Best/Worse/What did I learn today? a visit with friends!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yeah Crissy!!! lol

Katie, it always seems when we aren't feeling the best that these issues come up and they are overwhelming..maybe if you are having a real bad day its best to go sit in the sunshine, enjoy what is left of the day and hope when you wake up tomorrow it will be a sunshine day for you, both outside and inner..thankfully as you say, you have Tony..what a blessing he is...

It's unbelievable that there are still many women who still will not make a move unless sanctioned by their hubby..I always preferred to discuss things with hubby but in the end what I decided I would go with..usually he saw the wisdom in that..lol but not always...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty that's the right way to handle it lol!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Katie, it sounds like Dana has a built in excuse to remain"blameless"...it is "Tom's fault".....what a pity....

As for what other folks think of me....as long as I can look myself in the eye in the mirror every morning, and bow my head every night with a clear conscience and the knowledge that I have done no harm and done my best....their opinion is of no consequence. To worry about what other folks think of you is demeaning to your mind and soul. Chin up, we cross paths with fools and nay-sayers every day....as Shakespeare wrote in Hamlet..

This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

I hope your days are brighter and joyful.

Jean

Victoria Harbour, ON

Jean, now that's the way to look at life...

Almost time to leave for home..Greg is coming for din/din..chicken and slidders (glissantes) for english a type of dumpling..his favorite!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Katie - good for you that you can recognize the "idiots" in your life and I agree with Jean that it's a "built in excuse".

Betty - sitting outside in the sunshine Always helps MY mood, regardless of what the reason for the mood

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just got in, supper cooking and I want to go outside and do my 1/2 hr garden work..wonder if I can cook and do yard work without messing one of them up. Lol

Greg wont get here until 6:30-7:00 so here goes!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, do you make your slidders? Recipe? Don't burn the dinner.

Lyndonville, NY

We are back, and I had a VERY nice chat with Dr. Hotness and a "shoulder hug/squeeze" I think he needs to realign my hips and back to get them working properly....do you think i should make an appointment to see if he can figure out what is wrong with them.

Let me tell you, the man is very very nice to look at....right up there with Greys Anatomy McDreamy, McSteamy Dr. Hottness status.

Oh yeah, Um, DH had to be at the center at Noon. Surgery at 1:00. Well, they were so backed up....they finally wheeled him down the hallway at 2:40! Said "see you in an hour". And sure enough....they called me at 3:42 to come back. He was in quite a bit of pain, got that under control and we were out the door and on way home at 4:55, just in time for Rochester rush hour. Wasn't too too bad...but we are home, he is fed....and we are resting!

Katie, sending hugs.....my Mom was like that, was more "terrified" to make a decision without his permission....it can be a very sad situation. Not all are the same for sure.

OK waving for now, need to get some things done.

Debbie

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Debbie - glad your DH is finished with the surgery! Bet he was happy to be fed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hmmmm Dr. Hotness, eh? roflmfao!! care to send him my way?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good thoughts to your Hubby Debbie. Hope he recovers quickly. And for you....make an appointment....at the very least you will have the first step to feeling better off your back plus...it will be Dr Hotness.....grin Better to be treated by a good looking Doctor than hurt.

As for Katie's neighbor, Dana, it gives her the option to not do what she has no interest in doing and not feel bad about it....(I would but Tom) Tsk tsk.

Betty enjoy dinner with your son.

A sweet peaceful evening to you all.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Greg just left, said his cue was my snoring lol

Did great, worked for 1/2 hour, wanted to do more but kept my promise..1/2 increments.... Told Greg all the yard work this year was overwhelming me..said he would call Andrew with his bobcat and would sod the entire back yard fill in the ponds and I could just sit and enjoy my summer..I said we needed a family work day, took him about a second to remind me we do have one, it's always on Mother's day when they do the list 'of to do's..was batting 0, he had an answer for everything..

As usual I made enough food for the week, I overrate and Greg had 2 big plates full so must have have enjoyed..know it's a favorite of his..I'll call him and tell him to pick up leftovers for tomorrow. Bought a cake then he tells me he is staying away from sweets, now what shall I do with it?

Debbie, I can't believe they operated and let Paul come home immediately..he must be in a tremendous amount of pain..bet you are exhausted..hmmmm you should have had your telephone camera hidden so you could snap/snap/snap so we all could ooooh and ahhh.
Remember Ben Casey and Dr. Kildare! Maybe you are all to young for that..I remember going to teen dance and 1/2 the girls including me were wearing dr. Ben Casey blouses lol..Probably the only time I followed a fad.

Had the vacuum out then Greg arrived, should really vacuum and do floors, animals are dragging in mud.. yuk, but it can wait until morning.

Should go get a few things I left in the car...at lunch Suzanne and I went to the garden gallery, I decided to buy I bird feeder made out of hard metal screening on the outside and glass tubular seed container on inside as a birthday gift for Darlene who pose birthday is Monday..couldn't believe the price...$59.99 and tax the birdseed...will tell her to exchange it if she wants..the holes in metal grill looks so tiny, not sure what birds will be able to feed from it..says it will deter squirrels, chippies and large birds..

Off to bed..help yourselves to the cake..angel food cake with blueberry topping and cream..do me a favor and don't leave me a piece.

Just saw this on the news, people in Canada are urged to get eh whooping cough vaccine.

Baton Rouge, LA

THANK YOU LK! I've been coughing for a YEAR Thanks to Whooping cough... so please... all of you get re-vaccinated... it's really been a horrible horrible thing to go through... a debilitating cough that causes nasty side effects...

I'm not even really over it...

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I hadn't heard of this before, but my cousin (in her 80's) lives in BC in a care home. I've forwarded the link on to her daughter, so she's aware of the Whopping Cough vaccine.
Thank you, LK

Morning, raining, thunder and lightning..hate leaving Sailor on days like this..she frets so!

Haven't had a good start to the morning, whose fault, no one but myself..had a few pieces of glass to cut/foil and solder so I can came Julie's piece..was up early enough due to rumblings of the storm, set the cut pieces in the zinc, had already filled the tub, was washing when I thought I heard water, yep didn't shut the kitchen tap...water all over the floor..hope I mopped it up enough that my kitchen floor won't be damaged..when will I learn..NO multi tasking!!

Debbie, should have stayed awake until you posted the doctors photo then perhaps I'd have had some sweet dreams..he sure is a looker. Hope Paul has a pain free day today.

Wow, talk about a storm..yikes heavy hail...

Thanks for the link LindaKay..I have heard more of people having coughs for what seems forever this year...off how a lot of old illnesses coming back to haunt us..

Mary will indeed go looking to find a photo of the shirt...

Liz,mthanks for the update on Judy..she has been I'll for good part of the winter..drats on her and Thunder's computer problems

Best I get a move on..still much to do..did leave vacuuming and washing of floors till this morning, now I'm wishing I'd have been more energetic last night

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, you be careful. We are supposed to get rain storms this afternoon, but don't think what you are getting.

Paul had a restful night and has had a nice breakfast of pancakes and bacon, along with coffee. Says he is in no pain at all.
He tells me "I may serve him his breakfast" again and he may have pain from a 2X4.

Have a good morning, I will be back in a bit.

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm so laughing Debbie..guess we should all keep a 2x4 ready for special occassions.

storm was moving quickly, passed us by as I left for work!!!

very quiet here again this morning, everyone enjoying March break and the weather.

Sure wish I was home so I could get more gardening done

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Debbie, glad to hear he is in no pain this morning, just wait till he has to get out of bed.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Heather called me last night, and told me she was called and was told to be to the hospital Sunday night at 6:30, as they are going to admit her, giver her something to soften/thin her uterus, then if she has not delivered by Monday, they will giver her a spinal, and induce her. So I will leave here at noon Sunday, and as soon as I see Dylan, and can get to a computer, I promise you will have pictures! 4 days or less I hope!

Lyndonville, NY

Ooooo Linda, good news! Now that there is a plan, he will come on his own! lol

Also Linda, he went upstairs to bed last night....and is already dressed and downstairs this morning by 8:00. Had to fight him to take that dang pill!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Fantastic news, you (we) have all been waiting so long for his birth..now that there is a plan watch him come tonight!!! lol

OMG Debbie, think you will have your hands full, isn't Paul suppose to be resting

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL! Wouldn't doubt it if he does come tonight!

Debbie, don't let him over do it, it will take twice as long for those pills to kik in, once he does start hurting. What kind of surgery did he have? A scope, torn miniscus?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning everyone.
FINALLY - A PLAN again!!!!!
As things were left before, I was feeling pretty good about the decisions I had made regarding not having surgery. After all, a 10% risk is small. Shortly after talking with my primary, she called me back and said that she had spoken with a gastro specialist and that the info she had given me was not correct. What we thought was only a 10% chance of the gall bladder turning to cancer is really 50%. So I started over again. The problem being I was not a candidate for surgery at my local hosp. So she made an appointment for me with a pulmonary specialist. I had that appointment yesterday.
I left his office with a new plan of attack. I’ll have an echocardiogram to see what shape my heart is in and then he wants me to do 2 months of pulmonary rehab where I’m told you are hooked up to a heart monitor and a breathing machine and you exercise. This is to try to increase my lung capacity. At the end of two months I will have surgery at one of the major hospitals here in NH. I meet with the surgeon for an initial exam in a couple of weeks.
I’m feeling good in that I have a plan of attack again. These last three months have not been good ones. This not knowing what was going on and what I could or could not do about it has been driving me crazy. I know I haven’t posted often but I’m hoping with this new plan I will feel more upbeat. I’m so grateful to you all for your kind thoughts and prayers. That has meant so much to me. Thank you all for sticking with me. I’d be lost without you. I'll post again later.....
Love, Barb

Victoria Harbour, ON

Barb, THANKS YOU, THANK YOU for the update!!! We've been terribly concerned over what has been going on in your neck of the woods and not knowing what was happening. I'm glad that there were answers for you and ultimately a plan of attack..that alone would make you feel better....the not knowing is overwhelming! I'm taking a deep breath, 1/2 sigh of relief, will keep the other for after the operation..

With weather improving daily, a bit of sitting in the sunshine will also help..just don't try to overdo, easy to say but then I knowyour Norm, he'll not let you..

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Thanks Betty. I have orders now not to do much except for what I'm taught at rehab. SOooooooo. And you are right - God bless Norm....

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

3 yaaaaaaaaays today:
1. knowing what's happening with Heather & Dylan - there'll be a new baby "in the fold" soon!!~
2. Barb has a "new plan of attack" and she has a wonderful Dr. "in her corner.
3. Thank God for Norm!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Barb, I know waiting is the hardest part, but at least you have answers now! Listen to the Dr. and Norm, and don't over do it. Prayers still being sent your way!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Thanks LK and Susan. I'm sure going to try. He did say I could still sew!!!!!!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good morning.

Mary, Galvez is on the east side of Airline, Dutchtown is on the left side near I-10...You are in South BR, right?

Lots of good news today...big grins and hugs for you all.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yaaaaaaaaaay Barb - so glad you can still sew!! Actually, that's probably the best thing for you - sit quietly and rip out stitches LOL LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

LOL Barb, how did I know you would have asked that questions?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Me thinks you know me too well!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Know you and know me...no way I could just sit and do nothing!!! Lots of low key things to do.. did you ever finish your puzzle?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I did!!! I did take a picture too. Now to find the camera and download it!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I got a kick out of the fabric you sent Barb to do something for Ann .. imagine, bingo cards lol

was thinking of buying some co-ordinate fabric and make an apron

Ann is in bed, she's been sick since before Christmas, my thoughts is she has been overdoing just to keep busy so she doesn't have to think..her body is now fighting back..I'm seeing same thing with Darlene..

Think I mentioned, Darlene is thinking of renting a place in southof Florida for next January/February..I will drive her down, leave vehicle, fly back then at the end do the reverse..will spend a week each time sunning in the sun..her plans also change depending on the day..

Barb some glue finished puzzle and frame, is that your intent?
