Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..

I have a midsouth friend who is looking for a specific type of icing. It's the kind that you cook and pour on a cake, when it hardens it will crack when you cut the cake with a knife but it's not hard at all when you eat it. She said it doesn't taste like caramel or anything like that. Does anyone know what it is??

Hi - I'm back and taking baby steps. I have the address for small claims, will go get the forms and file them wednesday when my money comes in. Meanwhile, I added running my battery down to nothing this morning to my list of "what next's?". friend steve came over and gave my battery a jump and me a hug.

My ambulance won't have all the flashing lights but the siren still works!!

It is hard to lose the friend. Especially after twenty-five years. He's one of those people who is never wrong about anything. something I recently relized is true of too many of my friends, or x-friends. funny thing, neither of my parents, nor any of my three sisters was ever wrong about anything either. they paid the price. Lots of suicides and suicide attempts.

I've been doing the baby steps thing and doing lots of reading. found a copy of "into a desert place" at goodwill and reread it. It's an excellent book and it's about the baja where I live. found three more books this morning.

It rained a little early this morning - the latest threat to my well-being as my van leaks like a sieve. I will survive.

Katie, sending big hugs, hoping your money does come through and you can finally breathe and get on with life. Trying to get this into my noggin, as you presently living in the van that is leaking?
Also, know you were waiting for surgery date, must you stay until you've recouperated or just waiting to hear on the date then heading home if it's not within a few days/weeks??? So glad you have someone there that is helping you through these hardships..baby steps, think we all want to run before we walk!!! Glad you are able to post so we don't fret

Crissy, can understand why your blood pressure is high..35 lbs. of extra weight would be enough to get me going! Paul gives us 3 weeks, can use it for sick days/vacation days etc. (of course we get almost 2 weeks off at Christmas which is not included in these days) and I think what happens is everyone comes in sick just so they can keep their holiday days and not use them as sick days so understand completely.

Bev, oh I am just so so sorry about the loss of the little one, so very sad. It is good that her sister Emma is gaining weight and her daddy & mommy can hold her. Big hugs! What about Scotty?

I have had a day from he&&.....

But the news from the vet is his blood work was all normal. Urine was concentrated but within normal. No pancratitus. BUT nothing explains why his abdominal lymph nodes are enlarged. SO for now, we are going to try a diet modification and some other stress free changes hopefully.

I am just so upset. The child has gone above and beyond. Don't think i have cried like this since my DM passed...and even then, dont' think I did. So so fed up.

Had some disturbing news, just before we left the office Suzanne got a text from her daughter saying she wouldn't be home until late as her SIL was taking xxxxx to the hospital and so she would help out by picking up her niece from school! suzanne texted back saying she hoped it was nothing serious?? She received a text to say it was very serious... She told Suzanne xxxx left a suicide note and the only way she could get help for him was going to the hospital..automatically i thought it was her bil.. just found out it was not her BIL but her 8 year old nephew...omg, surely young children don't have those thought?? To write a suicide note, what could be so bad in an 8 year olds life to cause him to write such a note?? Not sure od details ie if he tried something or just writing about it..will know more tomorrow..think it wouldn't hurt to say a few prayers

Betty, 8 year olds DO have those thoughts....and it can be bad. So many bullys at school, someone could be "touching" or worse inappropriately. Look what I went through from the age of 6 to 17. You just don't know what someone is dealing with to put them "over the edge"like that....and youngsters do NOT have coping skills. The good thing is...he is getting help. It is when someone says " yeah right...he wouldn't do anything..just talk" that it gets very bad.

I will let you know when we get it all sorted out. One of those "who do you believe" issues, and right now both parties are totally guilty talking. BUT someone is forgetting the lies she said and doing a lot of back tracking....and stumbling.

It is bad enough DH is up with me and waiting for her to get home in 10 minutes.

Morning, bitter cold out there, just a skim of snow..
Breakfast Television calling for freezing rain tomorrow but I'm not sure it's my area..will have to transfer telephones.

Have to pick Suzanne at car dealership, no heat in her car, just paid $500 to have it repaired before Christmas, here is hoping it's covered..must leave 1/2 hr early so off I go, slow moving this morning!

Andy called just a bit ago, Heather has to go in Thursday for an ultra sound, if the baby is close to or over 9 pounds, they will induce her, and make her deliver the baby. Last week, she was told he was already at 8.5 pounds, so looks like that day is getting closer......

DH and I didn't get to bed til after Midnight, and surprisingly I passed right out. What a day, and today won't be much better.

The Child is supposed to go talk to the landlord and see if they will release her from apartment...she has signed no lease yet, only made the "hold" deposit. We should know by 1:00 what is going to happen. She has gotten herself into a mess and invovled with people who are NOT balanced in the head what so ever. The "mom" got ahold of our home number and called me several times yesterday...then called DD at work (a big no no) and told her I was calling their house and saying things. SO MUCH DRAMA and the things this woman said just blew my mind. It gets much deeper...but it is really close to getting the pollice invovled if it keeps up like this. I just don't need it.

The Child is at college, then going over to "that house" and pick up some of her items. She has been told if she EVER goes over there again, or the BF ever goes to her apartment....not only will she not be allowed back in this house....but her car is GONE. We will sell it so DD & DSIL do not have to worry about that on their heads...and DD can sit and think about how to get out of the hole she has put all of US in.

Have my coffee, it is a new day.....and I wont' be answering the phone unless I know who is calling!

Oh Debbie, not so good being put into that position..omg let's hope over the next week you get all resolved..so, Child still with you, not moving!!! just when you got excited about not having her drama, however, maybe less drama having her living with you...hugs coming your way!!! No snow today, calling for mix of snow/rain/wind/freezing rain for tomorrow, you name it and it's likely to happen although still not sure in my region..sooner we get winter done and over with the better..I'm in spring mode..have a 1/2 dozen gardening books here to look at.. want to be playing in my gardens..know some of you are doing so already and I'm sooo envious!


As for Gamien (now I know his name) is 10 and not 8, they are waiting for a call to have him assessed. What happened is his mom was cleaning his room yesterday and found the note and got very concerned..because Gamien was with mom when Danielle was there they couldn't speak freely so not much info available as to was it a recent letter, was it when mom and dad separated last year??? anyway, prayers will not go amiss!

Girls are at the house painting today, might do Darlene good to spend the day with them, I'm hoping so..felt bad, talk to her everyday and didn't yesterday seeing I fell asleep as soon as I got home.

Tonight I have the boys for supper then Ann coming over for t.v. bingo..maybe I'll ask the boys if they want to play?

Keeping Gamien and his family in my prayers. I am glad that things are not being disregarded by Gamien's family .I had a 13 year old who was in my Gr 8 class attempt suicide. All because she was been teased about being too fat. MY heart just ached for her then and I often wonder how she is doing today.

Judy, when doing all your sewing make yourself some kind of wallet that fits on a belt so you don't misplace it..so glad though there is a library close enough that you can access and keep in touch, just like when I was in Clearwater..missed you all too much to be away a few weeks! At least you are being very productive, that's good news right?

It did rain a lot last night. somehow I managed to stay warm and dry but a lot of my stuff will need to be in dryers at the laundromat tomorrow.

crissy, I've figured it out - the doctor's scales gave you the thirty-five pounds that I have lost.

and I can relate, painfully, to the suicidal eight-yr-old. I remember wanting to die when I was in kindergarden, and even before. and I had a five-yr-old on my caseload who tried to cut her wrists. fortuneately she used a butter knife but her mental anguish was real and very sad.

Yesterday I got the small claims forms and filled them out. will file tomorrow. Have a couple of days shopping to do then head home. Small claims hearing will probably be in april.

the knee surgery will probably be in May. They will probably let me know at least a month ahead of time. It will be about three days in the hospital, then I need to stay in the area at least a month for recuperation. I can sat at or near steve's house so I have back-up. I have to fudge a bit on living arrangements as I'm not supposed to be living outside the Kaiser service area.

I knew that having to arrange to schedule the surgery and to sue my former friend were going to make this a difficult trip. I am amazed at how I've been able to roll with the many punches. thinking of all of you and some of the truly serious problems that many of you are dealing with has helped me take my relatively minor problems in stride.

I have a huge repair bill for the van - probably more than it's worth but when I get the ambulance I can give the van to tony knowing it's in fairly good running contition (it leaks like a sieve when it rains but he'll be using it for ranch work). In turn, if I have to be here for two months with the knee surgery, tony will take care of my place and pets. He once stayed with my pets during and after a hurricane when I got stuck on the road. Each of us sees the other as an angel.

Must go to the library and pick up tax forms. an errand that doesn't require money.

Today I got 2 little pressies:

1. A friend of ours, who owns a computer business, said he'd let me have a laptop for $75 (normally $200 is cheap)! This was after I asked him if I could borrow it for a church presentation I have to do on March 17th (I am doing that month's Travelogue to raise $$ for our church). He's dropping it off tomorrow afternoon so I can familiarize myself with it.

2. Bob & I had to go and re-register our vehicles before our birthdays, and today was the last day. We thought we Both had to also get our driver's licences renewed, but only Bob had to renew - mine isn't to be renewed until 2015! So, didn't have That cost to worry about, only 3 charges not 4!! Yaaaaaaaaaay - when we have Less to spend, it's a Good Thing!

Besides freezing Linda, DH and I met up in Rochester and did some grocery shopping at Sams.....and went to dinner at Red Lobster.

Lots of talking about and with "the child". HOpefully all is settled. She IS moving into the apartment tomorrow....going to give it a chance. BUT there are rules she MUST follow or there will be repurcussions. Way too much drama, and lots of anger. BUT think we have a handle on it (Praying we do).

Tomorrow morning up early and loading the car and van!

LindaKay not even in the ball field last night, both Ann and I need 6 numbers when jackpot was won and not much different on all other games.

Had Kyle and Noah for supper last night, enjoyed listening to Kyle tell me about his co op until June at snowmobile shop..great experience for him seeing as he lives and breathes snowmobiles/4 wheelers like his dad. Took out spaghetti for our dinner tonight, easy and they love it!

We have a slight drizzle going on and still rather dark out. Supposed to be a "mixed bag" of weather today.

The childs new apartment is about 30 minutes away. She is actually a few miles out past Jeanna. My concern is with gas being
$4.00 a gal....this also is double the drive to her work for her. SO, an eye opener, and DH even said...this will probably only be a few months, but let her see what it is really like in the real world. Yes, that whole double edge as they say.

Wishing you all a good day, need to hop in the shower and get moving, I came down to let the dog out and get all the animals fed and coffee brewing.

Heather just called she is in the hospital and dilated to 2 cm. She had a bad asthma attack yesterday, and passed out and hit her head when she fell, so when she came to, she called her Dad, he went and picked her up, and rushed her to the ER. Well, she started contractions while she was there, so they took her to labor and delivery. She is not having contractions now, but she is still dilated, so she is waiting for the Dr. to tell her whether they will induce her today or not! She should know more in about an hour.
When I find out what is going on, I will post here with a quick, I am off, see you later. I will take my ipad with me, and as soon as I get internet connection over there, I will let you all know when Dylan arrives.

My bags are packed... ^_^

Ohhh not good for Heather, she's had quite the time of it but just wait until she sees that little one, will be so worth it! Don't you be rushing, take your time, baby needs a grandmother..wouldn't want anything to happen to you driving. Bags packed, for a few days or a month? You so won't want tocome home.

Debbie, 1/2 hr. is not bad and with her sister living nearby that is a plus. She can watch over her for you. Does she have to sign a lease? You be careful driving.

Paul just called and asked if I was watching the weather, said maybe we should go home, however Suzanne has 4 signings so maybe I should not leave her alone..feel guilty
