Not too much in my life to live vicariously through Susan! I've such a quiet and somewhat not exciting life..guess I should be grateful that it is that way shouldn't I?

I'll just be 'eyeing' up the situation. Lol. If it looks like no can do or too heavy I'll not attempt it.. I really should have a measuring tape in the car for when I shop..if it doesn't fit in the car it doesn't come home with me.

Do some of you remember when I bought this little car I was actually contemplating buying a Smart car with no truck and just fits 2 people. Where oh were was my head?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

when you bought a larger car than the Smart Car, your head was screwed on tightly (but not Too tightly - that would HOIT!) and of course you have your mini travel trailer to put MORE in lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Home and geese are flying high, just happened as I drove Kyle was here and set in place near pond..wind is up so talk about flying geese...love them and will really love them when plants are higher and mask the pole..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Glad you got your geese home, Betty! Got a picture of them?
Did Greg go with you to Cheryl's?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Cheryl's?? No, Cathy and I took a run, my partner in crime then Kyle set it up..will post a photo in a bit..Kyle is here gabbing with grandma!

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, are those like the geese we saw at the garden show? Bet they are pretty!

Victoria Harbour, ON

No, they are so large..pole is 12'

I first had Kyle set it near the almond tree, wind was blowing and geese were flying and got wings caught in the tree so Kyle just grinned as grandma had him relocate (am sure things were being said under his breath). We were just down the street when we saw Kyle on his bike..he was heading home, he said when he saw 10' sticking out of my trunk he thought he best turn around and come and help grandma lol kid knows me!!

Gardens look sad, can't wait for growth. So just imagine flowers all around it!

Did purchase another white lilac tree on my way home, doubtful any blooms this year but perhaps next.

Picture 1..my poor little car
Picture 2..kyle at location 1
Picture 3.. hoping it's their permanent location

OH Betty, love it at the 2nd position! Looks so nice and natural.

Victoria Harbour, ON

But the piece needs to be on its pivot Debbie..Kyle was just getting ready to lift it onto its pivot hub..it's just resting on the ground!

That is so pretty!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks LindaKay, will go see what perennials other than phlox has heighth..when hidden it will look more natural..just no growth to show itself off

How are the kitties....the temps in your neighborhood?

Imagine Tuesday they are calling for mix of rain and snow.

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, they are saying Sunday night into Monday for the snow here. "IF" one thing happens...could be inches of rain. "IF" another wind happens...could be 8 inches snow! Eewww!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

ow wow Betty - that is soooooo cooooooooo-ol!!!!!! Love those geese! Bob even said they look like they're about to land! AND they pivot? wow!
Sorry - mixed Cheryl & Cathy - "remembry" just ain't what it used to be (being so full of cold doesn't help either).
I've been sitting on the couch (being a couch potato) and sewing on the lap quilt. On my last long row. Doing it stitch by stitch - no running stitches - so it takes some time. Will have it done within a week, I think. Then it's on to do Laura's......
Bob's busy working on my quilt frame :-)

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All !

Good evening Night Shift !

Jean - I am so sorry for your neighbor... are you all close ? That is so young. Mom passed away at 64...just a year older.... (HUGS)
Betty those geese are Marvelous ! Hope they don't dive in that pond for the fishes....LOL....

LK - cutie pie kitties !
What is everyone up to tonight? Hope Dianne making plans for SW to come home....

Deb - well we had our last "prom" last night. Everyone came by here as the tradition to take pics. Suppose it's the last time.

I had a "dismeet" today.... 5 total people....including me.... then went with MIL to see DNiece and new baby.

Jean - I think we had "February" weather today to replace the "April" weather we had in February... LOL

Hugs,
Mary

Victoria Harbour, ON

Mary, hope you took photo's? Almost asked you what a dismeet is but it clicked, Disney group! Can just imagine you beaming with input. Are they all as knowledgeable as you? When you say Feb weather, it was a cold you in your neighborhood? Questions/questions..lol

Susan, hand quilted quilt is such an achievement, looking forward to seeing it. Sharon says she is just over the 1/2 way mark on her appliqué quilt..love quilting but it's a bit more of a commitment then I'd like to take on. Quilt frame will make it easier, do you have a place to leave it set up?

Dianne and warren have been heavy on my mind..prayers being said,

Baton Rouge, LA

Hey Betty ! (HUGS) Many folks go to Dis MUCH more than I.... Yes - one gal took a pic of us.... I'll try to post the link... 3 of the group are going at the same time as us ! We all had a bunch of questions for each other... lodging, restaurants, tours, etc. Weather today..... Yes was the coldest April day today that I remember !
Had Many Hibbies in bloom though after rains... why couldn't they bloom yesterday for the Prom Pictures?

Figures....

Picture... you can kind of see... Cosmic Ray hibiscus, white wings, bon temps and a daylily.....

Beautiful Mary, see wood walkways? Wouldn't you know it, in
Bloom a date late. Not cold enough to freeze those beauties is it.

It's 3 weekends now that weather hasn't cooperated for us to work outside, wayyyy behind.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

ohhh yes Betty, I definitely want to do that quilt..have purchased some fabrics for it. It is on my list, after chickens for niece (MarySue), and after butterflies quilts ( 2 for bunk beds ) for Malena.....and.....and.....
Thanks, and geese are awesome !!

SNOW !! YUCK one of the worst things in the world as far as I am concerned....I remember a nasty snow storm in April, must have been about 25 years ago, we were in Massachusetts !! it sucked :(

Hugs and love to all.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Restless, checking in to see if there was news of Warren and Dianne.

Verona, ON

Morning everyone. Just getting ready to head out to the hospital.

Same forecast here Debbie. Surely do not want snow but we have yet to receive April's one last kick at the can/cat.

Santa Warren's complexion was a much better colour by the time I left him. He was quite aware of everything that was going on around him. I told him he has got to quit scaring me like he has been.

If things are going along fairly well today I am going to come home this afternoon and try and catch up on some sleep. I will post then.Your support . prayers and good wishes are so appreciated.
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wonderful news to wake up to Dianne!! Tell him he is scaring the beejeebers out of all of us. So hoping that you can get that well deserved sleep you are in need of this afternoon.furries must be wondering what is going on with the change in household schedule, poor things!

Heavy frost on the ground this morning but sun is out..likely not be able to get outside working till 11am or so providing sun stays out..oh happy days!

My goal Thunder is to go stateside first weekend in May so will post from there.
You've got quite a workload ahead of you.

Omg Debbie, Paul does not have to come with you for the gathering, dreamt hen ame to make sure he would find his way when bringing you in June, I took him for a walk to show him Georgian Bay and all of a sudden we were lost, tried to find our way home and could not find it...Sailor had made her way with us, so i said " home Sailor" and she led us home while coming across lagoons, waterfalls that you would never see in this region.

When we arrived you and Shane were there and then I woke up..where oh where do these dreams come from?

Prayers coming for all in need this morning

Hoping all have a sunshine day

Victoria Harbour, ON

No I didn't, will add them to my list..would hide the pole wouldn't they!

Went out twice, came back in, brrr it's cold out there, windy as well so playing with Sharon's stained glass panel and. When tv breaks come on I do housework..tummy growling, forgot to feed myself.

What are you up to?

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I am going to change a few pieces of storage furniture out / around.....I have a cupboard in my bedroom, that i am going to move into sewing room, dresser in sewing room moving to bedroom.....soooo ya know that means emptying both of them, moving them...then refilling.....YUCK.

but I think the storage capabilities, will be much better suited..... and while I am at it I will purge some clothes!! yup there are stuffs in that cupboard that I have not worn in ages!!! so away it goes !!!

a beautiful 66 degrees in my little corner of the world...rained last night so everything is all washed clean.....and my mexican petunias are standing tall this am :)

Betty...don't you be doing too much !! I always have a lot going on. Quilters ADHD. I get bored with a project very quickly, so I have to have many going, and I go back and forth.....

gonna sash some patriotic blocks, after I get my moving done....

tried to post with pictures and it wont let me :(

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Thunder, you have your computer back?
Sounds like your going to be busy!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Dianne - how wonderful that SW has his colour back, and sounding so good!

Betty - strange dream, to be sure! I had a dream that I remembered when I woke up, but now I've forgotten within 10 minutes........ oh well, it was strange, too lol

Supposed to be 23c/73F today, and 25c/77F tomorrow......... and here I am, in the house with a cold :-(
I think I'll get dressed and go sit out on the deck this afternoon. Didn't go to church today (no one wants to "deal" with my coughing, f'sure!) but Bob did, and our pastor sent a YouTube video of what his sermon would be about, so that was cool!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Over that utube sermon Susan, could have listened to him all day! I sure miss my Joel Olstein Sunday mornings, 9:30 pm for Joyce Meyer and Joel is much too late, keep trying to stay up to watch but most times I fall asleep..

Thunder, you sure have your day cut out, seems when you clean and organize it makes such a mess but end result is gratifying!

Went outside at 11am and just came in for a break!! Well deserved I might add..it's 50F and just a breeze, Just the right temp for working..I've done the grass for the first time this year, that alone makes everything look clean..likely another 1/2 hour to do side yard.

Did a bit of weeding, omg talk about weeks of work to get it done and edged. Little bits at a time and I will get there.

Had company, June and Alex then Pat and George, the men helped me do a bit which was nice.

Well, if I sit here for another few minutes that will be the end of yard duty and I'm not ready to give up yet..

Gab in a bit!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

it's 20c/68F here now - still have to wait for the hottest part of the day :-)
Going to be hotter tomorrow 25c/77F - NICE for April, eh?

Glad you had some help in the garden, Betty!
Also glad you liked the Utube sermon. Sorry I missed the service this morning, but Bob gave me a run-down of our pastor's sermon - apparently he "skipped" the part of the arm coming away with the sleeve.......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Asking for prayers please? Some of you may know Marti001, she told me she has bilateral breast cancer. She does not know the course of treatment yet, but ask for prayers for healing, comfort and strength as she is pretty stressed about what is to come. Thanks!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Can imagine just how overwhelmed with the news she is..Will include her in my prayers LindaKay!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I'm sure she is very overwhelmed......... I don't know her personally, but prayers are being said for her.......

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All;

Last weekend before the "Swap" ! I remember you all encouraging me to go last year and BOY am I glad you did and I went !

Son's Girlfriends' Mom texted me this morning with gardening questions (what to plant in huge pots/ lots of sun that would make it through winter). So I ended up inviting her over and got to show off my backyard. YAY!

Very exciting that the 2 plants she asked for... I actually HAD! I had already potted up an Angel Trumpet with her in mind... and had Red Texas Star Hibiscus seedlings. Of everything I had those were the 2 she wanted. She is very sweet.

Prayers for those in need.... waiting to hear from our Dianne.

What does everyone have going on this week?

Hugs,
Mary

Verona, ON

Trotting off to bed to try and catch some zzzzz's.

Mary quite excited that your DS'S DGF's DN is showing an interest in gardening.

Winter storm warning out here for tonight. Sure hope I don't have to make a frantic run to the hospital during the night.Wishing and hoping that SW will be home early this week.

Sleep calls. Wish me luck!
Dianne

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Get some sleep Dianne! You need your rest! Praying that Warren comes home soon!

Baton Rouge, LA

Praying and Hoping Dianne that you get the sleep you need..... and the storm passes over you.....AND that SW makes it home as soon as possible...

waving to LK...did you get cooler weather today too ?

Hugs,
Mary

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Mary - glad you were able to impress your son's GF's Mom with your garden/knowledge/plants!!! yaaaaaay!! good for you!

Dianne - could you stay with SW at the hospital in case of storm? Hope you're getting some rest..........

Temp was hot for spring - 23c!! going to be 25c tomorrow, apparently! Think I'll be able to get out for a bit (cold's much better, and I sat on the deck for 5 minutes!)

Baton Rouge, LA

Oh Goodness! Susan I don't know if I impressed her or what... but she seemed happy to get the plants and stayed for 2 hours...
Nice warm temps for you! Hope you get over that cold very soon... HUGS!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It was 95 here today! Too warm if you ask me!

Night everyone!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

sounds like you impressed her, to me! Go with the feeling, Mary lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, I thought of you travelling the roads with the storm brewing, let's hope as it moves our way it becames less intense. Watched clips of east coast and Quebec Getting it and wow..knew we would pay for summer weather in March. Says it is slow moving and not tohit here until Tuesday. Worked all day in the gardens, 20 to 30 cm ought to do a fine number on the gardens...drats and double drats. Praying thatSanta Waren will be home with you shortly.

Mary, I am more than sure that she was impressed with your gardens!
Guess hubby is taking back seat now that you've taken an intest and have learned so much....oohh you will be so comfortable going to the roundup this year, knowing what to expect and now knowing some of the dg members.

Nightmares, cannot sleep, going to try again to close my eyes, bit arly to get up
