Mary, you've given me the push to make spaghetti and meatball sauce and freeze..keeps some out for supper, who knows might give me the urge to invite company.. Omg there is no way I could get a job selling, not in me, have to be a special person like you.

Already to call it a quiet night..enjoyed scratching the stained glass piece off my 'to do' list, few panels of the lamp done so now it's feet up, went and found a box of gardening and country living magazines..sometimes just leafing through them is fun...ideas, sometimes that gets me into trouble!

Haven't read yet because I'm FIRST ! YAY I've NEVER been first ! :o)

Betty - You would be a TOP NOTCH Salesperson.... because the main thing is to try to be a good Listener.... and that you are.....

Spag and Meat Sauce came out fine and I like the new young man of DSD2.... Best of all.... seeing DSD2 acting so mature.... she was the one I've struggled most with as of late...

She offered to clean if I would cook supper....and she did.....wanting to show the young man the house and it was a mess....
offered to help me cook... after he left she Thanked me for spending time to "Make him feel comfortable".... (DH was on the couch in front of TV)LOL

Wow - who'd have thought ?

HUGS<
Mary

Lyndonville, NY

Mary, that is good news! She must really like this guy to want to impress him like that!

I have had a day for sure. DH is still not feeling well at all, elbow very swollen and can't even bear to touch it. I can see the swelling myself in the elbow. Doc didn't want to drain it for risk of damaging it more so...as he doesn't know what caused it so fast. He will have to see the orthopedic on Monday for sure. Even two vicodin were not touching the pain.

I took Shane shopping at Kohls. One thing to live around here and deal with the cold, but it is freezing in the fingerlakes area and long walk up to the school. So got him a few hoodies and sweathers. Thankfully they were 70% off....so we hit some very good deals. "Saved $167.00" on total....it was just under $65 for 5 nice ones.

He will be going back early tomorrow, not sure what time or if I am taking him or his sister. And we are having the "super bowl" party with the older two coming over also. DH is usually the chef for all this...but I don't think so tomorrow!

Debbie

Baton Rouge, LA

Oh WOW Debbie.... So Sorry About DH elbow..... Can't expect him to cook tomorrow.... Will you figure out another way to feed everyone?
We have no plans tomorrow... so I suppose we 'll just watch the game together and eat whatever...
Great deals on the clothes....
Shane will really enjoy getting to be home for a while.....

Great deals on clothes... Shane will surely realize the value on them..... ((HUG)S

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Debbie that sounds so painful. Elbow's have nerve pain which is like tooth pain, hard to control.

We are going to do our taxes tomorrow. Can't wait to get it over with. Hope it is a good year. We both had surgeries and so we made less, hope that will be good for us.

The cod liver oil for the dogs was gel caps and flavorless. My dog acted like it was getting Dog Nip. It was though he knew it helped him and he needed it. My dog had not been on the sofa or up the stairs for years and the first night we gave it to him. He was on the sofa and up the stairs the next day.

Morning everyone..

Deciding weather to get mobile or not.,,,, Sailor girl beside me snoring as well as Riley , animals sure can get into a deep sleep, wonder if they ever have sleepless nights? Guess getting up and being productive is better than tossing and turning.

Dawn,,good luck with the taxes, let's hope you get a substantial return...always plenty of places to spend it..nice when you can treat yourself !

I'll have to pick some cod liver oil up Dawn and see if it help Sailor.

Super Bowl day everyone, enjoy the festities and may your team win!

Debbie how did Paul get through the night? Still in major pain!

Mary, did you like the new beau?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Time to get out of my jammies, think my brother Bernie might come this morning to see how difficult it could be or if possible to change piping to accommodate the granite washroom counter I have Timbrr set aside for me in hopes it can be done.

Before I put this window SG piece to bed with the heron lol I thought I'd show you the finished piece

Debbie so sorry to hear about Paul and his elbow. Hope the Dr. can fix easily.
Mary sounds like dinner went well and DSD2 was helpful.
No sun here. Time to change the batteries in smoke/fire detectors one is peeping like crazy.
Will go get as we need 7 -9 volts and then time to get ready for football.
Neither of our teams made it but DH loves to watch and I sit and hand quilt while watching.
waving to all...enjoy the day.

Lexington Park, MD

Oh my gosh that piece is just beautiful Betty. Will it hang where the sun will shine through it and cast colors everywhere?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Laura, you just reminded me about changing all my batteries..usually do it New Years but with Mike dying I completely forgot!!! A must for sure..

It could hang in the sun but I finished it only to say I finished it and didn't scrap it, so it will live under the spare bedroom bed, will not hang in my living room. Christmas is coming so could be seen as another gift..

About another hour and I'll be done the lamp that someone who passed on had cut..some of the seems not the best but someone will like it

Greg and Kyle just dropped in, they are on their way 100 miles North to find snow for snowmobiling..invited them for spaghetti tonight but Melanie had already started supper and had invited friends..told me to call earlier..shucks wonder if when I'm up at 4:30 they'd appreciate a call.

He saw the stained glass piece and wanted to take it home.. told him to leave it where it was, Christmas is coming..he started to laugh, said Christmas is always coming with me..lol
So off they went..did say he didn't particularly like what Melanie was cooking so might drop in to steal a containeer of sauce..that's my boy...

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Lexington Park, MD

Betty I in your front yard you have a tops-turvy planter. I have the same one.And look there is snow also.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Not a lot of snow Laura, imagine the boys having to go about 100 miles north of here just to find a place to snowmobile and even at that not a whole lot of snow up there.

Best I check on spaghetti sauce, wouldn't want to burn a whole pot..I'll leave the pieces set till afternoon then will wax them..ohhh 2 projects off my to do list..

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Verona, ON

Betty you probably will believe this because you do SG but I only have 1 piece of SG hanging in the whole house.lol People when I tell them that do not believe me. In my computer/den I have a native piece of my own design. It is a Spirit Lady and I just love it. I made it as a custom order years ago but when I was finished I loved it so much and it made me feel so calm I kept it. I designed something fairly similiar for the customer so she was happy with hers too. Don't miss waxing completed pieces at all.

Debbie, Debbie, Debbie what are we going to do with these husbands of ours? Its not as if you didn't have enough on your plate already. Some of the swelling is down today in W's feet but not that much. We see the Radiation Oncologist tomorrow so I will take a duffle bag with a change of clothes, toothbrush etc incase she wants DH to stay. I doubt that she will but I want to be ready just in case.Sending positive thoughts and energy your way Deb!! Enjoy your Super Bowl party! What are Shane's feelings about going back to college today? I won't ask yours!

Laura how are your kitchen cupboards coming along? I need to Murphy Oil all of mine and the bathroom ones but it just seems to get pushed to the bottom of the list each day.

Mary I was just delighted to hear DSD2 wanted to bring her fella home to meet everyone. SOunds like things went well. I am so envious of your temps.

Despite Streak (my male cat) trying to kill it off my Shamrock plant, it has bloomed again. Wooo hooo. Someone suggested getting an old bird cage to put it in and I am seriously thinking about doing just that.

((((Barb)))) Hope you and Norm are having a great weekend together.

Crissy what are you up to this weekend? Did you settle on going out?

Judy, did Jake have wrestling this weekend?

Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

I most certainly can believe it Dianne..isn't it an old adage that a shoemaker has no shoes, mechanics car always not tuned?? Would so love to see the Spirit Lady piece..will was my piece..received as a gift a rotary brush to buff, so will get a chance to use it.

Must admit though I do have 5 stained glass lamps..only stained glass hanging is my fist piece that I made what my sister showed me how. Guess compared to you I'm greedy..lol

With regards to packing a bag I think it's better to be prepared than not. How are you both today..we're you able to get more rest!

So quiet out there today, barely a car on the road..kind of a lonesome day, perhaps that is why I've been keeping myself busy. Perhaps it's the weather, winter enthusiasts and gardeners alike cannot get to enjoy as its neither cold enough or warm enough.

Morning,

We spent the evening and night in the ER. DH took his second dose of meds at 10:00, by 10:45 he was awake, sweating and shortness of breath. After a phone call or two off to the local ER...which I wouldn't take Izzy to to trim her nails. Our doc insisted we go there as closest and he was either having heart attack or allergic reaction. We sat in that room....after the triage....for 45 minutes before a doc came in. I was so ticked. They had to do a complete cardiac study on top of treat "reaction to meds" issues just in case. Heart is fine, gave a large boulos of benedryl and an anti-inflamatory and to see ORTHO first thing Monday. We got home about 3:30 a.m. he is better this morning but we are leaving now to take Shane back to school.

Shane is having a super bowl party int he dorms.....so he is happy to be going back. Right now, I am happy he is! lol Don't ask me in two hours.

I need a nap!

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Big sigh, does it never end for you Debbie..how you get through these trauma's is beyond me! No wonder you need a rest...not to come for awhile because you've still a few hours
On the road if you are drive g Shane back..am sure both you and Paul will miss the Super Bowl as you'll both be dozing off

Sorry I haven't been chatting for a while. On Saturday, January 28 I woke with pain in my left leg. as the day progresses it got very swollen and finally I called my son and had him take me to the little hospital emergency room. They took one look at the leg and then removed my sock! All the toes were black and they could not get a pulse in the foot or lower leg. They Life Flighted me up to Toledo Hospital and there I stayed for the better part of this past week.
The said I had a blood clot in the left leg and gave me heparin while I was flying up to Toledo and it was some better by the time I got there. On Monday they did a new procedure on my leg. They go in behind the knee and put in a tube to run the medicine through. It has ultrasound waves, too, and the ultrasound makes the blood porous and the medicine dissolves the blood clot. They left the tube in for 24 hours and then removed it and the clot was gone!. But 5 days in ICU on bed rest will drive you up a wall!. Came home on Thursday since I was willing to give myself some of the shots I needed to take until the blood thinner medication takes effect. I have a pressure stocking on the left leg and they are checking my blood daily. Will be on the blood thinners for at least 6 months.

I have always been a very healthy person and I came through the cancer with flying colors so i just wasn't prepared for this. I really got a healthy dose of mortality. Even now that I am home I don't feel just "right".
I have just been laying around and haven't touched the sewing machine. Not like me. Hope things get back to normal soon.

Barb....My daughter is the one planning our family outing this year and she wants to go to the White Mountains in New Hampshire the end of Sept. I know you are in NH and wondered if you had any suggestions of places to go and things to do. We will try and rent a house for all of us (about 9 of us in 5 families). When do you get good color up there? Is end of September too late? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated and of course I will expect you to give me a list of all the good quilt shops in the area.

Time for shots and medicine so must close but thinking of you all.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg Janice, my hert just topped!! What a scare for you and your family..bet all were frantic.does sound like you were in good hands. Do you have someone staying with you?
Talk about shock..it was nice to see you say you beat the cancer with flying colors..that sewing can wait until you feel better.. Resting is in order Janice..perhaps you can just sit and plan projects..sending hugs and prayers..hi to Tracey!!

oh Debbie - definitely Not good news... must be painful?!?!

As for job - the Lord will take care of me. In a funny way, I've told elders in our Church it would be a blessing if I Weren't working, as I could do so much more for the Church...
Also, one of the project managers at work seems to think that my job is all administrative overhead, and not charged to projects. Well, I have to tell him, ALL my work is charged to projects (3 of them), so I'm Not a "drain" on the company!! I guess that's why he's not getting me to do project work - he thinks I'm simply an Admin Assistant when in actual fact, everything I do is to be project related!!
Anyway, I'll find out Friday or before. The company is "famous" for waiting until 11:59 (figuratively speaking) to make a decision. If I don't get the job, hopefully I will get one that will respect the fact that I can offer SO much more than they're asking of me...

I'd best get back to working on the Church library stuff...

Dragon you mentioned Toledo. I'm from Elyria, Loraine and Oberlin. I was reading this thing on the Yahoo home page and it said Toledo was voted one of the top 10 worst placed to live right now. Made me sad. I know Ohio was hard hit in the economy as is the area I live in.

I love both stained glasses B. I like the blues in both of them.

One day I want to learn to do that. I love stained glass.

I did some WS of Cantelope, zuccs, watermellon in boxes, with windows protecting them on the South side of the house. I'm going to try this because I don't have an area yet that I can block the rabbits from getting to. I also planted Petunias and a strawberry plant in my broke down compost mix, in a plastic bin that has a plexi glass cover over it. I want to see if that works because I threw a lot of cantelopes in the mix last year in late summer and a lot of cantelopes grew, even thought they had been in the fridge so they must need stratifying since they still grew. So I thought that would be a good protected and fertile area to try to WS in.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All !

Lady Dragon... so glad you got to help quickly and they discovered the problem.
Hello Dawn - you planting already ?
Debbie it never stops huh.... ((HUGS)) you need a break.

Yes Betty - Dianne.... I did like the young man... I know he is older than DH would like but DSD2 is a good girl for all the attitude she gives and I could tell he was trying hard to impress... and the fact that he put him self in the position of approaching us....having dinner. you could tell he was nervous. Only thing that puts me off is when they try to "talk big" but I chalk it up to the nervousness and my DS probably does the same when He is with GF's Dad....

Dreary day... Didn't do much just study a bit on a project I want to try... Dianne... wish you could come visit me... it was cool today but still very warm weather much more than the norm.

My back yard is green and looks like Spring is here...

((HUGS))

Janice - I could not believe how quickly that blood clot did this - truly scary stuff!! So glad you had family around to get you to the hospital and they looked after you so well at the hospitals! Air Lifted, eh? If you weren't so scared, it might have been an exciting trip, I guess.......... SO Glad the clot's gone!!!!! Bless you, Janice.........

On another note - here's a mind twister for all of you:

Aristotle said, each word must have one meaning and only one. That is why the Hellenic language has over 87 million words.
English language has less than one million words, that is why many words have so many meanings.
Christo
ENGLISH EASY?

I think a retired English teacher was bored.
THIS IS GREAT! Read all the way to the end....
This took a lot of work to put together!
You think English is easy??

1) The bandage was wound around the wound.

2) The farm was used to produce produce.

3) The dump was so full that it had to refuse more refuse.

4) We must polish the Polish furniture.

5) He could lead if he would get the lead out.

6) The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert.

7) Since there is no time like the present, he thought it was time to present the present.

8) A bass was painted on the head of the bass drum.

9) When shot at, the dove dove into the bushes.

10) I did not object to the object.

11) The insurance was invalid for the invalid.

12) There was a row among the oarsmen about how to row.

13) They were too close to the door to close it.

14) The buck does funny things when the does are present.

15) A seamstress and a sewer fell down into a sewer line.

16) To help with planting, the farmer taught his sow to sow.

17) The wind was too strong to wind the sail.

18) Upon seeing the tear in the painting I shed a tear.

19) I had to subject the subject to a series of tests.

20) How can I intimate this to my most intimate friend?

Let's face it -- English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant, nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren't invented in England or French fries in France . Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat. We take English for granted. But if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.

And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth, beeth? One goose, 2 geese. So one moose, 2 meese? One index, 2 indices? Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend? If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it?

If teachers taught, why didn't preachers praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? Sometimes I think all the English speakers should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane. In what language do people recite at a play and play at a recital? Ship by truck and send cargo by ship? Have noses that run and feet that smell?

How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites? You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out and in which an alarm goes off by going on.

English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race, which, of course, is not a race at all. That is why, when the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible.

PS. - Why doesn't 'Buick' rhyme with 'quick'?

Baton Rouge, LA

Susan... THAT is excellent ! LOVE IT !

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all,

Ahhh made it to the night shift, eyes are heavy so quick post and off to bed!

Enjoyed the posting Susan..hmmm those are questions to ponder aren't they..at the Valentines Day Tea a woman at my table who after about 2 minutes I just knew she wouldn't become a friend of mine made a point putting down locals for lack of spelling..potato vs potatoes, harbor vs Harbour...Canadian and USA versions..went on about her lasagna beds, does not approve of humans destroying the eath by using shovels in the ground...wasn't long in my doing table hopping Lol

Mary I do think it's from being nervous, kudos to you for making him feel comfortable in your home..not an easy thing to do is this 'meet the parents'. Dreaded meeting Roger's..experience showed me why! (big grin)

Dawn, I also listened to a newscast on worse cities right now to live in...drats can't remember #1 for the life of me..know Miami and Detroit were right up there..

Wow Dawn, I'm envious of your even attempting some planting..is this much earlier than normal. You've worked hard on your gardens..could you use live traps for the critters? You have wide open property in front of you do you not, or am I not remembering correctly!

Got a call earlier from Kyle and Greg as they were driving home from their skidoo trip..seems both enjoyed their snowmobile trip and were on their way home..thought why not pick up some spaghetti sauce seeing as both weren't thrilled with what Melody cooked..as I ladled sauce into a container for him he kept saying is that all?? Gee whiz for all he took I should have kept a small container for me and give him the pot..did biscuits, 1/2 went with him..saw him eye the banana cream pie, said no you don't..some people's kids. Lol

Debbie how did your Super Bowl party go..

Night night everyone..

Lyndonville, NY

We made too much and ate too much, but it was a good time. After we got home from the college and got things ready....it was rest and relaxation. Some fun and laughs.....and my girls.

Betty, the girls are fighting over my blanket, and now they want to try and make one! LOL

Baton Rouge, LA

((HUGS)) LOL... well Betty needs to do a "Quilt" lesson for us all !

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, thought maybe it was storming out there, winds were howling..nope, no snow!
Coffee, chocolate cookies, butter tarts and banana cream pie awaits you...please help me out by eating them because if you don't guess who will have to??

Could have easily gotten up at 4:30 but told myself with working from home this week id best take advantage of sleeping in, so 6:00 am it was but only because Sailor needed out.

Crazy dreams ..

Too funny, yesterday I was thinking how sad it was that I so wanted that little travel trailer and it's almost 2 years and never used it once..then with working on stained glass all weekend I combined them both..

Was away travelling, couldn't find where I was going, visiting my girlfriend in Ireland. Lol not sure how I thought I'd get across the ocean, was pulling the trailer and behind the trailer I had on a blanket my stained glass piece..car was overheating, stopped at garage, ventured out on the highway only to find the sheet with the glass was gone.. Amazing what our minds come up with when we sleep.

Debbie bet you will be on the telephone by 9am hoping that Paul can get in with the specialist..so the girls like your blanket?? Now you really need to get your passport, come over for a weekend with them and I'll show you all how..call it a sewing retreat!

Forgot to tell you, Noah called me yesterday to tell me that Greg and Melody drove him to the city Saturday for Joyride150..could tell me enough about it..they also took a friend along with them..awesome came out several times..couldn't thank me enough for the pass.
Said he was 6 hours and was feeling it..lots of high energy jumps with the tricks..

Reminded him again that I'll take him on the 25th providing no storm or birthday celebrations. Melanie had thought with Greg leaving for Nefoundland snowmobiling (about 24 hr drive and 6 hr ferry ride) snowmobiling that she would take the boys away so we'll do the wait and see.

Time to get the computers upstairs and downstairs on work system, not expecting to have many calls so I can play...was going to put the stained glass tools away today and sew but figure I might as well play one more day with them as I have to clean craft room as all the girls are coming tomorrow for a late Christmas luncheon seeing I'm home..

Coffee calling

Hope you all had a nice weekend

OMG, had to call a girlfriend to call me on work # just to make sure it was operational..no calls

In the meantime am working on a window piece for me, sorry now I didn't buy the bevels when I bought the globs hmmm can't remember if its this week the shop is closed or next

guess I'll give Gail a call and if open will take a run at 4:30 when I finish my shift

Good Morning everyone!

I don't remember who asked, but yes we went out Friday, stayed home Saturday, and went out to watch the Super Bowl and eat duck gumbo and chili dogs yesterday. mmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmm

I think the cigarette smoke in these bars is starting to get to me, which seriously isn't good.

Dave should be getting his car this week so that will break the bank. At the same time I'm excited about getting it.

OMG Janice!! So sad it wasn't any worse. I'm having shortness of breath issues, I'm not having a problem breathing but I can't hold a note to a song that I've been singing all weekend like I could two weeks ago. Guess I should get that checked out but I'm wondering if it's leftovers from when I had Bronchitis then a month later Pneumonia and Advair would help.

Debbie I'm so sorry about Paul's elbow! Hope he's ok, dang you guys just keep getting hit one right after the other, at some point in time that dark cloud has to remove itself. I just don't get it! LOL Shane wanting pizza when he got home, too cute. Did you all get to have your Super Bowl party?

Dawn and Susan and anyone else who is interested... Betty you might notice that Memphis is #3 here. Here's a link to the Most Miserable Cities to Live In list:

Yikes, Crissy............ These are pretty scary statistics re: moving from cities...... Where are they moving TO, I wonder.

btw - I found out on Friday Why I'm not getting much work to do, from the Project Manager - he thinks I'm a receptionist. He said "You're paid by the company overhead, not the project, so you're costing the company and we don't get reimbursed". In fact, it's quite the opposite....... I spoke to him, and then to the Operations Director this am, and as the Director said, he should have been Giving Me Work as apparently it was free LOL
Well, we shall see what the end of the week brings. Hopefully I will now get work to do cuz the company is billing the Projects for the work I'm "not" doing lol

Omg sunshine is coming through the living room window and feels so good, guess not as good as if I were in Jamaica with everyone else..but I'm loving it.

Wouldn't you know Ann came to visit, made her a tea and put out some of the sweet i was trying to pond off to you) and telephone wouldn't stop ringing.

Crissy what kind of vehicle did Dave finally get?

Be back in sec

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Susan I didn't read the articles, I just looked at the list.

Never fails does it Betty! He got a Honda Civic Coupe

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ohh cheap on gas..there you go, not a big expense to drive to Canada!

With your breathing Criisy you should not be in smoky bars...am sure they are fun but not at the expense of your health!

Glad you enjoyed the weekend Crissy

Was just on the phone with Jeff Susan, wanted to know if the memory stick arrived?

Ohh let's hope by Friday notice of full time employment comes in..imagine not knowing something like that

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Nope, memory stick hasn't arrived yet. Just spoke to Bob & he said I got a block from Barb though!

Still no news on the job however........ S'funny - the Project Manager got a "gentle reminder" from Jocelyn (Montreal) to take an employee pic of me. Guess she doesn't know that I haven't been "hired" yet. Paris STILL hasn't approved the job - John checked this aft, and there's no change on the site. As soon as Paris clicks "approved" it updates on the site.

Well, I am back home, waiting on coffee to get done, then get something to eat. I wil, catch up on the post's in a bit. Shower went well, she got all the gifts and cash for the nursery.

mulege, Mexico

I'm still at the internet cafe. My niece's trip got cancelled at the last minute. Luckily, I checked my emial as I was leaving town - and turned around and went back home. Have been sorting and organizing. Got rid of several boxes of books, some to Tony, some for Goodwill. Also lots of fabric and craft stuff still going to Tony's family. Meanwhle, Tony has painted about half of the living room wall. I did major cleanup to help him continue tomorrow. The wall needs to be cleaned, sealed, then painted. I moved furniture and swept up a lot of dust. The down side of living in a desert.

Several of our citrus trees are blooming and our weather is warming up a bit. I should be planting seeds but we're taking a break from gardening to finish up some of the house projects. Things are so chaoticnow that if I don't focus on organization things will just get put here and there and I'll be almost back where I started. I am exercising what little self-discipline I have to get things in some order. Still recovering from the messes made by a former friend whom I had move in with me a few years ago whenshe was having a hard time. What as disaster that was. I'm still finding things in totally weird places. I call the process "de-Karening" the house. I'll be glad to be done with that task.

We have one wll in one bedroom to be brown bagged, then it's just little bits here and there, curtains to make, etc. And we can get back to the garden.

My knee has been quite swollen and I need to call to make the appointment for the replacement surgery. When I get my puter fixed. One step at a time. Thank God for pain killers that keep things at a level where I am able to continue to get some work done.

My right arm is still not as it should be. Don't know if it's some better or if I'm just adapting to the limitations. Betty, how is yours?

Thinking good thoughts and prayers for all of you.

hugs, katie

Baton Rouge, LA

Hugs Katie!... Sounds like you have your plan set out to do..... LK so glad Heather got what she needed!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning friends - Sure is quiet here the last couple of days. I know i've been busy for sure. We are still continuing with our weekend purging. This past weekend we did the closet in the office. Put in a set of shelves and got all the office stuff in there and organized. Now when we want an envelope, we know where it is or a pad of paper or a file folder. We had this stuff all over!!! Then we did the laundry area and the linen closet. Boy Planet Earth got a LOT of old towels, wash cloths etc. We are adding to the yard sale box as we go along. Our town has a town wide sale in May. The rest was either trash or if still good but not saleable it went to the swap shop.
Norm moved the tables around in my sewing room for me too. Now I have a bit more managable area in which to maneuver. The room looks more spacious. We also got the foam board supports in for the softside underbed storage for my fabrics. No more going up and down stairs to find the piece I want. Now I just pull a tote out from under the bed. Only problem is we put four totes under there and I forgot to write what is in each and where each is located. So it will still be an expedition of one kind or another!!!!
I got to play with some old jelly jar blocks that I had made YEARS ago. Finding stuff you forgot about can be fun. The applique was very primitive but I think it came out cute. Just need to layer and quilt it.
I'm off to clean up my kitchen. Hope you all have a wonderful day........
