Went to post office and got forms for pass cards.
One little problem.....need ex-husbands ok on letting DD2 go over the border. ( ok big problem)

Yeah Laura!!!! Maybe tell him it's for an educational thing and it would do sooo much good for her to see and learn about another country while actually being in it.

Do you think he'd be "not nice" and not sign Laura? drats, let's hope not a problem. Maybe she can say 'pretty please daddy' usually works lol

Crissy is right, a lot of history in our area..Penetanguishene Naval Base and Midland Shrine/Fort Ste. Marie among Hurons and Wye Marsh (which primarily is for habitat of wildlife) all great learning experiences

Laura, almost extinct are the Trumpeter Swans..they now have a habitat at Wye Marsh

Well I'm on Orbitz, originally looking for a good vacation spot for me and Dave, I think that would help both of us, then I found myself looking at flights up there LOL!!! OOPS!!

Betty I was trying to think if there was a really good Arts and Craft Venue during the time of our Gathering. Came up blank. Kempenfest is the August long weekend - now that would have been fun, Those poor artisans wouldn't know what had hit them if we all converged on them at once.lol

you know Dianne, I'm going to check that out..it will be our Canada Day weekend..usually something in the offering

Paul has 5 weeks vacation coming, but all depends on what he has to use for his knee surgery and if he is healed well enough after that. Am hoping he has it done by end of February.

Are Liz & Kenny going to try and come also?

Liz says it will be impossible for her and Kenny to come...would have been a 'hoot' to have all the men together..will be something in the area to be of interest to them..

Discussed the trip with Don this morning... and he's all about getting me on that plane in June... what's up with that?
So, I now have my sister and I booked on a round trip flight to Buffalo, a rent car in Buffalo, and my road trip mapped to Betty's house. HEHEHE... now, I only have 6 months to pack...

ROFLOL BJ, you sound like my friend in Gainesville. She needs a good 6 months to pack, repack, plan and replan what she takes on a trip. Then at the last minute decided on entirely different items. I am so hoping I am going to be able to make this trip but one never knows with Mom. It is a day to day thing almost. Celebrating her 93rd birthday this weekend. Thinking positive about coming to Bettys..........would love to see you and others again.

OMG, was thinking about you this weekend! Our radio station had an Elvis day on Sunday...When they played Jailhouse Rock, i made a comment on how it must be Elvis day, it was the third in a row...DH sitting on the couch reading, Said no it was Chubby Checker, huh?? NO WAY and i had to argue with him until he just looked at me with his pursed lips, lol not going to argue i said Ohhhkay, but it's Elvis!! Then hahaha, if the station didn't Say it's a full day of ELVIS!! Needless to say, Hahaha, I know my Elvis songs. All he could say is Elvis is cool, Duh.

Well, little giggles here, I am coming to see your House, So excited to say to Steve, just look at all Betty's hard work. When we met here, you were just starting to get the gardens in and the Craft room was just built!! You've done an outstanding job on the remodel and i cant wait to see you and your cozy little house.

OK, well i best get a move on here, I'm suppose to be cleaning, lol.

Place was pretty run down when I bought it Judy as you know and yes, I did learn to paint, to drywall, to lay floors, just wish someone would have taught me how to do plumbing..need kitchen zinc fixture fixed due to leaking and also new countertop and zinc in washroom which has been on my todo list for past few years..going to find me a man in the community (not to keep) lol just to do those 2 projects. Must go back into late June last 2 years and see what was blooming in the gardens, shucks, if I have to I'll go out and buy a few hundred plastic flowers similar to what is in bloom just so you see what it should look like in July/August ... too funny

A friend of mine is getting the address of the Elvis who sings Gospel whose picture is above in a post..want to see the cost of having him come IF he's available..think it would be way COOOOLLL

Gosh I just went back to work after 6 mo. off for two surgeries. That sure looks like you guys will have a blast. I would have loved to come, but it is unlikely now that I am back to work. Betty is such a hostess. You can't not have fun. Betty did you get another dog yet? I think you are lucky peeps if you get to go to Betty's house and country. Hope you all have your passports.

I was one of the original friends here. There are so many friends here, that I felt bad if I could not comment on each person or remember to answer each person. I did not get on as often and couldn't keep up. lol So I ran away from home. I have to pop in and visit though. I can not forget this fantastic thread and our beloved leader. Great friends here.

I still have gophers but have a new dog that loves to dig for them. Seldom catches them, but loves to dig.

Dawn, absolutely no need to post to every posts, a " hi" and a wave to all suffices! Sorry to hear you've had to have 2 operations, back healthy I hope? Dawn, will you believe I still have Sailor..keep thinking she is near the end then surprise, she thinks she is a pup..hoping somehow things change and you can make it, if not just join in the fun n- line, we'll take turns posting when the gathering happens and you will feel you are with us...sooo glad you found us again!! Shaking my finger, no running away!

Just so excited to see names of DG friends on this thread..already fretting, will I have flowers at this time of year knowing that my gardens aren't in full bloom until late July/early August so here is what I found..will be some out to welcome you!!!!!!

Hey Betty you never know, if it doesn't get any colder and starts to warm up like it has here you might be in full bloom in June instead of August. I have things coming up that shouldn't be growing until the end of March.
