Coffee Break # 77

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks.

Great solar day. Clear skies and cool temps equal optimum performance. 34 kWh.

South Hamilton, MA

going to be cold & windy again tomorrow.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

That IS the best compliment, Victor. They had a good role model. That is one of the things for which I am most thankful that all my sons are wonderful husbands and fathers.

Great news about Garret!

Thomaston, CT

Thanks all....he's happy, wife would rather see him teaching.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The news many have been waiting for with great enthusiasm.

South Hamilton, MA

I hope that works with sugar free chocolate.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

ehhhh, next week they'll come out with a different study

Thomaston, CT

Chocolate for dessert tonight!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Dinner!!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Chocolate anytime for me.
Sugar free is a laxative if eaten too much at a given time.

Thomaston, CT

Yeah, sugar free stuff has to be eaten in moderation! My DH's nephew by first marriage is rebuilding my garden fence today.....about a quarter of needs replacing.....then I have to paint it ...

South Hamilton, MA

useful however.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

It had to happen. I am trying to get around the people who will march and protest, same ones that object to stemcell research or using cordblood.

Thomaston, CT

I'll stick with the chocolate.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Never heard of people protesting against using cord blood. Stem cell research is opposed because of the discarded embryos.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Sorry I dont believe it. I am such a cynik these days.

I guess I didnt know about disgarded embrios. Its a sensative area.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I'll let my DIL know about the afterbirth, I'm sure it will get her wanting to get pregnant again!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Well, I'm not telling my DIL, LOL. She is nauseous enough!! Heehee. They just got back from the ob/gyn after a second ultrasound. There IS a baby there and they saw the heart beating. These last few weeks have been a roller coaster for them. Now they can focus on a healthy pregnancy. Eary November. I am beyond excited!!!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Jan will they found out if it's going to be a boy or girl?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee!

No, I have seen that bicycle story elsewhere, Jo.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Was that before the War? when the boy left the bike at the tree. Thats the only way I would believe it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Mega Millions almost half a billion dollars!! Holy crap. What should I do with it??

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

pay down the US debt?

ewwww on the placenta

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No way. I did not get us in debt.

South Hamilton, MA

There are stem cells in that placenta which can do good work without worrying about discarded embryos. I'm all for it, afterall the patient doesn't work with it. Otherwise thrown away.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - me too. More encouraging is the non-embryonic stem cell research using skin, teeth, etc.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ewwww - walk into a room slowly!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

can't read it.. will never leave my own house!!!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Victor we will send our addresses your way for a check!
I have trouble in movie theaters for that reason...ewww all those germs on the seat....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I decided I will rent out the NY Bot Garden for the ultimate RU!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yes!!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

awesome

I think they said they were doing great things with the stem cells from the cord blood

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Here's my DD2, wanting to study biology. She's got some good offers and has to decide. There's Skidmore, Union, U Vermont, U New Hampshire, Umass amherst so far. Wait list Wash U st Louis. Hasn't heard from Trinity and Collecticut college yet. Course we want her to plan some visits to help her to decide.

Other DD is equally up in the air for her language studies. We'd like her to check out Oberlin and Gettysburg where the money's especially good, but she does have some offers still to get.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Decisions, decisions. Glad they have the options. Praying for wisdom for them(you).

I'd definitely come to that RU, Victor.

Luvs, I don't know if they will find out what sex the baby is before birth. Son says boys are easier, but Maggie wants a baby sister. Early November is the ETA.

Thomaston, CT

My head would be spinning about now, Rosemary! Jan, good news so far!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Think of the cat retirement farm I could have with half a billion dollars or the number of free spay and neuters I could give away! AND I could get a newer car that has brake lights and doesn't leak oil!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I would spend mine the same way. Free neuter and spay plus catch-spay-release for ferril cats.

South Hamilton, MA

trust funds for 6 grandchildren. big money for save the children. then free spay for animals.
