Oh BEV!!!! Big hugs for you sweetie! Funny, my hair used to be straight as a board and I used to get it permed. Now it's curly like a perm and I straighten it every day.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? come chat with friends
Crissy, stress reacts in diggerent ways, so e health and some just plain forgetful..am sure you will find the papers where you least expect to find them..stop searching and you will find..either that or we'll do a group request with st Anthony...Dianne's chocolates, your papers, Katie's $$$ and your mind! Lol
Ohhh go play at gardening..
Crissy, humidity makes your hair curly..remember when we were travelling how you used to have to straighten..wish I had the same problem..
Sailor wants in, best I go
Paid $45.00 for the perm. She will do something, I am sure.
Betty my hair went curly before I moved here, it went curly when I turned 33. My two cousins on my dad's side's hair did the same thing when they were in their 30's also, it's something in the genes. Now we're all half gray too, and my dad is completely white, they're mom had gone from very very dark brown hair to white before she turned 60 also, it's strange how some gene's are dominant and some aren't. LOL I always straighten my hair, every day unless I'm gardening all day, then I put it in a pony tail and gel the crap out of it.
Bev I'm sure she will too, most of them do. I used to hate it when perms didn't take, that smell is hideous!
Is interesting about the genes!! That is what is nice about having long hair, up in pony tail and there you go..
Bev she may want to wait a few weeks before giving you another..how is Scotty doing?? Maybe today would be a good day to go for short visit and take yourself out for dinner..
I so need to do my hair but once everyone leave I intend to play out in the gardens for a few hours, although it is cool when not in the sun..will clean myself up and do my hair tonight so I can freshen up..still smelling the pond grunge on me although everyone says they don't..
Sure hoping some stay for lunch, I had done veggie and fruit trays and didn't take them out as Melanie brought homemade treats..her peppers covered with cheese and bacon were delicious . between left over Chinese (enough for another meal) and the trays, big batch of spaghetti there is enough to feed an army..spaghetti I'll put not containers and freeze. Between all of us we only ate 1/2 the ice cream cake..thinking please don't leave it for me to eat. Lol
Maybe if I throw a jacket on I can play outside
Gab in a bit
Bev, sure hope she can re do the perm?
Betty, the girls I made baskets for are 6, 7, 9 and 15. Two different families.
Happy Easter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeRkP4ExVRs
Bev, the prescription medications that you take end up settling in your hair. Blood pressure meds can give you a "spotty" perm result. Tight curls in some areas and no curl in others. When you go to your hairdresser, tell her you need a "drug clarifying shampoo" or perm pre-treatment serum to remove the excess residue from your hair, or ask her to recommend one you can use for a couple days prior to your perm. Nowdays when you search for clarifying shampoos, the results are mostly for "hair cleansing prior to a drug test" not to worry...any of those will work and you can go with the least expensive one...you just want your hair to curl, not avoid drug use detection.
Katie and Crissy, there is a visualization technique psychiatrists use to help people recover old memories that helps when you have misplaced things.
The first step is to find a comfortable place/position to relax in and try to clear your mind of thoughts and distractions (just like when you meditate).
Then, try to visualize the last time you held or saw the object in question. Try to remember as many details as possible.
Once you have that image in your mind, mentally retrace what you did and where you went from that point. If you can't "see" it in your mind, don't worry....you are setting the brain to remember...according to research, 9 times out of 10, the brain will, over the next couple days, return to that moment and trigger the memory, providing that you placed the object and it was not taken or moved by someone else.
It really does work...I "lost" a ring of my Mother's and searched for weeks with no luck. A doctor friend of mine suggested this technique and though skeptical, I tried it. I could "see" the ring in my mind, but not what I did with it. Three days later, I remembered that I was wearing the ring and came in to fix supper...meatloaf that night. I took the ring off and dropped it into one of the decorative vases sitting in the kitchen window to keep it clean...and promptly forgot about it. I am notorious for "putting things away for safe keeping" and then forgetting where I put them. I have used this method a number of times, and the only time it did not work was when my DH or GS ran across the item and moved it.
Jean some good techniques..
Never heard of that shampoo but will be n the lookout for it..perhaps slam can order ame in..
Wind is up, looks like rain shortly..omg my boys would absolutely shape their heads in total disgust. Had them here placing slate after I moved everything I.e. set the pump back about six feet..they asked if I was sure that's what I wanted? YES..sat outside for a bit, decided NO didn't like it there, had to move a bunch of heavy slate away, get water out of the pond by 1/2' bring the unt to almost same place I started out..now refilling! Fish is swimming around probably saying someone stop this crazy lady!
Still have lots to do but that will have to wait until next weekend..gee I make a lot of work for myself!
Thank you all for your comments. Scotty is being Scotty.
Here is some info Betty

Called Greg, Melanie is on afternoons this week, told him its Chinese tomorrow and spaghetti tuesday..said he will be here with bells on.
Had my bath, hair washed, in my Jammie's sitting with a big tray of veggies..I'm veggy'ing out!
Thanks Jean, on my way to the link..
Popping in to wish everyone here a Blessed Easter Sunday.
Jaye, hoping you and Kel are enjoying the day as well....
Thank you Betty.
Well, Easter celebrations are over for another year.
Picked up my friend at 6:10 am and went to the Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30. Afterwards dropped her off and picked up DH and we went to a free breakfast they put on for the 3 churches that attended the Service. Bacon, ham, scrambled eggs, pancakes, OJ, coffee/tea, 4 kinds of fresh fruit. Delish!!
At 10:00 went for choir practice for the service at our Church at 10:30.
Afterwards took another friend and went grocery shopping at WM, then get gas for the car.
Now I have a Pork Loin roast in the slow cooker - guess we're eating at 7:30 pm LOL It's just Bob & I for dinner, but will have leftovers - 4 lbs of pork loin will do for awhile LOL
All this on 1/2 hour sleep last night LOL
Omg Susan, am exhausted after reading all you have been up to and it's only early afternoon in your neck of the woods..I'll say you will have leftovers..
Been thinking of having a nap, bit achy but no wonder after what I've been listing. Shhhhh fpdont tell my boys!
lol well, I have ONE of your boys emails, so you'd better be good, Betty!! lol
I think I'm going to have a good night's sleep tonight......
Just got a call from my neighbour - my car is leaking gas again (just filled it up, too....)
Called our other neighbour (shade tree mechanic) to fix it again. NOT that we can afford it..... siiiiiiiiiigh
Omg I forgot you do Susan..not good!
Drats on the gas..just what you needed!
LOL Betty - you'd better be good then, eh? LOL
Yeah, Just What We Need.......... our mechanic is here now.....
Hello To All !
Glad everyone had a wonderful Easter !
Susan - think there is some additive you can sometimes add to the tank to ease the leaking.... if so Crissy might know what..but it may be another type leak I'm thinking.
Jean - You are incredible with the info you can find. Maybe you can research Whooping Cough inAdults - best treatments? I did have a good day today though.
Bev - (HUGS) Think of you my daylilies are about to bloom. Crissy - love that on the hair... you always love what you don'thave, right....
Deb - hope Shane gets back okay and the guys continue to help him out. forgot to ask left or right hand and is it the one he writes with ?
Glad to see Suse and Barb and everyone popping in. Dianne... surely there are some goodies somewhere to be found... sounds SO relaxing listening to the service nearby.
Betty I'll bet Jeff grew up relaxing on the chesterfield. Hubs falls asleep on the sofa every night.then heads to bed.
Waving Thunder, LK, etc. again so glad to see all today...
We had a nice Easter, beautiful weather Huh Jean! Whole family at MIL's with 3 additions, niece's BF, DS's GF and DSD2's BF. So it was great to see so many comfortable with being a part of the family. May post pics in a bit
(HUGS)
Mary
Thank you Jean ! Looks like treatment with Antibiotics... which I've done again and again....
(HUGS)
Mary
Mary - this isn't just a leak, it's cracked. Our mechanic said we'd need to get the tank replaced.
About a month ago he fixed the hole with a silicon or caulking adhesive.
Today I went over a rough entrance to a back lane, and I suppose that's when the crack happened......
Morning all..coffee is on and hot cross buns await you!
not so sure the sun will come out today, dull and high winds are the call of the day
Wow, came in yesterday and absolutely nothing, in bed at supper time and slept through the night..guess I was tired. Pleased with all I and the boys accomplished this weekend..soon I can start working the gardens.
Sitting here wishing I had Easter Monday off..
Susan, sorry to hear that it's a gas tank replacement you need, will have to put that on back burner and use Bob's vehicle! Are you a speedster??
Mary that was quite a crew at MIL's..nice though to interact with family you haven't seen in a bit..still say your problems stem from stress..is the project you are working to make life easier any closer to a finish??
Jean, you've come up with such interesting info.. Glad your grandson enjoyed his trip...does he live with you?
Liz, have you heard from Judy over Easter break?
Well, best I get a move on...
Morning everyone! Thanks for the coffee and hot cross buns! They sound yummy!
Susan, sorry to hear about the gas tank!
Good morning, busy day but wanted to say hello.
Had great visit with the kids, yet I murdered dinner. Just to to salty, and I don't add salt.
DH is at PT, and I have to get DS up and we leave about 1:00 to go to Chiro....then back up to college.
Waving to all.....behave yourselves!
Debbie
Goodness, those boys sure are growing!
Aren't they though..
Got a kick out of Caleb, here he is with teeth braces, has a hair doo that is back in the 50's and he is sure he looks so cool..of course grandma told him she thought he was one heck of a looker..lol
Greg who is 6'2" is starting to look up at Kyle when talking..wow Kyle has sprouted!
He dropped in to visit with me yesterday afternoon, still I look to see who is talking as his voice is so loud and deep..
how odd, tried posting photo's of Debbie's pressie to me 3 times and all lost..will try posting 2 at a time..
meant to add, the pink unit in Jeff's truck is for Julie's fitness room..professionally made by Greg and Jeff on Saturday
Then the stained glass for Julie is on it's way to her, IF IT MAKES it...lordy he handles some things like a bull in a china shop..don't know how many times I said "JEFF!!!" lol
Good Morning, grinning and waving to you all.
Hope you all had a warm at heart lovely day. Nice looking family Betty...see the boys dropped the videos for cake...food always wins over electronics...grin
Susan, is there a possibility that the gas tank can be welded? Removing and welding may be less expensive than having to buy new/install.
Have a safe trip, Debbie. Hope Shane's arm is less painful today. congestion deep in the air passages
Mary, how are you on staying hydrated? Liquids are essential to getting better. It is necessary to thin the congestion in the lungs so each cough is productive. Bodies at rest tend to breathe more shallowly thus not "bringing up" phlegm settled deeper in the airways. Lots of fluids and guaifenesin (muccinex) can help some in that it also thins mucous and is a cough suppressant. Sounds weird, you cough less but each cough drags more yuk outta your airways. A vaporizer/humidifier can also be beneficial at night to help keep your airways from becoming dry and irritated.
Jean, they certainly are eaters..that's why they are growing a mile a minute..lol
Debbie, bet you just want to keep Shane home with you seeing as he's still in so much pain..nice day for a ride.. oooh, have you been using my recipe's or method of cooking??? maybe everybody added salt..could have put a raw potato in it as it sops out excess salt, ask how I did learn that little trick???
The gas tank couldn't be welded - even gas fumes would mean it may explode. Safest is to get a recycled one.....
Bob has a big ole truck, and I couldn't drive it.
Even our pastor says "Bad things just seem to follow you, don't they?" yes, they do...........
He thought we'd moved to Calgary without having our 'ducks in a row'. We'd come here after interviewing for jobs and getting them, and finding a place to live that we bought. We were all set.......... then it started. I lost my job after being in it for 2 weeks (4 weeks after moving here) because there was no work - even a co-worker had asked our boss "what are you going to have Susan do when she arrives - there's no work?!" They only had filing for me....... then let me go And for Bob - his bosses were embezzling his paycheque (saying the company didn't pay them so they can't pay Bob - construction work.......) And so it continued.
We own the trailer, and cannot afford to move back to Winnipeg and not sure there are jobs there anyway.....
We've been here for 6 years, and all seems terribly Wrong, except for our Church and the beautiful surroundings....
Actually Susan, gas tanks can be welded. They are drained, filled with dry ice, welded and after the dry ice evaporates the tank is reinstalled. that is why I suggested it...no matter what you decide, the tank has to be drained and removed...sometimes the cost of welding the old tank is considerably less than replacement...but you would need to find a welder. (the link below is for a shop that does gas tanks)
http://www.yellowpages.ca/bus/Alberta/Calgary/A-A-Manufacturing/2064663.html
WOW - Jean, you're amazing!!!!!
I'm on the phone with them now..........
Susan, it almost seems that since you have moved to Calgary NOTHING has gone right!! Got to tell you I've had many ups/downs but if I had to cope with it on a daily basis don't know how I'd make out..
Think we had a gas tank welded many many moons ago..Jean, never mind your family I'm going to call you the Google Queen
Jean is our resident do-gooder..lol
