Sorry you are both with colds. Nice you are past the worse.
May is beautiful. How was your trip?
General Discussion & Chat: Today, I am thankful for...#12
Susan - do you mean my trip to CA? Every other week in Ca. I go again tomorrow. This week will be nice 'cause my brother will also be there on business. So we're getting together with my sister (who lives there). The three of us haven't been together at one time in about 7yrs.
Tam
Tam - Yes. Your trips to CA. Nice that you can get together with your brother and sister while you are in CA. It will make for a nicer business trip. Did you get moved to a hotel room with a kitchen?
Thankful for nice weather, a well running car, and the mechanics that keep it running that way.
I have booked a Residence Inn (with kitchen). This week and a corporate suites place next visit. Will see which is nicer.
It's another glorious day here.
Digger -I hope and your you are 100% soon!
Thanks, This isn't as bad as pneumonia three months ago , and am out pinestrawing the plant beds .D H is napping now and whining when he's awake . Just kidding , I know he's miserable .
I used to live in Motels all over Texas . I didn't travel as far as you do , so got a nice travel trailer to live in when I was working out a territory.
Today I am thankful for beautiful weather. That it's still cool enough to get a little work done in the morning. That my friend Tony comes to work six days a week.
Also thankful that I've lost almost fifty pounds even though it doesn't seem to have helped my bed knee much I feel better.
That my niece thanks me for being her role model in making some escape from a sick family.
katie
A kitchen motel room or travel trailer with a place to cook and put your stuff helps with traveling. Althought sometimes I just lived out of the suitcase rather than have to unpack. Easiest when I was visiting sites and wearing outdoor work clothes.
Digger - Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Katie - Congradulations on lossing the weight. What worked for you for the weight loss?
The best help I found is with the Fat Flush plan, though I've not followed it too well. No wheat and no sugar.
katie
No wheat and no sugar cuts a lot of foods that are high in calories.
Thankful for a nice weather, the smell of clean sheets, and flowers that blooms.
Also, lots of people are allergic to wheat.
The Fat Flush book is readily available on eBay fairly cheap. Lots of good ideas in it.
Today I am thankful that nights and early mornings are still nice and cool here.
Also thankful that Tony moved my wringer washer to under the flame tree where I'll have lots of shade.
katie
Flame tree sounds pretty.
Thankful for affectionate pets, shade trees in the yard, and birds bathing themselves in the birdbath.
Grateful for the fact it's raining out, supper market stores with fresh produce, and wok shaped cooking pans. The last two make cooking easier.
Grateful that I'm coming home and will be enjoying entertaining some friends at home & a long weekend. (another week of work in CA.)
Tam
HAve a safe trip home and a wonderful weekend!
Grateful for all the rain we are getting, that my kiwi plants came yesterday, and that we have a long holiday weekend.
Thankful for on-demand movies, neighbor's, and the season's first fresh snap peas.
I'm grateful for dear friends and traditional memorial day bbq. And for the time to enjoy preparing for the event.
Tam
He was actuall fiesty when that pic was taken . The sun was so bright and he wasn't impressed about having a leash on .lol
What a face! LOL Cute as can be...
Today, I'm very grateful for the vets and techs at our Banfield Clinic at PetSmart. They saved one of our kitties during the last Holiday season and now are helping us through a tough time with another kitty who is in liver failure. She has a chance to recover and they are working overtime to give her more. Bravo, Banfield Team!!!
He's also a nipper , with blood , when you tick him off .
Yikes! LOL
Glad they are able to help out with his heart condition.
Grateful for a nice holiday weekend, movies that are entertaining, and weather cool enough to sit outside in.
Grateful for rain this week and cooler weather, for the veggies out of the garden this season, and for knowledge.
We got a twenty minute downpour last night .
Pepper seems to be responding well with Lasix every eight hours instead of every twelve hours . Two other meds for his heart .I'm doing a happy dance after about $1500 . About the price of an old junker car to go fishing in and I get love and kisses from Pepper , an old junk car doesn't even hug back !
No the old junker does not hug back or give kisses. Glad to hear Pepper is doing better.
Thanks bunches . He's asleep under my feet as we talk .
Yeah for Pepper!
I'm thankful for a beautiful quart of my own (organically grown) strawberries and a lovely sunny day.
Tam
Yum on the strawberries. I gratefull that we got the mimosa and grape vines taken care of today.
Thankful for a mostly quiet day, humminbirds at the feeder, and watching the birds in the birdbath.
That we are putting a steel roof on our rental trailer before any problems develop, and that we can .
My little Pepper is doing so good .
A good night's sleep .
Grateful for cooler mornings, a dog that's back walking, and green grass. Last years drought made the grass very brown.
I'm glad to hear pepper is going better.
I'm happy to be home again. Grateful to hear our furbabies are doing better here too!
Welcome home!
Grateful for getting one portion of the rockwall moved, for watching the furbabies take their nap, and for the person who checked/bagged our groceries.
Thanks Susan. I'm so enjoying the day. I had a leisurely morning, catching up on my mail over a few cups of coffee and catching up with some lap-time with my kitty Pixel. I just love a purring cat! Puttered a bit in the greenhouse & then had a delicious kefir smoothie for lunch. I scored local sweet cherries at the farmers' store down the road and have a lovely pot of squash lentil stew ready to put in the slow cooker tomorrow.
I'm just grateful to be home.
Sounds like a nice day. I always was glad to get home after being out of town so much. The squash lentil stew sounds good.
Thankful for the rain we are getting this morning, the veggies that we've picked out of the garden, and a cleaner house. We've been working so much on the gardens that the house cleaning has been neglected.
I love this thread so much and have missed it. I am grateful for the wonderful cool nights and look forward to the beautiful colors of fall we'll be enjoying soon.
Tam
So glad you revived this one. I'm thankful I found a job yesterday.
I'm thankful for healing and health. ♥♥♥
Thankful my sweet neighbor who is in hosp , and will never come home , is kept comfortable and pain free . A sweeter man never walked .
When he came down to sit and visit , I usually offered him a frozen Margarita , which he always declined , except for the first time or two . I told him yesterday when he woke up that I brought him one , but the nurses wouldn't let him have it , so I drank it myself . He smiled at that and to see him smile was something I'll always be grateful for . His son saw it too and was thrilled .
Grateful I've met him and had him close for 12 years .
Sounds like a sweet thing to do and a good memory for everyone also.
