Betty I would write another email that says something along the lines of "Sweetie you really don't have to do that, you know I love you and your friendship is all that I need and want." then add some stuff to it, maybe throwing in that if she really feels that she has to do that then go ahead, but that's not what you want. Tell her that you are more than happy to wait until you can go to Buffalo and remind her that it's not her fault you caught a stupid cold.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? chat with friends!
Mary, Acadiana Spring is gorgeous!! Can see you are not excited just by your not knowing to the second how long is left for disney lol sure wish I could join you! Is May and June the months that your garden is it's nicest, before the extreme heat??
Debbie, it would be hard for any of us to understand how very special it was to meet your brothers after so many years of being separated..it's a dream come true for you and one you will never forget!!! Keep those photo's close to you, even the ones that are a little hazy..lol How did Paul fare all by himself..bet the kids were overwhelmed with joy that you got to go on this adventure.
Jean, went on the link, omg those cajun's are beyond beautiful..I'd have been really upset as well....we do have hibiscus that survive our harsh winters but I've not had luck with them..think Rose of Sharon and mallow is part of that family, those do make it but just barely..will you replace those beauties that froze???
Betty, I haven't heard one word from the kids about my trip or even heard from any except "the child" since I got home, and that was to talk about her knee surgery next week and fire in apartment building next to hers. Not a "how was your trip".
Paul did his usual with me gone, moved everything in the cabinets and out of my reach. I might move in with Crissy.
Come on down Debbie!!!
Death supercedes some promises....tell her it is time with both her and before his passing, Mike, that you were most looking forward to....the entryway just gave you all an excuse to be together and you love them both for it....but now, you would rather wait til both you and the weather feel a bit nicer...grin...and have a lovely weekend with her. If she protests...tell her not to...she's paying...grin
Haven't read anything but I want you to know that my guy was taken to the hospital yesterday by ambulance. He will not be coming home. I have just come home brieflly for a shower and to sort the dogs and cats. Santa Warren looks so serene and calm it makes me almost not feel to bad about breaking my promise to him. I so wish his passage will be a swift one.
Dianne
Dianne...warmest kindest thoughts to Santa Warren.....he has earned his rest. Hugs and good thoughts for the strength you'll need.
I'm so very sorry about Santa Warren Dianne! We as mortals can only do so much, you've been there for him every step of the way, am sure he would not see it as a broken promise. May he soon be a peace..
Hugs coming your way!
You have such a way with words Jean!! tks
Hey Betty, she may have also promised her husband that she would "finish" things for him....ya have to find a way to let her do that for herself and Mike, that you can both live with.
Dianne and Santa Warren
Sending Warm Arm wraps for you both.
I am praying as you are.
So glad, he is so serene too.
I don't think he will mind about the promise.
Jean, Mike was in the house transferring his earned pointz to buy Darlene and I vouchers for hotel rooms (Best Western) he was just in the process of ordering when he went outside to clean off the b.b.q. and never came back in, was brain dead when he fell so no promises were made between them..
when I found myself alone after a separation (2nd marriage) with less than $30 in my pocket they kind of adopted me, so you can see just how special they are (were) and a lot of time we worked side by side making the dump I bought liveable..the house has come a long way as have I, think she in some way feels she has to spoil me and keep me on the right track..you don't find friends like that very easily
Betty they may have not made promises to each other in person, but she may have made promises to him after his death, like "Don't worry Mike, I'll take care of Betty's Buffalo trip"
Dianne, sorry to hear about Warren! Sending lots of comfort prayers to you with lots of ((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))
((((((((((Dianne))))))))))))) I post this with tears in my eyes - Santa Warren is peaceful about his imminent passing, and God has blessed you both with each other. HE will also bless you with memories that are full of love for each other.
I, too, hope for a swift passing for him. The hospital will take care of him. How wonderful that you were able to be at home together for these past few days. You and the furries were blessed with the time with him........
I will pray for all of you to find the quiet in your souls that you need.......

Thought I would check in before heading to bed, wanted to see if Dianne had posted. Both she and Warren have become close to our hearts, part of our Dg family! See we are all here with same sadness and concern...
Off to say prayers
tears not stopping... Dianne... Santa Warren understands... ((HUGS)) for Santa Warren ((HUGS)) Dianne and hugs for Stormy and the furries....
Cant sleep, thoughts are with Dianne!
Thinking of my own dad who passed away 9 years ago today..you never stop missing those who walk in the gardens of the Lord..
Morning all, light rain and fog moving in, gardens are loving in!
On my way home yesterday I picked up another lilac tree, salesman said dark purple, here is hoping he is right..wanted to plant it last night but pouring rain led me to place it in the garden for a good soaking by mother nature until tonight.
Thoughts are with Dianne and Santa Warren this morning..hope Dianne managed to get a few hours here and there and is eating..she will need her strength in the days to come..sending hugs.
Lazy this morning so am moving rather slowly, I'll get the muffins if someone will make the coffee
So ladies, what do you have planned for the day, anything exciting?
Oh Dianne...my heart just breaks for you. Warren knows how hard you tried to keep your promise to him to be able to stay at home until the end, and you my dear friend gave your all. You made it possible for Warren to be home with you and the furbabies while he was still able to communicate and comprehent what is going on around him and that is what your promise was about. Praying very hard that the good Lord wraps our Warren in his arms and takes him home where he is free of pain.
Bernie and I are sending you all our love and tons of hugs, and remember we are only a phone call away.
All of us here are walking right beside you in spirit and holding you tight.
Love you
Thea
Oh Dianne, what can I say to you that hasn't already been said here? Norm and I are so very sorry that Warren's time has come but so grateful to God that his suffering is ending. I write this as the tears flow and my heart seems to swell with love and comforting thoughts for you. I am still amazed at how strong the feelings of friendship are for someone I spent an hour with on a Monday morning. We love you my friend and are there by your side. May God bless you with His strength and Warren with His grace.
Amen Barb. God Speed Santa Warren.
Amen, very well said!
Spending the next 2 days at home..got a call from Suzanne at 6:30 this morning letting me know she was starting to sniffle and would appreciate me staying home seeing as I am still coughing/hacking and feverish!!
So here I am, home again
Just had my coffee, muffins, grabbing my rag quilt and will rest.
Good Morning.
We had a major rain yesterday.....just shy of 7 inches in about 4 hours....I can hear the weeds laughing and growing 8-(
Betty...has your Dr ruled out pneumonia? There have been a number of cases of "Walking Pneumonia" diagnosed over the past 2 months across the US. that is what put my FIL in hospital.
I am just so sad :(
Hope nobody minds if I post this little prayer that I have found
Loving God, thank you for Warren and for the wonderful gift of his time with us.
Thank you for the joy he brings to our lives and the lives of everyone who loves him.
Thank you also for the people who give him joy, those who love him, past and present.
We pray today for strength for Warren in his body and in his spirit.
Strength to find whatever healing there is in this time and place, strength as he waits to come home to you when he’s ready.
We pray for courage for his family as they support him and love him and surround him in care.
Mostly, God, we pray for peace.
Peace for Warren in his body as the pain fades away, peace for his family in their hearts as they wait with him and peace for Warren in his spirit as he finds his true peace in you.
As in all places, help us know that you are here with us, granting your peace.
Amen
Never alone Dianne...we are all with you...
Amen...
Thank you Thea..beautiful photo!
Amen.
Thank you Thea, A beautiful Prayer.
Also for sharing a Photo of Dianne and Santa Warren.
Dianne and Santa Warren,
I had a prayer fire last night, holding you both in my heart.
Oh Betty, so glad you are home today...Does this mean no phones too?
Sure hope so so you can get in a good rest.
Today, I will be in and out all day...Going to the Project house, Lots and Lots of yard work.
I'll be picking Jake up for lunch so will check in then.
...PS, DH & the Cuz's House Sold!!! They did a walk through inspection yesterday...Closing soon.
Great news Judy. Sounds like all the hard work is finally paying off. Kudos to Jake...is he cooking lunch? grin
Hope you and Jake are putting on the ritz and going out for lunch..well deserved, know he has been working at the project house as well! The house is in such a nice neighborhood..remember passing there on my last visit and took photo's of a couple of deer a few doors down.
You and Steve must be thrilled that it's closing..Steve put a lot of work into the project..he is such a professional. Hope you all made mega dollars in the sale. Will he attempt another project like this or is he now too busy?
I have the phones bit they are so quiet..one call since 8am..that's good news for me..
You know how these computers have word recognition and changes words to what it. Jinks it should be?? Well I was so laughing, commercial on tv this morning, lady in bed with Kleenex and laptop, send a message to work..was to have read ' sick in bed with a cold, can't come in'. She reads it after pressing send and it says. 'in bed with a clown, can't come in'. I sooo can see that happening!
Dear Dianne & Warren
My heart and prayers are with you at this time. I understand and know what you are feeling at this time. Please know that Warren is in God's arm wrapped with love and peacefulness. He will be young again and never hurt and he will await for your arrival some day to be him iin this wonderful place he will be going to. His love will always be with you. Just know that we are all there with you and always.
With love, prayers and warm arm wraps now and always -
Shirley
Amen
Beautiful prayers ladies, and picture too Thea, thank you all for posting these.
Judy YAY on the house!!!!
Well I'm up and running so I'll check in later.
Betty glad you're staying home!
Meant to tell you, Betty, that we had the sweetest card from Cathy. She is truly a dear person. Hope you feel better soon.
I heard from heart doctor that I passed my stress test and I am now cleared to go to pulmonary rehab. I go for an evaluation on Friday.
Finally getting this show on the road again!!!!
Touching for sure, heart breaks for all the sadness being felt..know though we are not alone, our dg friends walk alongside of us!
You are at work though aren't you Crissy? Sending you hugs..know you are hurting!
Ann just dropped in, she had been to town and picked me up 6 shrubs, put them under the overhang of the house and warned me they are not to be planted until the weekend when not so damp out..guess I best listen, 2 weigelia 's and 4 spirea...
How is Ann doing now? It wasn't that long ago that she was under the weather too.....
