Been thinking about you and your project, sounds like you and Norm are making great progress!

I just finished purging a lot of stuff from the basement! Also "Made" Steve make some decisions! So now it's just a matter of getting things organized.
What started out to be "something" to do turned out to it's got to get finished, now!! So I've been working almost around the clock.
Julia and I worked on the Pool room and Bar and then Anthony helped with the Tool Room areas. By yesterday 2:30 I was finished. The place looks great and i really hope it is successful enough to get a good appraisal...Now we just have to keep it nice until Saturday. I really need to take a good rest now.
Took a few pictures, but Geesh, I hate this camera! The pics are just horrendous...Never did find the Charger to the other camera, well anyways...Now i can work on a few projects that have been on hold.--Mostly sewing projects.

It started off great. This was the first series of the Regionals.
Since our school was hosting, I was able to go. So, I video'd his matches.
He lost the first match which put him in line for Third place...
That match began, he was doing fantastic!! Score was 8-2 with 2 mins to go.
All the sudden Coach jumps up and the other guy is declared winner by default!!
They pulled Jake from the match, He was staggering, blinking eyes...It was a second time during the match and should have ended, but i think while it was happening the Ref didn't notice. Everyone concerned.
Turns out the actions were from Exhaustion/dehydration?!? I don't know, but Jake is So, so upset, that they pulled him out.
Now his wrestling is over, he's out!! He can't even believe this happened. He was SOO mad it brought him to tears!
I feel really bad for him and he is just depressed over it..After he calmed a little bit, he told the trainer at least he isn't a Senior.
With everyone asking how he did, he just gets more angry.
So, I guess this knocks him out of chances for going to State! But he was cleared to go to practice. He's working out with his good buddy, said he wasn't going to just leave him hanging, with no one to practice with (in his weight field).

The trainer said, five years ago, the match would have continued but these days they have to pull the kids due to a lot of safety rules.
But they didn't give him the option of stopping and thats why he was so upset. And really, they could have given him a tiny break to drink water. I've seen other kids taking a water break...But, the mom in me says better safe then sorry! of course, he yelled at me for saying it, oh well.

I hope Santa Warrens appointment goes well. Sounds like you will be prepared for him to stay should he have to. But I hope he will be good to come home.
Oh Dianne, here is the photo of my mini Stove!! it's adorable, i got it at a garage sale for $15.00. LOL, I thought it was worth it, and it actually burns!

Here is the Staircase. Steve and Brian built them...Originally you had to climb a ladder in a closet to get down or go down an outside stairwell.

That second picture is One side of the basement.
Originally it was all open and un-finished...I love the Shelving walls and the windows in the staircase.

Here is the other side of basement, the laundry area and Heat and boiler area...

Very Nice - love the open-concept, and the Wood!!

OH Susan, Sounds quite frustrating about the work front!! Well hopefully now they know your not the receptionist, they will keep you busy and hire you full time.

Thanks Judy - had a lovely chat with the Project Manager (Andy) and he's more sympathetic to my (personal) position. He came expressly to ask if I'd heard any news about the position (which of course I haven't). He applied for his position in August, from their UK office, and it took until December to hire him. Then he had to wait for his Visa, etc (which the company was setting up for him) and it took until the end of Dec to get That straightened out.
This company does not move slowly - more like a snail's pace.......!!

Judy big bummer about Jacob's wrestling, but they do pull them out for their own good, adult athletes don't stop when they should, kids certainly don't know when to say when and they'll keep going until they're dead, then the school gets sued by the parents for killing their kids when it was the kid who wanted to continue in the first place.

Judy that is nice, and nicely done!! I'd buy it for the basement alone!

Wow, just woke up, dozed off after may last post..Ann is coming over for tv bingo, her brother is up, told her she didnt have to come over but she said she was..sniffling and feverish..drats sure hope I'm not coming down with something on my week at home!


Going back to your post Judy, you just know that Jacob would never have said 'enough' thanks goodness even if it broke his heart it was for the best. You hear so much of young athletes having major health issues when competing because coaches want the win rather than safety of the competitor. Kudos for the smarts of Jakes' officials


What beautiful work Steve does..lines are so clean..am sure you will sell it in no time and at a big profit..is the market moving at all in your area?

Barb, sounds as though you and Norm are accomplishing much..you will have the extra sewing area filled in no time..amazing how that happens. You are not overdoing are you? Love the quilt..thought maybe the strings were embroidered, wow that you will be able to tie them. Diane was here this morning, brought a beautiful fabric purse and wallet..she'll come over one Saturday and well make the combo..perhaps a few Saturdays. Would be ice gifts for the girls..

Dianne, how did you and Santa Warren do at the doctors yesterday? You are familiar with this area..over the weekend at Six Mile Lake provincial Park they found a cub bear on the ice, cuddled into a ball and frozen..brought it to OSPCA wildlife center and fed, gave medical attention and then found a place for it to hibernate again...seems this little one with changes in the weather thought it was spring!

Judy - So sorry how disappointing that must have been for Jake & you... as mentioned... at least he is not a Senior. I'm sure next Season he'll go all the way to State....you had mentioned moving in the house... so did you all decide otherwise?

Yes - DSD2 has been "nice" lately. It's amazing after years of what I went through with them the turnaround in attitudes was SO quick...

DH will pop up to see DSD1 this Friday... near where he has to work Saturday.

It was gorgeous here today.

Popping in for a quick hello!

Betty, I left to do errands today and pick up a few things. Ended up at the Christmas Shoppe and several stores in the area, and got nothing I set out for. Was amazed how empty the store was after it was so crowded last week when we were there. I spent four hours looking for a lot of things on my list....and only came home with vacuum filters!

Paul is working thru the pain and said it is much better after the steroid injections...so he is putting it off. I need a 2 X 4! Wants to get his knee surgery done first!

Mary, don't get your hopes up....she will be homeo n spring break soon, and praying she is still on the good side when she leaves! Can't believe there is only 3 months left of this semester....Shane will be home for summer by May 15!

My ears started hurting this afternoon and a dry irritated cough, so sure hope it goes away. They were saying on the news that it hasn't been cold enough long enough to kill allergens and people are suffering from that. Ugh!

Judy, so sad abotu Jake, but it was probably for the best....although he sure doesn't see that. Having a son in sports I certainly understand his situation and how he is hurting. Not a good feeling. One of those no-win situations.

To tell you how bad it can be, Last week a 12 year old boy was playing la cross and got hit in the chest with a ball. Sadly he died today from that injury. You just never know.

Debbie, Paul's body is in such bad shape, did he have an accident at some poin or just from not looking after himself like he's doing now? Think we are both coming down with a cold Debbie..the girls today saw the flower pot I bought have orders to pick some up next time I go if some are left..that and some stove liners for stained glass use.

The Winter Fest is this weekend? Sounds like fun....

The Bosses have been nice to my face... but although I keep asking them to replenish my accounts.. and they say "yes - we will take care of you" nothing is being done. My Feb paycheck will not be enough to pay mortgage... but I do have a Plan.... LOL.....

The whole Family is going to WDW: Me, DH, DS, DSGF (if her Dad lets her) and DSD1 DSD2. We will go to both Universal Parks and all 4 WDW parks....with One day "off"... I've really broke the bank with this trip however we haven't had a family vacation for a while... and I'm trying to impress on them that they really have NOT seen all of WDW... there is really SO much to do there... (like the horse back riding as a family) that they have never done.....

No one even knows where we are staying... the whole trip is a "secret"... I'm not divulging till we get there so It is very special to me......((HUGS))

OH! I HAD to get a dining reservation in CANADA! It's the MOST sought after ressie in Epcot....! and I got us Lunch ressies there at Le Cellier ! They have the most amazing FOOD !

Epcot is the "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow" ... it contains "Future World" and the "World Showcase".... The World showcase has different Countries represented....

Going counter Clockwise.... (and I may be a bit "off Here"...) Canada...United Kingdom... France....Morocco...Japan.... America(U.S.)... Italy....Germany....China...Norway...Mexico.....

So many countries are represented at Epcot... and they have Restaurants...Shows... Attractions... and Shops to represent each Country....

I LOVE Epcot ! Le Cellier is the most desired restaurant (Canada) in Epcot... I ate there in May 2010.. with DS... they are famous for their Cheddar Cheese soup (was YUMMY!) and steaks (I had the mushroom filet)... and it was the most delicious meal I'd ever had at DisneyWorld!

still no signs of snow, of course I have to go to Barrie for a signing tomorrow, must leave at 11:30 so am sure it will be snowing as per weatherman...girls gave me $80 gift certificate for garden center so with. My other gist cards from same place I'll enjoy buying myself something pretty.

Love the 3d theatre at the Canada exposition..makes me proud each time I visit!
I especially like the lazed show done at Epcot each year.

Was surprised last Christmas that the Michael Jackson 3d theatre was again playing after so many years of being closed. You will so enjoy your family time..

June was painting a 'sepia' canvas of canada geese..turned out gorgeous (shhh Darlene helps an awful lot) as June's wrists are gone..

Mary - yes I know about EPCOT - just didn't realize Canada was one of the countries........after all, we're not much different than US so didn't know what the "draw" would be..........

Darlene had a very difficult day yesterday..throughout the morning I could feel her panicking..

Morning everyone! Thanks for the coffee Betty. No I have not made a baby quilt yet. Every time I get the fabrics together, she calls and says she changed her mind. One day she wants it to me music related as he is named after Bob Dylan and Bob Marley, then she changes her mind and wants a nautical theme, now she says she wants it John Deere fabric. So I just might sit and make it blue colors, and she can make her themed ones! LOL!

Now I am standing here with hands on hips, and tapping my foot! You are still having those darn headaches, and it is time for you find a different Dr. that will do something about them! Please ask for a referral? Or just call someone yourself? It is not normal for someone to have so many painful headaches like that!

Betty I miss those sweet sweet ladies!!!! I remember everyone, and what nice work everyone does! Yup, just keep Darlene busy, you're an awesome friend Betty so I have no doubt you will take care of her like she needs to be taken care of. Do something about those headaches. I've been having a lot of them too but I know it's the whiplash on the left side of my neck, I get it to pop and the headache goes away.

Mary you all are going to have a great time, I hope DSD2 keeps her ego down to a dull roar for the rest of her life, hopefully it was just TTS (Typical Teen Syndrome)

Lordy, Barb/Norm and our Judy have me thinking of cleaning corners, shaking my head here, everytime I clean a corner I find an unfinished project..found a clock this morning hidden under papers on my computer desk and just washed floor in the rec.room part of basement...oh oh floor cloth painted to look like rocks with leaves and butterfilies I think they are said finish me/finish me..how on earth do we let ourselves get so behind..I'll be here until this christmas trying to finish the unfinished
