Good Morning...
Laura, sending Arm wraps to your little man!!
So smiling Dianne! Your & Santa W's box sure sounds wonderful!! Yep hope Thunder took some photo's too. Thank goodness that postal lady opened the door for you...Just hate when missing something by only minutes. OMG, Glad you will stay in from the freezing rains, I'm sure you have a nice fire going to keep you warm and cozy.
Well, Our snow has begin and right when they said about 9 AM...DH and I took advantage of the gorgeous weather yesterday! He stained and waterproofed the new front entrance! And we finished getting the very last minute stuff outside, so now we can sort of rest easy during the fall of snow, looks very pretty.
By the looks of weather sure seems we are all getting hit at one time, so if you have to travel, Please be careful on your ventures.
Barbara, so glad that you have your appointment!! Will be praying hard all goes well so you can finally feel better.
For Faye: Saying prayers for Ray.
Suse, Awe, such a cute picture of Moses and his birthday cake!!
Not much else going on here...I cut all the shirts and now ready to figure out what I'm going to do!! One side is going to be Flannel and t-shirt materials and the other will be of Dress shirts materials.
Well, i've got to get some things done before picking Jake up for lunch...
See you in a bit.
P.S. Thunder, So Awesome!! Congratulations to Sailor Boy Enjoy every minute of Ceremony.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends
Prayers for all in need......
Seems so much is still going on.
Thank goodness for kidney stones! I know... that sounds weird, right?
Lordy, busy/busy this morning even had to put my crochet away..settling down now that Suzanne and Paul are off to Toronto office!
So glad Dianne that you are safe in the house with SantaWarren..has he been attempting to use his new laptop? ahh
Thunder sent goodies to entertain you..smart lady!
Crissy, sure do miss you, like Judy you always have sooo much going on.
LindaKay, thanks for keeping us updated on Faye and Ray..here is hoping the surgery will help.
Judy, you could do a rag quilt with materials you have..
ooops got to run
Miss you too Betty! Whats bad is I don't really have anything going on except for what's going on here at work, once I get home I don't want to do anything but sit on the sofa and do absolutely nothing.
Oh Betty - I got a chuckle out of you thinking my problems could be a result of your cooking!!!! Absolutely no connection. This is something that has been building up for quite a while and finally reared its ugly head.. I'll be fine - it will just take a bit longer than I hoped.
So happy for you Dianne and I can't wait to hear what the rest of your goodies are.. And I'm also pleased that the swelling in Warren's arms/wrists is going down. I still need to do a lymphodema massage on Norm due to swelling and it has been almost three years. If he overdoes it, he swells right up.
I'll be looking for you and Debbie next week but I don't think they will allow Storm or Izzy in the room with us!!! Heehee.
I've been sewing all day working on some paper pieced blocks for the other room. Slow going but i think they will be good ones.....
I want to thank all of you for your prayers. I'm feeling good about getting this done.

Crissy, you are not in a depression are you to be only working, going home to rest?? Have you thought anymore about getting a kittie, maybe you need to, would give you something to get excited about evenings...
Barb, practiced cooking and not burning so hoped I wouldn't poison you lol
Omg that block is beautiful..it would make a fantastic pillow ..can see it on my bed!
Is it a swap block or a new technique?
Not sure what the weather will bring tomorrow, doubt much of anything but I did transfer phones here....sooo will be able to sleep in past 7am...
Another couple of hours and I'll be done Marg (SIL) afghan...she's been I'll and in bed for a few weeks.....so, won't realize once I put it in a Xmas bag that it wasn't ready for Christmas.
Mom called tonight, guess she called Sharon to see if she would help her put the rag quilt blocks together and Sharon told her she was busy quilting her own quilt..shaking my head, so I imagine Saturday I'll get a call if weather is ok to help her...I don't mind really it is just none of other siblings seem to do anything
Sailor wants in, best I get a move on
Barb, good luck with the surgery although I know it will go fine. we all feel a little worried about any type of surgery. Enjoy the rest and I hope the hospital food is good so you can enjoy someone else's cooking. Had mine out back in the days when they cut you big time and keep you out of work for 6 weeks. Now it is keyhole and you are up and around soon. We will all be there for you.
YAY ! Dianne & Santa Warren got their Box from Thunder ! That swap was SUCH a fun idea... made Christmas even better than ever this year....
Hubby calling got to run....
Hey Janice, how are you feeling?
Mary, I agree, this swap was a very special one!
Morning all, am soooo relaxed (at least for now)
Slept in, coffee beside me, sale flyers to read, looking at chesterfield At the side pillow, hmmm just wont go there.
weather is mild, no sign of snow or freezing rain..get to work from home..just all around a nice feeling!
Upper floors washed, not fond of furry' paw prints all over, will tackle my bedroom closet and drawers between work calls, who knows, if I start soon enough I can still have most of the day to play.
barb with all posting of their gallbladder op's, it's sure to take some of the overwhelming dread of having it done a tad easier as the next few days go by. Can Norm take time off to be with you? Holding you close!
Dianne, has the ice melted or are you still house bound..hoping it won't be a long wait for alternate appt.
Janice so nice to see you post..you said when you were through with treatment and back to yourself you might take a run over my side of the border..sure hoping you can.either here or we can meet up somewhere..am sure m one of your friends would love to go road running with you..
Mary, have you got those meds regulated? Wouldn't want you to go looney tunes at work..speaking of work, are your co-workers gone now..hooe they do well, perhaps they can offer you a job when they get back on their feet!
LindaKay, meant to tell you I wasn't impressed with the rag slippers, nor was my sister Sharon so you might want to file that pattern.
Getting lazy, if i dont get a move on nothing will get done
bedroom floor should be dry enough for me to start cleaning my closet..think I'll target them during each tv commercial like I used to do..get a lot done that way
Oh My!!! I surely do thank all of you for your prayers and well wishes for my surgery next Friday. And Janice, I am not having the easy keyhole one. I have to have the old fashioned one where they cut from here to there. The easy one involves inflating the stomach with air which in turn pushes against the diaphragm which pushes against the lungs. With my breathing issues, I can't have that type of surgery so I get the whole shebang just like what you had years ago. I am going to be fine. Just a longer recoup than I had thought initially.
So I'm extra busy this next week between final tests for the hosp, a physical and getting things done here. So if I don't post often, that is why....
So now I'm off to get the laundry started. Hope everyone has a good day and I'll pop back in later.
PS Still sending my prayers out to all in need.
Barb - surgery on Friday the 20th? Hope your breathing issues are kept under watch.... will keep you in my prayers. I had mine "back in the dark ages" too.......... no vacuuming, etc for many weeks - couldn't even water my plants that needed a step stool to get to.
Betty - whenever I "do things during commercials" I generally do not get back to the TV - probably best, as there's a lot to get done lol
Mary -ARE your co-workers gone, and how is it with your boss behaving now????
Janice - wouldn't it be nice if you could meet up with Betty - hope this happens soon!
Susan, Janice and I met in Frankenmuth on Stacey's birthday several years ago and then again at Cookies (Joycet) for the reunion two years ago...lovely/lovely lady, lover her to bits..always nice to meet up with her!
As for t.v. it's just there for sound while I work on something..
Got closet done, ooohhh sister in law Marg who buys expensive clothing gave me an entire bag of blouses, jackets etc. size 16..too big for me, some still have tags on them..feel bad about putting them in a garbage bag to send off..wish I knew someone size 16 as not to offend Marg.
Almost done my bedroom, closet done/tall dresser done/ got to the other and someone had other plans..opened the top drawer, had a visitor, growling and clawing as soon as I come close to it..sooo must mean I'm done..lol
Now tell me who has 14 pairs of jammies/nighties...garbage city..filled 2 large bags for garbage just in my bedroom..shaking my head!
Betty, I know I say this a lot...but Nursing homes would love clothes for patients. Some have no family or a "stipend" to let them go out and shop. And they have nothing but sweats to wear on outtings or sit in hospital type gowns/pjs all day in the facility. IT really boost their moral to be able to get dressed and "fit it" normal life.
OHHH Want to wish KatieBear a very happy birthday today! I hope you have a great day!
still snowing here. Make it stop.
What a wonderful idea, Debbie! I'm sure the care homes would love them.
I have a bag full of stuff I've cleared out of my closet too....... I'll have to do the same!
Happy Birthday, Katie!! ^_^
Happy Birthday Katie, just know its a sunshine day in your neck of the woods..hope fellow neighbors come to celebrate with you..am sure Tony and family will give you the hug I'm sending!
Great idea Debbie, but remember the time I had last Christmas in them even accepting afghans I had knit..still wonder if the were given out..but, might try the woman's shelter...
Have about twelve purses to go bye bye as well.
Finally was able to 'scat' Missy with a magazine and will go dust, then fini in that room
Morning!
Oh so glad you are working from home Betty!!
Great ideas on the clothing...
Yikes, wonder whats up with Missy, hissing and clawing, very unusual isn't it?
Happy Birthday Katie! hope it is a fun filled day for you.
Well, I took a nice fall, slipped on the wet kitchen floor. I'm very achy from the crazy little dance I did...So will not do too much moving around today.
We had 6inches of snow fall yesterday, was very pretty but now it can melt and be done, lol. Yikes, Jake tried to snow blow and the pull broke off, sigh. Needless to say he is pretty upset about it. Other then that nothing happening, working on a quilt block...trying to paper piece.
Oh Barb, you Block is so pretty! The block i am trying is called "B" is for Butterfly-from Quilters Cache....Very cute, ok have to get Jake back to school soon.
See you in a bit.
Oh Betty, women s shelter is a wonderful idea. There is a "clothing closet" here that helps women get work clothes when re-entering the work place after training and being on their own due to domestic violence. I wonder if there is something like that in the area. Shelter would really know.
Judy, the snow is so pretty here....but with wind chill it is -4. Why can't it snow when it is 80 out and we can go out and enjoy it instead of dressing like the Michelin man? DD just left for work....she is to text soon as she gets there. It is nasty out.
Judy, sorry to hear you took a fall! OUCH! Please take it easy for the day? Maybe a hot shower will help with those aches and pains?
Debbie, hope you don't have to go out in that nasty weather?
There's our Izzy!! I so love that girl.
Happy Birthday Katie!Wishing you peace, health and happiness for the coming year.
Judy take Debbie's advice and have a nice hot soak and 'listen' to your own advice about taking it easy today. We just can't tumbles as well as we did when we were 20 can we?
We are right in the middle of an old fashioned winter storm. Reminds me of when I was growing up. Our plow guy came in early, early this mornng and I made a break for Foodland in the village at 8am for milk, bread, eggs and dog food..Between the ice from yesterday and this snowfall it looks like Dave will have to come in again before nightfall. Can't see across the lake for snow!
Great idea about donating the clothes to a women's shelter. There is an organization around this area that does exactly what Deb was talking about - helping women get back into the workforce. One of the things they are always calling for a clothes suited to wear to an office job, in a store -- places like that.
Body crashed on me and I zonked right out last night for a few hours. What a good sleep but the best part is I woke feeling settled and not on edge. Nice feeling! Haven't felt that much lately.
OK LK the cake you offered up to us for Katie's BD looks scrumptious. You will have to laugh at me.... I squirreled away the Dark Chocolate Kisses you sent for a rainly day. DH found them last night so I guess the rainy day is here.Think I am going to hide some of them though in another spot.lol
Wood stove is smacking its lips today and saying feed me more so best I had comply.
BBL
Dianne
Hi Everyone, Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I spent the morning doing yard clean up and blowing up at neighbor Tom. I rarely get angry and it's very rare for me to yell. However, I did it today. Long story and I think we'll all survive, I'd just finally had it with his "me first, last and only" atitude. My friend Barbara came by with her month-old puppy and we had a good visit.
Prayers for all, especially those with health stuff going on. My weight loss is now at thirty/five pounds and today I have very little pain (probably cause of all my yelling at Tom). I've been so upset with tom I've hardly slept the last two nights.
Still at the internet cafe. Waiting for the adapter which may fix my puter.
My neice will be in San Diego in early Feb and I think I'll be able to get up and have a visit with her. Havn't seen her in about fiftee years. My only family besides tony and his family.
Chilly today but sunny and clear. Beautiful blue skies.
hugs all around, katie
Judy - so sorry about your little "dance"..... Hope you're doing ok.
Betty - nice that you're working at home! Take it easy, hon!!!
Katie - glad you had a good visit with your friend, on your Birthday!
Having spaghetti, either it's a late lunch or an early supper..not sure which..went to use my right arm for lifting a glass of milk, had to use left one to help it along..but that is okay, remember the doc's say I'm 100% ++++. Been asking myself why every time I buy bread there seems to be an odd taste, always buy different brand, still odd taste, anyone finding bread taste odd?
Am so enjoying today, 1/2 and 1/2 on telephone and play..Lordy emptied one drawer, about 20 tops, washed again and ironed..so nice to pull a drawer and see everything in a row, at least for today!
Katie, sorry to hear that you had to do some yelling and it has upset you..especially today on your birthday! Drats that is not good. Katie, meant to ask is there a beach near your home that you could go sit and relax and enjoy?? Glad to hear you will be able to meet up with niece and what a place to meet up..I can only dream of such p,aces..
Grrr Judy, imagine you were rushing around like crazy, thus the fall..can be nasty, you will be hurting for sure over the next few days. Take advantage of it and rest! Let the others wait on you..won't hurt them. Lol. I never enjoyed doing patterns from quilters cache Judy..I'm on a new kick, no effort blocks..amazing once you do the technique sweat great blocks you end up with!
Dianne, bet it's not storming in your neck of the woods..been great all day, now blowing and snowing, bet you sent it my way. Could feel the day get cooler, turned up the fire, getting all cozy...hurrah for you getting a half decent sleep, a few more of those won't hurt..yikes, now I'm hungry for chocolate! Only chocolate around here is 'hot chocolate'
As for the clothing I was talking to Darlene and she said 'Wendat'. Indian organization that helps local tribe and those on Christian Island Indian Reserve so appreciate anything they get so will prepare one bag for ladies shelter and one for Wendat!
Darlene said she had a few setbacks today but otherwise doing ok. Tonight she and her parents are off to friends for supper, tomorrow Mike's brother and wife will come visit..Monday her sister and her husband will come to visit and I think maybe Tuesday weather permitting and she is feeling up to it she will come here and paint with the girls..I'm sure their antics will cheer her up. We were to have hadve day Mike died our Annual Christmas party so am sure they will bring food, gifts for her and it will be nice..nothing like having friends! Much like you all
Work shift over, Suzanne was at the office so she transferred telephones back to Barrie office..going for a soak in a hot tub, Jammie's and relax..one would almost think I'm a lady of leisure...
But if Debbie is snoozing, Judy relaxing, Dianne trying to rest then I'll fit right in!! Lol
I wish I was snoozing.....haven't been able too. Ordering text books for school and trying to find the best price. My head hurts
I would think Debbie you will need a migraine pill to help relax you! Are any of the text books in once used stores?? Surely after the students read/study for a year they have no need for them?
Want to lay all the rag quilt blocks on the floor to create a pattern but Sailor doesn't want to movement Riley looking outside (glad I made a long bench for them) and Missy just grabs the block..wonder if she found a catnip bag she might have hid in the summer!
I have the option to purchase "gently used" ones when selecting. The thing is finding them. I have a list of sites that sell...and
am doing just that. Problem is, making list....and going back to order, one on "hold" was since sold. Tis the season and they move fast.
Getting funds in order is a priority right now. THat takes a bit of help with the school/financing office.
Just got a message that Ray is going ahead with surgey today. Praying he is strong enough to make a speedy recovery!
Katie, sorry to hear you had a problem with your neighbor,,but I bet that little puppy made your day better!
You certainly have your hands full..waiting fir the day you are able to post..I'm so bored, life too quiet!'. Lol
Sending prayers LindaKay..guess no option but to operate!
my DH got some bad news today - go figure..... it's Friday the 13th...
He got let go from his new job, at 2:30 today. He's only worked there for just over a month, but one of the bosses (Nicole) doesn't like Bob. Nicole's boss likes my Bob, and he said if something changes and she's no longer there, then my Bob will get his job back. However, she's been there for 5 years and I don't suppose she'll be leaving the company.......
Last May, on Friday the 13th is when Bob lost his last job.......
I got some "possible" good news today....... the head guy in Calgary, John, came to tell me that it's been approved by Montreal to have my position become perm, now it's Washington's and then Paris' decision. If either of them don't want it perm, it will stay temp for awhile longer, As John said "it's stuck in Washington now".
Finally able to pop on here.
A Really Big Thank you for all the prayers and hugs from everyone.
I am so frustrated with doctors and nurses....
The results of everything says little mans heart is in great shape.
Now we are on to acid reflux YUP causes pain and volcano type burning in his chest.
Now we have to write all foods down and what triggers the pain, And his anxiety over school seems to have made thing worse.
Judy so sorry you did the dance hot bath and rest (if you can)
Happy Birthday Katie.
Waving to all.....
Barb sounds like the room will be full so I will be with you in spirit. And sending hugs.
Gotta run time for meds for my little man.
Oh soooo windy and only30 here but no snow.
Laura - glad it's not heart prob for your little fella! Acid reflux ain't fun, f'surer!!
btw - re: my news - decision is to be made by Feb 10th, so I have some waiting to do......
Thank you Susan and I am truely sorry to here Bob lost his job that just stinks.
But sounds like you have some great news....keep my fingers crossed.
Bob's 61, and it's tough for him...... He says he'll take some inner-city driving jobs, cuz he's sure there are some of those available.......... He'll get a reference from Nicole's boss, Ray.
Hello To All !
Goodness Susan... sorry about that... sounds like he'll land on his feet though... Judy - Does Jake not know his own Strength? LOL... sorry about your fall gal... please take it easy...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATIE ! Hope you can shake off that anger... shame on him...
HA - by the time I get a chance to post someone's already posted....re: finding a consignment store or charity..for those clothes...
Susan & Betty - now ya'll need to watch those TV commercials... and help support us overworked underpaid tv commercial salespeople!
Yes - The 2 girls last day was Friday... they had a cake for them both (imagine one was there 14 years!). Now witchy poo has to do their jobs, hire replacement, and work on giving out accounts. Poor thing.
She actually tried to smile at me the other day....but all I could see were her teeth and it really scared me !
TGIF ! It's been a long week. I see your snow and think of vacation I suppose that's the only time I've ever been around snow. Imagine trying to work in it ??? HA!
Will pop back in a bit ((HUGS))
Mary
