Synda, you're not being cruel. You love your mum too much to see her in pain. I'm sorry she's going through more ordeals.
My FIL had several mini strokes and ended up in a vegetative state for 3 years.
When my mother died, one month after she's diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer (@58), 8 children were orphaned. But we were all glad that she didn't suffer.

Sistah Judy, you've been very creative!!! You're always thinking of something unique!! Proud of you gal! You can't do nothing less!

Betty, it will be one memorable gathering!! Won't we all be using up camera disks just to take pictures of her beautiful art, in her garden and her home?
Cooking? What's that? You're on vacation too, so we'll just munch on sandwiches!!

Sistah Judy has been so gracious as to include the exclusive spa treatment for our hands after a hard day's toiling in grime. Berry scented hand wash and lotion.
Thank you Sistah, for organizing this, and Lord knows, I'm still humbled by the love shown by my sistahs here.

In case anyone's wondering, I've been on my back, resting in bed for the past day and a half.
Nothing serious, that a heating pad and some Butalbital helps. I can't believe the older I get, the more dependant I am on pharmaceutical drugs.
The only thing I managed to get done, is to read and pray. This is not a good way to get any attention!
Kel helped with feeding the kids, only because I asked him to. He's happy that he could feast on pizzas.

Thanks for the new room Jaye! Those lotions look like they smell really good! Sorry your back went out on you. Have you tried a heating pad or ice packs? I have been laying on a heating pad for the past few day's, that has helped me some!

LK, I've been using a heating pad, even apply some liquid balm. It helps a lot, an at least I can take a shower!!

I even cook!! Made some chicken fricassee. Rice and instant mashed potatoes! My appetite has returned.

Just in time too. Rimau, my oldest cat is needing more attention. He's 14 years old, and my last link to Louisiana. He's getting weak, and no more running with the cats outside or having scenarios.
For now, he's sleeping a lot, next to the monitor.

Rimau's on his last leg. His breathing is shallow.
Don't know whether he'll survive the night. I've accepted this and all I thank the Lord, He had given me THE greatest pet anyone could ask for.
If anyone's reading this.. Rimau had accompanied me all the way from Louisiana to NC. Never a growl or a cry. Only meows when he's hungry, and Kel would feed him chicken nuggets.
He took to his new kingdom well, but didn't expect years later to be grandad to rescues.
At times, to tease Rimau, Kel would take off his shoes and socks from work and asked Rimau to smell his feet. You should see the face this cat made. Like a human "Ewwww"! Too funny.
He's also a great mouser. Would catch mice and lay them on the doorsteps.. as though saying, supper's here!

How is your Mom doing Synda?

Not any change ,they are moving her to a nursing home tomorrow against my and my brother Shawn's judgement ,we think she needs to stay a little bit longer in the hosp ,but who are we,in this state the only one who has any say is the husband or court appointed guardian and I guess you have to die before they will rule neglect.............She is still hooked up to all kinds of IV's and equipment.........And we are having a heck of a time having any Dr sign competency papers so Shawn can say what needs to be done other than my dear darling step daddy or brother Fred...Without those papers Dale (step dad) can sign her out of the nursing home at anytime and put her back in the neglectful scenario she was in.... God forbid they have to give back or use any of the money that they stole from the estate.

Synda, I so understand all you are dealing with right now. Although there wasn't a stepdad in our situation, the doctors rushed Mom from the hospital on more than one occasion. Most of it was due to the time frame that Medicare would pay and heavens fore bid, they lost their money. I think you were very smart to write her obituary while you are "still of slightly sound mind" My sister and I tried to do Mom's last year when we were told she only had a few weeks (doctors can be wrong!) and what a mess. Thankfully we have had a chance to reread and clean up the mess we had put together.

Jaye, sending hugs for you and your kitty. Oh how well Kim and I understand that.

Jaye I know exactly what you are going through, Tiga quit playing altogether 2 weeks before she passed. She just got lethargic, put herself to bed, and passed in her sleep almost 1 year to the day, she passed January 25, 2011. (((((((((((JAYE))))))))))

Synda I'm trying to let you borrow my boss's slugger. LOL!! No, seriously, I'm thinking about you every day with this issue, my aunt took all of my estate that she could con the dumbass judge to give her, which was almost everything, she turned on the tears and his dumb old ass believed her. So glad you were able to do the obit, that's extremely hard. Wish you could come up to Betty's, I would LOVE to meet you!!!

Marion I hope that your mom improves and I'm able to get up to Betty's so I can meet you too!!! I'm excited about something I may not be able to do! LOL OOPS!!!

Synda darling, that's a very lovely poem. I wish you enough Faith so you can believe that God will take care of those mistreating your mum. It's sad, when people take advantage of fragile, helpless folks especially when it's family.
As Marion says, doctors can be wrong. She might outlive your step dad!!

I fed Rimau at 12.30 last night, an a slow rain starts. Told Rimau that the Lord wants him home. Picked him up and hugged him and he died in my arms 20 minutes later.
Thanked him for the fantastic 14 years of being my best friend and son. When I told him that I will be alright, that's when the convulsions started. I thank God for taking him.
When he had his few labored breaths, I 'saw' his young face with a halo of light. Not imagining, not embellishing neither. My conviction that we will be reunited with all our beloved pets is unshakeable.
I know his spirit has visited his old stomping grounds in Breaux Bridge. There is the 100 year old oak tree where he honed his skills as a predator.

Crissy, Rimau went downhill after a week, when he quit wanting to go outside.
I'm glad he came home to die. That was my biggest worry that he'd die somewhere in the woods.

Kel is off today and he'll make sure Rimau has the best pine box. The weather here is in the high 70s. Imagine that!!
