((((((Dianne & Warren))))))) Hopefully the pork roast tempts him to eat. I know that it's difficult to get back to eating when you've "lost the habit".
((((((((Betty))))))))) I certainly hope the Dr can find out why you're having these headaches.....
Robbie Burns - well, got the cherry cobbler made (3 of 9x13 cake pans) and two kinds of oatmeal cakes/cookies.
Was at the church until 11:30 cleaning, and after service today I washed dishes. Left my guldurn watch on the counter so will need to retrieve it lol
We have Movie Night coming up - Amazing Grace, the true story of how it came to be - with Albert Finney.
My Amaryllis bloomed!!
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Chat with friends....
Is that all LK???? I'll be down for supper! lol
Really windy here today, even though it is 71*. Suppose to be nice Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri. Hope to get some horseback riding in. Went yesterday even though it was 35* (yup, 35 yesterday and 71 today!). Was very pleasant heading West but when I started to go East back home the cold wind HIT me in the face. Couldn't wait to get home! Glad I didn't go any further West! ^_^
Watching the playoffs. Who are you all for? I'm not a fan of the Ravens but since the Pats have won several I'd like to see them go. Ravens and Giants for the Superbow. I would root for the GIANTS there!
Well, must check more threads.
Later,..........
OH .... don't forget sign-ups for the Valentine's Swap are still open!

Ohhh love the amaryllis Susan..could just cry that I forgot mine outside this fall..same color as yours..just spectacular. Your watch is at the church so same place you are going for movies right? You sure put a trememdous amount of effort into all the events at the church..are you feeling a little less 'teary'?
Crit, loved horseback riding when I was hunger, then found the bouncing with bad kidneys wasn't for me..Diane always wants me to go riding with she and the girls, the passofino horses have such a different gait..does temp often chance so drastically..is it also an unusual winter for you?
Tonight Shirley and Bev are both in my thoughts...look forward to when they can drop in to update us!
Thea, are you also lost in your sewing room?
Should go downstairs and do a few more pieces..if I had a few more hours likely the insert piece would be done then on to the outer edge..but not tonight. I will though have to clean the tables tomorrow night as all the girls are coming on Tuesday..
Just watched the "wedding Date" which I've watched at least a dozen times but still watch when on..
Betty I think that is just so pretty.
Crit I miss riding but has been so long that if I tried I would not be able to walk for days.
Ravens lost.......that is all I am going to say :(
Betty, that is coming along so nice! What is the black thing on the window sill?
Wish I knew more about football ..from the sounds of it Laura your team did not win..
A book, once it's done, soldered and patina done it will likely be more visible.
Almost feel like a queen, propped up in bed, fireplace on, surrounded by furries...iPad entertaining me between scrabble and crosswords..hoping to soon close my eyes..
Weekends sure have a way of passing all too quickly
But what an incredible game it was Laura. It kept me on the edge of my rocker all through it.
Betty, do you have scrabble free on your iPad? If so, I sent you a request for a game.
Hello To All ;
LK - somehow now I have the IPAD.... I can play *our* scrabble game on there....same game as on my phone....
it's nice because I really can't see up close anymore... and so letters are larger....
Sorry about your team Laura. DH would usually be watching... suppose he and Louisiana are still smarting about both teams losing. very unlike him not to have it on.
Crit- my youngest is "into" riding. Prob haven't been on a horse myself since I was 10... but it will be one of the excursions we will do at Disney in May ... DSD2 has always wanted us to ride together. Hopefully they have a VERY Slow mule for me.... LOL
Susan - you've been cooking up a storm ! your amaryllis is so pretty... we have some outside... just about 4" of leaves about now.
Mild winter...we're seeing signs of spring ...our day must have been like yours Thunder. DH keeps telling me though NOT a good thing... Wow Betty - you've accomplished so much this weekend !
I'll pop back in a bit...
(HUGS)
Mary
Lovely work you're doing on your stained glass, Betty! I used to want to do stained glass, but now I leave it to more expert hands :-)
I'm a little less teary, yes - but mostly because I haven't had Dmitriy to contend with at home lol
Also, too tired from weekend to be teary-eyed!
I surely Do Not put as much effort in as one of the UCW ladies and her daughter. They put the rest of us to shame. Mary's in her 80's and was at the church at 8am Saturday, ate at the supper, and didn't leave until 11:30pm.
Her daughter Judy, same age as me, was there, too (not all the time that Mary was) and she wasn't feeling well at all.
I told Mary that I'm not good with crowds in the kitchen, but if she doesn't have enough helpers she should Definitely Call Me! I was lazy at home during the day, and only started helping in the kitchen at 5:30pm.........
So you see, Betty - I could have done a lot more. There just aren't enough people to volunteer...........
Betty, I keep forgetting to tell you how lovely that glass piece is !!! now get it done...so you can do the big bird!!!! LOL
crazy weather every where!! freezing a few days ago, and tomorrow supposed to be over 80 *
now that is my kinda weather!!
got a surprise skype from the Sailor today !! he informed us he is going to propose !!!!
she is a very nice girl :) but I am a little worried they are jumping in a bit fast !!?? they dated a few times, went separate ways, got together again for a few friendly outings...went separate ways again.....well they got together again when he was home for Christmas.....and then she went up to SC to see him after his graduation, spent a few nights there.......she told him she was a fool to have ever let him go.....they talked about what life would be like with him in the Navy, If he gets Submarine duty he will be gone 3-4 months at a time, longer if he gets put on an aircraft carrier.....she says she can live with that!!???
I do know he sure was very Happy when he was with her......she does have experience with "Navy life" her (step) dad was in the Navy, so she knows what it was like to move a few times, and have him not be around from time to time...... but it will be different with it being her husband....
seems like they have talked over a lot of possibilities, and I do understand "love at first sight" as it happened to me !! and we are still going strong 37 years later :) I had a feeling it was coming, but I still think I am a bit in shock!!!
hope Y'all are having a good night,
Dianne tell Santa I said sweet dreams..
hugs to all
Morning all, the roads look icy, might have got a touch of freezing rain..of coure guess who didn't switch the telephones? Guess I was still angry about the girls..lol. So I will start out and if too bad will just come home.
Believe in love at first sight as well thunder, first outing with Roger we went for a ride, ended up looking at homes we both liked. Lol congrats to them both..now you have a wedding to help plan! Enjoy that Florida sunshine..
Susan I think you don't give yourself enough credit, perhaps Mary and her mom do not work a full time job..as Recreation Coordinator who worked along many of the organization and min icipal functions I know the value of volunteers and how they are under appreciated..actually had Christmas dinner & dance for all within the municipality who volunteered on ongoing projects/events. Anywhere between 200-250
LindaKay, will try to figure how to link up re scrabble
Barb yes it was "the edge of your seat" game.
Oh well there is next year.
Thunder congratulations. Sounds like they really want to get married.
Gotta get kids off to school.
bbl
Betty, go to your applications, do a search for scrabble free, and then click download. It is a free program, once you have it downloaded you should have a request waiting for you. You may have to click on connect with Facebook?
Morning everyone! Betty, please be careful if you have to drive today.
Thunder, congrats on the up coming proposal. Will you be sewing the dresses?

LindaKay I have Scrabble already download, think it's a program that I bought, opening now, says create a new acct.
don't know..think I'm on lol
Betty do you have Facebook?
That is where I play.
Did you get to work ok?
On my i-pad it asked that I register for the facebook acct. I'm on there with someone called Jean, not sure how I find someone I want to play with or if it's random..I did put LindaKay's e-mail addy in..so high tech..lol
No I won't be making dresses...
they will most likely want something small and simple, He even spoke of doing something with JP for now, and a larger ceremony at a later date, we told him if he was thinking that way he could actually forgo the big ceremony, and just have a "reception".....of course we don't know if her or her family will want the "big to do "
hope it was a safe ride for you Betty....Ice really scares me!!!!!!
Darlene called a bit ago, was freezing rain up home..pouring rain here, poor snowmobilers!
Roads were fine when I came in, driveway a bit dicy but just had to watch walking.
Quiet weddings are also nice..all that money spent on hoopla, so much todo..more intimate I'd say.
We had a small wedding. The kids out numbered the grown-ups.
Had a local icecream shop called Brewsters come out and make sundaes for the kids.
We had a great time with close family and saved a ton of money.
well with him in SC, she may just hop on up there and go to the local courthouse??? depending on what the Navy has to offer for housing, or if they have to find a place off post?? and she has a lease on apt here, ends in may. and then there is CJ to consider and school......yes she has a son....so I will be getting a daughter, and a grandson!!! He and Kyle get on well, I have actually never met him.
sounds like a great time Laura!! we renewed our vows for our 25th, had a ceremony with a JP on the beach!! it was fantastic ^_^
We had a surprise wedding in that the people coming did not even know it was our wedding reception. We had a grand time once we told everyone - we waited until everyone was at our house before Warren told them what the party was really for...... It was also my BD so Warren called everyone up and said there was a party at hour house and it was a bit of a surprise. They all thought the party was a surprise for my BD.
Everyone had an outstanding time!
OMG what great ways of having a wedding. Dianne how cool was that???? smilling from ear to ear here..
Mine happened in an unexpected blizzard, I had just got out of hospital after 6 months, had to take naps throughout the day, too ill to go for a honeymoon so just went to my grandmother's house, where I was raised, stayed there while they were all in the city celebration..because of the storm we got back to the city with the party still going on..
Betty, the stained glass is looking really good. The neighbor in the condo of a guy I dated use to put her stained glass pattern in the bottom of a bucket, then put concrete on top of that and let it set up. When she turned it out she had a stained glass stepping stone. They were soooo pretty! Don't know the particulars of how to do it, but that is in a nutshell.
thunder, how exciting. How old is your new grandson? We had an outside wedding the end of April. Was a little cool and the wind was blowing, but it wasn't unbearable. A girl I worked with has a pretty pond that they keep mowed around and she offered that to us. We rented a gazebo and set up chairs in the grass. It was really nice.
I have ridden horses since I was a little girl. I didn't have one for 25 years because my ex said 'they eat the grass the cows could have and don't make us any money!' That was always his deal, anything had to make us money. So, as soon as I wanted a divorce, he suggested we buy 2 horses. Well, we did, divorced anyway and I have had horses ever since. Riding is good for my back where I had surgery several years ago (L4, L5, S1) with rods and screws. It is good for building and maintaining the core muscles that we all need to be strong, because of having to set and keep yourself upright. Besides, it's a good excuse to have a horse! lol And of course, that horse needs a pasture mate! And of course you have to have a donkey to help protect the horses from coyotes and the sort. LMBO Sounds good on paper, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
This is Babe
that is really cool Dianne !!! ^_^
Crit, I have hexagon/circle and square molds to make the stained glass stepping stones..use up a lot of left over glass pieces.. have some beauties in my yard..have a few books on designs as well..see, you should visit, could be making rhubbarb leaf walking stones and stained glass stones..you know, I never take them in during winter months and never a problem
Babe is gorgeous..
Betty if you go from New Orleans, to Branson, to Memphis and you'll pass right by my house going up I-30 to I-40 and keep going North til you get to Branson. I sooooo wish you would ditch Memphis and give Hot Springs a try, you would LOVE LOVE LOVE it, and yes the food is just as good, you don't have to BE in Memphis to get great Memphis BBQ!
I know the Home Depot reopened a couple weeks ago but as far as that I don't know, need to go back up there but I can't stay at their house so I'm trying to find a way to avoid that.
Debbie I love New Balance, that's the only brand I'll buy. As for the shoe warehouse, look out, stilettos all over the place! The do have flats and other shoes too, but mostly high heeled dress shoes and boots.
LK how far are you from Mission, TX? I have some neighbors from Buffalo who live there, here, and in Mission TX, depending upon the time of year. LOL
Thunder to me it sounds like they've had their issues and talked through it and they both know what they're looking for, and forward to, both good and bad. I'm ecstatic for you, DH, your son, and her, and her son!!!
We got married in Tahoe on the CA/NV state line in Caesar's Hotel/Casino Tahoe, OMG gorgeous!! Our bachelorette and bachelor parties were held together in the restaurant where we had our reception, Cabo Wabo, an absolute blast. We had an adult only 40ppl invited wedding and reception with a package at the casino's chapel, all showed up, the whole ceremony lasted about 20 minutes and the whole thing, food, dress, wedding ceremony package, flowers, and cake cost us about $5,000. We asked for money for our honeymoon in lieu of gifts, raised enough money to pay for a week in Maui!
My eldest sister called my parents and other family to their home, and told them to get dressed up for dinner.
When everyone arrived, they were told it was a wedding - hers and Leo's - they were in their 40's and had an apartment together. It was so startling to everyone.
Later on my sister gave me her wedding dress - a lovely blue floral street dress. I still have it to this day, almost 30 years ago.
Crissy, Mission Texas is about 6 hours southeast from here! They are really down south!
Quite something how all married or had marriages in the family that were not traditional..like it better!
Few minutes and homeward bound..can tell you now it will be walk in, feed the furries, hot bath and a lay down..now that is getting to be boring!
Hubby and I got married in our front year, with a JP, then went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner after. very simple!
your front yard, LK?
Yep, in the front yard with a few friends. That's all it takes!
Norm and I were married at a castle and the reception was held at a hall named Camelot!!! It was amazing. My maid-of-honor surprised us with a bagpiper! He strolled around playing while we had the reception line there at the castle....26 yrs ago!!!
Edited bacause I can't spell!!!!
