Nice Paintings Louise. Good shadows on the tree path.
Happy Easter everyone.
Coffee Break # 77
Happy Easter everyone enjoy your day!
Celeste, that is such good news about Adam. What an ordeal you are all going through. Prayers continue, and are heard.
Thanks very much to all of you very generous art critics. :). My son, Mike has asked for the NH road painting for his house. Sweet, huh? As a beginner, it is so nice to hear such encouragement. To be honest, I have been very ill this winter following an autoimmune attack on my thyroid that completely crashed. I now have the right meds and am slowly coming back, and they finally ruled out thyroid cancer. The painting has been a huge diversion from some awful nausea spells and depression. I had no idea that my carpal tunnel was caused by the inflammation associated with it as well. There are so many complications that occur when your brain and body are deprived of all the necessary hormones. I'm just really grateful for finding the right meds finally. My carpal tunnel has all but gone now. The fatigue and "brain fog' and nausea persist, but they will gradually go away too. Hank and I are taking our art supplies to the farm to paint some more of the beauty there. It's lovely to be coming back!
Jo, coming from such a real artist like you, that is so nice! :)
Victor, if you ever come to a RU, we would love to witness your kazoo act. You're amazing all the way around! Frankly, you are all amazing to me. Happy Easter...a wonderful time for blessings and renewal. Friends are one of the bestest blessings!
The paintings are wonderful, Louise! You are very talented! Victor, I went through the whole wound thing with my DH....we went to the Wound Center at the hospital for several months, but guess who got to change the bandages in between? And I never saw that gray, felted stuff that they use...weird! Also, I never wanted to be a nurse, but you do what you have to do.....Pixie, hope things are going better for Adam...I pray for him daily. Jo, My brother is in Pittsford for Easter....I'm praying he makes it home safely....
Oh, Louise....so glad you are feeling better!
So you are feeling better Louise♥
Thank you, Marilyn and Ronnie. Glad Spring is here for us all!
Happy Easter, everyone!
Louise, sorry to hear about all your troubles. I'm glad your on the mend now and feeling much better. I know what it's like to have fatigue and brain fog. I have it quite often, and it's been that way for years. I thought it was being caused by the sleep apnea, but I've used the CPAP for over a year now, and I still feel the same. I've had my thyroid checked, and there's no problem there. I just don't know what to do. Guess I'll need to discuss it with my doctor and look at different things. My memory problems are getting worse this past year. I am so scatterbrained and forgetful. And I feel like my creativity has mostly left me.
Anyhow, enough of that. Still praying for Adam and Victor's MIL and Hank's brother. Prayers go out to anyone else who needs them, as well.
Karen
Popping in to wish everyone a Happy Easter!
Praying for a good recovery for Adam and for his parents. Also praying for continued healing for your MIL, Victor. Glad you are home. Also, glad to hear the good news about your BIL, Louise. Love your artwork.
Little kids are sooo inquisitive and interactive. Down here in Texas, the almost 1 yr old is on the move constantly, except for eating and a long nap in the afternoon. I am tired just watching her.
Happy Easter Jan! Having fun? :)
Prayers for all of you who need it. Happy
Easter to all. It is 46 here & RAW!
Definitely having fun!!! I weeded this afternoon and son and DH dug out some weedy shrubby things. I told DS to ut down some cardboard and mulch to keep down the weeds. Most everyone here in The Woodlands has a service to take care of their yards. DS does it himself. The neighbors probably want him to have a service, too. If they want to pay for it, then I think they would be agreeable to that. Heehee.
I edged and mulched the edge of my front garden today, gorgeous day.
Gotta really get going in the garden this week.
A CAT scan showed that Adam had a perforation (hole) in his intestines somewhere and they had to bring him in for emergency surgery this morning. The good news is .....One of Adam's doctors came up who was watching the surgery and he said they easily repaired the hole in his intestine and the rest looked good. No dead tissue, and not much waste had contaminated the rest of his belly. Looks like this is just a set back from the chemo and other therapy's for a few days. God is good!!
Great news!!!
Yes. They have been through enough already.
That poor family......they have been through the mill.....
no kidding.. poor baby
Oh, Lord....that poor baby! I have tears in my eyes....
It's very hard to look at, someone that small having to go through SOOOOOOO much!
made me tear up too.. poor thing
:(
So sad.
One tough boy!
And such a beautiful little baby too! Heartbreaking to think of the constant stress on his parents. So many prayers for them all.
No denying the wrenching heartache. Still, I see a beautiful boy, who, but for the things attached, looks like he's sleeping. Prayers that this surgery becomes little more than a memory of past troubles. I speak as someone whose premie newborns struggled for survival. Everyone said we'd have to let go of the usual suburban wishes for higher education, but that was wrong. Modern medicine can produce amazing miracles these days.
That's true, Rosemary.....praying for a miracle here.....
drool drool drool Louise!!!
Love that Alocasia. Frydek, right?
Hello everyone,
Celeste, I have read up about Adam and want to offer you my strength, love and support. I'll be praying for Adam and his parents. May God's silver lining be seen quickly!
Louise, I love that you're painting! I'm sorry to hear that you were feeling awful, but it seems you have found a new talent - and your carpel tunnel is gone too. I'd love to come and paint together.
In my neck of the woods, I have some good news. My sister's book, Wrecker is going to be printed again in paperback. Yay! They're changing the name to Raising Wrecker and are changing the illustrations (at chapter headings) to... drumroll... MY DRAWINGS! Yay!!! I'll be a full-fledged published illustrator. Well, nevermind the nepotism. I earned this! I hope everyone buys a book and one for their friends too! Here's one of the drawings - copyrighted! Harper Wood 2012
Hugs all around.

Cool - congrats, Harp! Unfortunately that cone looks identical to one on my tree so expect legal action. ;)
that is so awesome... congrats to the both of you!!!
I'll be looking for tht book.
Hey Harper! I am so excited for you, and your illustrations will be such a great addition! I will definitely buy her book....after all, I am a follower of your sister's after I picked her book in the raffle! :). Good for both of you! I would love to have you come to the farm to do some painting with me. Lots of good botanicals everywhere you look.
LOL, Victor! I don't think that was the name on it, but I'm not sure. It was a gift from my son for my last birthday. I love the coloration. I put together a vase of colorfulfoliage from my plants and painted it for class a leaf from it had a starring role. :)
Well, how wierd does that look all squished down!! I guess there are a few limitations on some of the icab shots. :).
Tought it was the FL humidity!
great job Louise!!!
Oh, poor Adam! Glad the surgery went well and it was a minor thing. So much for him and his family to have to deal with. That's so sad.
Ooooo, nice backyard color, Louis! Is that plant with the huge leaves an elephant ear? Reminds me so much of skeletons. Great still life painting.
Congrats on the book, Harper! Great drawing. I will have to look for it when it becomes available.
Karen
