Way to go, David! Mom's nursing genes helping, I think.

Saw both mom and MIL today. Ugh - stressful day. MIL has developed C diff so she is not well at all and her stay is no doubt extended. She looks so skinny and old.

My mom, it turns out, had a very close call. The balloon catheter tore a hole in the cardiac artery and it was a life and death emergency. They inserted the second stent to 'plug' the hole. They had to enter the other side groin artery for that one and left the catheter in overnight to be sure. So she is now very sore. I will bring her here tomorrow because she lives on the fourth floor and cannot do the stairs for a few weeks.

So I will probably end up with both moms here soon! God help me!!

Thanks for all your prayers!

Oh, Victor, so sorry to hear about both your moms. Glad they were able to do the emergency repair. Will be praying for all of you.

Cuties Jan

David stopped at Wegmans today after going home to shower. He ran into the paramedic who responded to his 911 call, and thanked him.

Thomaston, CT

My granddaughter HayHay was born 4-5 weeks early....the 1st thing Doug & I saw when we walked into the room was Garret, old clothes, stubble on his face, eyes closed, holding her....I'll never forget that Debi, & I know you won't either....Victor, prayers for your whole family....sounds like there's a long road ahead for both Moms....

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Gosh Victor that's tough, prayers going out for your moms, you too.

Debi good parenting comes from good parenting...David will do great!

Jan the kiddies are so cute, I'll never see 6 but will settle for my 3 and hope for a fourth!

I was looking at craigslist for pavers and came across "free" mulch, wound up getting a whole truck load for nothing and it was right around the corner from the diner we were going to for dinner. Lucky find and it's nice. I still need lots more but I'll take free any day!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Great score luvs!!

YAY free is GREAT!
Too cute, Jan
Praying for you Victor!
How much did she weigh Debi?

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

She was 2 lb 3 oz, Lindsey said she hasn't lost any weight yet. They were going to weigh her when they were getting her back to bed yesterday but I didn't stay in the room so they'd have more room to work. They had to put in the NG tube to start feeding and I didn't want to watch that, but the kids stayed through that.

I actually stayed in bed from 9pm til now, woke up frequently but managed to go back to sleep, much better than the last 2 nights.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Awwwww Debi she is sooo weeeenie. Such a trooper. The parents must be over the top.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

just noticed yesterday when I was cleaning up that my one weigela broke at the base.. but still has green at the top.. we staked it up .. should I mound any soil around the base or just leave it?

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i would leave it as is and see how it does - i have a witch hazel red bud that uprooted or broke below soil level from the storm in Oct. - one branch has leafed out others have buds - i just staked it and hoping for the best - i will replace it if i have too - great plant.

when does everyone plant their dahlia's?

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Bill I usually do mine in May but never got them dug last year and figured they were goners, most all of them are up! Your still a bit colder than me I would wait a few more weeks, they like the warm ground.

South Hamilton, MA

congratulation to adam & ronnie for better health--fun to see the new baby.

Wonderful to see people taking care of older relatives.

Re school: Did they think 6yr old was going to cheat, like you could hold a loose bowl. Send teacher to a class on 6 yr old anatomy or get family dr. to write a complaint.

Thomaston, CT

Bill, I've planted dahlias indoors & planted them out end of April, beginning of May....but they didn't do much...the ones I planted mid to late May did the best....soil has to be very warm for them.....

Thomaston, CT

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I don't blame you Jo, not liking this cold either but no white stuff yet.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

No white stuff here but the heat is back on and the warm jammies are back out... I think Mother Nature is going through menopause and having mood swings!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

On my way to the hospital this morning I was stopped at a red light waiting to turn, and got rear ended by a big truck with some kind of load on the back of it. He hit me twice, pushed my car forward the first time then hit me again. The jerk never got out of the truck to talk to me. Told the cops I changed lanes in front of him and cut him off.

Not what I needed today. Cop believed me, said the damage was consistent with my story. $3,500 damage.
5-7 days for the repair.

On the bright side, Leah is doing great, is now getting 5 cc of feeding every 3 hours. And they get her up every 3 hours so it's more holding time. It was Davids turn to hold her at 2:30.
I called my husband after the accident and he came and picked me up, dropped me off at the hospital, then called the insurance and took my car for the estimate. He picked me back up at 2:30 so I didn't see Davids turn.

Sorry for rambling, not usually my style.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sorry to hear, Deb. At least you were not hurt. I know that feeling. Very unnerving and frustrating. Feel better!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks Victor. I was losing it a little, but it was everything else, not the car. The car was just something I could yell about!
