Branson is a mess....but last night town of Harrisburgh IL was hit big time. So far 12 have died.

Got home to find birthday posters and balloons all over the house, Cathy had decorated, said a day early but I would be home tommorow so she wouldn't be able to surprise me if she did it tomorrow...nice to have friends.

I so want to be energetic, I really could finish my stained glass piece tonight if i got at it, but couch feels so good!

Debbie, following the Ron patch/Route66' I think it was 3 1/2 hours from Bev and almost 6 from Judy but that doesn't mean bad weather not in their neck of the woods..

Harrisburg is just a bit northeast of Cape Girardeau and Judy is up above Chicago near Elgin. The storms seemed to run across Missouri/Illinois right at the Oklahoma/Arkansas lines.

yes - DS will turn 20 on March 10th. He was due on Mardi Gras that year (3/3) but .....well.... a long story... will wait for a future gathering....

Diannes birthday is Dec. 28th....as is her Anniversary I believe.

My DS will be 19 on March 24

We are getting weather alerts all over the place, on phone/Tv, computer....high winds tomorrow up to 60mph.

March 10 was my sweet daddy's birthday.He was born in 1906 and died in 1996.

Still snowing here - the plow guy has been in twice and will also be here in the morning so those who need to get out to go to work can .We are expecting more sleet over night tonight. Need to get out in the morning to go to the village to get Warren's Rxs.Not too happy about that .

Heavy weather out there so not sure what the day will bring..think they are calling for snow..hoping weekend weather will be nice, Greg has a long way to drive home..he has enjoyed his trip to Newfoundland despite all the problems he has had, a few sunny days to get him back safely is what I am hoping for. March came I. Like a lion, does that mean it will go out like a lamb?

Sorry to hear Dianne that you've been under the weather, takes everything outmof you doesn't it.. Be careful driving into town..too bad there was no delivery for items you need. How has Warren been feeling? Bet it makes you nervous that he to could cath the flu...prayers and soft hugs coming your way.

Betty, remind Jim to wish his cousin a happy St. David's Day. It was yesterday - Mar 1 but we Welsh will celebrate anytime. When I am in the village I will buy a small bouquet of daffodils at the Foodland as that is what Welsh wear to help celebrate. Also will be looking for leeks - should have had something with leeks yesterday but wasn't going out in that storm. no siree.

Just have to go into the village Betty, not Kingston. I chuckled about the idea of delivery. Heavens, the oil truck, UPS and even emergency vehicles can refuse to come down if they think the lane is in bad shape. I just drive out to meet them at Desert Lake Rd. Thea will tell you that it is a long lane but a pretty drive.

LK, funny you should mention the cattle prod to Crissy as I just offered mine to someone else on another forum.lol Yes I have one in my possession, never, ever used it but do have one.

So Debbie, did you stew all night about 'the child'? Sure hope she gets her problems settled quickly.

Waiting for UPS. Among some books we also ordered The Help - I loved the book enough that I would read it again, plus DH wanted The Blue Max. Betty, I think you and I are the only 2 old enough to remember that movie. Plus Erica Spindler has a new book out in paperback. Wooo Hoooo.

Now speaking of books - I need to hang my head in shame. I had 'misplaced' Mary's book Mind's Eye. I looked EVERYWHERE. No book, but I finally found it, in a drawer that I would never put it - thinking maybe the cleaning lady put it in there so now I can mail it off to someone. Who wants to read it next? Like all of Mary's Fleishman books this is a good read.

Need to go convince Santa Warren that he needs to eat something. On Mon. when he was weighed at the CC he was down another 6 lb in less than 10 days. Good thing he likes the taste of the Chocolate Boost especially when I mix it up with ice cream. Smoothies with yogurt did not go over well but he loves the old fashioned milkshakes I make him. Nothing and I mean nothing appeals to him. If something does I make it and after 2 bites he wants no more. He says everything tastes 'off' to him. Yup, even icecream some days.

I've only read Whirlygig and I loved that one...I so enjoyed The Help as well. Don't want to see the movie as I don't want to spoil what I read! I know I'm old enough to have seen The Blue Max but I don't remember it. I'll need to Goggle it after....

Well, we finally got some winter here yesterday. We ended up with about 12-14 inches of the white stuff. This is school vacation week here so I imagine my daughter and her family are in snowmobile heaven!! Norm threw out extra feed this morning for the birds and we so enjoy watching them as we eat breakfast. We had about 10 orioles here too today. I have a bush in the yard (don't ask me what it is-I don't know) that produces red berries and has thorns. They stripped the bush of the berries in no time!!! The woodpeckers have just about finished one suet block so we'll need to put out another. They are all so much fun to watch.

I've been steadily working away on this list of sewing projects. When I cleaned out the cupboards, I had no idea I had so many all set aside in their own bag. Norm helped me cut batting this morning so I can finish up a few more. I buy the batting by the roll and it is a bit unwieldly. He helps me cut off a bit each time I need it.
I hope this finds you all well and healthy. We must get rid of this darn bug that's going around. It laid me up for over a week and I hope it goes easy on you Betty. Saying prayers for all in need and holding you all close in my heart.

oh my......... Dianne - you just reminded me that I need to send a book on, of Fleishman's............. it's "Seek", and good one also.

Well, I finally finished the Church library books - recorded, labelled, and card-indexed them.......... most are at the Church now, and I'll be working with a "work crew" Saturday at 1pm to get the shelves ready, set the books in order, and label the shelves.......... It was a huge job, but glad it's done. I think I'll put the Card Index file on a stick, and take the new laptop to the Church with me on Saturday so I can make any changes to the system that I need to.
I should get another stick so I can leave it with the Church for future, in case they need it. I'm the librarian, but ya never know when I may not be able to do it.

Cathy dropped in with Hyacinth plant, smells wonderful and a better homes and garden magazine, Darlene called, felt bad she could not come over today, having a terrible day, 2 months since Mike's death..understandable, we'll celebrate another day. Mom/Jim gave me $50 to buy myself a craft, as though I need a craft. Lol...grandkids called..Suzanne sent me an email, she has strep throat and cannot talk, says we will do lunch next week and a zillion other calls so it's been a great day

Oh, big news Alissa got another job, working at a Nursing home...She starts on Monday.

Melanie called, Noah has a hockey game 2 hours drive from here, she tried to see if another parent could bring him so she and Kyle could take me out for supper but no room...told her the call was enough, by 7:30 I'll likely be sleeping, now that I'm a year older bedtime gets earlier.

Quite a day, am tired, guess its the extra year I've just added on that has done it!

Had a good laugh with Ann, we connected the wii, quite a chore in itself, did some dancing to Michael Jackson..now that was a sight.

Had my insurance agent drop in to not o ky review car/house nsurance but sell me life insurance, poor Ann, she waited in the basement for an hour while I got everything signed, felt bad so gave her the job of buffing wax of my stained glass piece.

Then Ann and I ordered chicken souvlaki from next door..lots to eat and enough for tomorrow. Ann brought me a lovely book written by Breakfast Television's. Franky Flowers..150 fresh ideas for container gardening..anxious to look at it..

Ann was having a difficult time as well, bad news re a SIL and a sister/cancer..

Left my typing to gab with Darlene, hour later and off the phone...overwhelming to hear the hurt in their voices and not being able to take their pain away.

Warnings out, high winds..possibly 60-100 moh winds...just since I was on telephone the winds have picked up, howling like crazy..keep safe my friends

Mary - it is Wonderful to finish this library project - now.... to get back to my quilting - my R/W (RWB) swap blocks lol
I have 2 of them done, and need to do 7 more!!
Then it's time to get the 2 lap quilts done for my friend and his wife.............finally!! I promised it last August.
Tomorrow I have a "work crew" coming to the Church to help clean the bookcases and then to sort the card indexes and put the books in the shelves!! Should be finished in 1 to 2 hours......... if everyone comes that says they will......
