Omg LindaKay, that is still one whole week away..not the news you were all hoping for I'm sure. They'll be glad to get this behind them!
Best Susie takes it easy now she is home so no relapse.
Susan, that is one thing they won't have to worry about is me cooking..I'll be looking for meals on wheels..looking for that now..lol
Stopped at Foodland for a few thing, sad when you buy more to feed the animals than for yourself..but I was excited about the bagged omelet mix..frozen green /red peppers, onions, celery etc thinly chopped for $3.00.. I can see using it in spaghetti sauce, fried potatoes etc. can't wait to use it..maybe I'll make an omelet in the morning just to try it..
Debbie, what did the doctor say about your eyes?
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?? visit with friends..
ah - meals on wheels - when your family comes to dinner, and takes away leftovers............ in their car LOL
LOL Susan !
((HUGS)) Shirley... I'm very sorry for your loss. Lost my mother in 2004... she was 64. Having these Sisters on here has helped. But a Good Mom is a very difficult loss....
Betty - I wonder if you go through those kind of stores thinking "I could make this... I could make that". Your creations are much prettier than the ones I see in stores.
DS is home. He is still acting tough. I had DH remove his door, it's in the storage room. (Snicker snicker). One day soon he will need to ask permission or ask for money and then I'll say "no" and I suppose we will talk about it. For now I'm glad he is home.
(HUGS)
Mary
Mary! We did the door thing several times....and it works! You want privacy, you earn it....and you slam that door again, and it will come right back off! You did the right thing.
Had to chuckle, "The child" called today...needed a favor and.....gas money. Ended up meeting her for dinner tonight, and it was a nice get together. She looks totally worn out, don't think she is sleeping. BUT big sister Jeanna has definatley taken her under her wing. I still think this is going well.....as you said, time!
Betty, I have an infection in the "glands" in my eye lids. Your eyes secret "tears" and this other "lubricant" Well, mine are blocked and IF they get in there...they can't drain. This fluid is all over the covering of my eye, and getting trapped under my contacts...which is why I can't see. SO, I have antibiotic drops (at $50 for a tiny little bottle copay) and warm compresses. I go back the 22nd for a recheck.
LindaKay, wasn't Dylans due date about March 15? They are really fighting against inducing these days and C-secs and trying to let nature take its course. I know it is so so hard to wait...but it really is the best thing for Mom & baby. Anxious grandmas (and aunts) or not! lol
Debbie
HUGS DEBBIE ! Thank you for the encouragement... It really REALLY Goes a long way.. .I promise... hearing that from you works wonders for me...
Growing Pains... hope Jeanna doesn't bite off more than she can chew... I suppose she is fully aware of the situation.... Sometimes an older sibling can say the same things we say but they LISTEN... Why I tried to get in touch with DS 1/2 brother throughout this... he is 25... still trying to find his way as well...
Eye drops are SO expensive... I remember pink eye drops being $20 for a tiny bottle.
Deb - it is next week for Paul's surgery ?
I missed work today.. too stressed...but I sure did get a LOT done...
Mary, it is this Wednesday. I will find out tomorrow what time he has to be there Wednesday morning.
I have to find that "letter" we had at work....when I worked at social services, and send it to you. It spoke volumes, and I posted it on the refridgerator. We would have kids come in who "left home" and couldn't handle their living conditions. There parents were mean...and cruel and...made them do chores. YOU name it! Let me go look for that quick. BRB.
Yes Deb.. would love to see that... Loved Betty's advice above too ! Very good... LOL Duct tape and WD40 !
That's universal !
Glad to hear your son is back home Mary. Good thing for you to remove that door!
Mary, I can't find it! it must be on my old computer! It is a letter to the child stating "The law requires me to put clothing on your back, until you are 18...in some states 21...years of age. It does not say they must be Abacrombie & FItch, Gap, or Macys. It could be from Walmart . Your $200 shoes you are wearing, I gave you as a gift....they could be 2nd hand from Good Will, the laws don't care where they come from, just that you have shoes. The same for the TV in your bedroom, your IPod, your cellphone.....the law doesn't require you to have any of that. If you can't follow the rules in this house, and the rules of your parents/caregiver, you are free to use that front door.... Matter of fact....if you want it...get a job.
It is more indepth than that....I will search for it more later.
OH! That is PERFECT Deb ! Maybe I'll google and look for it...
Thank you LK ! So glad he is home with attitude... the attitude WILL change LOL...
How is Heather ?
Heather says she is all swollen, and ready to have that baby! Guess I will be sitting on pins and needles waiting for that phone call, or next Monday to get here!
pins, pins, pins, needles, needles, needles........ LK - I'm waiting with you!
Say, you could use those needles and pins to do quilting while you wait............. lol
Debbie - so many "kids" push their parents, thinking they are "owed" stuff, but bless you for listing that letter - reminds some that they are NOT owed a thing, other than by law LOL
I have been making quilt blocks for a swap on facebook, but that is about it. This is what were making.
http://www.quilterscache.com/B/BuckeyeBeautyBlock.html
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!
Morning, ooops almost afternoon..
LindaKay love that pattern, look simple enough to sew..might have to try a few blocks...not fond of quilter cache patterns..an effort to make for sure..something to do with their SCANT 1/4 sewing!!!
Debbie/Mary..hugs coming your way big time..nothing can age you like teens..lol
Debbie, are the eye drops helping?
Sharon sent me this link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7V4-hxqCt3g&feature=autoshare
Brother Bernie has pneumonia, sicker than a dog..
LK- you're involved in a quilt block swap on FB? kewl! For a second I thought that was the RWB swap we're both in lol But there's yellow and green in it, so it couldn't be lol
I'm sending your RW block today.
Sharon has got to be on cloud 9!
Sorry to hear about Bernie not feling well!
my service provider for TV, Phone, and Internet crashed for about an hour......... good thing it's up now, but the tech said "there's something terribly wrong with the area!" She called a tech for tomorrow to see what's wrong..........but there's one already scheduled so someone else knows there's something wrong........ siiiiiiii
Poor Bernie! Hope he's better soon.......
Too soon to tell from eye drops, only had two doses. They are itching like crazy though.
Been on the run since 7:00 this morning. Izzy had a grooming appointment at 8:00 so we were on the road. New groomer, and she really liked her! Izzy even gave her a kiss good bye....came home sporting a pretty ribbon.
Pictures of the stairs below also.
Waiting to hear what time DHs surgery is tomorrow. I hope early!
Betty, so so happy for Sharon. And poor Bernie, didn't he have pneumonia last year also?
The day is beautiful outside. It is almost 65, the sun is shining and the birds sound great. I sat outside....had to come in for sunglasses as light hurt my eyes, but that wasn't even strong enough. Guess they are sensative from the infection.
Debbie
Izzy looks adorable with pretty ribbons and all!
Take care of your eyes, Debbie - nothing to play with...........
Geeze - I hope your DH's surgery is early too.....
Good looking steps!
Oh Debbie, look at Izzy, bow and all..hope it's not too muddy in your nect of the woods or the grooming efforts will be wasted..lol
Did a wonderful job on the steps, I'd so love to have an a victorian/country type home like yours..all decking..ahh know where to come camping now. Bet you feel secure going up and down..you'll not have to worry about Paul either.. on one area of the decking could you not have made a ramp for easier access??
Getting overcast here but still nice..must be hundred of kids on the street/in stores..what a wonderful March break for the all...was just listening to the news, they found a 4 years old, in bottom jammies only on the street downtown Toronto, police looking for parents, now tell me, if it was early morning they found him how come parents haven't reported his opening the door and going for a walk..they should have missed him long before now!!! will be interesting to see the outcome.
Susan, nothing worse than service being up and down, not good for the computers I'm sure.
Had some errands to run for Paul, pick up fish/chips (only kind I enjoy is halibut) and ran into the new Garden store across the street..ended up purchasing the metal piece I wanted for the heron, it's semi rusted already, I'll just stick it outside so that by the time I'd ready to add the heron it will be just as I like it, solid mass of rust. Was lucky, barely fit in the car...it would have been ' Greg, mom needs a favor' but not..
Which reminds me, must call Greg to see if he is coming over for supper..I'll pick something up, better than my cooking lol
As for Bernie, the minute he catches a cold it's pneumonia..Mike/Sharon and Bernie all have lung problems, I'm the only one in the family that doesn't.
Darlene call to tell me Ann cannot come for bingo tonight..she has virus larengitis (?)
Doctor told her to bed and rest. I'll not play bingo, will try and finish Julie's stained glass piece
Debbie, is the rod iron new as well? I'm trying to picture the entire house..do you have picture window facing another direction or are all the windows the same? does the deck go right around the house or only the front..so many questions, want to know EXACTLY so when I'm visiting I'll know how to find you...lol not sure why I thought you were in an area that was secluded and not many houses around you ... here I see you are in a subdivision of sorts
Betty, the porch is just across the front of the house only. On the side of the house is a window seat...will take pictures of it all for you when I go out again. No, not a sub division. Just a line of houses coming into the town limits.....then cows on each other end. lol Our town limits is not even 3/4 a mile long I don't think.
viral laryngitis?
The computer didn't "go down", just the Internet. All it meant was that the post I sent didn't go through......... siiiiiigh
It's 10c now, and only 1pm! Will get warmer by 4pm.
Debbie - it looks lovely. I agree with Betty - would Love to visit you....... your home looks perfectly wonderful!!!
I know from years/years of being DG friends the house is always open..Debbie standing with open arms..one of these days...lol of course would never JUST drop in..but I'm hoping to take the kids to the amusement park down the street when it opens so we might be able to do coffee while they ride...
Betty, if you have problems sewing the scant seam, cut the blocks a bit bigger, then you can square up the block and trim it, if you need to.
Just got the call from surgical center, have to be there at Noon so DH is probably on the roster for 1:00ish. That means....2:00 because they will be running late that time of day. Going to be a long one!
Having nap issues....I need one! Have to take contacts out for a bit, so can't read above...will be back later.
My goodness I've been swamped!
((((((((((((((SHIRLEY))))))))))))))) So sorry for the loss of your mom. Lots of hugs, thoughts, and prayers.
Debbie your porch is so cute! Were those custom built houses when they were new or was that someone's small tract to build some houses on do you think? It's going to be a long day for you tomorrow, hang in there girl. So glad Jenna has taken her little sis under her wing. Shane has some growing up to do that is natural and can't do it at home, however since everyone has a different personality every kid handles that differently. I have a feeling he'll be alright, and your company will be fine, be glad he wants to bring them over, it would be a problem if he wanted to keep his friends hid from you.
I don't remember what else I read LOL!!!
Debbie porch steps turned out great and look good and sturdy. Love your porch. Wish I had one.
Temps high 70 and sunny.
Outdoor soccer starts tonight and we have same coach as indoor (this is a good thing) So we have 2 weeks of outdoor and indoor going on for little man. Oh and homework. The things we do for our kids. Outdoor practice is 2 hours till it starts getting dark early.
Cleaned house and baked a pineapple upside down cake. YUM
LK that is a great block. Think I will use that to get rid of my scrap fabrics.
To all have a great evening.
Love those steps Debbie! Great job! Sending prayers to hubby for a good surgery, and a speedy recovery!
Love those blooms Laura!
Thought I would move us over.....
