Shane is back at school, and still very uncomfortable. He is wearing my sling I had from rotator cuff surgery and said that helps a lot. He has been sitting with it on a pillow as the bumps aggravate it so bad. Takes Ibuprofen for the swelling and hydrocodone for the pain every six hours alternating. He honestly didn't seem happy to be back at school.

Had a scare on the way home. Although it was very bright and sunny, the wind was horrible!! On the way home saw a disturbance ahead and a tractor trailer ...in which the back was empty...blew over on the NY State Thur-way. At least we think it was empty the way it tipped in the wind! Didn't hear if anyone was hurt yet. Was just West of the Canandaigua exit.

Betty, quick cat nap for sure!

Suse, so happy you are back on here! How are you doing? Such a hard week for you with your Daddys anniversary and all. BIG hugs! How is Danny? Did his eyes settle down? How is Mr. Moose? lol

DH went to bed....so I have some peace and quiet for a bit. He needs to go back to work....sooner than later!

Hello To All !

Betty Love the old pics and walk down memory lane. Spring of 2007 ! That was exactly when I became a "Beginner Gardener". DH had joined Dave's Garden.... I didn't find the thread until much later....

Jean - Love you gal ...you are so proficient at finding information. Thank you for the serenity prayer, well familiar with the first part had no clue there was more... I will definitely try to stay more hydrated and buy some mucinex tomorrow. only one bad cough episode today. Went to chiro in Galvez and he suggested I find a nutritionist vs. more medications. he recommended one on hwy 30 in Gonzales

Debbie how was the drive with Shane ? Did chiro help today? I do think this is going to be good for you...
How is The Child with her new place ?

Susan - so sorry about the gas tank and all. You do not seem yourself... I think you need to be a bit easier on yourself, take a walk outside, long bubble bath, something and then get your mind on track. Susan I know you as a proactive, organized go-getter and hard worker. You've plenty of reasons for life to get you down right now... I know... but don't let them get to you (((((HUGS))))))

Betty sounds like you had a wonderful Easter... yes something to see how the kids have all grown. I believe when I first posted all I could talk about was problems with the Steps. Boy has that changed....and I thank all who put up with my venting! (it must have kept me sane) (okay - not completely sane I'm sure)

(HUGS)

The Child is going day by day. Settling into a routine, and was actually the only one that came in the kitchen and helped me yesterday. Helped load up dishes after breakfast...even though she didn't eat, and helped get the meal ready. She came back over for a bit this morning to see Shane again before he went back.

We are wondering if Chiro is good or not. I have to see a Neurologist, on the 27th. Might stop Chiro until I see him as I am about needing to use the walker again. Will see how I am by weeks end.

Drive with Shane was fine, except for the accident with the tractor trailer I mentioned above...the wind is just horrible.

Good news is.....my new dryer comes tomorrow! I have NEVER had a new dryer, and the one I do have is over 30 years old! (Whirlpool).

Debbie ...
It was a bittersweet Easter. Time for remembering ... We lost Grandma on the 4th and Daddy on the 6th. Of course, that's 14 years apart, but I think Easter will be especially difficult for Mom now. I was so glad I got to go home for the day.

Moses is wonderful ... Don't know what I'd do without him ... I wish everyone could meet him and watch him work ... He's everything to me ...

Thank you ...

Oh Debbie ... cross posted with you. {{{ }}} Please keep us posted. Am praying you don't have to go back to that walker ... Yea on the new dryer, though!!

Suse, we have the same remembrance here as my Grandpa passed on April 4th...and his birthday was April 7th. BUT we try and remember the good times. I am the only one with those memories now, he passed when I was a teen...so never got to meet the kids.

We have learned to treasure the memories of Mom, I think I posted I was using her cast iron skillet....smoked up the house really good and burned first batch of bacon. Jeanna walked in the house and said "WOW, Grandma cooking?" I must have had her help yesterday. My meal with just horrible! lol

Mary - if I don't seem like myself, it's because I'm not - I don't like feeling "down" and I don't know what to expect next.
Sorry for being so "whiney". Being hard on myself? Well, enough people here have said there's a reason I keep losing jobs, and not getting interviews, and it must be something I'm doing wrong. Get told that enough, and it's bound to get a person down. That, and my poor DH not getting a job means I'm trying my best to be "up" for him, and that is dragging me down. I can't do it all, now.......
My neighbour, Norma, just came by to pay Bob for planing down a door for her & Bud - $45......! Frankly, that's overpaying, but we didn't quarrel with it. Tomorrow night she's having a jewellery party, and I'm not buying anything, but will go and bring my "tackiest jewellery" for a prize lol

Baton Rouge, LA

Hey All !

Suse - I just love seeing you post ! Have you looked into getting some Sweet Basil ? It's an annual but I think you'd love it ...smells good and great to cook with or raw....

Deb... I am so encouraged by that news of The Child.... she sounds like she is starting to appreciate you more !

Susan... I don't think you are whiney at all... just being hit with some extremely hard times... If you can map out a plan to take control that will help.... Love the neighbor and think a jewelry party would be super.... maybe you can host the next party and make some extra cash ? (or pampered chef or something like that).......

Hugs,
Mary

Evening, doors were open for Greg Susan, but with Sailor barking and the boys saying its us Sailor, who can sleep?? So here I am, almost midnight and watching The Robe with Richard Burton in it! Just crucified our Lord..wonder how far into the a movie I am?

Greg says he'll be back tomorrow night and hook tv up for me...shaking my head!

Debbie, winds extremely high here as well..must have been a fright, hope trucker is ok..omg you were doing so well, to have to use a walker again, maybe it has to hurt bad before it does it's healing.? Bet you shed a tear when you dropped Shane off.

At times, I feel a soothing sense of a loved one! Memories become so strong that you just know they walk by your side..they are never truly gone, they live within!

Suse big hugs coming your way..yes to photo updates. Wasn't garden time when I dropped in for a visit, really just got to see your potted plants.

LindaKay, Dylan is doing well with his weight gain.. Is Heather more at ease?

Mary, bet you are thrilled to put stepchildren problems behind you.

Susan, may ttomorrow bring the help you need..jean sure was a help wasn't she.

Well going to try this sleep thing again

Problem with those kinds of parties is you always want to include some eats and sometimes few sales and it ends up costing you $$$$

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Yes, Betty - Jean is a wonderful source of info - gotta love it when friends help that way.
yes also to: these parties cost $$ to put on. I don't like getting into the spin of these - I will go to enjoy the company, and because it's right next door I don't have to drive LOL
Not only that, but hostesses don't make $$ at them - they just get discounted or free jewellery.

Apparently the Ab Works does have Job Fairs but there's none scheduled in the calendar on their site. Now that I'm aware of Ab Works, I will check back for any that they may have - Thanks again, Jean :-)

Mary - I'm keeping busy at home (when I'm not forwarding my resume for jobs that is!!) and am completing some quilt UFO

Oh Susan ... forgive us .. we're just spinning our wheels trying to think of something ... I too was gonna mention a party, and then I remembered all I got was a bracelet. LOL

Betty, you didn't get to see much at my house but dust when you came, I felt so bad with that cold... Maybe we can plan on a next time, and things will be different. Wish you could come for a mater sandwich ... but I guess our summers are too hot ... I can't even imagine what they'll be like. We've already hit 90 a few times.

Debbie, oh wow ... ya just gotta love those iron skillets. LOL I sure do! And I know what you mean about the memories ... I know it sounds crazy, but I wouldn't want him here. He's better off ...

Mary, I love basil! I grow basil, Italian parsley, cilantro, dill and sometimes I have thyme and oregano. I don't have that right now. Hey, have you ever had any of the KY spearmint? That's to die for ... I've killed it several times! LOL

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you for helping, Susan. I really appreciate you "spinning your grey cells" LOL
After all, I'm "spinning" in here, just talking about this "uck" I'm going through.
Y'all are very patient with me when I'm posting all of this.
I'm Trying to get my DH to quit his gaming and Come To Bed! after all, it's after 11pm and we have to be at the Ab Works at 7:30..... and I still have to print off our finances (online bank statement) to take with us tomorrow............
I have to do it on his cuz my ink has run out on my printer, but he still has a bit on his (it's "iffy" on his too, cuz he's running out of ink).

Debbie, meant to say roger loved his skillets, I got the what for for putting them in the dishwasher from time to time..NOT the thing to do!
Susan, prayer just said in hopes a solution will be found this morning.

Susan, received my morning scripture..thoughts I'd share with you

“Do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward”
(Hebrews 10:35, NASB)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Have you been praying and believing for something that seems like it’s taking a lot longer than you anticipated? Many times, people can miss God’s best simply because they give up before they see their “due season” come. Don’t let that be you! Be encouraged today; your answer is closer than you think! If it seems like things are getting more difficult, remember, when the intensity heats up, that means you are closer to your victory. It always seems darkest just before the dawn arrives.
Remember, you serve a faithful God, and He’s working behind the scenes on your behalf. Don’t cast away your confidence today because your reward is coming. Just like a new mother forgets about her labor pain when she is finally holding her newborn, you’ll forget about your struggle when you are holding on to your promise.
While you are waiting, keep an attitude of faith and expectancy. Wake up every morning and say out loud, “I’ve come too far to give up now. My due season is coming. I will reap my harvest.” Stay in faith and look for His hand of blessing because He has promised you victory, and your reward is coming!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father in heaven, today I stand believing that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. Give me Your strength to continue believing until I see Your promises fulfilled in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.

— Joel & Victoria Osteen

LK - I got several leads from the Oil & Gas Job Fairs - Thanks!
The one for Alberta Job Fairs - all but 2 were in another city, and one of the two was for Youth, while the other one isn't until May 23rd......... Hope I have a job by then.......... anyway, we'll see - I will take note of that one Job Fair.
The ALIS one - they have a LOT of info sessions I could go to.

As for the meeting today at Alberta Works - we got there at 7:30, and waited until 10:30, got out at 11:00. We have to fill out another form, take it in and get it witnessed for our signatures. IF they decide to help us, it will get directly into the Utility's acc't :-)
We should know later today or tomorrow if they've approved it as a one-time loan.
We did pick up a lot of pamphlets and booklets relating to assistance in all areas of getting/keeping jobs and other practical assistance.

Thanks all, for your support and caring.

Well let's hope Susan that you hear this afternoon as not to spend another sleepless night.
