OMG no wonder Dianne like her Christmas box..look at all the goodies she received..love the Santa cowboy!!! How proud you must have been at the graduation and to have instructors say he is a joy topped off the day I'm sure.
Mary, you joined the hibiscus group, was it for so many months? Bet you've enjoyed it and learned so much from attending these gatherings.
Debbie, good for you, time you get spoilt! You say you were looking at houses, are you in the market? Were you shopping in Rochester or in Buffalo? Maybe when all the drama is done you and hubby can spend more time together..hoping so!
Well, I'm calling it a day, short 8 blocks but if tomorrow goes as well as today did, by night I'll have the quilt top together..won't sew each individual row together until I decide if I want to machine quilt or send it out...big decision..a gift for Suzanne, already have a mint in the project lol..
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends
thunder meant to say how cute Malena was..bet she's the apple of her uncle's eye!
Off to bed, maybe read a bit..
Must say as I worked with blocks many of you were with me..I'd come across a block and ohh and ahh and think of each of you!
Thunder, bet you had a great week-end! Thanks for posting the pictures of items for Dianne and Warren!
Love that top Betty!

Hello To All !
Oh THunder Thunder THunder... HOW proud you are! Soldiers & Sailor and Good looking men in uniform, Oh My !
And how cute... "Cowel"... I can just hear Malena in her little southern drawl..... What wonderful items you picked out for Dianne & Warren!
So glad you had pics... our LAST Christmas pressie !
Debbie - I can't believe Hubs threw out such a nice coat but good for him for making it good....and what a great deal !
Yes - Betty - Have learned a lot and still much more to learn. I think I'll stay with the Hibiscus club another year... it has been fun...
I tried to re-word / edit my above post because it didn't really say what I was meaning to.
LK - glad Faye and Ray are doing better....
(HUGS)
Mary
Mary, I don't think it was really his fault. The kids had cleaned my van....had one bag for garbage...on bag for things left in the car that needed to come in house...aka...my coat and some clothing from when I stayed at DDs. Well, they both got put in the garbage as he didn't know. BUT it has been a few weeks...it was warm here and I didn't need the coat to look for it. Then we put 2 & 2 together....and that is about the only conclusion we came up with as we can't find my coat.
Betty, we have been looking to move....for DH closer to work....for a couple years. IT is just a "looking" thing right now....but something needs done. With my "issues" we are looking with something that doesn't have so many stairs. AND..he is going to need knee surgery...sooner than later. SO, we have eyes open. I see it maybe "2 years" down the road as we have to do some repairs here.....cleaning out of the attic and being able to get the "ducks in a row" for selling and buying.
Such wonderful news about Faye and Ray! OHH we so needed some good news.
wow - gorgeous men in uniform!
awwwwwww Cooooooowl!
Yaaaaaaaaaay and WOW - Ray home so quickly! From "not sick" to "hospitalized sick" to "surgery" to "home and doing so well it doesn't look like he was sick at all" Yikers!!
I have an Amarylis growing in my front window, and has 2 buds!!......... Looking forward to seeing it flower! will take pics when it does.
Debbie - sorry to hear your coat is Gone!
Hope you find a good place to move too, with No stairs. That would be best, although I hear those with replaced knees are better-than-new afterwards.
Hey Deb - Okay we'll let Paul off the hook.... had something similar happen here... DS put all his stuff out for a garage sale then "didn't hear" when hubby said it was clean up time... everything left out goes to Good Will......
So all his Gaming stuff.... electronics, games, etc... went to Good Will.. he could have sold those online... but oh well I'm sure some deserving little boy out there was rewarded :o)
Can't wait to see your Amaryllis pic Susan! Hard Freeze here last night... I'm keeping count... that was #4...
Can't wait for Spring !
Hugs,
Mary
Well, Spring is on the way - days are getting noticeably longer - not so dark when I drive home!
I wondered about that Susan....
I mean I counted the "days" to find out the "middle" of winter and I have Feb 5th.... as the middle of winter... however on one of these gardening blogs someone mentioned that "winter" is the worst closer to Dec 22?
I have a Farmer Almanac for 2012... maybe I need to read that to learn more
Up with the night owls..cannot sleep!
Debbie watch if you don't go and find your coat now that you have a new one!
Ooops, all this talk of amaryllis I just remembered I forgot to bring mine in from outside..did that one in.
Morning all, can see the shine on the road and sky looks heavy, feels as though it could rain vs snow..not that I want to be shoveling or driving in a blizzard but wish we would have a good old fashion winter so seasons keep in form and of course winter enthusiast sure could use it..know my boys are praying for cold and snow.
Off to make muffins for you all, I'll have a variety of coffe/tea and lattes for you to pick from
Morning all! Just making my way here..... moving slow as it is so cold -28*F on the lakeside of the house. Sure glad I plugged the Escape in last night.
Just call Santa Warren and I a couple of colouring fools! LOL Thank you sooo much Thunder. Size is perfect for us, unlike the Doodle Art that goes on forever you can finish one in a day. I started with an Angel page in the Christmas Book you sent along. What fun! The Doodle Art we have is not on black velvet. In fact I have never seen one that is...... ours are on poster sized paper.Check them out at www.doodleartworld.com
Need to get DH up soon so he can get ready to go into Kingston for his Cscan.Other than bitterly cold out there things look good for the trip.
BBL! Make sure you all do something nice for yourself today.
Dianne
Be safe Dianne, I take back it looked warm, went to put out garbage and as you say bitter cold. Nice to have something to pass the time, bet you enjoy coloring together! You never think of appts being on a Sunday but guess its a must. Will it take up most of your day?
Morning everyone! Thanks for the coffee and muffins Betty!
Dianne, love those doodle posters. Imhave not seen them in a long time.
Wow, -28 is COLD! Please bundle up, and drive careful please?
Oh Betty we are tarred with the same brush I think! One thing I would neverwant people to think of me was that I was lazy. So yep I get dressed as soon as my feet hit the floor in the morning - can't have someone seeing you 'lounge' around.lol
The Kitchen Angel Thunder sent is just delightful. Love the colour red!She gets to not only watch over my kitchen but our deck on the lake side of the house.
I had so much fun participating in this swap - sure hope everyone else did. I was hoping everyone could tell 1 little aside about something in their gift they sent. Here's mine - the hard candy I got for Mary (humbugs, Christmas mix) are made locally right here in the village. This is the third generation of males to do so in that family. Every male has honed their craft at Kingston Penitentary. Yes, they have all done some time but were able to take advantage of their incarceration to learn a skill to keep them employed once outside. So far so good with the fourth generation - really don't think he needs a refresher course.
Soon out the door. Guess I had better start the Escape and let it warm up before DH gets into it. Still lots of ice on the windshield too.
Cscan is set for 12:30 so hope they are on time and we will be out of there in jack quick time. I am going to try to have my blood draw done today while I am there.
BBL
Dianne
Dianne, thoughts and prayers with you as you travel....You know Izzy and I will be squeezing right in there with Warren. SO, if he feels some cold licks on his toes...its just Izzy!
I know that cold is wicked, we being across the lake are on the "plus" side but it is bitter out there. I truly do not do well in winter, but I consider it a good day if I can get some sunshine. I think the sunlight keeps me "up" a bit more.
Don't know if I told you but a few weeks ago we were at Lowes and some of their trees ...tiny pink flowers...were blooming! I think they said mock cherry...but I am not positive on that. SIL Andy said these crops are going to be a mess (fruit trees) if we don't get some long cold days here. He had seen signs at the farm of a very very early spring...and if a cold snap would hit after it progressed a bit...true damage for farmers.
Not sure what today brings. DH and I had a long talk....it involves purging files/papers and filing....consolidating MESSES. Oh heavens! Don't know if that will start today or next week after the chaos of moving DS has stopped.
Betty, I will take one of those carrot cake muffins as I am making blueberry pancakes for breakfast I do believe!
I hope everyone had a good night....
Debbie
I'm sure Dianne like the SuperJail here many of the inmates make wares and are sold provincially and locally. When it was possible to visit the jail, before it got to the size it was and before laws were initiated to say inmates had rights and the yearly tour had to be cancelled I saw such talent..musical, furniture making, glass blowing etc. Think they should be trained so that once out of jail they have something to fall on to make a living and be accepted into society.
Debbie, I'll have a pancake..made some yesterday, got to the syrop part and did a 'oh no' went in search of the bottle Barb had brought me when they visited and remembered at Christmas I used it all up. Once of our clients brought quarts and I believe that Suzanne has one for me, must ask her for it.
Ahhh girl, start fresh once school move has been made..you'll need something to occupy yourself. Great feeling to see the house come back to clean and organized!
Wanted to do the 3rd bedroom overlooking the gardens but when I got the new fireplace and Greg took the insert in for the old one to be repaired he put the wood mantle in that room so no cleaning in there..front closet will wait until next weekend..share the wealth, if I do it all this weekend lordy what will occupy my time next weekend.
Back to rag quilt, on my 5th row of 9 so by 11 it should be finished..one night I'll stop at laundromat and wash/dry and fini..made it for a lovely friend and am excited to give it to her..probably one of my last..seems over the years I've made one for everyone I know lol
Sharon (think I made her feel guilty) had mom over yesterday for a few hours..seems she got a few rows mixed up but Sharon said she did well. She will visit again Monday and likely hers will be done.. had to laugh, when she came here last weekend she said she wanted to make 2 or 3..after this one no go..couldn't believe how much flannel was and also how much work..if she would have had to cut the squares and rag them she really would have seen how much work..maybe now even though she did not say she did like the one I made her for Christmas she will appreciate the amount of work that went into it.
Please help yourself to the muffins because if you don't guess who will eat them all
back sewing
Thought I'd move us to a new room....
