Susan, I have tons of celtic music...Irish great-great grands from Scotland and the other set from Ireland....
Betty...this song is my all time feel better song....hard to feel bad and listen to Spyro Gyra's Morning Dance

Best/Worse/what did I learn today?chat with friends..
You've got me dancing and mellowing out, staff will be wondering what is up with that..lol
thaks Jean!
Where is everyone today..afternoon has been so long without you all?
Busy trying to clean house... Never ending story!
I'm back from the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Lunch - helped set up and cooked bacon for an hour........
It's 8c right now - very nice, but oh so windy!
I have some cushions (not very cushion-y) that I have to join together (two become one, to thicken them up!)
Also, cutting rest of fabric for RW / RWB block swap. Just have the last colour (deep red!!) to cut. Nine blocks
Shrove Tuesday - Pancakes and Sausages tonight. Who else will have a Fat Tuesday meal today?
Beat you to it Dianne, had mine for breakfast thanks to McDonald's. Lol. Not as good as yours for sure!
You are a blessing to that parish Susan, you must be exhausted..
LindaKay housecleaning is never ending..living on my own I have no one to blame for mess but must say those furries sure add to dusting, washing the floors daily and vacuuming.
Best..Greg called and said house A-ok, no problems so sigh of relief there! 2nd best was hearing from friends of Roger and I..they are in Lakeland Florida..left voice mail so will call later..bob is quite a character, always starts his message with..this is Bob Warry with a story, then goes on to say how I'm in their thoughts. Lol
My SIL Kim called me at work today..I spoke with mom for about 15 minutes this morning, she wasn't slurring her words but was fighting to find words, like every 5 words there would be a pause..Kim went to check on her..Kim thought she was fine but said she sees so many changes n her, primarily not sleeping and miserable with Jim mainly because of the dog's health...Kim said she was really embarrassed hearing mom berate Jim..Kim will speak with Mike and see if we can get together with Jim to discuss what has been going on..
Have had my bath, in silk Jammie's, didn't want Ann who will come foe tv bingo tonight to see me in my old grubby nighty again. Lol
http://www.stroke.org/site/PageServer?pagename=symp
Betty, it sounds like your Mom has had, or is having strokes! Please have her checked out? Check the link above, it gives symptoms...

Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding speech
Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
Sudden severe headache with no known cause
LindaKay if you remember she had a stroke about 4 years ago, I had a heck of a time getting her to the hospital!
Kim says mom has been taking more meds tan she should because of he constant coughing/ hacking.. For this sh says a specialist in 2 weeks...she says hat taking the meds eases the coughing (relaxants)
She sees her doctor in the morning
Hello To All ! Happy Mardi Gras !
Betty LOL Strangled Shrimp ! I'm sure the Cajuns massacred the French language on their voyage to Louisiana.... that's too funny.... Jean... just remember me when you find that place in your calendar... Love the music....♪♫♪♫
LOL Barb... usually the Mardi Gras parades just roll on ! This is the first year they postponed a Baton Rouge parade. It was gorgeous today... however I had to work...but I think I was the only person who did....
Oh Thea... can't tell you how wonderful to see you and Dianne.... LOVE those pics... Thank yoU ! What wonderful gifts for each other too ! Yes - will have to take another look at the cookbook... I did love the cream cheese mashed potatoes and the breakfast casserole...but remember there was a beef dish I wanted to try... something with Guinness....
Dianne's place is so serene... I think my blood pressure drops just looking at the scenery....
DSD's last night at home...she is headed back to college tomorrow. DH took us to Olive Garden... The first restaurant dinner with family that I can truly say I enjoyed.... It's really hard to believe how incredible the change has been....
I'll pop back in a bit....
Mary
Hi Mary, I am late for the night shift! LOL
I have had a rough week...and today was no better. And for heaven sake it is only Tuesday!
Had my doc appt. for the blood clot today. Although it is hardly there at all...he said he would feel better if I stayed on the thinner until May 1st. I am not back to 100% yet...maybe 80%. And with that, and not being as mobile from the pain issues....he would prefer we give it just a bit more time. I go off in May, then in August go back and see him to make sure the levels are good and it is not getting bigger or reforming anything....and then its a good to go, close the case!
Then "The child" wants me to go look at an apartment with her tomorrow. No way no how she can afford an apartment...but she won't listen. Don't want her signing a Lease....and getting in big trouble when she looses her job or something else happens. I just know this kid. BUT she won't listen to anything...just what she wants. She is 21...doesn't need my permission....just have to hope the landlord says "your only 21, need co-signer" or something...but don't think it will happen.
Mary, so very very happy you had such a nice weekend and that dinner was going well. I think when the kids are not together 24/7 it gives them things to talk about too. They all have a different life and can share so much when the family comes together.
I love Olive Garden...very good choice!
Debbie
Hey Debbie !
yes - PLEASE take it easy until back to 100% ! Do they have any low income apts around there? We have some in our area... if DS wanted apt...I'd try to steer him there... not really bad areas or anything... just apt. based on income...and his income....
If "The Child" thinks she is responsible enough to live on her own maybe an apartment with a low rent.... might be good for her how dorm living has helped DSD realize what all we actually do for her....
She was talking on the way to dinner about how much she appreciates Laundry... "NOT how Mary used to do all our laundry but more appreciates having a washer and dryer and not having to find quarters and dimes and lug everything to the laundromat" LOL....
It is truly a pleasure having her around... if you had told me last year I'd say that I would have said "NEVER!" LOL.....
I know that may change when she comes home for summer....but that's okay.
Might be a good thing for The Child.... I know you worry extra about her though and that is hard to let her go.... ((HUGS))
You'll all figure it out I know...
Morning everyone. The sun was out earlier but now it is very drab out.
What's everyone up to today?
Laura did you get your bed put together? Anxious to hear how you like it.
Time to get DH's breakfast. BBL

Morning, LindaKay how much is a flight from Buffalo to nearest airport next to you..maybe some good old Texas sunshine is in order??? lol
Well girls, mom call me today, she seemed a bit chipper..she was talking about my brother Mike coming over and helping get a realtor in to sell Toronto home..then she went on about possibly of her and Jim buying a condo..opening for me...'thought you said mom when the dog dies you are spilling up?' she relays that not if things get better so I say 'you have to be nicer to Jim mom, he's a wonderful man, am sure he can't take much more' she says 'I know I haven't been nice to him or a lot of other people...omg/omg finally her eyes are open somewhat..told her a few home truths in a nice way..made sense to her today, not sure if it will tomorrow lol
Thea thank you so much for the pics of your visit. Love the quilt.
Dianne the veiw out your back door is breath taking for sure.
Yep can see me sitting out there with coffee in the morning.
And yes the bed is together and ......I LOVE IT.
Slept very well and wish we had done it 6 yrs ago when we got this other piece of #$%^.
Off to take kids to the indoor pool.....shhhh it is a surprise.
Sun is shining and to all a good day....
Hi everyone!!!!! I haven't had time to catch up, hopefully I will have time, but just wanted to say Thea those are great pics of your trip to Warren and Dianne's!!! It's so great to put faces to names!
I had an interesting weekend, don't have a clue what happened to Saturday, it was sunny and 63* outside, but Sunday it was 67* and sunny so we planted potatoes and worked outside and worked inside and Dave picked up my ATV from the shop and dropped his ATV off at the shop, mine still isn't fixed, the back brakes went out so Dave took it in and I got it back still with no back brakes. It has front brakes now though, told Dave, he called them and he said they said normally 4-wheelers don't have back brakes because people ride the pedal without realizing it and just wear them out, so they didn't fix the back brake problem. I don't think that's accurate but all I know is it's my ATV, I'm the one riding it, and I want back brakes. Guess I'll have to learn to pull a trailer real fast and take it in myself. GGRRRRR Monday we were both off and fought like cats and dogs all day, no matter what I said was wrong and it got so bad I was cooking dinner, 5 minutes away from my pork chops from being done, he decides he wants Cream of Wheat so he started cooking this crap on top of me cooking, then he told me that my pork was done and I don't know what I was doing, it was bright red in the middle, I told him it was raw, he said it wasn't, I said Ok you can eat raw pork, I'm going to have mine cooked. He took a little bite off of the one he 'wished' to not be cooked anymore and said that it needed to go back in the oven. No &*^&* Shirlock!!! Yesterday was a wonderful day off!!! Dave went to work, I had to take his truck in to buy 2 new tires for it, $500 bucks later me and my friend went shopping, needless to say I didn't do any shopping after buying those stupid tires that could have been avoided if he would have let me taken his truck to get the stupid thing fixed to begin with, oh well, it rides like a Cadillac now! My friend didn't get any sleep the night before so she fizzled about 11:30, I dropped her off at her car then I went an hour south to a fruit stand that has these awesome jellies and jams, picked up a jar of strawberry preserves mmm mmmmmmmm
Debbie - I concur - PLEASE continue to take it easy, and DSD "be damned"....... I know I sound harsh today about it, but she's about to get "hoisted by her own petard"
Betty - good for you that your Mom was talking sense, would it be because Brian spoke to her as he did? hmmm?!?!
Crissy - interesting weekend, indeed!!
Thea - glad you got the bed together and had a good night's sleep!! Pretend it's "6 years ago" and that it's been this way ever since lol
Laura, so glad to see that the purchase of the bed is good value for the $$$...for the amount of time we spend in bed we deserve the best!! Won't tell the kids about swimming, by now I bet they are overjoyed!
Think Sharon when she called Susan told mom the importance of both she and the dog getting sleep, NOT to be up all night, then Kim dropped in yesterday and they talked, then I this morning and yes am sure Brian's outburst might have had her see reason..we can only hope.
Are you having a better day Susan? sure hope so.
Holy schmolly Debbie, how on earth does that child think she can afford an appartment on her own? Even a small flat, basement apartment must cost a good amount of money not including her food/car payment and money she owes her sister and BIL..yikes! If only she knew how well off she is with you and Paul.
Sorry you didn't get better results from the Doctor Debbie but considering all you've been through you've soooo made mega strides in getting back on your feet, you are to be congratulated.. Providing you behave won't be that long and you can be off that terrible medicine.
Crissy got to hate those weekends that bad moods prevail. No fun knowing the minute you open your mouth someone is there to contradict what you say..long weekends are so far and few between that you don't want to be arguing for sure..How come he's getting new tires for his truck when he's getting a new vehicle? is he keeping truck as well..
ooops got a call
I am having a better day - Bob's behaving himself again. It's not his "style" to say "Sorry"but at least I'm getting hugs and 'other' types of touching - not just being civil. I got a good night's sleep last night, and today when he decided to point out how to do things 'the right way' he did so in a 'backtracking' type of way.......... he'll know AGAIN that he cannot get away with being snarky to me!!
I'm working hard on getting my 9 RW swap blocks done - then will go to the Church to work on the library some more - need to catalogue some more books..........
Still haven't heard from the Agency about a job..... siiiiiiiigh
Oh Susan it must be so hard for you waiting for the agency to get in touch, especially when you are chomping at the bit to work. Did I miss the outcome of Bob's interview?
Thrilled to read your new bed is wonderful Laura.
Santa Warren has decided he wants his breakfast now. lol I made him eat some fruit earlier on and lo and behold the 'not hungry' man gobbled up all of the pear, some cheese and 2 large slices of fresh pineapple. Lets hope he can do a number on his pancakes too.
BBL
Dianne
Dianne - no you didn't miss the outcome of his interview. At this point they haven't hired anyone (at least so our friend who works there knows) but they haven't been in touch with him so we don't know what's happening.
Well darn Susan. I just hate when these businesses keep you dangling like that. Bet they wouldn't want to be treated the same way if they were in Bob's position. Sending positive thoughts to you both.

Thanks Dianne ^_^
here I sent you all a nice hug, gabbed with each of you..telephone rang, checked a few screens and off into lala land it went.
Just got back from lunch, 1/2 hr. to go, late lunch sure makes for a short afternoon..
Dianne, have you been cuddling in your rag quilt..sure is a beauty!! Can't tell you how much I enjoyed seeing the photo's of your visit..
Now Susan you know you won't be able to stay mad at Bob for long..life's too short go give him a hug..doesn't have to be a teddy bear hug but a hug anyway..
Mary, who would have thunk it right? lol didn't we all tell you that you would be the apple of your step-children's eye one day and you thought we were teasing..
Jean, maybe I was a voodoo witchypoo
Betty - we did the "hug" thing, so all's right with the world.
I agree - life's too short, so I took the first step yesterday, although I felt like the one wronged. I try to do the christian thing, although it IS difficult sometimes, with that "other species" lol
Betty, my rag quilt and I just took a 4 hour nap...OMgoodness! I sat and passed out I guess!
Susan, the right one will come along when your not looking....fingers and toes crossed, prayers said!
Something abou those rag quilts that say. " rest well my friend, earthly angels watch over you!". Glad you had a good sleep Debbie!
Susan, when all is said and done does it really matter who is right and who is wrong..proud of you for taking the initiate..
Sniff,sniff...still dealing with the snivels
Goodness where is everybody? Betty you are Sooooo right... LK we are having record high tomorrow as well.... Laura SO Glad the bed is all you wanted and more... is it hard to get up in the morning now? or easier ?
Crissy - what a crazy weekend...
Debbie - what's up ?
Dianne - SO Glad Warren is eating... bet he and you too had a blast with Thea and her DH....
I'll check back in a bit...
Mary
Thanks Debbie - the right job Will come around for both of us........ just hope it comes sooner, rather than later.
Wish we could "downsize" from Bob's leased truck, but he's tied in for the next 2+ years (same time as mine, but mine is a "regular ole" leased car)
Susan, I used to sign up with a bunch of different companies, maybe you should try that?
I usually do too, but for some reason I didn't this time (some people think it's dis-loyal to do so.......... but I'm looking out for myself, NOT the agencies).
As a matter of fact, I don't like this new recruiter, and I've been thinking about calling my previous recruiter, and also some other agencies.
Will do so tomorrow afternoon, after I remind myself Which Ones They Are lol
Mornimg all, soo wanted to stay in bed, the kitties took over the bed last night, barely room for me!!
Ok who sent the snow? Was thinking of raking this weekend and now all is covered in vblanket of white!
Susan best of luck today trying to make contact with your recruiter..are there many positions in the want ads?
Barb, are you still purging?? Haven't seen you post, hope neither you or Norm are I'll..
Starting to worry about our Judy, so unlike her not to drop in..
Oops Sailor wants in..
Good Morning to you all.
I hope everyone is fit and fine today. Another ride on the weather roller coaster for Mary and I...supposed to reach 82 for our high....I fear our Spring has sprung and moved on.
Betty, I fear you are much to kind to be a Voodoo Queen....I see you more as a New Orleans Lady....grin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPQIfN1D5xA
Good day and good thoughts to you all...off to the hospital to sit with FIL
Jean
We are going to be under a Storm Watch starting later today Betty. How about you? If I am Thea probably will be too. Going to go see what Frankie Flowers has to say...... gotta love that guy. He makes me smile, how about you Betty?
LK I forgot to mention how proud and happy Heather looked with her new quilt. How lucky she is to have you to support her.
Think I might throw some bales of hay over my Iris plants as they are up about 2 in on the south side of the house. Don't want this storm if it develops to kill them off.
Back in a bit. Need more coffee.
Dianne
Good morning friends.
It's so good to wake each morning and come here to see how you all are doing. I sure miss hearing from Shirley and Bev though. I'm worried about them....
So happy to know how wonderful Thea's visit was with Dianne. It still amazes me how close we all can feel to one another.
Betty, I sure wish you could get to feeling better. There has to be something going on within you to cause all these symptoms. But I know how you feel as far as getting to the bottom of things that's for sure. Sending prayers for answers for your Mom.....
If I haven't said hello to you yet Moon, I do so now and I'm happy to see you here. Thinking of you too Katie and hoping your next trip is a safe one.
Where are you Judy? I'm starting to fret over you too.....I know that crud you have been dealing with is such a drag.....
Laura, sure hope that new bed is all you need. Just remember, it will take a while for your body to acclimate to it. I'm sure it will be great for your back.....
Mary, it is soooo nice to know the steps have really started to come around. I always thought if you were kind and fair that they would see the light eventually. I'm just glad it is sooner~~~
Susan, you are really fortunate to have the job of doing the church library as it will keep you busy. Get in touch with these other recruiters though. When I temped, I was registered at four of them. You never know which one is going to be the right one.
Under a storm watch in the north of NH!!! We will get rain here. Not supposed to start until after midnight though. And of course , tomorrow is the day I finally have an appt for a haircut and to drop Sean's quilt to the longarmer. I guess it's the luck of the draw!!!
Dianne, I am thinking you are now the owner of the laptop. It's good to see you post so often. Are you and Warren just loving that quilt? I saw a preview too and I knew it was going to be so special to you both.
How are those headaches doing Thea? Are they going away? I miss seeing you post my friend.
Sending special thoughts and prayers to all in need.
I think I'm going to do a jigsaw puzzle today. Not the ones on line but a real, honest to goodness one from the puzzle store. I get to choose from two - one is 1000 pieces and the other is 3000 pieces. I'm thinking it will take me three days just to turn the pieces in the big one!!!!
Have a great day everyone and smile!!!!!
You would never know a storm is brewing, it's a sunshine day here..no sooner had I left home with snow lightly falling did I reach a dry roads. Like you all the are calling for a major hit come late evening, not concerned because telephones willl be switched over to the house as I work from home on Friday (could say I play at home Fridays)! Am concerned though, Greg leaves early Friday morning..can't see why he needs to travel same distance to go snowmobiling as it would to travel to beaches of Florida but not everyone has the same likes..lol..but it will be a long day driving in bad weather conditions..mommy's always worry right?
Dianne, do love Frankie Flowers..a real character! His parents own the garden center that I always go to..he is often there on Saturday mornings giving tips on gardening..I've considered buying his new gardening book, have you read it? Haven't checked my iris to see if they needed covering but I'm concerned that my gardens will pay the price of litte snow for insulation this past winter..starting to get antsy, already into buying seed packets..think I now have 10..5 though is for baby's breath which I love seeing between the plants and last year none grew..maybe if I plant enough I'll get a few sprigs.
Jean, OMG don't think I've ever been a 'lady' in any of past lives..lol actually my phychic friend painted me as being a Jessibel, said that is why I will forever have to wait on men as a payback for being so cruel to men during that lifetime...Jim Wilkie sure could get me going, wish he was still here, I'd so love to sit and have our tea sessions like we used to do.. When I do come back to New Orleans, hoping end of July with the girls a must will be going into the bayou country where the deap dark secrets lie..now that would be fun? do you and Mary think they have such outings?
Barb, I was at Cathy's the other day and she was working on a puzzle, as we spoke I'd find a piece, got so engrossed that I hated to leave, sure is addictive...are taking a break from sewing? How's Norm doing?
was on-line looking at products at a NewMarket quilt shop, yikes, jellyrolls are between $45-55, that is quite expensive I think..when you busy the jellyroll is it already sewn together? If I take Noah (14th birthday tomorrow) to NewMarket to Joyride 150 on Saturday I think I'll head over and look at fabrics, patterns etc? Certainly would fill in the day vs. sitting at the facility..let's hope weather co-operates. Will have to touch base with Melody tonight and see what the plans are..if I don't go I might take a ride to Meaford...love the candle / sewing / antique and warehouse..always great way of filling in a day! Am on the hunt for a new grouping for back porch, you know the new wicker outdoor sets that are hard based plastic of type, well my thoughts are rather than having a cafe / table chairs on back deck that I do not use (ever) that if I had a place to sit, put up my feet, read a book I just might use it..do you believe this? lol anyway these sets are just coming out in the stores, not many yet to pick from so am on the hunt. Zellers has just what I want but the set, plus footstool and corner piece $1,000, bit more than I want to spend for a unit that likely will be used 2 or 3 times..
Yikes, drama/drama
Barb have fun with that puzzle! I used to love to do those, the bigger the better!
Susan all those companies compete with each other, I used to love signing up with a bunch of them and take tally of who calls more often, I had several that would call about every job they had that fit my job description and then there were those who didn't call at all. Companies who are looking to hire a temp usually only go through one company, so if you only go through one company you could be missing the boat in a very large way. It's like the lottery, damned if you do and damned if you don't.
Betty I hope that storm doesn't get to you before you get off work! There's a RV, Boat, and Fishing show this weekend here in Little Rock me and Dave wanted to go to but he's got to work all weekend. Wonder if I can find someone to go with me, I want to learn about some fishing tackle LOL!!
Hi everyone else!!!!!! I'm worried about Bev and Shirley too, wish they would say hi so we all know they're ok!
