Great that Greg brought your a vaperizer!! I gather from the name that is has a spot to put Vicks in it?
some of them you buy a little packet that has vicks in it, and you put that in a particular spot. Great idea!
Understand he didn't want to be around such a "sickie" and get Your cold............ oh well, sick people need hugs more, y'know! Which is why I insist on hugging sick people. I only got this cold when I cleared out my sinuses..... NOT from hugging any sickie - didn't know of any for 3 weeks previous, so I'm SURE it wasn't that...... I know it was clearing out my sinuses - think I 'disturbed' something in them.....

That is exactly the kind of machine, pull off the tab and slip it in, amazed that I could breath easier within a few minutes, no kidding!

Going to my bedroom..if I fall back asleep at least I will be comfy.

Santa Warren is home!!! Tuckered right out by home. He is very frail and needs t be watched almost constantly.

Difficult night for Santa Warren, I now know why they had to put an alarm on his bed.Just so glad he is home. His is so fragile and weak now it makes me want to cry. He is so thin he cannot tolerate even the smallest back rub ... and that was one thing he loved.

Mary, hope you have a blast but I know meeting up with DG members and there are plants involved how could you not?

How did movie night go Susan? Your movie night is a perfect example of why less rather than more is so wonderful.

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!
Sorry to hear that Warren had a rough night! If he does not have a comfy mattress, you can go out and buy what they call an egg crate foam pad. It is about 2 or 3 inches thick, and adds cushion to the bed. I had one for my Dad, and he loved it.

Dianne, there is memory foam also but without a lot of body flesh and his being in so much pain, don't know if it would help! We're you able to get any sleep? Hardest thing I ever had to do was sitting with Roger those last days , not being able to do anything to ease his pain and all the while being so frightened of what was to come....my heart goes out to you Dianne, soft hugs for Santa Warren

Movie night was great - although because I didn't sleep well the night before I napped a bit through it, and so did Bob lol
The Queen was well-portrayed by Helen Mirren - she's an awesome actress! Gave a great insight into what the Queen might have been like & had to deal with in the aftermath of Princess Dianna;s death.

Got to bed in good time last night, and got up at a "normal" time this morning. Bob made brekkie of scrambled eggs. His cold is getting worse just as mine is getting better.
Hope to get my car fixed today - think we can afford the gas tank. There's one available, we just need to contact our mechanic.....

Morning everyone!

Betty, I am feeling a lot better, and we are going to San Antonio this afternoon, as hubby has a hearing test Monday morning. Everyone that works on the flight line has to go every few years for a hearing test. So we are going to meet up with Andy and the family tonight for dinner.

Now that is a way to start a Sunday morning..what kind of work does your hubby do, 'flight line'? not sure what that means..sounds exciting though! You will not forget to take your camera? Will you be staying until tomorrow night..

Up almost every hour on the hour last night..took meds, sniffed vicks and this morning my head feels a little better but chest still rattling so I'll not do anything but laying on the couch or in bed is a bit much..I had finished the stained glass piece for Sharon early last week and set it aside..all that is needed is putting the black finish on the outside frame (came) so that it sitting and painting with what is just like finger nail polish..can't get into much trouble just doing that.

Todd works for civil service, at the air force base, he works on the ejection seats on the jets. So he is on the flight line most of the time when the jets are running, and it is hard on the ears, even though they wear ear protectors, most of the guys have hearing problems.
Betty, sounds like you may have bronchitis? Don't let it go too long, go to the Dr. and have it checked out please?

That is interesting LindaKay..would imagine many working there have no hearing left..is it just precautionary or do they think he needs hearing aids?

If I stopped being around stuff that i am allergic to, I wouldn't have the furbabies or a garden...and that is just not acceptable...can't imagine a day without Benny and Sophie or Mia,Max and Bob....or flowers....

Sounds like you've quite a household! Likely if I had allergies it wouldn't deter me from having them either..all are to precious to give up and as for gardens just couldn't.

We lost our sweet big boy, Chester, a springer Spaniel, right before New Year's....the only thing I do not miss is the mountain of hair he shed a couple times a year....the Beagles together don't account for that much, and the runny , itchy eyes every time I brushed him....

A big loss Jean..Sailor my border collie sheds an awful amount. Going to have the groomer shave her a bit at her May grooming.

Laying here listening to my chest weezing like crazy and coughing up a storm..think I will have a snooze if I can then go to emerge just Fternoon midnight when hings re bound to be quieter!

Did you check out the guafeinsin /mucinex? It really did work wonders at loosening and clearing my chest.

Because of high blood pressure meds pharmacist recommended extra strength benzoin mucus and phlegm relief..

Our mechanic came by yesterday to start working on my car.
And today 2 "angels" at our Church gave me some $$ to help with groceries (a gift) and fixing my car (a loan).
So, we're covered for that.........
Bob cut out some drywall and placed the wood for behind the shelves. He took the wood out to show me that there was no insulation in the wall (used to be an exterior wall, but now that the den had been added on by a previous owner, it's an interior wall - still, should have insulation I think.......)

My car "should" be finished by the end of the day.
Another friend gave me a ride to Church (Bob wasn't well enough to go to Church and I didn't think he should go out in the damp weather....) and then a ride to the corner store - picked up some soup and ColdFX for Bob & I, plus some tomatoes...... yum, for sandwiches!

Betty I hope this finds you snoozing. I am so glad to read you might consider going to the ER tonight Did you keep notes on how you have been feeling???? Sure hope so. I find it saves lots of time plus I know sometimes I forget every thing that went on. Please don't let this visit go by the wayside.

Very happy to have Santa Warren home. Won't sugar coat what I have to say and claim everything is peachy keen when it is not. I knew what I was in for when I brought Warren home at this stage of his disease.The W that came out of the hospital in no way resembles the W that went into the hospital. The changes in his meeds have really helped so I am grateful for that. He knows you have all been sending his positive thoughts and pprayers and he does appreciate them as I do. I have to tell him things in little bits as he cannot concentrate for more than a few minutes but he keeps telling me when I retell him something one of you has said 'these people are really sweet ladies. How can they be so nice to me when they haven't even met me?"

Hope Mary had a great time at her swap. Betcha her DH was surprised at how boisterous and giving DG members are.

Debbie is sure to have had and is still having a fantastic time with Shoe and her other brother. Those 3 probably talked up a storm. Bet their sides were aching from so much laughing and the remember whens.

(((((((((((((Dianne & Warren)))))))))))))) I know that I haven't met either of you, but that several DG'ers have, and it must sadden you Dianne, when he doesn't remember things. Is it the meds that's causing his memory lapses because pain meds often do of course. When my dad was in with bone cancer 30 years ago, they had him on morphine and it affected his memory. He didn't always remember who we, his kids, were but the day before he passed he remembered all of us. It was a blessing, but it's scary to those that know and love someone in this condition.

Dianne, it must be breaking your heart seeing him like this. The hours /days/weeks that are left are sure to give Santa Warren a feeling of peace being home with all he holds dear in the world ! From the heart , just know we would be there helping if we could!

I know Betty, I know you all would be here in a flash to help if you could. I treasure that thought and hold it close to my heart.
