Glad you like the water and fish..they do have other foods on the island but really no fun if you get motion sickness and Georgian Bay can be rough. Different than the ocean, ocean is rolling, Georgian bay choppy.

Did walkabout in the gardens this am..had talk with all my pretties, a lot is staring to bloom, told them not now not now, but will they listen? Want them all in bloom to welcome you all at end of June..ohhh one more day and I'll not have to mention the month..we'll be in that month!!

Couch won out..did want to do some sewing of cushions for outdoors but so nice to put my feet up..have gardening books out, could leaf through them..early night maybe..might do as I did as a child and ask, how many more sleeps? Lol

We are trying to get a mountain home so we can enjoy more seasons and bears and deer grazing etc. not far from the desert I live in now. Not full time but part time. When it is hot we can go there, when we are going to get snow there, we can go and get snowed in and miss work. lol just kidding though it could happen now and again over the years

Imagine, here we are in June, end of the month and I get to once again hug my DG friends.

Looking at the heavy rain thinking, oh Lord don't let it rain from morning until night ..shaking my head NO, asking for sunshine only.

Amazing, I live in a small town, off main drag and yet when you are in my gardens you have the feeling, at least I do, that you are in the middle of nowhere..secluded for sure.

Seeing the gathering is NOW this month and that flowers are blooming and not waiting for you all, don't want you to miss any of it's beauty so will post photo's as the garden starts to bloom.

That way those who cannot make it will also be part of the gathering...

Sadly I'll be one that won't make it. Thank you Betty for your prayers, reality takes a hard bite.

I'll be with you all in spirit too this year. I'm fortunate in that I have been to Betty's house so as she tells what and where I can relate. Norm was really fascinated by the lock. It was amazing to see it in operation. Sounds like a great trip is planned. We ate at the landlubbers Henry's and it was delicious. You are all going to have a wonderful time.

My last day at my job assignment. The agency didn't have another assignment for me, as they said I was actively interviewing........... siiiiiiiiiiigh Well, I DO have an interview on Monday @ 1:30pm. It's for an EA position with an Oil & Gas company. They only hire 1 out of 100 applicants, so if I get hired, I'll feel fortunate indeed!!

No webcams for me, streaming would be impossible, as we're still on snail dial up service. :(

As much as it hurts me to finally admit it, I will not be able to come. This hurts in a couple of ways.....I have missed so many get togethers lately but I won't be able to visit with my niece that lives in London.

Mom is just so up and down (continues to bounce back) that I need to stay close. Please do no take this the wrong way but it isn't so much for Mom but I am having to "pick and choose" my battles. A tirade from my sister about not being there 24/7 is one one thing but to take a trip for pleasure..........................................................

Wonder if butter tarts can be sent through the mail to you? I have a wonderful recipe for them............ they don't sell those delicious confections in FL? I would have thought they would "wend their way down there" by now.......... so many snowbirds from Canada come to stay in the winter, along with their recipe books lol

Susan, you can occasionally find butter tarts here but not good ones. After having had them in Canada, these just do not pass the test.

I have my niece's recipe for them but just to lazy to make them for myself. Now that Kim has to be careful with her diet, I wouldn't even think about making any.

Betty, it definitely would have been like coming home but it just wasn't to be this year. We will get together one of these days for sure.

Janice, excited as can be to meet up with you again, memories come back when in our Jammie's we walked the halls Suzanne and I to your room in Frankenmuth, opening pressies as we had each others name in a swap, then off to see the World's largest Christmas Store...then again at the Gathering in Cincinnati we got to enjoy each others company (Sure wish Cookie could have made it)..Lordy Stacey was pregnant then..years have gone by so quickly..shouldn't be too hard to find me see g as Stacey spend several days here on a craft/sewing and tourist sabbatical..remember her filling her carto go home proud as can be with her projects..lol. Will this morning get a list of hotels/motels for you in the area..thought Greg and Melanie were going away that weekend and we could have had their home but instead are staying home and having company.. Hmm think the new little hotel just down the road is call Midland Inn and Suites..I'll get the numbers

Going back through memory lane, 3 visits to Chicago to visit Judy and Steve, included an an off road trip with Debbie to spend time with Judy when Liz was visiting from California..

And I. Not forgetting the many/many visits with Debbie and meeting up with Paul and occasionally her family..

I've been part of happy times, sad times and I've watched your families grow as you have watched mine..

Lol meet up with these special Dg friends more than some of my family members..isn't that always the way?

A few coming to the gathering I've not yet met but hold them close to my heart..know that the doors will be open, open arms welcoming you .. I can hear the chatter between all..

As I sip my coffee this morning, light rain falling (let it rain now to end of June so it will be sunshine for you all) I think of this modest house filled with the nicest human flowers in God's garden!

Susan I took butter tarts to Joyce's for the gathering..made all sorts, some filled with cranberries, cocoanut, of course pecan..lots of liquid so no wouldn't do well travelling..always a tease for Marion!!

Dawn, I will research that rose seeing as I'm not the best rose grower, perhaps if it survived Katrina it can survive Betty.

I just had a wonderful 1st interview with an Oil & Gas company - agency sent me, and by the time I got home to call the agency, they'd already been called to ask me to come in for a 2nd interview Thursday at Noon!! First interview was with the HR Manager, and 2nd one is with the boss I'd report to!

Dancing up and down Susan, here's hoping you get full time employment!

In my experience, when an HR Manager accepts you and recommends you for hire, then the meeting with the boss is just to introduce the two of us :-)
