You're dealing with lots of things at once. I know that feeling too!
Coffee Break # 78
Glad your OK Deb, the driver is a jerk!!! Nice to hear Leah continues to do well. ^_^
When I was driving in Manhattan the other day, on my way home from visiting my mom, some woman passenger in a cab yells at me to 'pick a lane'. I was not weaving and the cab driver was not complaining - just this loudmouth. You can guess what came out of my mouth at that point.
All of a sudden there is a bright cop.
Sorry about your accident but glad you are alright and the idiot will get cited.
Hey Jo if you ever shop at Ted Hosmers it was one of their drivers!
Thanks Jo and Celeste
Have an ADAM UPDATE:
Adam is feeling good today! The doctors are impressed with how alert he has been ..The nurse took out his feeding tube so hopefully he will want to drink some milk today. Physical therapy is here stretching his little body and testing him with focusing, reaching, and grabbing objects..The plan this week is to figure out a long term plan for his ventrix in his head so hopefully they will get the shunt in soon.. and more chemo next week!! Its rainy outside but sunny inside of Barbra Bush wing. ^_^
Very glad you are fine, Deb!!! Also, very glad little Leah is doing well.
Very, very, very glad to hear the good report about Adam!!!

Great news!
Sorry you had to go through that, Debi...just the shock of being hit, then the jerk lying! He was probably on the phone! Happy, happy for Leah & Adam.....need some good news....
so sorry about the accident Deb.. always stinks.. glad to hear Leah & Adam are doing good!!!
I hope that you are well after the accident. Good luck to all the patients.
Thanks all. I'm a little achy but fine. Still makes me mad, and what him not hitting me could have prevented makes me madder.
Try to putit in perspective, Deb. It's a blip in the big picture. Think about that little Angel instead. ^_^
I know! it's just a release!
don't blame you for being upset debi - guy had a lot of ----- to try that story. glad you are ok and the baby is doing well.
celeste that is good news as well!
Geez, Deb glad you're ok...what a total jerk though!!!
Deb: I couldnt add another plant place to shop so Hosmers is definatly off my list.
Deb I'll add that I'm glad your OK too and good news that Leah is doing so well♥
I love hearing the good news on Adam!
Victor hope the hand and the moms are doing well too.
I talked to my son last night and Domenic may have 'flat head syndrome' :( Seems to be pretty common now with all the babies sleeping on their backs but it is still a little disheartening. He has to see a neurosurgeon to see if it's bad enough to require a helmet. We told Joe it needs to be a Flyers helmet for sure!
Oh, no, Ronnie! Hoping the little guy does OK without a helmet....
My neighbor's little girl wore a helmut - it was soft, foam. Other than being really hot, it wasn't too bad.
Don't know why I thought taking down the wallpaper in the mudroom was a good idea today.....sore everywhere.....plus, the paint I chose is too light....have to go back tomorrow to have it deepened.....
Don't you have to just keep repositioning them so they don't get that?
I got to help change Leah's bed today, held her up so the nurse could change the blanket under her. Such sweet joy! And she is up to 2 lb 4 oz!
Yes Jen, but the doc said some heads are just softer and if they sleep more than others it may happen.
never heard of that Ronnie.. I don't get how the helmet will help.. would be harder than the mattress no??.. or is it the elevation that helps?
Not to sure yet myself Allison but I believe the helmet help shape the head. From what I'm reading is is rather light weight. Not a hard "helmet" like in sports.
Ronnie I hadn't heard of that before, hope all goes well!
I will pray for the best Ronnie
had to google it.. some sites said it can fix it's self in 6 months.. one site said to take a photo of the spot every month to see if it gets better
http://parentfaves.blogspot.com/2010/04/baby-pillow-for-plagiocephaly-infant.html
guess it depends on how severe it is
???
Thanks for that link Allison, from reading a few things some people think the helmet is a money maker and not needed...we will see what the neurosurgeon says. Anything associated with the head even if it's common scares me with my son having epilepsy....I've seen my share of docs and don't want him to have to go through it too.
maybe it's just me.. but if that helmet puts pressure in the wrong spot couldn't it do more damage?.. my niece was born with a squashed head and won't get over the mentality of a 7 year old.. makes me nervous too.. they had to do a c section with the triplets in there.. and she was trying to get through the birth canal and couldn't fit.. long crazy story but they were giving her drugs to stop the labor because it was only 7 1/2 months.. and I think that was the thing that caused the problem.. the extra bit of weight makes me wonder about neck issues later as well.. some of this non natural stuff makes me nervous .. don't mean to make you more nervous.. so sorry if I did.. but I am just concerned
Thanks Allison, you didn't make me more nervous since I'm already as worried as can be. There are a few things going on I haven't posted about yet...don't want to worry myself to death unnecessarily...he needs to see a specialist at CHOP for something going on with his eyes too called a Nystagmus. That appointment is sometime in May....what worries me most is my DIL being ble to handle a "special needs"child. I hope she suprises me...
Awe Ronnie, im so sorry to hear all this is being heaped on your family. Blessing and prayers are being sent your way.
Thanks♥
Your dil may surprise you, amazing how strong moms actually are
my son is at the math olympics today, he gets the math skills from hubby...all other smarts are mine ^_^
Who really needs math anyway these days? The "kids" in my Excel class use calculators to check their Excel answers. :0
I do believe god gives you what you can handle.. sorry if that statement offends anyone
Hoping everything will be fine, Ronnie....my grandson had many problems at birth....3 weeks in ICU, hearing loss, tested for autism....and now at 4 he's doing fine! Pre-K has really helped.....
Wow - I think I would strangle these teachers.
