Sue - it's understandable to be sad - he's "been there" for you, and Your rock, while you are everyone else's Rock
so, get the twins to take out the trash LOL
۞Sweet Interruptions # 238۞
Good for them - at 8 years old, usually children are more helpful than when they're teenagers, and more able LOL
Good morning sistahs.
No coffee this morning? LK must still be sleeping off her cruds.
Susan, any improvement?
Well, being it's almost noon, how about some peach iced tea? Marion's favorite btwy. Some butter shortbread cookies, "Walkers" brand.
Sue, maybe God sees you need the 'alone' time so you'll get stronger? Tim will be just a phone call away, and that 1/4 mile is not too bad, considering you could haul them on the bed of your truck.
Savannah and Austin are such responsible kids. Are you teaching them how to take care of your chickens?
I got a box to be mailed to a fellow swapper and I forgot all about Susan's block... until I came here. So here goes stripping the box... and I packed it well too!! Lol.
Have a fantastic day sistahs. Love and Hugs to all!!
I feel a little ok - can't talk - the exertion sends me into coughing fits, my nose is running away with me, and my eyes are teary......... but my head isn't quite so stuffed up. Been using Neti Pot and it's clearing me up when I do.
I actually slept in only 2 stages last night - just got up at 9am
Bob's getting to talk more lol
Hi Ladies,
Ok you Ladies, with the crud!!! Get well soon!!! Knock on wood, I have not had a cold or the flu in years, everyone around me gets sick but I never catch it, hmmmmm??? Last time I had the flu was 1985, spent 8 days totally out of it!!!! then ended up with bronchitis ugh!! That was when I quit smoking, wasn't worth hacking up a lung!!!
Been super busy, helping mom with her bowling league, and trying to get pots painted so I can get plants transplanted. All those seeds I had collected over the years are just now sprouting!!! Yay!! Love my hot house!!!!!!
Now I need your opinion on this matter. A gal that bowls with my (and very good friend to my mom she loves my mom as if she were her mom) told me that at bowling Tuesday night the president of the league was having a bad night of bowling, the lanes were, (which happens 90% of the time) and he started yelling at my mom about it. She said that my mom was very close to breaking down and crying. Even though he called her the next morning to say he was sorry it is not enough for me!!! I am so sick and tired of these bowlers taking their frustration out on my mom, instead of the owner of that crappy place. All he cares about is the bar, it is his big money maker. This is the only bowling alley in Auburn, and that is all my mom looks forward too.
So I am going to the banquet to help mom set up and everything. When he arrives I am going to take him aside and let him know just what I think!!! Then I am going to tell him that telling her over the phone is not enough, he has to tell her he is sorry in front of all the bowlers at the banquet. Boy he is so lucky I was not there Tuesday night, he would of walked out of there with his tail between his legs!! And if my brother would of been around.......................Oh man, lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so my question is............am I doing the right thing?? Or should I let it go?????????????
She's your mother, and worth defending, Cindy!
I'd do the same. To me the president sounds like a bully, and bullies always pick on the ones that won't fight back.
You should demand an open apology from him.
Let him have it Cindy! Your Mom does not deserve to be treated like that.
Need to borrow my 2x4?
I am feeling a bit better today, but still have a stuffy runny nose. Tummy feels a lot better.
LOL 2x4!! I carry a pretty good punch! When I was about 21, it was halloween we were bowling, me, mom and dad. My brother came in with his gf to watch. He went in the bar to get a drink, and when he turned around he accidently dropped it. This guy mouthed off at him and told him to get down and lick it up. Well, lol my brother said something(not so nice) back to him and walked out of the and was standing at the main counter, the guy followed my brother out and punched him!!! I jumped off of my seat ran over to that guy and said "Nobody hits my brother and gets away with it, and I let him have it!!! Square in the nose, bam!!! The guy said "I've never hit a woman before" My brother's gf stepped up to him got in his face, and said And you'd better not!!!!" Needless to say that guy was escorted OUT of the bowling alley and NOT allowed back in, lol!!!!! My dad was totally speechless, lol he said I started at the floor with my fist and up I came and smacked that guy so hard, he rocked on his heels. The guy was about 6'4", me 5'4", lol!!!
Forgot to say Jaye, Tracy (the guy who yelled at my mom) is a nice guy and him and one other guy on his team tease mom all the time. Why he did that to her I have no idea!! His team was bowling against my mom's team. They were all bowling bad that night, but it was position round for the 2nd half to see who will be bowling against the winners of the first half for championship which is next Tuesday night. I really should do it then, instead of waiting for the banquet but then if I do he probably won't show up at the banquet and he has to help mom give out the monies. I don't want to cause a big upset at the banquet, so I will keep my cool and tell him what I think and it better not happen again!!!!!!
Oh Kathy, can I have the little reddish brown one?
sure can maid m. come and pick him up.
LOL, oh how I wish I could. My GDs would love them!! They are so cute but yes, they can make so much noise.
yup, just like babies with colic!
So I read. They are adorable though.
punch him Good, Cindy!! Actually, think an open apology is good. If he's normally not like this, he shouldn't be given license to do it again, and taught to talk to your mom like the lady she is!
Kathy, those are so cute, but they will grow pretty fast!
Cindy, don't let it wait too long, or he will think no one will do anything...
LK, he will be in for a HUGE shock when I confront him!!!
LOl! And her favorite color too!
Yea I know hee hee ^_^
tsk tsk tsk............ you ladies are just Nasty LOL LOL LOL LOL (I LIKE it!!!) LOL
A teenage granddaughter comes downstairs for her date
with this see-through blouse on and no bra.
Her grandmother just pitched a fit, telling her not to dare go out like that!
The teenager tells her
'Loosen up Grams. These are modern times. You gotta let your rose buds show!' And out she goes.
The next day the teenager comes down stairs,
And the grandmother is sitting there with no top on.
The teenager wants to die.
She explains to her grandmother that she has friends coming over
And that it is just not appropriate...
The grandmother says, 'Loosen up, Sweetie.
If you can show off your rose buds,
Then I can display my hanging baskets.
Happy Gardening.
LOL! That is so cute!
Morning everyone! Hot coffee, scrambled eggs, bacon, wheat toast, and OJ is ready. Come and get it!
Morning sistahs! Thanks for BACON!! I LOVE BACON!! GOT TO HAVE ME SOME BACON!!!
But doc says to cut back on b a c o n ... :*((
Thanks anyway LK, I'll take the wheat toast with coffee.
Bad, bad sistahs! Cindy, if I were to hang that in my garden, I'm sure my poor gnomes and frogs will be throwing up.
There's the jelly roll swap, and a couple had asked for P. Thank God I had a few strips left from doing a quilt for Kel's niece who's a P freak. I took a long break after finishing hers for my head to be right again :))
Who says I'm not wearing some of the bras you all had surprised me with.
Except for one that's fit for 2 marbles.. thank you for that wishful thinking for me, Marion!
Nice Bruggie sistah Kathy. Nice future chicken gumbo too..
I was in bed early last night! Sewed for a bit, then my back starts hurting, if not for muscle relaxers think I'll be too sore today!
Sue, again today, I pray your heart's a bit lighter.
Susan, I hope for good news for Bob.
Off to sew, sew, sew.. got 3 projects going on. One is for that FB swap that Cindy, Thunder and LK are in.
The other, another niece's quilt
3rd.. the start of RWB gift.
I can't stick to one.. gets bored easily!!! Only problem with doing too many is having to change the thread on the sewing machine!!
"2 marbles" LOL
Bob just headed out to his interview......
I slept well last night, and my head has cleared up a LOT. Still have the nasty chest cold though........
I've been sewing the lap quilt........ almost finished the 2nd row of 10 on the 1st lap quilt. Then I will do a pattern on the centers of each block - they're all the same center, so maybe will do a separate circle?!?!
Hoping Bob gets that job, Susan, and glad you are feeling a little better.
Our days are really hot, but I did manage to plant a couple of things yesterday. Have to get out there sometime today and plant some more. Put a hummingbird feeder out and so far I haven't seen any of those hummbers. If I put a "follow the arrow" sign up will they follow it???? They do visit the bush in my neighbor's yard and the feeder is right there for them.
I was told, by who I can't remember.................that you're not suppose to put humming bird feeders out when flowers are in bloom, but I do it anyways.
To LK......................have you tried that feeder I sent you???? Just wondering if they work as I have a couple to finish
Bob's back, and after the interview they had him take an IQ test, fill out for a Security Check (takes 10 days) and walked him around the warehouse. They have 2 others to interview. So, I guess that means 2 more weeks before he hears.......
Well that was the only size needed to hold the picture of you know who. LOL
Went out to dinner last night with some friends (our vet and her daughter)and what a great time we had. We laughed until our sides ached. it was Taylor's 16th birthday and she wanted us to have dinner with her. Funny since Kim is also her teacher.
We are suppose to have a rainy weekend so I guess I will work in the house--maybe. Hope all are doing okay.
Cindy, it does work! I have never heard that about the flowers, I always have them up, it is a supplement to when they can't get enough nectar. We have 10 hummer feeders here, and they have to be re filled every other day with all the hummers and hooded orioles feeding from them!
Cardiologist visit - April 20, 2012
Today I saw the cardiologist at CMC. After checking in and having an EKG (electrocardiogram), we met with him. He had the results of my echo cardiogram as well.
His determination is that I have a damaged heart. It does not pump as strong as it should. He said there could be several reasons for the damage. One cause he mentioned is a silent heart attack. Another is an infection I may have had in the lungs that traveled to the heart. Next week I am having a chemical stress test to try to find the cause. If that isn’t clear, then I may need to have a heart catheterization. I had blood work done and he has put me on a new med. I will have blood drawn again in one week to see if it is being effective. He is aware that I need a gall bladder operation as well.
So, I proceed from here again with more restrictions. No lifting, no excitement and rest a lot. I see him again next Friday.
Thanks guys for all your support. I love you.
Barb
oooooh Barb - sorry to hear about your damaged heart.........!!
No excitement? Well, we'd better hold back on our chats about our favourite Pirate, and Chippendale guys!!!!
Ya hear that, Jaye, Kathy & Cindy? Ya gotta behave your selves!! (behave well, that is, NOT badly LOL)
Takes a bit more than that to excite me now Susan!!! But I'm grateful for your kind thonghts...
Barb - you're always in my thoughts........... I have a "piece" of you here, in the quilt block you sent, which is now part of a lap quilt top. That Will get finished before the end of this summer.
(((((Barb))))))
Sending lots of thoughts and prayers your way Barb! Hope you get answers soon!
Thanks my friends. I'm hoping to get all fixed up and be ready to go by summer!!!!!!
