Revolving door here, 1st Greg didn't get off as early as expected so dropped in for a hug and a bye..Cathy dropped in just as I was making breakfast coffee, she goes for her morning walk about 6:30..she was just going out the door and Darlene called, only spoke for a sec and Ann dropped in..no sooner started to gab did Bernice call from across the road all excited, telling me I had visitors..so outside in my nighty on back deck, with Ann in tow to visit..1/2 hr we stood in awe..

Stopping in to let you know I am safely in the san diego area. car and money stuff going on but the tire/car repair place I've dealt with a lot are saving me. details of the last week would probably cause you to send out an er crew so I will say only that I am safe and healthy and my van should be OK by this afternoon. I'll have alittle more money tomorrow and lots on wednesday. I have lots of food and books in the van and will hibernate for awhile. It has been very stressful. doctor confirmed diagnosis of OCD and I am putting one foot in front of the other and not looking around. called to schedule the knee surgery. It will probably be in mid-May.

Doctor gave me a cortisone shot in the knee which has helped a lot with the pain. Much help with all that's going on. My right shoulder is still sore but not bad. Mostly I have to keep the OCD stratching under control so I don't have open sore when I have the surgery done; they tend to take months to heal if I'm not vigilant.

I had a scarey experience on my way up to ca. I was not physically hurt but was scared badly. Taught me a good lesson and I will be much more careful from now on. I can't even write about it yet but know that I'm OK.

Off to hibernate and recover.

We are having wind warnings til Midnight, up to 60 mph. Both girls called asking what was I thinking letting their sister get an apartment. I just laughed and told them the real story! Both girls said weather up Amherst way was horrible Betty. Carrie got in as the wind was hitting....and Jeanna as the snow started up that way. The child gets out of work at 10:00 tonight, so hope she gets in OK.

I think Shane might be a tad homesick...he called me yesterday and today also. He and the roomates were going out to eat and then to a movie tonight. Good thing they like to walk as none of the 4 have a car...kind of makes me feel better though.

Just spoke to Noah...he and his friend are redy to go tomorrow..we will leave at 8:30 weather permitting! I will jot down the dress of the quilt/sewing shop so I can entertain myself for a few hours, maybe I can go to a show to pass. Few hours..will be a London day.

Well, as much as I'd love being up for the night shift I must go off to bed..totally exhausted!

LOL Mary I love garage and estate sales...not the season for it yet. They start around here in May when warm weather hits. We did that for the other girls big time. going to Good will and such and check them out.

HA! Yes - I suppose things are different up there in the snow...and all... Hubs & I went searching out garage and estate sales last month....
Too funny the #1 thing we wanted to buy was a ROCK out in the front yard of one... but they wouldn't sell it to us... but it was a really amazing rock... LOL

Time to get a "Care" package in the mail for Shane ! It was a bit scary when DSD1 kept saying how homesick she was and couldn't wait to come home for summer !

I may go stalk her FB page and see if I can come up with an idea.....

What about a manicure or pedicure gift card/certificate? Even a "tote bag" for the trip can be used for other things if she ends up not being able to go. Lots of fun things at Barnes & Noble besides books also. I love these quote magnets they have, and cups with them on it.

I'm not sure if she does the mani/pedi thing... in some ways she is a girly girl.. in some ways she is not....Great idea to check the book store... she is the one who got me reading Eragon. Friday nights she gets out at 10:00....so she just got home 5 minutes ago. Wind is horrible! The way she came in the back door I asked if she crashed her broom! Izzy keeps growing as things are blowing around out there. She works in the mortgage department of a big bank to help people with mortgage issues. She works on a call line doing that.

Another thing I find girls like right now are funny socks, and they never match! Lets see, nail polish, decals for the toes and maybe some sandals or flilp flops. Mine likes burning candles also. And funky little handbags or purses. The childs new wallet is neon green with a face on it. It is Grrr from a cartoon.

Wicked storm going on out there - has been since about 5 am and will continue for another 24 hrs at least. High winds and sleet right now. This rarely happens but the OPP have come on the radio warning and asking people to stay off of the roads as they are so bad.Heard lots of sirens all day - Storm howls like a coyote every time he hears one.

There's a home/flower/rv/fishing tackle show in Little Rock today so I might go to that, Dave's boss Robert is here from CA helping them work all weekend and we're all going out tonight, and I need to get in the shower to get Dave's new beauty rings put on the truck, they're plastic and the others fell apart when we got 2 new tires for it the other day, 7 years old and you know they replaced them at no charge to us???? I thought that was awesome because they certainly didn't have to. I told them in about a month when we get the back tires replaced I'm sure those rings will fall apart too, they said they would cover the cost if they do!!! I Love Tire Town in Benton, Arkansas!! LOL

Today is a relaxing day for us...staying in PJ's and working on an Easter Quilt.

I'm busy piecing quilt blocks - A Maple Leaf/Heart design I've never done before, and it's taking me 3 days to do ONE. Once I've done the first I can move on to the other 8 (meant for a quilt block swap).
Mine being Canadian means I should have a Maple Leaf, and as it's for Sisters Of The Heart, I found one that has a heart in the middle :-)
25 pieces per, for the 10" block, and then I need to add 2 1/2" more cuz it's to be a 12" finished one.......
It's surely "stretching" my knowledge!!!

I am safe and have been helped a lot by the people at the tire store I have frequented over the years. I'm meeting the man I'm buying the ambulance for for lunch and will go from there. I'm fine for now, just still a little twitchy from everything, and will be better wednesday when I get a bunch of money (that almost always helps). Between scheduling the surgery and having to file a small claims action against a "friend" of twenty-five years and having been scared half-to-death on my trip up I can assure you that I'm hanging in and hanging on. Lots of stress but also lots of support. thank you for all I get here; it means a lot. Besides being grateful for the support, I am overwhelmingly grateful to have been sober for twenty-six years. I've learned to hunker down and keep breathing and trust that god will take care of me. Can't imangine trying to cope with this without a lot of sobriety. (I should also note that without a lot of sobriety, I'd have been dead long ago.)

Katie, I sure hope things calm down and turn around for the good. Being scared like that takes time to get over. I have PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and all it takes is something little to set it off and I climb in my shell for awhile and shut off the world to regroup. The friends on DG have been a wonderful help over the years. Baby steps, just little ones at a time and realizing that is in the PAST and each day is a new day for a new future helps so much. I hope you can do that also. It sure sounds like you are on your way.

Still windy here....going to bed in NY and might wake up in Kansas.
