Morning everyone! Synda, love that story of the tiny baby, glad she is going home, and praying she will develope normally!
Love those lady bug toes!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

OMG ROFLMAO!!!!!! That's great Synda! Love the story, I have hughesnet too!

Love the ladybug toes, might actually do that one this summer. hhmmmmm

A good old Arkansas boy won a bass boat in a raffle drawing. He brought it home and his wife looked at him and said,

"What you gonna do with that. There ain't no water deep enough to float a boat within 100 miles of here."

He says, "I won it and I'm a-gonna keep it."

His brother came over to visit several days later. He sees the wife and asks where his brother is.

She says, "He's out there in his bass boat", pointing to the field behind the house.

The brother heads out behind the house and sees his brother in the middle of a big field sitting in a
bass boat with a fishing rod in his hand .
He yells out to him, "What are you doin'?"

His brother replies, "I'm fishin'. What does it look like I'm a doin'?"

His brother yells, "It's people like you that give people from Arkansas a bad name, makin' everybody think we're stupid. If I could swim, I'd come out there and whip your ass!"

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

My sides hurt from laughing!!!
Oh dear!! Crissy, that could be any Bubba from North Carolina!!! LOLOL!!!!

Post from Faye...

Hello everyone, It's been another longggggggggggg two days here. Ray got up Sat. morning and couldn't put his weight on his left (good) foot. (The right one had 5 screws put in last year.) Took him to the Dr. She doesn't know what the problem is. The foot is red and swollen, and hurts when touched. The foot now looks like it would explode if a pin touched it. While in Hospital he was told the red place on the top of that foot was Gout, but the Dr. Sat. said she didn't think so. Took blood and we wait for results. The Hospital records showed no blood check for Gout, but they treated the foot as if that was the problem. If it is Gout, it cannot be treated with Prednizone (sp), the usual treatment because of the open wound from back surgery. I felt so sorry for him this morning. He has been so good about all that has happened to him and this morning he was almost crying when he said "honey, what else is going to happen" Ray is so good, it breaks my heart to see him always suffering.
Love & hugs to all
Faye

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks LK.
Kel is taking meds for gout, but it's in his big toe.
With Ray, maybe the doctor could give some anti inflammatory meds that won't affect the surgery's wound?
We won't give up praying for Faye and Ray.

Please sistahs, add Kathy Parker, or better known as Kizmo to some.
She lost her FIL and will certainly need our prayers.

It's a quiet Sunday of rest for me. Watched football, and sorry Crissy.. Giants will face Patriots.
49ers has a very good defense. Harbrough should be proud of turning this team around. Maybe next year. That poor Kyle Williams, hope he had police escort after the game!

Sue, have fun at the convention.

See you all in the morning.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!
Sending prayers for Kathy and family too!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

ok, i'm out of the closet. picture me my daughter, grandson, and two dogs locked in a closet at two this morning. couldn't breath. grandson said call the weatherman and tell him to hurry up with the tornado, i'm very tired

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad your OK, hope there is no damage!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Kathy, what is it with Alabama and storms? Glad to hear all are safe at your house.

tornadoe Ally...

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

my daughters friend said her town is leveled. mike takes that way to work, but there is no getting threw. he had to go 20 miles out of his way to get there.
last nite they said thursday is going to be even worse. praying they are wrong. i dont like the closet and there is 6 inches of water and mud under the house.
this storm last nite took the same path almost as the storm in april.
this area is known for tornadoes, but the season hasn't started yet. now what does that tell you

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

To hunker down and hang on tight! Or move! ^_^
Sorry to hear that town was damaged. Sending prayers no one was hurt too bad!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yeah BooHiss Jaye, Oh well, too bad I don't really care for either team. This seems to happen more than not. I didn't get to really watch the game, I was getting an explanation from a 55 year old man about male menopause. LOL!!

OH NO!! Last time I checked there were 7 reports of tornado damage in AR, all on the east side of the state.

I googled Dixie Alley for y'all.

sue

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry your team lost Sue! Sweet dreams!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sis Kathy, I believe the Lord's looking out for you.
BUT--------------don't be stubborn and do get out of there.. find a motel room or hitch up the camper and stay out of Tornado Alley till all's clear!
We want you and the family safe.

Male Menopause eh Crissy. That's when their testerone's low. Can me medically corrected.. but their mind? That takes psyciatric therapy!! OR a frying pan!!

Hi Sis LK!!

Barb, have you started on the book yet?

Sue~~ waving~ Susan~~~Charleen~~~Pegi~~~Betty~~~

Armwraps my Chippewah Sistah.

Synda, hope something positive's happens today for your mother.

Wow a rematch between the Giants and the Patriots. I hate to say this, but I'll be rooting for the Patriots all because of Kevin Faulk. He's one of my favs LSU and has been with Patriots for 11 years now. Had also worked with his cousins and they are truly nice folks.

Slept most of the day. It was in the high 70s today, and last night, I had the heater on!! So fought with sinus, took something that my sister had given me... didn't put glasses on.. took 2 instead on 1 pill. You all guess it right!! Put me to sleep that I can't even wake myself up as hard as I tried? Ever experienced that?
A loud banging on the door woke me up. Kel had to hitch a ride home as he locked the keys in the truck!! Serves him right, always telling me that I tend to get careless and never lock the truck doors!! :D

Watching "Hoarders". I'm almost there!! Lololol.

Marion, would we qualify as "Hoarders" with our fabric stash?

This message was edited Jan 23, 2012 10:40 PM

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

LOL, Jaye I am not sure after sorting today! I definitely am a hoarder of Christmas things--well Kim and I are!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Which book Jaye?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready. How about some English muffins, with your choice of jams, or cheese spreads.

Thunder posted in Betty's thread that hubby is going in for back surgery this morning. Please add her to your prayers please?

Jaye, "Hoarders" with our fabric stash"? If hubby can have all his car related magazines, and 6 old hot rods in the yard, I can have my fabric and plant collection! I keep telling him, I don't spend half as much as he does on my hobby! That shuts him up for awhile!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

muffin with peanut butter for me please. have to take the gs to school soon

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Peanut butter sounds really good!
Morning Sis!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Morning Everyone!!

LK those storms happened here in AR on Sunday evening. You're in a 30-40% chance of tornadoes today so keep an eye out.

Jaye, Dave would have been fit to be tied if he locked his keys in his truck! I would have gotten phone call after phone call to come get him. Thank God he can't do that, he uses his remote to lock and unlock the doors

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sis Kathy, I'm sure your GS will recount his experience in the closet.
Tell him, weathermen can be wrong too, luckily, he's right and you were forewarned! Praise God, you're okay.

Weatherman is wrong for this area. Supposed to be at 68*.. add another 13* And tonight I'm sure it would plummet to the 40s!

"The art of Fabric Collage" Barb!! I thought it be perfect for you since you've practically acquired all the quilting techiques! Especially the determination to get projects done!! (Do you hear the envy in my voice?)

Good Lord.. of course LK, I'll say extra prayers for Thunder's DH. Isn't his name Dave?
Good for you Sis. What Todd pay for a hot rod is less than a year's worth of fabric and books, for you ;)
It's me with the more expensive hobby :*( Kel's into music, art books and gore movies (Don't tell the pastor)

Crissy, he said he wanted to call me, but remembered that I have problems driving. Just his luck that none of his friends were at the gas station where he was!!!!

Marion, "The Help" is GOOD!!!! It came in yesterday and I watched it twice!!
If you're into action flicks, borrow "Hannah". It went under the radar and is something you'd enjoy. Story about a teenage assassin, with Cate Blanchet in it. Her role was truly out of the norm.

Sistahs, I've been praying for all of you, asked or not. Even the list is not longer on the thread, it's on my pc. It doesn't hurt to pray.
This actually fortifies my relationship with the Lord, even though there are days when I seem to be falling off the wagon. Still, just focusing on you all, sometimes make my personal issues so insignificant.
Don't hesitate to ask for more when there are dire matters. With specific prayers, it's easier to ask the Lord instead of just a general prayer.

Love you all.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh Jaye, glad to know someone else enjoyed enough to watch it twice. LOL Kim and I really like it but chocolate pie will never look the same again!!! LOL We haven't been able to watch much lately as Kim is taking 2 classes this semester in addition to another extended day for regular job. Oh well, it will be worth it in the end--hopefully this summer.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion, how about white chocolate pie??
You're right, I'll always connect future chocolate pies to that movie! I love that character Minny and the way it ends.. she found her a 'family' that loves her, and won't ever abuse her.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

White would be okay. LOL It was indeed a good movie and I am glad to see it is up for some Oscar awards. What wasn't there to love about Minny?

It is one dreary day here but then it has been for the past several days. Not cold but overcast and just plain yucky looking.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion, I'm compiling movies by decades, to re-watch.
Since Kel's been working at night, if I'm not tired, I'll pop a dvd.
I've started the top 20, 80s movies that I'll rewatch for the next couple of months. Some I have to borrow from Netflix
My list..
1. A Christmas Story
2. A Fish Called Wanda
3. An Officer and a Gentleman
4. Amadeus
5. Babette's Feast (an '87 Danish fim, directed by Gabriel Axel)
6. Back to the Future
7. Blade Runner
8. Blue Velvet (I know, it's sick.. but a classic)
9. Cinema Paradiso
10.Das Boot
11.Die Hard
12.E.T. The Extra Terrestial
13.Full Metal Jacket
14.Quest For Fire
15.Rain Man
16.Sex, Lies and Videotape
17.The Right Stuff
18.The Road Warrior (love old Mel Gibson movies)
19.To Live and Die in La
20.Tootsie
ooops.. 21. "Who Framed Roger Rabbit."

I could use some suggestions..

Weather's summery here. Will confuse my poor plants :(

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Like your list. I would have to add Glory, Invictus to the list and Evita.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Like your list too Jaye. Some I have not heard of, and some we have here. Some I need to get, like rain man, have not seen that one yet.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

OH LK Rain Man is an awesome movie.

That is a good list, except for Sex, Lies, and Videotape, didn't like that one at all, thought it was the lamest movie I had ever seen lol

i will add CannonBall Run with Burt Reynolds and Farrah oh i just love Dom Delouise too Crack me up
Colore Purple
what is the one with the chinese women and the quilt ?

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

add, it's a wonderful life. one of my favorites

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sis Kathy.. you're going back 40 years!!!! I'm starting on the 80s!
I love It's a Wonderful Life, would catch it on tv often!

Marion, I'm ashame to say I've never seen Glory!!! Though I love Denzel, that movie somewhat escaped me.
Evita and Invictus are of the next decade. Will put down Invictus as a must watch... but not Evita. I'm not a Madonna fan... though I like the Eva Peron story.

Crissy, SL&Video Tapes is not for everyone. That drama bore Kel! I like Spader's role in it, and I thought the director's fantastic. Anyway that movie is the pivotal point for most indi films' dramas in the 90s.
I'm glad you like the Rain Man.
It amazed me to see how perfect the pairing is between an unlikely cinema icons... Hoffman and Cruise.

You mean, "How to make an American Quilt", Sue? It's a 1995 movie, and they're all Americans in there.
No idea of a Chinese and a quilt, but I do have the Joy Luck Club, a story recounting the lives of some Chinese women, the lives they left behind before they migrate to the states. That too was produced in the 90s.
Kel reaches for Cannon Ball run every year!!!! And the Bandit of course!! He's a big BR fan.
Do you know that Dom Deluise wrote kids books? I didn't know till Sistah Judy told me about it.

Morning sistahs. AC ran last night and it's in the 60s now. Go figure. My sister thought it would be a short winter for me, but I told her I won't be surprise if I get snow in April!!!

LK, since Todd loves hot rods, have you seen all the Back to the Future? It's a trilogy which Kel would watch over and over. I like the first two.

Breakfast is ready!!! Grits and sausage and WHITE chocolate muffins ;)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hmmmm..... Neener if you're lurking.. need some recommendations from you.
There must be some movies out there I haven't seen.. besides Glory.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Thanks for breakfast.
Yes we have seen all the back to the future movies. Have you seen dances with wolves with Kevin Costner, or Maybe bridges of Madison county with Clint Eastwood? Or Grand Torino with Clint Eastwood, it was released just a year or so. Forest Gump. The new True Grit...
