Thanks everyone! Now next week they will go in and remove the brain tumor, or as much as they can safely remove. They will also remove the cancer mass on his spine. Then he will more than likely stay at the hospital for the next 6 months having chemo and radiation treaments. Prayers are still needed, he has a long road ahead of him and one hell of a fight.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

How do his parents bear it? Prayers for them.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

They are 27 & 30 years old and this is their first and only child. My Great nephew went through some hard times, got into drugs after his father ditched the family. Spent some time in jail, then he met Megan and turned his life around. Straightened out, got clean, a job abd started taking classes and patched things up with his Dad. When they found out Adam was on the way, he quit school to work 2 jobs. Adam is his world.....i'm very afraid for him if anything happens to Adam.

Your family is still in my heart and prayers. The serenity prayer comes to mind.

Just popping in to say hello and goodbye....we are moving to Dallas/Fort Worth somewhere arounf May 1. DH got a promotion; we're hoping to keep the Boston house and just rent in D/FW for a few years since we've spent so much $$ and energy making this place accessible and into garden instead of lawn -- not a change everyone would appreciate.

Anyway I popped in to mention I had surgery and was in the rehab hospital and was moving and I find you guys all praying that Adam will make it through brain surgery! Holy cow! DH and I add our prayers to the group's....I hope everybody is all right. Yes, somebody mentioned the Serenity Prayer....one thing everybody can agree on. I have to go back and read about Adam. Louise's BIL, Jan's GS, AYC free spay and neuter clinic, everybody's posts and stories are swirling around in my head.

DH has done a lot of work with austistic kids--introducing them to airplanes, trying to enable their families to travel as easily as anyone else does despite the extra challenges autistic kids bring, etc. JetBlue is getting an award from somebody for all the volunteer programs they've done with autistic kids. (I'm typically muddy on the details.) But DH is being transferred to open up D/FW which will start May 1 with 3 flights Dallas-Boston daily! I'll probably have to stay in Boston until DD#2 graduates June 4, then we're out of here! We looked in kind of a token, haphazard way at possible apartments last week. Everything is happening very quickly. Yikes. Hugs (Northeast Forum).

Good luck & look for air conditioning.

Thomaston, CT

Best wishes, Carrie......I'm sure you'll like Texas, especially when we are buried in snow!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Hah! Yeah, I'll be laughing then, but you guys will be laughing at me when I have to water my Earthbox with dishwater and toothbrush water in the summer.

Good luck to all of us who are counting on doctors and nurses and medical people--it sounds like they need a steady and gifted hand, eye, and heart. I had a bunch of neurological and Ot, PT blah blah blah evaluations done while I was in Rehab. I hate to admit it but I am not up to par. My hand-eye coordination is not what it's supposed to be, my vocab, my memory, all these subtle things they test with strange tests (subtract 7 from 100, now subtract 7 from that, etc. That's not so hard but when you're doing it every 2 seconds and changing whether you're adding or subtracting and rhe number keeps changing--I flunked). Hugs, too, to all my NE forum riends that I've actually met! Don't change TOO much -- according to the latest data I'm not good at short term memory.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

best of luck Carrie

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks, Allison. You, I'll always rememder--I think. I always think I'm remembering everyhing until it turns out I've forgotten something REALLY important, like medicine, or underwear, or a Parent Teacher Conference.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Best of everything, Carrie. I've enjoyed your articles and posts, and hope you keep writing. What your DH is doing sounds very important. There have been some fantastic activists in my town who may know his work. I am learning the meaning of kids' graduating myself. I hope you fare well in your rehabs, and enjoy the extra bounty of sunshine in Texas.

Best wishes on your move...I LOVE Dallas

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Best wishes for a successful move, Carrie! Continue to improve with your health issues. HUGS

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh my goodness, thanks everybody! I will probably lurk on your threads sometimes for old times' sake. So don't be talking about me or what is it? My ears will burn? I forget what is supposed to happen if you talk about someone behind his/her back.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Good luck Carrie, I hope you enjoy the time in the South. Just think of it as another Chapter and enjoy the ride!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Best of luck, Carrie! Please come back when you get settled there to let us know how you are doing and what you are planting there. I, too, have enjoyed your articles, but haven't looked at any articles in awhile. Please keep writing!

Louise, you are an example to me! If you can totally uproot yourself twice a year, surely I can uproot myself at least once.

Good for him!

ugh what a morning... sitting watching the news .. having my coffee playing fetch with the dogs.. took my glasses off because Eros has a habit of flopping on my shoulder and sometimes hits my glasses into my nose.. then I see something black crawling on the pillow next to my arm... can't see what it is.. freak out.. it jumped away.. and of course the stupid cave cricket landed in my coffee.. to his death.. NOT NICE!!!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Hee hee hee! Sorry!!! Thank goodness it was only a cricket. Josh's gecko would of taken care of it for you. :)

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I laughed too Allison!

I had forgotten how many questions a four and a half year old can come up with, I was remined this week. Luci has been driving me nuts LOL I don't know where she come up with some of the stuff she asks me, she wore me out!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Ewww!!!

I hear you loud and clear about 4 yr old. I just cracked up, cuz Maggie talks a blue streak and it's exhausting!

Thomaston, CT

Yes, my 4 year old grandson Grant never shuts up....of course, he's trying to compete with his 2 noisy sisters! Allison, glad it was a cricket & not a spider....they were very active in my garden yesterday!
