I'm thankful the P.A. found the real reason for my pain of the last two years .Treatment starts tomorrow .

Wow. What did they find? katie

I am grateful that I can have a wonderful assortment of chickens and that they are finally laying a good supply of eggs for my friends as well as my own needs.

Tam - I so wished I lived closer.

Digger - I'm glad they found out what is wrong and can start treating it. It is a bummer when it takes that long for someone to figure it out.

I'm grateful for my husband who is out picking up a "healthy" pizza, my engineering license, and warmer weather today.

Hey , I went in with an M R I to the second specialist for my back and the P A discovered it was my hip . Had a shot into the joint yesterday (Didn't hurt) and altho it still has a twinge, am almost totally pain free .It'll take another 2 or 3 days .Could be a hip replacement later . Bone on bone .
More injections for the spine later .That will be small stuff .
I'm so thankful for P A s that take the job serious
He found out my granddaughter is a P A and asked me why I didn't go to her and I said "LOL
.No way , I used to change her diaper "
I'm so thankful that I can go outside today , in this beautiful weather and play in the dirt .No cane , no walker .
Yea on the engineering license ,SusanKC
Good to see you Katie , I never did figure out how you made steps out of the tires . That post was from several years ago .

Digger - What is a PA? Glad to hear that they figured out it's the hip. My FIL had a partial hip replacement and he was up and walking right away.

Thankful for cold weather without wind, grateful for our first significant snowfall of the year was minor, and grateful that everyone in our house is healthy.

I am thankful for the excuse to bake cookies and fill the house with the sweet smells.

Susan , a PA is physicians assistant . They do everything the Dr . doesn't have time for but have to get his approval for some treatments . I'll be seeing a specialist for the back the 6 th Jan . Hard pain is from the hip tho .
Tammy , I want an excuse to come help eat the cookies . Never have to find an excuse to bake them .Thankful to get out Yesterday .

We call them nurse practitioners here. Wonder why the name difference?

I think you should play the bad hip card and offer to quality test the cookies for Tam if she mails you sample cookies. Engineers always like QA tests on their products. :-)

Grateful for a home cooked meal and warm kitchen that smells wonderful. Also grateful for extra time to sleep tonight as it is supposed to be the longest night of the year.

somewhere, PA

Sorry but they are now all spoken for. Sorry Digger. Let me know when you'll be here and I'll bake you a fresh batch. :-)

I love PA. and I-80 all the way east to west and back , but think I'll stay down south for at least the winter . If I ever get back up that way again , I'll be glad to eat them
I've seen nurse practitioners in the help wanted ads down here . I don't have a clue if they are different or not .

Today I am thankful that I have my last radiation treatment tomorrow and can expect a full recovery from a disease that would have killed me for sure not long ago. Breast cancer. Get your mamograms everyone - they reallyc an save your life. I have a 2-inch thin line scar on the t op of my right breast as a souviner. Early detection can save you.

After my treatment I should be able to head home to Mexico. I miss my friends and my furbabies but have been treated very well here. With luck, I';; be home in time to do my Santa gig on Christmas but I am not going to rush.

Worst case scenario is that Santa comes on New Years. I don't think any children will object. Especially as I have thirty pounds of hard candies in addition to lots and lots of stuffed toys.

hugs, katie

Katie , I didn't know . Hope for a fast recovery for you and I'm thankful you caught it early .
Blessings for you .

hugs to you Katie. Congratulations.

Today I am grateful to have time and resources to take pottery class. And to have a good friend join me.

Shawnee Mission, KS(Zone 6a)

Hugs and congratulation Katie. Here are wishes that Mexico, Christmas, and Santa be there at the same time again this year.

Grateful for a cleaner house, soup on the stove, and people who are willing to get up early in order to do a blood draw. I had one done this morning for a checkup. The lab/office we went to opened at 7am.

Darn on the cookies all being spoken for. I was about to offer my QA skills in testing them before they get mailed. :-)

An early Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.

I can't believe its almost a year since we all shared our gratitudes.

Today I enjoyed a delicious tomato found after 3 hard frosts. For that I am truly grateful.

And I see my last post was expressing gratitude for finding a wonderful pottery class. I've been going every week since Dec last year and its been absolutely fabulous! I bought a very inexpensive second hand table and am now also working on projects at home too. Life brings such unexpected joys.

I'm grateful that just a few days after my last post , my second great grandchild was born , a boy , healthy and now on his way to a great future . Thank you , God .

Fabulous occasion for gratitude Sally!!!

Today I am grateful that my 81yr dad is getting another chance to bond with my brother and heal some of the pain they've caused each other (and some of the pain that life has thrown at my brother).

Shawnee Mission, KS(Zone 6a)

It does not seem that long ago that we were all posting here.

Digger - Congratulations on the new grandchild. May his future be bright.

Tam - I've enjoyed seeing your pottery. Post more when you get a chance.

I'm grateful for a beautiful fall both in leaf color and in weather.

I'm grateful for my almost 20 year old cats. I'm not sure how much longer we will have them but whatever time is remaining we are enjoying.

somewhere, PA

I'm grateful for the 17yrs we had with our kitten Fred. Yet another reminder of how fast the years can pass and so how important to cherish each day.

Here's a couple pieces I made at home for my sisters' new yarn studio (spinning, weaving & knitting area she's in the process of setting up). Not yet fired. The second one is the largest vessel I've made yet in clay. About 9" tall and over 10" wide at the top.

I'm thankful that I finally finished processing a deer and could get outside for some much needed watering .
Also that I'm not having the horrible pain in my groin like last year . Looks like a doctor free winter .
Thank you , Lord , for another day to enjoy your beautiful earth .
