I WAS going to make a 1770 House Meatloaf that I saw on a TV show, but as Bob didn't get the veal (And it was frozen) until 4:30, that will have to wait until tomorrow.
I pulled some frozen (cook from frozen) stuffed chicken cutlets from the freezer, and they're on for 30 minutes.
Will be done in one minute, then Bob & I can "finish" our dinner when he gets home. He doesn't like bowling on a too-full tummy... thinks it affects his game LOL
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends
Hello to ALL !
Katie - My money's on these gals to help you figure this out... Between Debbie's experience and Jean's googling expertise and the above... LK, etc.....
Missing Shirley as well.... Betty everytime I see/think of K F C I think of her and Tubby....
Laura - too.... please drop in ! Any camping trips planned ? School will be out soon ?
Deb - too funny a screw loose.....will Shane stay at home for Summer ?
Thea - you've got a LOT of tomatoes planned ! Do you freeze/can them? (HUGS) Barb I do think a screened porch would be perfect....
Dianne - Thank you for the irish coffee.... laughing at my friends and their boots Susan!.... I actually have a pair and never worn them....hand me downs from DNiece.... Pink flowers.....

Jean and I wish we could "Beam" you all down today... we had some pretty nice weather albeit almost Record cool temps....
Can't wait for you to meet Hubs Betty - But I know you will steal him from me... that's okay.... I am expecting it... ya'll are two peas in a pod with your artistic ability.... but he and I are too funny sparring now on "who knows what" about gardening.... LOL..... I still have much to learn...but is nice to feel like I know a thing or two and DS's GF's mom Sylvia asking ME questions... go figure...
HUGS
Mary
pink flowers........... Gotta SEE them, Mary - picture please lol
Betty - YOU didn't think about the young hunks? Yeah, likely send someone who's old (like Sean Connery? LOL)
Well, Bob not only has an interview tomorrow, but an employment agency "picked up" my resume from Monster, and emailed me with a questionaire. When they phoned me on it they told me it was a job with AHS (Alberta Health Services). I worked in their HR dept for 6 months last year (Dec 2010 to June 2011), and their subsidiary (Calgary Lab Services) CLS for 2 1/2 years with a Wonderful Christian man (Leland) who, with his new wife Laura, are now friends of mine and I'm making them lap quilts LOL
The agency is sending my resume & reference letters (from Leland and his team of Drs) from CLS. If it's meant to be, it WILL be........ Initially it's a 6 month+ job, but who knows - it might become perm....... Anyway, it's a Technology Analyst, and they're pleased with the A/V work I've done with CLS, plus the other things I'm knowledgeable about, so.....
Well, Bob & I aren't going to go "over the moon" about either job until we have some definites! His interview is tomorrow at 9am, and I'm waiting to hear back from someone at AHS to see if they're interested in me.
GREAT NEWS SUSAN! YAY! All this work finally paying off.....
well, we're not celebrating yet - we'll wait to see if I get an interview, and also to see what Bob's interview gets.
I'm a realist (Bob's become one too, with my help lol)
We know that getting an interview doesn't get the job all by itself! There's a lot of hard work ahead to get the job, cuz there's more than one person that needs this job. If it's not meant for us, then someone else is getting Their need met......
Wind howling woke me up, looked outside, no snow yet, flowers are excited about that!
Susan, fantastic news, know its not a job commitment but without the opportunity of an interview so you can shine there is no job!
Mary how is the job going? i'm for the beam "me down Scotty".B wonder if ( not in my day) scientists will develop a way to do so..is the pool water at a high temp, like my swim warm?
Should try this sleep thing...
Oh Betty sometimes I think this sleep thing is highly over rated.lol
Sending positive thoughts Susan for you and Bob.
Morning all,
Dianne, had I thought you were up I would have come back and chatted! Guess its also due to mind not shutting down. Hope Santa Warren has gained more strength and there is news of his going home.
Morning again!
Heavens Betty I got up when you did too.lol Not much sleep here but can't stop the mind from buzzing.
Have some business to take care of in Kingston today so won't get to see my guy until late afternoon. On the phone he was much more alert than he has been in a long while. I think they might have found the answer with this pain patch.
Katie hope you get some answers soon for all of your pain areas. Safe travels when you come north. Hope you are able to get your ambulance when you come north.
My cleaning lady is here ..... she is just a delight. Gulped a couple of times when I pay her but it is so worth it, especially now that it is Spring and the critters bring in lots of mud and muck.
Very envious of all your southern gardens. Yesterday's snow did a number on a few things in the garden, especially the daffodils. Mary I am so glad to read that your DS's GF's DM is coming to you for advice on her garden. Must make you feel pretty good about how much you have learned about gardening. I can just visualize you and DH 'sparring' over garden issues. lol
The trilliums are about 2 - 3 weeks early this year. The woods around the house are full of them . They are not all white which is nice too.
The red squirrels and I are having a conversation about the mulch pails. I keep them out on the deck in the winter and these little squirrels have decided I am providing them with their daily sustenance. They seem to particularly partial to pineapple - enough in fact to dig through the container and drag out the pineapple top and skin.
Need some suggestions to take into Santa Warren to eat. I took a fruit tray on Sunday and he really liked that.He gets lots of ice cream and Kozy Shack rice/puddings which he loves so that is out. I thought I wouldmake him a sandwich filled with deli sliced roast beef and lettuce. Maybe we can split it if he doesn't want the whole thing then I will remember to eat something other than cereal. Why does something from home taste so much better than what comes on the tray? He has lost all totalede over 80 lb since last July. Stick out his tongue and he would be a zipper.
LK forgot to metion how gorgeous baby Dylan is...... still mixing nights and days?
Debbie how are your eyes? Feeling any better?
Time to move to another room and get out of KAtie's way.
Make sure you all do something nice for yourself today ladies.
Dianne
Dianne, don't you love when there is a good mixture of white and pink/maroon trilliums..just know ours will be late, not that many miles between you and I but it seems you are so ahead of us with your gardens, perhaps it's Georgian Bay.
Enjoy Katie cleaning, you just can't be doing everything..hope you don't do what I used to do, clean before the cleaning crew got here lol
You brought a smile with your post today, can picture a human zipper although not the best of news..wow 80 lbs is a lot of weight, no wonder you had to go out and purchase new clothing. Bet you are in need of some as well. With all this worry/not sleeping or eating have you lost much?? Have to find something to fatten you up.
Odd kind of day, look out and it's raining, then you can almost see the sun trying to peak out, now rain is turning into the lightest snow..would doubt we would have any accumulation.
In my jammies and doubt I will get out of them today, chest is tight, was with Cathy and her dad on Saturday and he'd been I'll, Cathy called yesterday and said she had it and now I've the swivels and hacking..nice to be home
Off for neocitrin
Dianne, perhaps Santa Warren would be tempted with bits of cheese, fruit, croissants and dark chocolate? We made small sandwiches using flour tortillas, sour cream, swiss cheese, roast beef and/or turkey and baby spinach...roll them up and cut them into a few pieces...the sour cream helps to seal the tortilla and the smaller size makes them easier to eat..each one a bite or two. Also, food is more enjoyable when shared, so maybe have a meal with him as often as possible. Sort of like a picnic.... It would be good for you both.
When my FIL was hospitalized he had no appetite and great disdain for the food served. I bought some of the Boost/Ensure type protein drinks (Wal-Mart brand) in the vanilla flavor. Each evening, I would take one, add a banana, strawberries or peaches to it and whip it up in the blender and put it in the coldest part of the fridge...the next morning I dumped it in a small thermos and he would have it with his breakfast. He said later that sometimes it was easier to drink than eat, and I knew he was getting necessary protein and vitamins needed to help his body heal.
Good thoughts and big hugs for you both.
Jean
Boost is a favourite of Santa Warren's so I take him a couple of bottles each day. he even likes the Strawberry flavour! When he is ay home I sometimes add ice cream to the Boost. When I asked him what flavour he preferred he told me it depended on the hour.lol
Still chilly here with some wind blowing in off of the lake. That can stop any time if I had my way.
Need to have a shower and get myself presentable to go into Kingston.Have to sign my Income tax and take the POA in for Warren's.
D
Hi everyone!!!
I have read every single post and don't remember a lot but here we go!
Dianne I am so glad Warren is getting his color back and eating, even if it is little bits. Jean's right, it will be easier for him to eat if you eat, and that is good for both of you. I'll have a sandwich also, since you're making them lol
Katie so sorry you're in so much pain, glad the anti-depressants are working for you. I have no idea what to say on the arm issue, I think I would keep it as mobile as I could like you're doing and the doc said.
I miss Shirley too, maybe she'll have a minute to pop in pretty soon.
Susan it's 9:15 there, I hope Bob is having a good interview and I hope you get called for an interview! This has definitely gone on long enough!
That storm is really making a mess of things, according to The Weather Channel, I was looking at pictures people have sent in.
Betty love the geese! Quite the weather vane you got there!
Well I'm going to catch up on other threads and I'll be back, we have our big conference this week so it's still hectic here.
Dianne - we're married to zippers LOL Getting his colour back is good, and taste too. After losing all that weight, he'd have to be careful to eat slowly, I'm sure. I wish I had some suggestions. I'm just no good in that way, with someone else's DH. I always say prayers for Warren - and really glad the new pain patch seems to be working.
Katie - have you heard about your ambulance yet? Is heat or cold helping your arm?
Crissy - you handle hectic very well lol
Oh Shirley - where are you dear lady? We miss you!!
Betty, is all the snow gone? Have you called your "hunks" about the shed building?
I haven't heard back about a job interview, but it's early yet. I didn't get to sleep until 4:30 this am...... was handquilting the lap quilt. I tried to get to sleep, but my coughing kept me from sleeping (laying down, y'know.....) so I sat up and it settled down.
Bob called after nine, and asked for the ph# of the fellow he was to meet, because he said the address he had was wrong, so obviously he's late for his interview....... this isn't good when he's to be a part-time driver....... He assured the fellow yesterday that his map book would get him there alright........ blech!
Dianne, so glad that Warren is feeling better! Maybe he will come home soon?
Crissy, so glad to see you posting! Your way to busy girl, you need some time off!
Susan, sure hope he is not too late for his appointment. How did he get the wrong address?

Betty, sure hope your feeling better soon!
He didn't get the wrong address - it was just above the door, and small, so he didn't see it. I told him that he needed to have allowed more time to find it (even though, like any man, he was Sure he could find it easily......). He drove past it twice before phoning me. He did find it, but arrived 10 minutes late. Given the shortness of the interview, his answers he told me he gave, and his attitude, I'm positive he Di Not get the job. He simply wasn't ready for this type of interview and being late wouldn't have helped......
Crissy, wondered where you were..I'm with Susan, you do know how to do "pressure". Lol
You will be glad to see it all behind you!
Oh Susan, that is not good news..you should have practiced a interview with him..know many of people who lost jobs due to tardiness..actually when I did hiring for Amex when they first moved Space Bank to Canada I'd give the lessor knowledgeable individual the job vs the one who ran late..can always learn but tardiness is a hard trait to break (not in any way saying Bob isn't punctual)!
All bundled up, shivers. Brrrr, just turned up the heat..going to have another snooze
oh, Bob is punctual all right - usually to a "fault" if he doesn't have the keys to the building and no one else has arrived LOL
He'd never been to this particular building before, but knows the Area well.
One thing about Bob though.......... if it's something personal, he can be Such A Procrastinator.......... he was late to our Wedding, for pete's sakes!
Never to a job though!! Guess he has his "standards" LOL ! He didn't get Paid for coming to the wedding roflmfao
You are too funny Susan..he'll feel badly not getting it perhaps just because of being late! may he's read the signs wrong and may get a call!!
They told him they have several other interviews and they will be calling those short-listed on Friday
Guess it's one of those "ya hadda B there" type of moments when Bob explained how he did at the interview.....
He wouldn't stand out in my mind, if I were the interviewer, I gotta tell ya......
and he's a little stubborn (like most of us) when it comes to me telling him how to conduct an interview. It was only when I turned the tables and asked him how he'd like it if he were the customer and the delivery guy just left without finding out what was wrong............ and also that HE would be the 'face of the company' to the customer, cuz No One Else was around to talk to him......
Blah Susan, hate it when that happens and it has happened to the best of us.
You're not joking when you say I'll be glad to get it all behind me.
Thought I would move us into a new room
Here we go
