Betty ....... would love for you to join us. There are 5 so far and I know you know some of them. Since I am the hostess, I can be sure you get someone that doesn't mind sending to Canada. If not though, I understand.

Nothing in the mail today. My computer is still down. So is my telephone. So am I, I guess. I{m just keeping my head down and not looking around. I can barely stand so I can{t so any or the work that should be done. My right shoulder is still weak which further limits me. I{m doing some reading and not much else. If I stay still the pain is not bad but I don{t like to stay still.

Neighbor Dana is in the US visiting relatives for a week or two. Things should be quiet. I{m sad about the confrontation with her husband but glad to stop feeling like he can walk all over me. About the time Dana said He{s my husband and I have to do what he says I decided there wasn{t much left to say. Are we in the 21st century or the 18th.

Punctuation marks are all different on this keyboard.

Glad you are all here. Wish I felt better but I{m hanging in.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Katie, sorry you are in so much pain..lordy,no telephone..when do you think it will be up and running? Glad at least you have access to the cafe to keep in touch..sending you hugs seems we are all having a time of it

mulege, Mexico

Thanks, Betty. It is nice to know I am not alone in this. It really helps. I also know that pain killers are on their way. Situation is frustrating but not life'threatening and the pain is tolerable if I don{t move around much. When it gets bad I just seem to fall asleep so things could certainly be worse. Sometimes it{s hard to be consoled by that thought.

I, too, am sending hugs to everybody.

Try and rest as best you can Katie..I've been playing with a severe headache all morning..thank goodness I brought meds..BUT Suzanne just asked me how come I was still suffering, moved my ipad and there sat the meds..forgot to take them sooo just took them, sure they will mellow me out!

Debbie, bet there are tears about now..hard letting go especially when he's been such a support to you but we have to let them go.

By now I bet you've got a sewing project done Barb and Thea?? anxious to see what you've been working on.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

(((((((((((((((Debbie))))))))))))))
Happy Anniversary, hon!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

how is your day going Susan...45 more minutes and homeward bound..quick stop to Stained Glass studio (if they are open), Hardware store for some Steelwool 000 then staying in for the weekend

hope you get to do something more exciting Susan

Barb/Thea/Thunder, who else quilts ahhh our Judy..just bought a pattern online called feather friends..you know me always willing to share

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Taking a sewing break...well maybe even take a small nap!! lol

Hope you are feeling better soon Katie...hugs coming your way!!

Betty...tonight I will be dreaming of squares!!! lol...I am about half way there with sewing the squares...YAY!!
That pattern sounds interesting...is it about Birds and applique?

After I finish this project, I already have the next one lined up. A friend of my daughters fell down the stairs and broke her back...she is only 21 years old and used to run marathons...so needless to say this is just devastating. My daughter asked me what she could do for her and we came up with the idea of an applique wallhanging...this way she can help too with cutting the pieces and choosing the fabrics. We will wing it with no real pattern but rather chose something from online colouring pages or cartoon.
Sooooooo I will be busy busy...

Barb what are you working on?
Nap timeeeeeeeee...bbl

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY DEBBIE!!!!!!!!!

Barb many many hugs, sorry there seems to be so many issues, so glad you chimed in!

Katie I'm rushing those meds to ya!

Betty they won't work if you don't take them. I hope the migraines you had years ago aren't coming back to haunt you, maybe you do just need a shot. Here, I'll give you a shot lol lol lol lol

LOL Y'all that's hilarious about Dave, no he's not trying to get rid of me, he couldn't make it without me and he knows it, I think that's a big issue, he thinks that he has to be better, smarter, bigger, you all know the scenario. He didn't used to think of marriage as a competition but apparently he does now, he was fine until last May, I never had any problems with him, just the usual man crap that gets on women's nerves. I just need to get him to where he wants to listen, almost had him there last night, so he understand where I'm coming from and he doesn't have to lie to me if he wants to have a man night.

Lexington Park, MD

Oh my goodness been in bed with the bug that is going around....
Storm coming everyone stay safe.
Cold here and windy.
Little man sees heart doctor this next week. I am not convinced it is reflux so we will see.
Finally putting the binding on the last quilt for xmas gift....wow am I late.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, show us the feathered friend quilt please?
Katie, sorry to hear your not feeling well, sure hope those meds hurry and get there.
Laura, sorry your not feeling well either! Sure is a lot of crud going around this year!
Crissy, stay strong, and don't let him treat you like that! tell him he knows where the door is if does not stop!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Laura there is a bad cold creating Pneumonia going around down here, take care of yourself and get well soon!

LK I try to and he just starts yelling, I was so mad the other night I could have packed him a bag and threw it out into the yard. He's already at the bar and it's only 4:52pm, he said that his friend called, every time this man calls Dave jumps like he's hung on a fishhook.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all, will not be a late one, pain in Bach od neck is a dilly, now that I'm home I can fill up on the good stuff. Lol.

Stopped in at hardware, got my steelwool then off to stained glass studio..Dianne you will vouch also that is doesn't take long to whack up a bill..yowzer, for something I don't even want to make! Love picking up the Stained Glass News freebie , always good patterns and tips

LindaKay it's a very simple project, owlin the centre..sometimes you need no brainier projects right?

Laura you certainly are having a time of it...think you had better rest this weekend and give it time to totally clear your body..heard of so many that get it back almost immediately! So glad to hear you are no seeking further help for the little one..poor darling..too be so sick at such a young age.

Crissy, nice to hear the laughter in your post..glad your humor is backu

Thea, wait till you get to the next step...is your daughters friend paralyzed?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy, doll yourself up and off for a good time..make sure you come in after he gets home.drats he is not being nice.

Betty, that is pretty! Something to do in your spare time? LOL!

Betty, you need to call your Dr, and tell him you need a referral to a specialist for those headaches! This has been going on too long. You also need to find out what's wrong with your arm!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Lyndonville, NY

We arrived back home around 6:15 or so. Shane is tucked away at college. Feeling a bit lonely now as his roommates are not due back until
Sunday, but I think that will give him some time to organize and meet others. His friend Kate is up there also, and I am sure they will catch up and she will show him around.

Ended up moving him in, doing grocery & supply shopping, then out to eat....and we left around 4:30. Gave him a hug good-bye and he just looked at me and said "Mom, don't cry" and that did it....I was doing fine until he said that. I think Dad had a few tears also...and I could have sworn when he was walking up the sidewalk....I was seeing my 5 year old going off to kindergarden 13 years ago.

Everyone get some rest.....we have a winter storm moving in again tonight...and I am in dire need of my electric blanket.

THanks so much for your support today....felt all of you with me through out the day!

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ah Debbie, hugs girl,,he is so going to love it and make you proud..how could you not shed a tear..I thought you would have packed an overnight bag and at least spent the weekend. Lol. He is in Rochester right..

Omg woke up the chef vs cook show Debbie and the were at Bone on the Crock Restaurant on Grand Island, .looked amazing..read reviews and they are very mixed, have you heard of it?

Hope storm passes you by...happy cuddling under that blankie!

Off to see if I can sleep

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, coffee is on, sitting here wondering what my day will bring. Looking outside there is o signs of snow but it looks heavy so perhaps the snow they are calling for will arrive. Let Sailor out and within a minute back in she came so I would think its a chilly one ot there.

Off to unpack my stained glass supplies..walked in, set them on the counter when I got home yesterday, straight to couch, slept, then bed and slept..so not very productive..

Filled myself with drugs so we'll see how much energy I have today!

Susan, how did your Robby Burns celebration go? Did you get to have a jig for me?

Lexington Park, MD

Goodmorning to all.
got a mix of a little snow and little ice.
Debbie it is hard to see them grow up but good to see when they head in the right direction.
When I sent my oldest off I went to walmart and bought a bunch of .99 cards. Silly cards really and would pop one in the mail once a week.
She said it would make her smile. Silly........
Going to put beef stew in the crock......bbl

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning Laura, you are up early so am hoping that is a sign you are feeling a tad better..don't overdo...what a great idea about the cards..think now with computers as well it makes it easy to be in daily contact..that has to help! Laura, you've been away a bit, I'm going to e-mail you the link to this summer's gathering incase you missed it.. is the little one still sleeping?

Dianne, was listening to weather channel, lordy, said Kingston even had thunder?? what is with that?? I bought this clear glass for the outer edge of the piece..hope it is pretty..trying to make myself excited about this piece..if nothing else, Riley likes it! lol

Good morning, all that threatened snow left a dusting at most. DH was disappointed he can't even use snow blower.

Betty, the college is a bit more than an hour East of Rochester in Canandaigua, it is a beautiful little town and a big tourist area in the summer for the lakes/Finger Lakes region. IN the winter...rather a ghost town around the lakes. No staying for the weekend....I know he is safe, just hard..and empty sound. He was always playing the piano or a guitar....or music blaring of some sort.

Not sure what is on the schedule for today, we need to find a new storm door....but all are special order to fit, and say up to two weeks! yikes!

Enjoy your weekend....and rest at every opportunity. Don't always need to be productive Betty!

Barb, how you doing sweets? Big hugs....

Waving to Thunder & Thea, Crit and Crissy.....Dianne, did you get this mess of snow?

Bev, how did Scotty do and how are the babies? Any news?

Ok, coffee time....waving to all.....

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning Debbie,

You will have to tape his playing and rather than listening to Elvis tapes you can listen to his and have the feeling he is right beside you! Screen doors are sooo expensive and special order even more so..drats, you didn't need that did you.

Debbie my plan IF weather co operates is to come over first weekend in February..I'll drive over early Saturday morning, spend Saturday and likely home mid morning..how is your schedule?

Besides,mi joined in Crits valentines day swap and need to post from your side to make sure it arrives on time..lol

Know I can just rest but did so through the. Heist as season and much of January, doesn't seem to help, fnd it such a waste..won't work hard..do a bit and sit, do a bit and sit..

Sun is coming out, thinking of warming up the car, need some groceries..have to pass laundromat to get there, thinking I could put rag quilt in washer, go get groceries, pick up rag quilt and be home shortly after 9am

Sound like a plan?

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, tell me when....and where...and I will be there. Sunday would be the "super bowl" party I have to help with, kids come over every year and watch it with Dad. Have a snack fest. I just watch the "cute" commercials. I find it a horrible waste of time to sit and watch sports on TV and it bugs me to no end.....yet here I sit staring at a computer screen! LOL

Are you coming over the border alone or bringing someone?

Sounds like a good play for you today....just go slow and don't rush. Take your time, and enjoy. I think you get so tired "rushing" even more.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well perhaps I'll change my plan, weather meriting I could come over Friday after work, meet you Saturday morning and I could leave late afternoon for home

Not sure about coming alone or not, know the boys would rather someone with me..perhaps Cathy ..know mom wants to go over for the weekend at some point but I'm not ready for that. Lol

Off to laundromat

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

Good morning all. Coffee is good this morning. Cold outside but that is all. No bad stuff here. A friend of mine is coming out this afternoon and we are going horseback riding. The sun is shining so it shouldn't be too bad.

Off to read more threads. Have a blessed day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Enjoy the ride Crit..

Well now that wasn't to hard, dropped off rag quilt, did groceries, post office, washed my car as car wash is adjacent to laundromat, had 8 minutes to wait...rag quilt in the dryer, stew is on..quick vacuum, dust and floors washed up here and done my chores..now I can play. Even moved the old fireplace onto back deck, had a thought, usually there is a table and chair set their but never used..just maybe I should be looking for a wicker set..might enjoy sitting..will have to give that a though..think I have too many touts, gets me in trouble...

Well if I get a move on, can be playing for the rest of the day within 1/2 hour..something to be said not having a mansion...easy to keep clean!

Baton Rouge, LA

I'd better jump in... I almost lost you all....
((HUGS)) Deb... are you friends with Shane on FB? I've been able to follow some of DSD and DNiece on there... like Betty said easier to follow what is going on in their lives with the computer.
Love Laura's idea too... he would probably love a little mail from time to time...
Thea had me laughing re: Mammogram. I don't think it's fair that I have to get them when I have "nothing"... LOL
Dianne... hope you are having a good day...yes - worked late Thurs night.. our company hosts a banquet every year for high school football players that were featured on our Sports News... Warrick Dunn is a local celebrity that hosts it...he was a football player that went pro, his Mom was a Baton Rouge Police officer shot / killed during a robbery and she was a single Mom. I think he was a senior in high school at that time. Warrick now has a foundation now that provides homes to singer mothers.

I have no plans today and Hubs is working.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

A good old Arkansas boy won a bass boat in a raffle drawing. He brought it home and his wife looked at him and said,

"What you gonna do with that. There ain't no water deep enough to float a boat within 100 miles of here."

He says, "I won it and I'm a-gonna keep it."

His brother came over to visit several days later. He sees the wife and asks where his brother is.

She says, "He's out there in his bass boat", pointing to the field behind the house.

The brother heads out behind the house and sees his brother in the middle of a big field sitting in a
bass boat with a fishing rod in his hand .
He yells out to him, "What are you doin'?"

His brother replies, "I'm fishin'. What does it look like I'm a doin'?"

His brother yells, "It's people like you that give people from Arkansas a bad name, makin' everybody think we're stupid. If I could swim, I'd come out there and whip your ass!"

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lol, too cute Crissy..did you go out last night like mamma Betty told you to do??

Mary, nice to see he wasn't bitter and pushed forward the tragedy to help others... So if hubby is working what mischief will you get into?

Baton Rouge, LA

Crissy - HAHAHAHAHA !!!!

Betty - no clue... any suggestions? It sure has been a relaxing morning...maybe I got a good nights sleep....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Can you get outside gardening Mary? It's hard to believe that even though we have snow I can see where each garden is, even some of the shrubbies..sure wish I was out working in them but instead here I is. Lol

Baton Rouge, LA

I actually did a little weeding already... it's amazing to me these weeds can grow when everything else dies...
I am trying to get the nerve to try to save one of my hibbies from root rot. it seems a complex procedure... soak in hydrogen peroxide, etc.

Victoria Harbour, ON

What is the worse that can happen Mary, it's dying??? You may by trying the proceedure come out with a healthy plants that flowers beyond big to say thank you Mary..be brave, go have a try!
