Morning everyone. I needed a treat this morning so I brewed Irish Cream Coffee. It smells divine and tastes good too!
No one told the storm that is hitting us with some wind, snow and sleet right now that it was supposed to be slow moving. It is going to rev up as the day goes on. Debbie you be careful out there. You are going Rochester way not Buffalo right? Sure hope so!Betty you be carefu out there as it is supposed to be bad this afternoon. Are the phones still switched over to your house?? Hint, hint!!
Have a friend Steve who will drive me into the hospital if I "have" to go in or if they decide to shut Warren and I up and let him come home.Thet are chaning the pain patch today to a stronger one so I imagine they will want to observe him for 24 hrs before letting him come home.
Laura how are you? How is the little man making out these days? Was the elimination diet a success for your son? A friend tried it with her teenage daughter with great success. This was over 12 years ago and Kathryn has been able to reintroduce many foods back into her diet.
Sending positive thoughts for Marti001. This is such an overwhelming time for her and her loved ones.
Dragged my huge SHp VAc upstairs yesterday so I would be ready to clean out the Escape and the Tang. Ddarn!! Not going to happen this morning that's for sure.
LK, feeling better?
I need coffee!!! BBL

Thanks for the coffee Dianne, it sounds really good! Hope the weather stays clear for your traveling! I am still stuffed up a bit, but getting better, thanks!
Dianne, having a coffee right along with you, sure wish I had baked muffins ! actually the telephones are switched here and unless Suzanne needs me for any reason I will be home all week. Oooh happy days, love it when Paul takes holidays (his 3rd flying to an exotic island).
Winds are picking up, geese aren't flying yet so not yet strong, love my weathervane! Lol
glad Steve will be around should you need to go to the hospital..hope the new pain meds help...know you want Santa Warren home with you but another few days and he should have a sunshine day to drive home in.
I'm with Dianne Laura, please just drop us an I'm ok post??
Going back to being home today, will play with Sharon's stained glass piece. I've a few pieces to fire so I can include in the piece, cut and foil a few..by weekend's end it will be done.
LindaKay it sure has taken a toll on you.
Have you seen the kitties again?
Paul was in the office last week and I've an itch in my thread, he better not have left his cold behind.
Yes, the kitties are still there. I thought Momma cat would move them, but they seem to like the spot they have chosen under the prickly pear cactus!
Does that mean they will stay with you or do they move on?
Barb and Debbie and Thea you be careful, from Breakfast Television you might be fighting the storm as well!
Guten Morgen everyone!!
Dianne...thank you for the coffee this morning...sure need that coffee this morning after waking up to SNOW!!!! I am glad you have Steve driving you to the hospital today...the roads have lots of heave wet snow on them and sure makes it hard to drive in...especially your longggggggggggg lane!!! Been praying so hard that soon Warren can come home with you. Sending you tons of hugs...always on my mind and heart.
Betty...so this week will be for you a little mini vacation!!! Enjoy your stay home and stay out of trouble!!! Don`t overdo it...this is the time to relax and to take it easy so your body can heal!!
Another busy day for me today...seeding more flowers and transplanting about 100 tomatoes into 4" pots.
Lots of hugs for everyone, stay safe and have a wonderful day.
Love Thea
Here is what it looks like this morning out my backdoor!!!
Good morning everyone. It's only much needed rain here. We haven't had any for about 7 weeks and the fire danger has been horrible. But we are getting the rain while you are getting the snow. Please be careful if you need to go out.....
I was thrilled when Norm walked the yard for me and told me that Tubby's tulip has three buds!!! I'm so excited - like a little kid ...
Off to get some coffee to join you all.....
And here some pictures taken from the front door.
It is raining mixed with sleet right now...so far no high winds and I hope we won`t get any. The poor trees are full of the heavy snow...my lilac almost bend to the ground...some of the birds already have nests with eggs in them...poor guys won`t know what hit them!!!
So far we have nasty rains turning to sleet. Ran out and covered a couple plants.
Am on my way to Rochester with The Child to get her loose screws checked out....kid you not, in her knee from surgery 2 years ago! Just like her Mom, loose screw! haha
Hugs to all, stay safe...should be back around 2:00.
Debbie
Very much the same scene here as at Thea's. Wonder what the peepers will do tonight?
Think I have found the perfect outdoor chaise for SW. It is by Laz-e-boy. I saw it at Canadaian Tire but before I purchase it I will check to see what the price is for it at the Laz-e-boy store. I know SW would kick up a stink if he knew the cost of the chair but he doesn't have to know, he just has to enjoy it. Right? It is not made out of aluminum, it is some kind of metal so is very sturdy. It is a little higher off of the ground so it is easier for W to get in and out of.....
Hoping I will not have to travel today, just waiting for the hospital to call.
Steve just pulled up, he is going to help me install 2 ceiling fans and a hand held shower apparatus for the upstairs bathroom. Looking forward to getting things ready for SW to come home.
Glad you are home Betty. Don't get a notion into your head to drive off somewhere. Remember even Frankie said the weather was going to get worse as the day goes on.
See ya later!
Dianne
Dianne...that chaise sounds wonderful and just perfect for Warren!!! I say go for it and buy it!! Who cares how much it costs (within reason), it will bring Warren so much enjoyment when he gets home and that is worth every penny!!!
I like the way you guys think!!! Gee, a screened gazebo would be great for me to be able to get the air without the bugs!!!!! Just a passing thought!!!!!!!s Heeheeheehee
Hi y'all!
Busy busy week-end! Worked in the yard on Saturday, and now we have winds and cold weather is back. LOL It's suppose to be in the 40's again. Poor tomatoes!
Dianne, sending prayers to Warren. Please be careful if you have to be out in that weather!
Thea, wow at all those plants! You must have some garden!
Oh Betty ... glad you got your geese home!
Linda, sending my prayers to Marti001.
Yea Mary!
Okay, got to get a movin ... Y'all have a blessed day!
Dianne, have you seen the ones that virtually lift you out of the chair?? Think it is electric I'm with the others, go for it! How wonderful that Steve is handy and willing to take on projects that need being done.
Thea, a thing of beauty..well at least to look at..is that your greenhouse, if so 'lucky lady'!
As for taking the roads, snow has not started here, say more towards late afternoon..do or would like to go pick up bevels at Gayle's so I can finish my project..get kitty food and quick run to Midland to check out finished garden sheds..absolutely won't go if it's snowing though.
Darlene dropped in on her way from town, she's having family friends for 3 days and needed a few things, just incase weather is bad..telephones got busy so she didn't stay long. Drats!
Barb, oh happy dance on 2 occasions, ne that Tubby's tulip is in bloom and that you have rain and not snow..let's hope it stays that way! Are you behaving, doing very little to exhaust yourself.
Thanks for posting the prayer request for Marti, Linda Kay. Marti has some really hard decisions to make and truly needs our good thoughts and prayers. She is strong, but we all need to know there are folks in our corner, rooting for us and hoping for the best on our behalf. She will be grateful for your prayers.
Barb so hoping it stays in bloom until the 28th..1st anniversary of Tubby going to the Lord!
The memory garden area I did had 2 cedar trees. ( have to pull them out, didn't survive the winter) and a shrub wreigelia's , it's got leaves but won't flower by the 28th.. this morning I remembered I have 2 old windows..was thinking of slumping dragonfly's and butterflies and gluing to window panes, then install cut 4x4's with crosser beam and hang on each side of wreigelia?? Hmmm if i do end up home all week or part of the week I could at least get windows done -we'll see!
Waving as you quickly pass by Suse, think you are on a mission today..take time for a latte
Jean, how is your neighbor doing....was the funeral service held last week? Prayers for Marti being said.
sorry Jean, thought it was more like Wedn or thurs.! Such a shock for him, am sure the days are a daze for him right now..he is in good hands though, am sure all you neighbors are watching over him.
What a pretty lily
Tubby's tulip is in bud now Betty. Maybe it will open in time for the 28th....Thinking of Shiirley and hope she pops in now and then. It's been a hard year for her but I really miss her so. I so looked forward to her daily commentary about life in Nebraska and I miss it....
Yes, miss her as well..loved reading her heart felt posts..seems so much has happened in the last year for her..wish we could bundle up some hugs..
You will have to get Norm out taking photo of the tulip!
Is Norm still enjoying his work, bet he'd love to stay home with you if for no other reason to keep you from doing things you should not.
Sure hope Shirley pops in again. She's such a lovely lady!
Jean - when you described Chris working out in the rain, my heart went out to him..... such a shock for him to get past when she passed so suddenly........
Praying for Marti .......
Bob got a call re: resume he sent on Friday - Elite International Foods. They called him in for an interview tomorrow at 9am. They need someone to drive a 5 ton cube van 2 days a week, and be Warehouse Supervisor the other 3 days. Bob's driven a 1 ton, and also personal school buses and U-Haul trucks........... so maybe that would qualify him for the 5 ton truck?!?! His driver's licence allows him to drive them - we'll see.about the interview and what transpires.
Well Susan, that sure is better than them calling to say they filled the position!
would imagine his drivers permit would allow him to drive 5 ton truck..can't remember what my bus license allowed me to drive, know it included an ambulance..
Best of luck ( and a prayer) for tomorrow's interview.
Rain is starting to freeze up and winds are just a howling, guess Dianne and Thea sent it my way!
His license won't allow vehicles with Air, but will allow regular vehicles, up to 5 ton.
I'm glad you're not going out in this, Betty - too windy, and hope the freezing melts quickly - be careful walking outside tomorrow (and today, of course - IF you're outside......)
We're having summer-like weather here - 20c now........ that's not to say we won't have our "regular" snow storms/blizzards yet to come. We can have them up to the end of May.........
Hi Friends, Temps in the 80's today. Sunny and clear. Just gorgeous.
No word on the surgery yet. Multiple problems with emails to Kaiser last week. I had a mimnor meltdown and started taking my anti-depressants again. I'm lucky in that they start working quickly and I'm already doing better.
Since Kaiser hasn't helped I'll ask medical question here. About three months ago, the bicep muscle on my right arm quite working. I cannot lift my arm above shoulder level. It hurts almost constantly and gives sharp pains when I try to force the use of it (or jerk my arm when startled by a bug). I have full use of my hands and other movement of my arm. I'm very right handed so it's a problem. The almost constant pain adds to my tiredness and depression. Doctor said not to imobilise it as the muscles atrophy very quickly.
Does anyone have any idea what might cause this kind of problem. It came on suddenly and seems to be limited to the bicep.
Prayers for everyone.
I'm waiting to hear from my friend in Ca. if I can go get the ambulance this weekend. Meanwhile, I'm sorting, organizing and cleaning up - too twitchy to do much of anything creative.
hugs, katie
Katie, sorry to hear your in so much pain, wish I had an answer for you. Sounds like a pinched neve maybe? Hope you can see the Dr. Soon. I agree, keep moving it as much as you can stand to move it. I had what the call frozen shoulder once, and the Dr. told me he had to put me to sleep, brake my shoulder, then repair it. I never went back, and just went home and forced myself to get it moving.
Take care.
Thanks, Linda. One reason it's so troublesome is that I've no idea what is going on. Pinched nerve may be it. It isn't frozen. katie
I agree with LK, and your Dr - keep it moving, as you don't want it to atrophy.
I also agree that it's likely a pinched nerve. Have you tried the cold on for 10 minutes, off for 30, or heat?
It could be a torn muscle or nerve too?
Oh Katie, that sounds like what my rotator cuff injury did...just like it! Couldn't lift my arm, couldn't hold anything at an angle. AND it ached back in my shoulder blade also...but that was because I had a bone spur back in that area. The doc did surgery, cleaned out the cuff and removed bone spur....and I was SO much better even 2 days out of surgery. They did some "tests" with movement and such....and then did xray and MRI to diagnose.
Keep moving it so your shoulder/arm doesn't freeze up for sure.
Trilliums are blooming, even the snow and sleet cannot make them hide their beauty today. I am drenched but feel invigorated after my tromp through the bush.
Picturing you "tromping" (I have a Very Vivid imagination lol) tromp, tromp, tromp......... pardon the army boots LOL
Glad you got to go for a tromp, but please don't get sick tromping out in the cold rain.

Evening all...not from a snowy neighborhood, rain/bitter cold due to wind factor but am sure it could still change..I'm for leaving it as it is.
Omg Dianne, you will have pneumonia walking in the bush..nothing like seeing our trilliums..haven't seen them here as yet..if nice tommorow will take the pathway and see if our are anywhere near blooming. How is Santa Warren today?
Katie, I so wish I was more knowledgeable as to offer suggestions, Lordy I don't even know what side I'd find my heart, don't laugh, telling you the truth...best I not be able to self diagnose. The girls do have possibilities..I was having problems even holding a cup just before Christmas, relaxing and not doing anything seems to have done the trick.
Sure hope you don't have to wait much longer for notification of surgery date. Bet you are excited to get the ambulance. Sending hugs
Susan, you know us Canadian gals, big rubber boots do the trick in weather such as this..luckily we are more in fashion, boots come in pretty designs.
Took a run to TbrrMart in Midland after my 4:30 shift, loved the 10x12 and 12x12 pitched roof sheds they make and deliver. Shaking my head here, I thought that you go in, pay for the shed, takes 2 to 3 weeks to build, they deliver, I'm a happy camper right? Wrong!!
So many problems
1. Their trucks only carry 8x10 ft.
2. Little missy here made gardens all over, how do they back a truck to deliver..wayyyy to
Heavy to move by hand
3. Flooring is already made, why duplicate...can't transport a shed if NO floor, will just
Collapse
Sooo
They will find out from their men if any of their men want a weekend job, they will ship all the materials and have them build on site..I'm to call tomorrow, not sure any of them will want to take it on...something i thought would be easy isn't quite so easy!
Yep my rubbbies are fire engine red!
Betty - although most say the heart is on the left side, it's pretty close to the center of your chest, between "the girls". lol
awwww can't we have our US sistahs thinking we wear Army Boots? LOL We DO have an Army Navy store in our major cities LOL
Ok Betty - I can see why "little missy" planted all those gardens, and Why you don't want 'em driving all over them - too gorgeous to mess up. And you're wanting some "hunks" to come into your garden to build........... oh NOW we know the reason you want a garden shed lol
Katie - how's your arm now?
Well, time to make dinner - Bob has his last night of bowling for the season, so I'm going to do some more "SID" on the lap quilt - should be done in a couple of days......
WOW - what PINK boots!!! socked me in the eye when I saw 'em!! Ya think Jaye would like a pair? lol
must confess - mine are the ole standby Black rubber boots. Go with everything lol
I don't own a pair of duck boots for my garden - it's whatever I have available - usually runners.....

They will see you coming for sure Dianne..do you take the digs with you? Is it still snowing?
Been looking at the three big oak trees out front, starting to see just a hint of green..don't you just love walking the gardens and seeing all the new growth..almost like watching Mother Nature wave her wand...amazing just the shades of deeper green the lawns are since the weekend...after this rain if we have a few days of sunshine we'll have Kelly green all around us.
Lol, omg Susan, didn't think of the young studs they would send..my luck they send those who are nearing retirement. Lol
Just thinking same thing, when in town I nearly stopped at Kentucky fried chicken, thought it would be silly seeing as the refrigerator is half full, bad choice, don't feel like cooking..will make a grilled cheese, have my bath and head to bed..maybe neocitrin just to ward off sore throat..
