And I thought I had seen it all with the Mets...oh, wait....I have!
Sports Talk!! Part 8 Spring Training Edition
Knew Valentine would not go over big there. He is a major flake.
come on only 14 games into the season!!!
Years with the Mets. I know him too well!
Yeah, but I think I would take him over Collins.....sometimes he looks disinterested in the game....well, I probably would, too.....
Yes, not a fan of Collins either. I liked Davey.
I liked Gil Hodges!
Yes!
Don't feel in the spirit this year with the Red Sox after last seasons flop ,haven't watched a game.Rather read my gardening books.
I'm not all that impressed with Valentine yet either. In fact, I think he's cost the Red Sox a couple victories already. But the fans booing him when really it was the bullpen choking made me feel bad for Bobby V. Just a little bit. But then I remember that he's probably making 3 or 4 million a year to get booed. I'd take that job.
He didn't hire the pitching staff. Dicekay (phoentic spelling) has been a butst. but then all the teams were after him. Someone from Japan told a friend that he was looked on as arogaunt there. You can understand why he was tacked on to a certain training system, but could not change to a different number of games. I think that they will have to rebuild.
Did you hear our governor talking about the Nets??? ROTFL

He is hilarious!
Go Rangers!
Does the sport of Cycling ever come up here? I've taken up bicycling with a passion. The first 5 miles killed me. Now my daily ride is twice that and I feel great.

good for you, Andy. I always try to follow the Tour de France when it's on.

I was thinking about it Andy, but I live in a very hilly area.....I'd have to drive to a bike trail to ride......
Hi, Robin. Hills are fun half the time, lol. Hills are strength builders, just click to a lower gear.
Cycling has improved my mood, strength, confidence and forced me to cut way down on the beer. Spectator sports are fine but there's nothing like getting out there to push yourself. Get the endorphins flowing, know what I mean.
It's been too windy for riding lately but today is perfect. I need a destination, something like a dozen miles round trip.
The herring run (fish ladder) in West Bridgewater MA was 12.5 miles round trip. Not too hilly and mostly on smooth wide sidewalks.

Biking is great exercise.
That looked like a fun ride, Andy!
I really wanted to take a long ride yesterday but a major home landscaping project kept it short. I also wanted to try out my new 'clip on your glasses' rear view mirror. Messing with adjustments ruined the first few miles until I stopped for a pic and removed it. Knowing it would be a short ride, I did not wear riding shorts. Six or seven miles is the limit without the shorts. I got home unfulfilled.

Sorry, Andy....it is a spiffy bike!
The bike was my older sisters, I inherited it last Fall. She rode well into her 70s. Tough old bird.
Yay for tough old birds...I hope that's what folks say about me!
What a catch!
http://m.wimp.com/greatcatch/
Tonight the Mets play their 8000th game.
Great catch but is that actual professional frisbee? Really?
Guess so. Would love to play!
love frisbee - still play on the beach by myself just fire it into the wind and wait for it to come back
All those Mets games & no no-hitters :>( Can't believe that guy caught up to the Frisbee....
Yes, no no-no's. saw a few one hitters with Seaver and Gooden.
Ah, the good old days!
Rangers!!!
Celtics by one!!!! They scared the dickens out of me.
Mets need a new bullpen......
I see the Sox beat up on the Indians. DH is crying here.
Yes - horrible pen and worse closer!
The red sox need to keep going. The older pitchers have a rotten attitude in spite of their skills, figuring what they do (playing golf with have misses a start on their off day doesn't affect the club. New blood is needed.
new blood or a kick in the..............really just beckett the others look like they are trying
Our pastor volunteered to pitch for them...said he couldn't do much worse!
