Thanks Crit, nothing to exciting..worked from home, had family/friends drop in, lots of calls...worked on my SG piece, now ready to hang..nice day, very calming actually.

With high winds and alert saying higher yet to come ill go downstairs in craft room to play between sewing and stained glass...all furries are resting, looks so inviting but if I do that highly likely I'd not be pleased with wasting a day!!

I was trying to sew something last night and got so mad at my sewing machine! Besides it being difficult for me with my hands, the bobbin thread wasn't sewing right, then the top thread would get caught in the bobbin case, then the needle threader on the machine decided not to work, after it had just worked a few minutes earlier. Tried to thread the needle by hand....what a joke. Had my magnifying glass down there trying to do it. DH came in and offered to do it for me, he couldn't get it either. Changed needles, still no workie. I could change the bobbin case in case the machine didn't like that one, but still have an unthreaded needle! I just got up and walked away! lol Told DH I may need to take it in and have it looked at. It is a Brother and about 12 or so years old, but hasn't been used all that much so is pretty much like brand new. They aren't that expensive, $150 or so that are like mine, but I hate to do that when this one is in the shape it is.

Have started to do some ws'ing even though we haven't had much of a winter. We are still getting down to 40's and sometimes around freezing, so decided to go ahead with it. ^_^

Crit, maybe you just need a good cleaning of lint and a bit of oil..nothing worse than wanting to sew and sewing machine acting up..winter storm here today, high/high winds so inside is a good place to putter..no winter sowing for me..doubt anything will get planted till end of May..so envy all of you who are able to be out in the gardens.

Well, so far I have a flat of canna's planted and 2 flats of other seeds for inside. I did 24 ws jugs and put them outside. I have 16 more ready to do tomorrow. I don't have a good setup for my inside starts. No good place to put grow lights so just have to rely on the warm sun through the window.

Interesting process isn't it..wonder what percentage will survive. I get antsy for gardening, set up seeds, they get leggy and by the time it's planting time we get a frost and thre they go?

I have been trying to talk to Stacey about coming to the Reunion with me and I think I have her thinking about it. Her only concern is that she will have to bring Jonathan. He will be 2 months short of 2 years old then and he is already running around now. He will need naps, regular meals & baths and the usual baby stuff that goes with that age. He is really good with people but he is also a toddler that is sometimes an angel and can be the devil too. Stacey is concerned that he will put a damper on the visit for the rest of the adults, what with the sightseeing and visiting. Please let me know by thread or D-Mail how you feel about Jonathan joining us; please be honest.

I am also concerned about housing. I would hate to intrude on any of your friends, Betty. Is there a motel or such near you that we could stay at and not put anyone out with the routine that goes along with a little one?

Janice there are lots of hotels that are close to Betty's, if I go I'm going to try to stay at Darlene's house. You won't be intruding on anyone or anything, trust me, they love visitors and sleepovers and girl parties and such. You will love it up there.

Nice to see that both you Janice and Stacey are considering crossing the border, not overly far for you both..yes there are hotels around me, lots of different options, keep planning!!!

Sadly, it doesn't look like I am going to be able to make it. Unexpected things took the money I was saving back to come up. Maybe we can do a webcam (if I figure out how to use it! LOL) and I can be with you all that way. It seems a round-trip ticket from here was about $550. I'm going to keep checking every now and then to see if the prices drop. I am dying to be there with you!!!!!!!!!!

Had my DGD's here last week for spring break. They are 5 & 7 (8 April 10) and we had so much fun. They LOVE our hot tub and can play in there for hours. Luckily, it is right outside the windows in the room I over-winter my plants and plant my seeds for ws'ing. I could watch them and do my seeds too! They also had to ride dear little Jake. They LOVE that little guy too. Last time I promised them I would get them Cowgirl hats this time, so here they are with their new hats and Jake.

They are pretty good girls! They play so good together and love each other so much, it is just adorable. I was surprised I lasted a week. It started out to be 3 days, but they didn't want to go home. I was so glad. It rained 5" off and on everyday they were here. The sun was out and nice and warm the morning I had to take them home. But we had fun!

Crit sorry you can't go. I know how money messes up the best of plans. In my case lack of time off from work adds to it.

time is coming near for the gathering, we'll be nearing 2 months..oh happy days..

I so badly want to get into the gardens to clean and edge but weather is not co operating, here is hoping today will be a sunshine day and I'll get to work amongst my pretties..ponds up and running, that's a big job done..now if all the flowers could delay or bloom prior to their normal time my visitors will enjoy the gardens.

Well you all know if situation re $$$ or extra time off work possible you are all more than welcome, just book a flight and I'll pick you up either Canadian or USA side of the border..

I'm getting excited, 2 more months and I'll get to give hugs..

Cookie had asked me to fly over to Ohio, and then we'll drive down to yours. That is very kind of her, and again, I had to think of the next batch of meds!!! Reality sucks!! Wish the good old days will return when plans won't be disrupted!

siiiiiiiigh well, wish things were even Possible on this end. with Airmiles it's even expensive (airmiles is a Canadian thingie....! I have 550 airmiles, and it "costs" 3300 airmiles to go to Toronto from Calgary! Yikes! Only costs 1900 to Winnipeg........ geeeze, what a lot!
and paying cash is expensive nowadays...... ah well, I thought a Canadian trip would be do-able, but it's not. At least not at this time.

I'm terribly confused about Skype - I thought it was free, then it asked for payment via "chits" or something....... and I don't want to have to "buy time" to get on it........ so I un-installed the program.

I got a Canadian map the other day and the AAA says it is only 6 hrs from Toledo. Of course we would have to stop with Jonathan but that is very doable. We might stop the night in Toronto just to make it easier. Betty, if you would let me know what motels, etc. are in the area so I can contact them and make reservations. I think your area is pretty busy during the summer and I want to make reservations.

I have been working hard on a quilt for my son and his wife in Findlay. I also had to make a pot holder set for the Quilt Guild May Dinner Meeting. A friend from Lansing gave me a small purse that I just love and I have been making some for the DIL's as well as for a Bazaar this Fall. You can see I have been busy. Keeps me out of trouble.

aha - I found what I was "thinking about" when I mentioned "chits". From Wikipedia:

I don't have any debits, and I remember it asking me for them, when I was using my internet connection, so was confused why a "free" service was asking for debits........ and said I didn't have any on my account.
I'm going to get a microphone and check out Skype again!

Susan do you have a webcam for the computer? If you don't you can buy one at Staples that has a microphone included. A good quality runs anywhere from $20.00 up. This is according to the resident family geek who was trying to get me to Skype with her.

I took my camera off, cuz I wasn't using it, but will need to locate it and see if it has a mic on it.......... I know all the new ones do.

Janice their is a new hotel/motel opening in the next week or so..will check further when I get to midland on the weekend..we'll book it and as things get closer and accommodations for all arranged we will know if we have to keep it or cancel. I'm just so excited!!
