BETTY! It just means you went to the WRONG doctor. Get thee to a Neurologist! Something is NOT right.
Take your tests that have been run, get copies of EVERYTHING....including the MRI or CT Scans...and call a neurologist!

WOMAN, do you need a shovel to pop you upside the head? We have enough strong force women here....don't make us come up there and duct tape you up and drag you to the doctor.....or across the border to one!

I'll back you up Deb. Something isn't right Betty and it sounds like you are being fluffed off.....
Sometimes a new Dr with a different perspective can see things that have been in front of your regular doctor's eyes but he couldn't see them because he thinks he knows you so well. Sort of like not seeing the forest for the trees sort of thing. Also, who is reeading these test reports? A regular doc doesn't know how to read them properly and he could be missing something significant....In any case, these headaches are NOT normal or okay!!!!!

You know my perspective of it, if you don't know what is wrong then find out, GO TO A NEUROLOGIST, CHIROPRACTOR, DIFFERENT MED DOC, DO SOMETHING, you know you don't have headaches for no reason and you're making me think that you're just to chicken to go find out, that it might be something serious that you would rather not know about (I'm like that so I can relate) However, it's better to find out and have it cured than to never know and have Greg or Jeff, or worse yet a grandchild, find you dead because you never did anything about it.

Not so easy for Betty just to call up a neurologist with our health system. It is pretty much on referral from your GP that you get an appointment and then you are put on a wait list. So Betty would have to ask her GP to refer her to a Neurologist because she is not happy with what she has been told and what she is experiencing with pain and discomfort every day. Betty CALL that GP of yours today and INSIST a referral be made to a SPECIALIST as you are still experiencing such horrid pain each and every day. Tell him your everyday life is being interrupted by all of these symptoms. Please Betty DO IT today. Stand your ground and insist. I think a great Neurologist at ST Mike's or Sunnybrook would be a super idea as it will get you out of the Barrie system.

There now I have said my piece I will support you 100% Betty as will everyone here on this thread.

Betty, it is not a cold causing these headaches, so please call the Dr, and get an appointment. You post almost daily of these headaches and some are so bad it is hard to function. This is NOT normal!

The living room wall is all painted and tony is doing the repairs on the last living room wall which can then be brownbagged. I am gathering supplies to make the curtains. have lost thirtyfive pounds but my knee feels like its rubbing bone on bone and my ability to focus on anything is not good. I've gone through most of my fabric and have some organization done. Still working on books. Tony assures me that things are much improved. I can play a little now without feeling gulty about not organizing more.

We had a little rain last night and this morning. Very unusual and most welcome.

I see my doctor in San Diego on the 19th so I'll be headed north in about a week.

Betty, I agree on your need to see a specialist. So many doctors write off complaints, especially from women, when they don't know what to do. One reason I really like Kaiser, and my doctor in particular, is the easy access to specialists. All I've ever needed to do is ask my doctor for a referral, or tests, or an x/ray and he orders it. You might need to keep calling your doctor every day until he makes the referral. Do you think crying and yelling might help. I believe in making it more uncomfortable for them NOT to help you than to make the referral. Sometimes the sqeaky wheel gets the grease and the nice one gets ignored.

Bad pain today. I'll go home and lie down. Not sure I'm making any sense.

That would be thrilling, never SEEN a baby being born..can't even imagine..when I had my kids not even the hubby got in..with Greg I was too ill to know what was happening, with Jeff got to hospital, taken to delivery room and minutes later had him, no visuals! Didn't see the babies for hours later. Of course when Jeff was born I so wanted a girl that I argued I had one..

You are a long drive off though, you just may not make it without a speeding ticket or two.

Katie! So sorry you're having so much pain! Betty's in Canada so the healthcare is a little different than what we're used to. That's why I said do whatever you need to do to get in to a doc.

I saw my Granddaughter born, Rory was a C section, so I could not see him. It is truly a blessing to see a child delivered!

Oh LK that is very exciting for you. Will this be the first delivery of a grandchild you have been able to be a part of? LOL at Heather and the quilt. Yep I agree with you make something in blues and Heather can decide exactly what she wants after the baby is born.

OK Betty - here's a compromise that I think will make us ALL happy, cause we do worry about you so. Since it takes so long to get an appointment with your GP call today or tomorrow morning and make that appointment. Tell the office staff what you want copies of - it should all be free however the hospital does sometimes charge you $20.00 for a copy of your MRI.Now keep a daily journal on how you feel, what pains you get, intensity, when and where - you will need to take this with you when you see your GP plus what meds you take to help with the pain and if they work. Tell your GP when you have your apptment that while you did hear what he was saying you do not agree and that you want a referral to a specialist preferably a Neurologist as it is headaches that seems to be the bane of your existence at the moment. Quietly and firmly insist he refer you to a specialist if he refuses ask him to refer you to another GP as you do want a second opinion. Ask for an apptment in TO as you know things move so much quicker there due to the # of docs availble to the public. You are not insulting your GP you are just asking for a second opinion. So we can count on you to make the appointment immeediately, right? Heavens you might be 3 weeks before you get to see him and in my opinion that is 3 weeks too long. Remember the packing of the parachute Betty!

DH had a chest xray on Monday while at the CC. There is a concern about draining his lungs. Today the hospital called with a date for his next Cscan - it is Feb 15. This was an urgent referral too. Yep things move slowly here in Kingston too. Thank heavens he didn't have to stay however once again there was talk of admitting him. I think the horror oh W's face convinced them not to...

Will call tomorrow for Dr's appointment promise! Step 1 of it sounds like an 8 step program. But, stuffed up with cold, affecting sinus so likely the cause of past few days..will have a hot steamy bath tonight, put some Vicks on and see if it clears a bit.

Poor Warren, I imagine he is fretting NOT to have to stay at the hospital, wants to be home with you..am sure he is worried about you as well Dianne being home and on your own. Will be exhausting for Warren having lungs drained and very painful I imagine.

Haven't heard from Darkene since yesterday afternoon, normally that wouldn't be a concern but knowing she's hurting so badly and my not getting replies to my emails makes me worry..you know when yo are a NBC of ladies, just gabbing, laughing if somehow I or ne od the other girls could have possibly said something to offend her..never in 10 years has a hurtful word pass between us.. I'll wait till mornimg and give her a it of time, if no contact I'll call her.

I am sure she will be grateful that you cared enough to do so...... while I have never met her personally it seems out of character for her to be out of touch for so long without mentioning her upcoming absence. Trust your instincts Betty, especially after you felt she was so unsettled yesterday.

Thanks everyone, I decided to call Darlene..she said she did email me using my work e-mail rather than iPad..she went to the monthly dinner at community center today, got home at 1:30 and had a little nap as she didn't sleep well last night..told me not to worry! As if that will happen..said a lot were wearing perfume, all dolled up and she came home with headache..also said her mom wasn't doing well..drats hoping she keeps her health up for a bit, not so sure Darlene could handle a lot more..I say that, but we seem to muddle through regardless, no other option.

Speaking of moms, always talk to mine n the weekend, didn't this weekend..although I don't want to call I must at some point, might as well be tonight..I know that Sharon hasn't called for awhile..feel guilty..have emotional support for friends so best find some for mom...ok dialing now

Betty - hope that head cold of yours clears up soon! Seriously now - try some Ginger drink. I get some that's 11 month old ginger (pure) in crystals. Add one pouch to a teapot full of hot water (should make 2-3 cups of drink) and it's Wonderful for colds - chest, throat, and head!!!

It may be a tad early to plant directly in ground, but I always put seeds in water bottles and ice cream cartons around now. I don't know if I am keeping them moist enough though, because my water freezes in the morning and I have been getting home too late and forgetting to go out in the dark to moisten them. I hope I have them moist enough to make it one more day. We will see.

What a terrible night, went to bed early after taking something for my cold and was in a deep sleep, telephone rang at 12:30am canceling the signing that was to happen this morning..having the telephones switched to the house does have a few drawbacks. She so apologized, thought she would get the answering machine!! Wide awake I was, could not go to sleep. Am sure I'll nap at some point today!

Debbie, did call mama Fran, luckily my nephew was waiting for calls re his work shift today so had to put me on hold a few times, then I got not a sneezing jag so finally said I had to go. Stayed away from dog topic..can't go wrong in asking how she was doing with her rag quilt?? Well she went on to tell me Sharon was going to call to do Rambo's feet and work on mom's quilt with her but mom had to cancel out, seems the dig was having problems, didn't know anybody..didn't know what to say without sounding cold, ended up asking how she knew Rambo didn't know her?? Seems he was confused and kept walking the 3 floors..she called Jim from work, went to the vets, vet told them to increase the meds and that he wasn't in any pain..can't tell me having brain cancer isn't painful but then with $$$ being spent in outrageous amounts why would the vet tell them otherwise. Mom wasn't in hysterics but she was in her 'answer question with a cut/dried' answer...so be it!!

Daylight out there, think I'll be out and see if all the extension cords are frozen into the ground or if I can roll and store in back shed..hardly a sign of Christmas..all that remains standing inside is the 5' Santa in the basement, too heavy for me to move so will have to wait until one of the boys visit.

Then Cathy called to say she did her morning walk and beside her most of the way 2 deer watched and followed..now where is a camera when you need one..then, she asked if I was the crazy lady in her nighty working outside at an ungodly time of morning..saw me on her walk..she will come with me to Barrie then we can shop and I'll take her out for Chinese..

Speaking of camera's, think I'll bring men with me..so nicely decorated in Garden Gallery..am in a windchime swap, hopefully will find a nice one, trouble is I don't have my name so not sure of her/his preference.

Betty when I was a Realtor I used to always get woke up at midnight so I know how that feels, it is good that she thought she was going to get the office's answering machine. My midnight to 3am calls were usually the clients asking if escrow closed. I always wanted to say but never did, Yes, escrow closed in the middle of the night all by itself with nobody working at title, it's magic!! LOL that's funny that the whole neighborhood saw you out in your nighty running around the Christmas tree! And no you're not being cold to your mom, she's just so negative that you just can't stand it. Do you think that if the dog were to die today would she have an autopsy done?
