# 13 - New Thread. We came from here http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1240999/
Scientists now know that being grateful on a daily basis makes for a happier life. Sometimes, all it takes to help smooth a rough day is to remember what we have for which to be grateful. Big or small, thoughtful or funny, there is always something--even during those times when we have to dig really deep to find it. Come join us in writing about all that you are grateful for in your life.

General Discussion & Chat: Today, I am thankful for...#12
New thread. Looks like I didn't get eh new thread number in on the title. It's 13
I'm grateful for the new thread Susan. And maybe its for the best to skip the number just this once.
I've been battling a cold and am grateful I work from home so no one knows how hard I am coughing when in meetings. The beauty of a mute button!
Tam
ooo ooo is that a heath/heather on the right? purty!
Yup! I had a white version that died. I saw this and had to have it. I love Heath so much. This one is Kramer's Red.
Sorry to hear about the cold and cough. Hope it gets better soon.
Very nice flowers. I love the look of heather but would need to figure out how to grow it in the yard.
way cool! Its a beauty!
Oops. Took too long on that post.
Susan - we have a heath/heather nursery owner in the rock garden society. She tells me they like a lot of sun and acidic soil.
Tam
I was surprised to learn there are even heathers that will grow in the south.
Today, I am thankful to have my little vegetable plot closer to the house. The wheelchair garden was created for the convenience of wheelchair gardeners who came here to garden. Not for the ones who actually live here. It is immediately on the left as you drive in, but some distance from the house. All I have growing at the moment are tomatoes and peppers in strawbales and eBuckets so it wasn't too hard to move. (Jim)
Nice they have a veggie plot for you.
Thankful for policeman, neighbors, and spring.
Thankful for viburnum blooms, green grass, and local sourcing groceries.
I am so grateful for the abundant color bursting all over this property. The phlox has matured into 2-3' round mats of color and the daffodils & minor bulbs are providing wonderful punches of color all over. The tulips are also adding their bright colors to the mix now too. I am so grateful for spring. Each year, right before everything emerges I start to lament what a drab and weedy property this is but then "boom" I'm crying at the beauty I see here.
Tam
Same here on the beauty. We are always looking for new plants to stretch spring earlier. A couple weeks ago we went to the botanical gardens and found some new things that bloom earlier that what we have already.
Grateful for herbal cookbooks, freinds with connections to lavender farms in Oregon, and dpring blooms.
I am thankful for parrot tulips. The only way to get a tulip fix this far south. :-)
Thankful for modern AND alternative medicine. (Jim)
I didn't think about there being a south limit on tulips. Glad you can plant some of them.
I'm so thankful for my full plate , over pneumonia, Pepper , my pup is home from the vet and outlook is good . Thankful for low intrest credit cards for an emergency, to be back in Georgia , for neighbor who caught another neighbor snooping in my fenced yard in Texas and called the cops same night we left . Yep , my plate is ful
Sounds full. Sorry to hear you've had pneumonia. That does not sound like fun.
Grateful for sunny spring day yesterday and rain the day before. Still too dry here.
Thankful for peas growing, the grass getting mowed, and getting more homework done.
Thankful for W M 10.00 prescripts . Medco has gone out of site on some of theirs and I'll do better with W M . Generic 10.00 vs brand name 60.00 for three months . Generic , same drug , Medco 20.00 three mos script
Target is also suppose to have better prices. DHs DR sent him there last year for scrips.
Thankful for a number of quiet nights, flowers blooming, and brids nesting.
Twenty two miles to Target , but good to know for lots of others . My DR sent me too .
So grateful for a lovely weekend. We got just a little rain (very much needed) and the sun came out this afternoon. I got a lot done outside.
Tam
Thankful for a wonderful weekend with a wonderful friend . ( I ate too much )
These are great threads. Okay, where did everyone go? I'm always late to the party. ^_^
I'm very thankful that my poison ivy rash is just about gone (understatement). I'm thankful for the rain we've had ... and for the way the yard and gardens are bursting with growth and color this year.
^_^
Thankful for all the rain we got, that it's time to start putting tomatoes and peppers in the ground, and that school is almost done.
Thank you for resurrecting the thread! It certainly has been a wonderful experience, using this as a way to ensure I think about all that I have to be grateful for each day. Today I am grateful for the recent rains and to have my veggie garden well underway.
Tam
I aagree with you, Tammy, it's just what I was looking for.
Today I am grateful for the view out this window to the backyard and woods beyond. I love to sit here and watch the scenery change with the seasons. And to watch all the birds ... and the resident groundhog. Lots of activity. ^_^
I'm also thankful for all the berries on the fruiting mulberry tree this year.
Thankful I got the puter working again . Phew !
I know that feeling. I was offline for almost a week with 'puter issues. Ugh! However, in some ways I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a love-hate relationship. :-o)
Today I am grateful to have my adorable "office assistants" helping to make my work day a little lower stress. I have two kitties (sisters) that will spend the day in my office while I'm working. I am working every other week on the west coast and apparently they missed me as much as I did them last week. They've been in the office with me every day this week. One will wake up and demand a few scritches now & again. And so... its hard to feel stressed. Nothing like a purring cat to calm the nerves. :-)
Tam
Glad this was is being revived.
Thankful for Spring, Kitties and nieghbors who help dig.
Thankful for another day of rain, getting more plants in the ground, and a afternoon nap.
Rain ? Is that the stuff that makes you wet ? Almost forgot .
I am thankful for a new week that's a clean slate. ^_^
Raining here too and soooo much cooler. ^_^
Lots of rain as in flash flood warnings last night. And it has been dry here also since last fall.
Thankful for a good night's sleep, a dog who is feeling better, and freinds.
Decent health for my age . Feel like 30 years old .
Local county extension garden tour is this weekend. We went yesterday and had great time.
I'm thankful for all those gardens in the garden tour, garden owners who put their gardens in the tour, and master gardeners who volunteered their time for the garden tour.
May is just the most beautiful month of the year here. June comes really close many years. I appreciate the beauty in nature.
Tam
