We came from here..
For those feeling blue, know even snowmen have a 'melt down' kind of day...lol
Brought my camera over to Cathy's..the other day she built a snowman in back yard and today this is what awaited her

Lol, and we think we have meltdowns..
Any news Debbie from vets office?
Drats just took a heck of a fall..decided to work on the quilt, was sewing, had most of it dropped on my knees/table, went to get up, didn't realize Sailor was under the quilt, tried not the hurt her and fell backwards hitting my heat on stained glass metal workbench...saw stars for sure..just goes to show you, I really should have stayed doing nothing!
Oh Betty, let someone know you fell...just in case. Especially since seeing stars. Take something to ward off a migraine!
Won't hear from vet til Monday most likely, closed from Noon Saturday til Monday morning. Can be sure I will be calling first thing.
Took Shannon shopping for some things to help at apartment. I did pretty good and hopefully will give her a start. Towels, small coffee pot, trash can, shower curtain & rings, and a pan set. SO between that and whats in attic....she has a good start. She had to work 4 to 8:00 today...so off and running soon as we got home.
Betty, Never mind bubble wrapping you....just bubble wrapping the entire house!!
lol Bubble wrap the house, eh? Kewl Idea!!
Betty - did you feel dizzy? Metal workbench sounds painful............
Please send prayers for a friend in church (Helen) - she's in her 80's and went into ICU yesterday. Apparently her tubes to her colon are blocked (for the 3rd time since June) and it's said there's nothing more they can do for her. She got moved to a room late last night. They can't put a stint in, because the tube is so blocked. Her DD and DSIL were in church today and her DD kept breaking out into tears. Her DH is a member of our choir and he wasn't at church today - obviously by her side. She's such a sweetheart, and has gone through so much in the past years.........
Ahhh Susan, sending prayers for sure. Poor man, he must be so worried....is hubby home yet..did his team win? west is being hit with terrible weather, guess you are right in the middle of it...
Debbie, what size of bed does she have..I have a nice bought quilt/shams that was on my double bed, few afghans, other odds ends that I would love to give her..take inventory and let me know...some kids though would prefer nothing 2nd hand. Does she have tv? lordy I could fill my car with goodies..
ok now, just when I fell..part my fault, should realize Sailor always lays at my feet but with the king size quilt draped over her didn't see her and o f course always on the run.
Long wait Debbie to hear news..what are the symptoms?
Yes, DH is home, and no he didn't win. He said he was 150 pts from winning. Only 4 top men were chosen and there were several divisions playing today. Those chosen were over 1000 points for 5 games, and Bob got 897 pts.
Yes, the west is getting hit with snow, but it's still winter, so I'm not surprised. It's only minus 13 celcius so that's not really bad.
I'm cataloguing some more books today, for the church, so I'm "here, but not here" :-)
Susan, that project must be overwhelming, you've been at it forever!
Ohh breaking news, trail in Burlington derailed..air ambulances in and out!! More than 60 were trapped, almost everyone out..so far 3 have died..may have fuel leak and means evacuate...

Betty - I only do it when I can, and that's not every day. Think of all the times I Don't mention it - sometimes I'm at the church, and therefore not posting, but usually it means I have Another Life (quilting, baking, reading, watching TV....) lol
Will pray that all those derailed are okay...............
Susan, do you ever watch Joseph Prince..think he's ministering in Calgary??
don't know of Joseph Prince.......
Melanie my DIL Just called with an update on Greg..after travelling along with winter storm for over 1,000 miles, missing the ferry they were to have taken, having the rest of the ferries cancelled due to storms, being late for rendezvous with racing team finally they were able to load truck with Greg's snowmobile...oh/oh. Big truck comes on ferry, loses control smashes into them, Greg's machine gets hit, goes through the cab of the truck..couldn't detain the ferry so now when they reach the mainland of Newfoundland it's to the police station to report accident and not sure if Greg's machine is driveable and truck needs repair...I'm almost afraid for him to at some post get not the mountains snowmobiling, either with his machine or a rental..something g is telling my kid not to go snowmobiling..kind of comedy of error except its not funny! He was sooo looking forward to this trip, feel so badly for him.
Thanks for the new room Betty. How close is that train derailment from you?
Susan, sending prayers for Helen,
Actually a bit of a way, maybe 125 miles..
Sorry to hear about Greg's bad luck! Sure hope he gets everything fixed or replaced.
He's one of those kids LindaKay that regardless what will happen it will happen to him..feel so bad for him!
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1240591/
Birdhouse swap for anyone interested...
oh Betty - feel so badly for Greg. You say if something bad is going to happen, it will happen to him. However, I seem to remember that if something Good is going to happen, he will get that "side of the coin" too! After all, he has YOU for a g'ma, right?
And he's a very loving boy :-)
Tks Susan, Greg is my eldest and most like Roger! He had several bad accidents on snowmobiles for a few years after Roger died..I was paranoid during that time in my life, always having him checking in with me..I kept saying Roger wanted him with him..add that with Greg saying he would never live as long as his dad really had me nervous..even now, these many years later I fret for him and need him checking in..terrible having such feelings!
So sorry for Greg Betty but good thing he was not hurt....
Crissy - I promise we are going to get one more freeze because I started washing, drying folding and putting up all my sheets today LOL.....
Yay - Bev - beautiful pics... love the kitties. Hope Deb your kitty is okay..... will pray for your friend Susan....
I'll pop back in a bit. Really dreading this week at work. We aren't allowed to leave the office to sell for the next 2 weeks due to a "project".....boo....
Sounds like 'The child" has a good head start on stuff.... they never realize how much $ it costs just to start up a household ....
Hugs,
Mary
Betty - I remember you watching his blog when he was rafting down the Great Lakes, etc........ he sure "pushes the envelope" doesn't he............ ah well, grown up kids need to be grown up at some point, and let go of the 'apron strings' ...........
Ah... Susan... I believe that was Jeff.... he is the rafter is he not ? LOL.... Love all of Betty's boys though... kids and DGK's... what a great job she did raising them....albeit they can be daredevils....
(did they get that from Betty? or Roger?)
Yes, that was Jeff rafting....and all Moms will always worry, whether the kids are 5, 10, 30, 50.....or older! And when those kids get old enough...they worry about their parents just as much as the parents worry about them.
And, maybe...that incident on the ferry...stopped them from meeting a worse one if they had gone on at that time. The most important thing...which you already know, no one was hurt.
Hugs!
Debbie
aw geeze - my memory....... ain't so good anymore LOL
Very easy to get them confused Susan! You still working on the cataloging of the books? That's probably a never ending effort.... Kudos to you for helping the church out with that !
Susan, my memory gets my own kids messed up...never mind someone elses family! lol
Morning all, mild out there..90 in here, no wonder I found it hot during the night, must have turned the heat up mega degrees...
I think the boys got a bit of both of us..actually Melanie said she painted her living room yesterday and said Greg will not like the colors..he is not prone to changes..yep, that is part of me!! Debbie, how right you are, grandma (who raised me) up to the age of 99 and I nearing 50 still treated me like a babe..never ends does it.. Hoping to hear more of Greg's adventures..
Jeff called last night, wanted to know what goodies I bought with my birthday $$$, said nothing, got the "oh mom, you were suppose to spend it!"
Everyone touched base last night, Melanie who is on afternoon shift asked if the boys could come for supper Tuesday and Wednesday, tonight her mom and dad will take them out..Thursday she will be home with them..she just finds it's a long week of no home cooked meals...sooo she sends them to me. Home cooked?? More like pick up lol
Then chat with Darlene, she is finding the time so long..said she is cleaning, then re cleans and cleans same area again..has a bad cold, not sleeping well..just makes me I'll thinking of what she is going through!
What do you all have planned for the week??
Know LindaKay, is counting the days..let's see 4 right..naaaahh let's say 6! How exciting to have a baby in the family again.
Sailor wants it, gab later
Morning everyone! Betty, I sure hope it is soon, this waiting is terrible!
Good morning, would you all leave that baby in there to bake! He will come out when he is good and ready, and not a minute sooner. Poor thing has had so many "practice runs" he wants to make sure he has it right! LOL Now if it was a girl....lord have mercy, not one of my girls was EVER on time. haha
Getting things together for the "move" on Wednesday. Have a call into the vet already and let them know I am not happy about this wait. Hopefully hear something soon.
Enjoy your day! Having my coffee
Debbie
Oh Debbie, somewhere inside you must have a little corner saying 'finally, peace it is in the household, hallallulia she has moved' but know how concerned you are as well..hugs coming your way! Shouldn't the vets office be open by now...waiting to hear, may it be good news and an easy fix..
LindaKay, maybe you should go and spent the week with her..wouldn't you feel better there? No problems anticipated right?
Both my boys 3 weeks early!
My oldest daughter was so late, I ended up very sick in ICU for 5 days with blood transfusions and the works. That girl has YET to be on time for anything!
2nd..>Carrie, just was an easy breeze into the world...and she has been that way every since.
3rd "the child" lots of false labor, hurry up and wait...hurry up and wait...and finally doc "gave up and induced" and well, she has been like that ever since also! lol
4th...my only boy. A little late, not much...did it all his way and just surprised everyone (supposed to be another girl) and 8 lbs....Decided he was going to take things apart on his way....broke my pelvic bone....He was born about ready to walk at 10.5 and 23 inches. He hasn't slowed down since...and still taking things apart.
Funny thing about the kids also...those born in the morning...are up early and ready to go. The two born at night, are definately night owls and hard to get up in the morning! lol
Betty that's the big issue, his job description was described as it's defined in his title, Material Coordinator, but Ethan, the boss here in CA, doesn't want to follow that and Dave's doing jobs that are meant for 3 people and there's no possible way he can keep up and greenhorn Ethan doesn't understand why. Now that Robert knows and has addressed it hopefully they will get two more people so Dave can do his specific job.
Betty glad you're ok from your fall, I had tripped over Tiga countless times.
Debbie that's funny. I was 8 days late and put my mom through 72 hours of labor, no wonder she's cranky with me! Ha!! However, I was born at 3:50pm and I am very much a morning person, by 3:50pm I'm done for the day. And I am hardly ever late to anything but my grandfather drilled that into me because my dad is always late, and I don't mean a little late, we're talking if he's supposed to be somewhere at 9am you might see him by 2pm. It was ridiculous. His girlfriend says he's not that bad anymore, thank God! My mom always says that he's going to be late to his own funeral LOL
Hi - I'm here, but need to get my day 'going'
Debbie - sounds like you had Such Different labours........ understand how different kids are, but to Break Your Pelvis? wow - What A Kid!!
Linda Kay, I think you were asking about my twin GGDs that were here too early. We lost Katlan Elizabeth a few weeks ago but Emma Mae is up to 2 pounds now so her daddy can hold her. We also lost a GD twin like that. HUGS BEV
Ahhh finally caught up with work, now it's playtime..can you imagine I brought a wooden christmas sock that I basecoated a few years ago, might play at painting this afternoon!
Got a call from guess who, yep, my mom called ever so pleasant, wanted to know if it was ok to come over with Jim Saturday morning so I can cut her rag quilt squares and Jim put them through the accu-quilt for her..loves the quilt she just made
Oh Bev, sending hugs..you and your boys have been through so much no wonder it is difficult..I remember walking in your memorial garden and realized then how special that area of the garden was for you..big/big armwraps
Bev, so sorry to hear they lost Katlan Elizabeth! So sad to lose such a tiny one! Glad to hear that Emma Mae is gaining weight!
Betty, maybe your Mom got that wake up call when her Grandson yelled at her, maybe it is her meds making her angry?
I so wanted to say something or just hang up but Jeff reminded me on Saturday that I just have one mother and she won't be around that many more years and that I should find patience..asked him if he will do same and he said absolutely!!!!! lol
Anyway, if Jim comes it will be quick as a bunny..I'll cut, he'll put through the accu-quilter and be on their way
Bev - sorry to hear they lost Katlan Elizabeth - so young.......
Really pleased Daddy is able to hold Emma Mae! He must be thrilled!!
Bev so sorry about Katlan! big big big hugs! My mom had a twin who passed away at birth, they were 3 months premature.
Betty I think your mom's having medication issues.
So I've had an agitating morning:
I had a stupid pap appointment, I'm so darn agitated it's unreal. He now schedules these for one week a month, between 10:30am to 2pm, right in the middle of everyone's work days. I got mine for 10:30am, didn't get called back until 11:25am, and this happens to be the day I start so I'm PMSing to boot. When I finally got called back they weighed me, said I weigh 198, my digital scale at home says I weigh 163 and I told her there is no way possible I weigh 198, I wouldn't be able to fit into a size 12 if that weight was accurate. She said "well you do!" and the nurse took my blood pressure and she said, "You're blood pressure is a little high!" She took it again and I couldn't stand it anymore, I said, "I have to take 5 hours of my vacation for this bs when he could schedule these in the mornings or afternoons if he chose to. I'm PMSing, it's almost noon and I haven't eaten and I'm hypo-glycemic, and you just told me I weigh 35 pounds more than what my scale says, so needless to say I'm a tad agitated so yes my blood pressure is probably just a tad high right now. I didn't get out of there until 12:10pm.
LOL Marilyn, I have exactly the opposite problem, I can't find jeans long enough!
I would tell y'all what I did yesterday but I don't want to wear anyone out lol
Genna I know exactly what icing that is, it's delicious but very very hard to do because your heat has to be perfect and your cooking time has to be perfect, it's like making fudge in a way. I'm going to try to find a link for you.
