Betty yes we did go out last night, Dave didn't want to wait for me to get home so he got there at 4:30pm, I got there at 6:30pm. I'm cutting back on my food and I was STARVING!!! They have really good food at the bar, and it's funny, I've known the manager for 4 1/2 years, Dave's known him 5 1/2 years, and of course my bartender friend, plus I made amends with the waitress I almost got into a fight with last week, and had a half rack award winning Memphis style BBQ ribs and jumbo fried shrimp, twice baked potato salad, BBQ beans, and toast for $15.00. There was so much food I split it 3 ways, myself, Dave, and our friend Johnny and we were all full. Then the manager decides to bring out a basket full of bacon cheese fries made with these season fries Dave requested last Saturday, OMG AWESOME!!!! I probably gained the 2lbs I had lost over the week, oh well.

We're going to spend the day at home and told everyone we will not be out until tomorrow night, the SF49ers play the NY Giants, whoever wins this game will go to the Superbowl so its big for us, we're going to be dressed in all of our SF 49er getup LOL!! I'm going to be tired at work on Monday!

BEV!! So glad you dropped a line, I'm so sorry Scotty isn't doing well.

Glad you enjoyed yourself Crissy..you just had to say Memphis B.B.Q. ribs right..mouth watering ..here I have to settle for homemade stew..no fun! You will indeed be tired Monday but a good tired and a smile from ear to ear!

Oh Bev, did Scotty have the proceedure and it did not go well??? You must be beside yourself.

DH has dragged me all over Rochester today, trying to find some new shoes. Not having much luck. Sent me to a "specialty" store and well, they were not very special in my book. They had the "perfect shoe" but it was only perfect for ME if I took the insert out and paid $45 for a special insert. No thanks!

I have been up since the crack of dawn, no nap yet. We have a slight snow blowing...."The child" has gone to the boyfriends familys house for the weekend (Praise the Lord and pray for them). She and DH had a slight tift....DH was 100% right...and she needs a big wake up call.

NO news from Shane! And Mary...No he is NOT friends with me on FB, as I will be in his "business", and I don't need to know his business. Little brat!

Bev, lots of prayers for Scotty! Tell him we are sending hugs if he behaves and minds the doctors and nurses....and doesn't get you upset!

Ahhh so you will undertake making a rag quilt? Good for you Debbie..will have to see what I have here that might ell you on your way?.as for the rag quilt you see ou could put it in the category of "coat of many colors" bald leftover for other rag quilts.. I'm sure my friend will know it was made with love and not see the flaws. Lol

Kyle just called, wanted to know if I wanted pathways and decks shovel led and did I have anything to go in back shed?? I had to smile, know where he was coming from lol..running out of gas money for his snowmobile. Told me he was out with his dad , my brother Mike today for 7 hours..can Maine his tank is empty..don't just give them money, must earn it..in their eyes at least, yo know me, they do 10 minutes work anfpd get 2 hrs pay. Said he'd be here in the morning.

Mary, I have sent two pairs of New Balance back to the store. There is a cloth ridge at the base of the tongue....and it folds/flops and hurts your foot after a few minutes. Even looked to see if it could be trimmed off...but no. One pair...was perfect, but made of mesh....and you just can't do mesh shoes in the winter! We have gone to several specialty stores, no go! Will keep looking and might just end up going to DSW shoe warehouse. (according to DS DSW stands for Dead Sexy Women as thats whats in there when he goes).

Apparently since going to college....DS has also unfriended his sisters. Yep, he is "breaking the ties" I guess. As I said to someone else, he will show up when he needs money...or a care package of something!

Well, here it is 9:45 and DH is passed out cold in the recliner....and I am ready for bed. Never got my nap in...and am falling asleep at the computer. Afraid if I go to bed will be up and wide awake at midnight!

I think we are lucky he brings them to the house but Hubs does not seem very welcoming with them. His whole relationship with DS is not very good... I have put that aside for years... maybe it is time I deal with that....

Suse, how are you and Moses doing? I have to tell you, I almost got in a fight at a Barnes and Noble with some teenagers. You would have been proud of me. A woman with her service dog was in there, and she "parked" the dog (who was quite elderly) near a isle area and walked away with someone. Well these teens (Old enough to know better) saw the dog and bee-lined right for it. I just politely said "please do not touch her, she is working" They got all "huffy..can do what they want" and I gave them another verbal warning that she could get in trouble from her owner if she didn't listen...and they didn't want that. I just explained to them they had to ask her "Mom" if it was OK first. Turns out...inner city kids, never get to see a dog....and just wanted to pet her. When the owner came back...she was great with them and did let them touch just her head. The lady then said to me "Thank you, can you believe I have had people try and walk off with her ...its amazing!"

Mary, I wonder if your DH is jealous of your DS? My DH was that way for awhile with my older two....its the flip side of your DSDs. BUT with a boy...I think it is harder. Boys just bond so different with their Moms, protective and otherwise. Maybe DH is jealous of that?

Barb, how you doing? Was thinking of you yesterday as there was a HUGE line at Timmy Ho's and I just knew you and Norm needed a cup of coffee and a donut!

Kudos to you Deb! Very many people would not have said anything. Interesting... I ran into the same lady twice last week in different parts of the city... she has a service dog and he wears a vest that says something to the effect of "I am working please do not pet me".....

in a town this size was odd that I'd see the same person across town like that....

Mary, did I not tape a cup hook on the styro your piece was shipped on? That piece is too heavy for a suction cup - you need to either put the cup hook or a 1 in. nail into the wood around the wondow and hang it down from that.

Been a rough 2 days and nights here - DH hasn't been this bad for quite awhile. Sort of threw us both for a loop as he can usually manage to get up for a few hours every day. Fortunately for him he doesn't often wake up in the nights when he starts to wheeze or have shortness of breath. I can reposition him on his pillows and not wake him.Last night though he needed his rescue inhaler and another med to get him through the nights so he had to wake up for that. I try to use the hours that he is sleeping to keep on top of the house work. I really do need to hire a cleaning lady. I know Shirley can attest to how much or little you can get done during the waking hours.

No snow today but no sun either. I'm just happy it is not raining.

Afternoon all, here I lay on the couch resting my head..another hot bath as I couldn't warm up,(I must be the cleanest person in town ) I've enough stew for today and tomorrow so not much I have to do other than rest...sure hate to set that piece aside as who knows how many years before I touch it again if i do... oh well!, what can one do..maybe I'll get energetic later..have Riley at my feet, missy trying to snuggle beside me..lazzzy day..

Ann had her first outing since she's been ill, glad I made muffins, something to offer her with her tea. Then I called Darlene, she was having a bad day..then made a point if calling Cathy..she had been under the weather then had bad news, her BIL was snowmobiling with about eigh others last week, one being his 37 year old brother..the brother hit a land barrier, was thrown from the machine..on life support..taking him off tomorrow..2young boys under 10..traggic.

I am once again cleaning up the sewing room !!! have some projects to get to, and there is too much of a mess to do so!! I think there are bits and pieces of the last five projects........here, there and every where ^_^

always just amazes me how much of a mess I can make, cutting and sewing bits and pieces :)

When Jean moves to FL we will be pretty close, and then there is Marion, and Stu...and Mittsy :)

Don't know the temp. but I have all the windows open !! Had coffee outside sitting in the sunshine. sure felt good !! Snow is so very pretty, butttttt I sure don't like the cold, and driving in it really sucks!! hope all you northerners are staying warm.

Thunder I always make a mess looking for fabric pulling this and that and seems takes all day to clean-up and no project done.

How wonderful to be able to have all your windows open and go for a morning walk without bundling up. Mary you would need your furlined shoelaces for sure today if we were going to walk. Yesterday I saw the white rabbit with the dark brown ears when I was out walking. It is gorgeous but not quite as fantastic as the male pheasant I saw. That guy had all of his ruffles and bustles out - guess he was going a courtin.

I am having this terrible feeling that I need to have the house spic and span for when the Visiting Nurse is here. Sort of like washing your hair before you go to the hairdresser. Don't want them to think I keep a dirty home.Am doing everything in my power to keep the house looking like a home rather than a hospital room. I know Warren handles things much better if things are less hospitally (if that is a word).

Katie hope you are feeling better today and that your meds get there SOON.

Almost afraid to say anything but Quill is holding her own. Only a couple of minor seizures this last 2 weeks. Still hasn't lost her appetite!! Quill fits that old saying 'you can call me anything you want except late for dinner." My goodness she loves her food.

Lots of ice huts being used today. Maybe next weekend I will bake a cake or cookies and go out and see who will trade fish for goodies. I am surprised noone hasn't rapped on the door yet offering up a fish or two for trade.

I can't remember if I told you or not that Streak (who is really in my bad books) ate off my pink shamrock that I rescued. I watered it this morning and lo and behold that sturdy shamrock is sprouting again. Now to find a way to keep Streak away from it.

Susan how was Robbie Burns night and dinner?

Going to cook a fresh pork picnic shoulder roast for DH. Doubt if he will eat it but he had asked for it a couple of days ago. He even ventured downstairs and took it out of the freezer. That was quite the excursion for him.

Had a tad of a rest, sitting up watching the closer, like the show..just to early to just lay..will see after I sit a bit if I'm able to do something with my evening!

Thunder,cleaning and organizing in my craft room is a full time job..Monday night I cleaned up the stained glass area, omg you should see it today. Same as cutting, most confined threads etc are downstairs but amazing how they travel.

Dianne, maybe Warren will eat a good meal seeing he's been hungering for pork roast ..yep, hire cleaning lady then clean before she arrives so she doesn't see a mess. Lol
