during the week there is sunshine but I'm too tired when I get home.

Barb, what absolutely fantastic news re Norm being cancer free..you must dread his going not knowing what the outcome will be.

Anxious to see your project..

Beautiful out there right now!

Verona, ON

Have a fantastic celebration Barb and Norm. Wooooo Hoooo!

Pouring rain agian - this has to stop, we are all gurgling here. Lots of peoples' basaements flooded. Glad I don't have to worry about it here.

Please send positice thoughts.... Streak is at the vet. I am waiting for more info. My heart is breaking and of course in such a fragile state I am thinking the worse. I will be completely crushed to lose another member of my family in such sort time.

Betty what about your little helper you had earlier this spring? Or is he too young for the job?

Dianne

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Barb - yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay - what wonderful news to wake up to!! (alright, I've been up for 2 1/2 hours, but WOW, what awesome news!!) I can well imagine you're going to celebrate!!!!!! Give Norm a hug from all of us, and I'm sure you're "Over The Moon" with the news!!

Betty - I guess all this rain for you means it will be over by the time people arrive for your RU - AND your gardens will be sooooo lush!

Speaking of gardening, it's 8:30, supposed to rain by 11'ish, so I'd better get over to Marlene & Wilma's to plant their garden and tend their yard! Don't know how much "dry" we're going to get this week lol

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

(((((Dianne)))))) omygosh - cannot even imagine what you're going through right now. Of course you're feeling fragile. How old is Streak? y'know that furries grieve too, so that may be what's going on with your Streak.......
Positive thoughts, prayers, and energy going to you and Streak today.

Y'know........I'm sometimes glad I don't have a basement (mobile home, y'know......) and especially so now with the rain we've been getting. Our church's basement was flooded - and the toilets are overflowing so they can't be used. Apparently the older pipes from City property line to the church are disintegrating, and because it's on the Church's property they have to pay. They're hoping the City will give them a break because they're a charitable organization, and we would borrow $$ from Presbytery, but it's coming at a bad time...... we have the Calgary Stampede coming up at the beginning of July, and there's an 85th birthday celebration this Saturday. The family is going to rent a "port-a-potty" so the church can accommodate the celebrants..........

Well, I'd best get going to Marlene & Wilma's place to do some planting of flowers and tending their garden. The clematis around the gazebo is Way out of Control!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sending prayers and positive thoughts your way Dianne for both you and Streak! I think animals mourn as well. Darlene was extremely anxious about the health of her 2 kitties a few months ago...she and Mike had no children and these kitties are everything to her so when they started to get ill she also thought the worse..she would have been devastated but as the vet said, give them extra loving and go through their mourning process and see what happens..they are starting to be playful and are back into their antics..Sooo hooe that is what is wrong with Streak.

Almost perfect day here, no signs of rain..will be ready to leave for town at 3 and back home by 4:30 and ready to get the lawnmower out if it remains sunny.

I've been in and out and have not taken off my shoes, this means vacuum/washing of floors before I go it.

Susan, hurry hurry before the rain starts

Dianne I'm also sending positive thoughts!

Barb so glad to hear that news!! Have a blast whatever you decide to do!

Betty I bet Cathy does feel bad, I know I would. LOL about the joke, I missed it too!

Susan that sucks about the church basement and plumbing, yuk!

It's been hot and dry here, supposed to be 90* today with a heat index up to 104*. BLAH!!!!

Well I'm getting more work done, I'm going to go to dinner with a girlfriend tonight so I'm staying busy (lol like I haven't been anyway) to make the time go by fast!

mulege, Mexico

Great news, Barb. Have a wonderful celebration.

I'm still working on the curtins. Feeling pretty good. And hot.

Looking forward to traveling.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

70 here, nice breeze, perfect kind of day! Tomorrow 90% rain so I'll leave the snide work until then. Have a wheel barrel full of weeds and I don't see a dent in what is yet to be picked..

Was thinking I should leave some weeds for the gathering, am sure they wouldn't mind help to pull them...nah..best I not do that!

Hanging those new curtains Katie will make a mega decorating statement!

Can hardly hold my head up, soo want to have a nap but no can do

Off to wash up, get out of my gardening clothes and head to town..will be a quick trip and back!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Dianne, so sorry to hear about Streak! Hope you have some good news for us?

Betty, be careful driving if your that tired!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

No rain - worked in her yard for 4 hours.......... pruned some trees, clematis (gone wild!), planted pansies, and petunias, cleaned out her gazebo (clematis leaves ALL Over) and generally cleaned up. I also set out her patio and gazebo furniture. Phew............ I'm tired. It's a bit breezy, but not sure if we're having rain until Much later.......
Gotta go have lunch.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Oh, forgot to mention -

The interview went well, but I didn’t get the job because the boss wanted someone who was fluent in Engineering terminology, and I’ve a smattering of entry-level knowledge. After the boss left the interview, the HR rep said “I’m pulling for you because, terminology aside, I think you’d be a good “fit” for the boss – you’re smart, have a great work ethic, and I think your personality is a good match for him. I’ll have a talk with him and see if we can get you in for a 3rd interview”. Well, the boss really was “burned” by the last person, so I guess he wasn’t ready to try out someone who didn’t already have the terminology knowledge. Btw – they were both really impressed with my interview……..

However, the agency would like to put me forth for a one year term with another company that is also engineering, and they want someone who has had exposure to Oil & Gas. As a minimum, they will pay me $30/hr!!!! That will be enough extra for me to get benefits for Bob & I. And a year in the industry would be good on my resume – I could then get another job in Oil & Gas. The thing is, they want someone with my office qualifications.
She just sent my resume over late this morning, so I’ll let you know if I get an interview.

Verona, ON

Streak is on intervenous fluids overnight. his blood work was fine. I am now wondering if it isn't stress and he is mouring Warren and Stormy in his own way. I sure hope so!! I need him to be my in my face cat but humungous cuddle boy.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

My cat mourned her mom for about 2 years! She was always looking for her, and licked the hair off her own tummy, she was so upset about not finding her mom.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Dianne, we will keep Streak in our prayers!

Susan, sorry you did not get that job, praying the next interview works out!

Verona, ON

Sending positive thoughts about the next interview Susan!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I just got a call from an agency that I haven't worked for, for 5 years, and they found my resume on Monster.ca. Their question was, 'when you were no longer working, why didn't you call us?!?!' They have an excellent record of when I worked for them before, and they want people with my skillset to work for them. They've asked me to do a "skills test" which they emailed to me, and I'm going in for an interview 7:30 am Wed.
She was really building me up for my skills and I feel quite flushed with the compliments she paid me......
Mind you - "proof is in the pudding" and we'll see about them getting me a good perm job.

Victoria Harbour, ON

You got to hit paydirt Susan with that many interviews..here's hoping!

Dianne, did the vet say it was a possibility?? Maybe a night with intravenous will have him home and being the best he always is...I'm sure he's a comfort for you.

Just got home, not raining but feels like rain! I really should go out and cut as much grass as I can but no energy. Always tomorrow they say. Got cheeseburger dinner next door..fries are yummy as is the cheeseburger..saves me from cooking and dishes..oh happy days

Verona, ON

We just had another tonatdo warning lifted. T and L out there and forecasted for most of the next 24 - 48 hours. Those poor brides!!! Give me a good old snowstorm anyday.
