Hello To All !
What wonderful Pictures !
Liz - you done good girl ! Beautiful bottle lamp... wonder how to make that ? Thunder - your snowmen are SO cute ! Love the 365 days a year Tree.... in honor of our servicemen....
LK - Heather must have spent a lot of time on that stocking.... I've actually crosstiched a thing or two back a long time ago and the detail in that is wonderful....
Oh Deb.. Happy Happy news. I'm also impressed that Shane is thinking about his future. Can you bottle that and mail it to me for DS19 ? Suse so glad you got Christmas with your Mom....
Thea - YES - the book re: Seedfolks on pg 93 IS "The Borning Room" I just finished reading it today and will mail to you after I read it again.. was almost as good a book as Seedfolks...
will get Dianne and Judy's out to them... within the week.... Dianne... Whew so glad you had an angel with you how scary on the ice.
I'm about to email you Dianne...
Barb... ME TOO... time to get rid of "stuff" ! Wish I had the motivation... but we have gone through a few stacks over the holidays...
((HUGS)) Katie for bringing the Santa Spirit to your area !
Betty - so sweet of you to mention DS's comment re the pic... Hand on hip as they say.. you listen to these ladies on here who know so much more about Medical stuff than I do... I'm tired of you having those headaches!
Back to work today....
Girls went to Bio Mom's yesterday which is always stressful. Hubs and I started the Puzzle (Bev's idea) after they left and it gave us some quiet time together. I never knew DH could get so addicted to a puzzle !
Any way DD18 and DD19 texted DH to tell him what Their mom gave them for Christmas.... Cabbage Patch dolls, barbie stuff... temporary tattoos.... clothes from Limited Too....
Hmmm.
Anyway love and miss you guys...
Mary
Best/worse/what did I learn today-chat with friends
oh my goodness and to think i mailed that on the 12th,
glad you like it all and the sleigh project is alot of fun was my favorite workshop!
hope you can make them soon , oh yes i do pay attention lol make lots of notes on who collects what sort of things....
Sure sounds like everyone had a wonderful Christmas. It seems Santa was very good to us all - so I think I am safe to assume we were all very good little girls last year.lol
Laura are you still sewing round the clock?
Last treatment for DH today during the lunch hour.To say he is excited to have this round of treatmeant over is an understatement.
Oh Debbie I am so happy for Shane and for you that a Dorm room opened up. When does he start school in January? Going to be a difficult adjustment for you all.
Make sure you all do something nice for yourself today everyone!
Dianne
Morning everyone. Fresh pot of a dark Columbian Roast all ready for one and all. Made Lemon Loaf but I have to warn you it is very lemony just the way we like it.Come help yourself.
Santa bought me some premixed kits for Lemon/Poppyseed and Blueberry/Cranberry Scones. One morning I will surprise you and have them hot out of the oven.Santa knew I have a fondness for scones.
Very cold here this morning. How about you Betty.Thea and Debbie? Snow and blowing snow forecasted for today.
Love all your snowmen Thunder. I have one piece that is a Snowman Planter - do you work with wood? If you did I could at least give you the measurements and draw up the basic design of the snowman and then you could get creative from there. If you used heavy enough wood for the stand it probably could be a stool for someone to sit on.
Must say the very expensive wedge pillow that the Palliative Care doc recommended is worth its weight in gold. Oh my am I impressed!! I have had to poke DH for snoring a few nights once he started using this wedge. You have no idea how wonderful it is to hear Warren snore rather than having that laboured breathing and wheezing.
Hope Susan is having a great time in Winnipeg or 'The Peg' as it is referred to here in Canada.
Betty how are you feeling today? Make sure you take this time to pamper yourself this week. Remember you need to pamper yourself and I am sure you can do it in Betty style.Treat yourself as you treat your guests!!
Crissy what did Dave end up buying you? Hope you had a blast shopping.
And what planet does the bio mom of your DSDs live on Mary? Wow, that is some choice of gifts for 2 young women.
Need to get wood into the house to last today and tonight.Best get going as there will be no good fairy coming along to do it.
Dianne
Morning everyone! Thanks for the coffee and lemon loaf! Praying Santa Warrens last treatment is an easy one! Glad to hear Warren is sleeping better with that special pillow!
I will be gone for a few days, going to San Antonio for the last Christmas of the year! I will be back Friday afternoon!
Safe travels LK! Are there Grandkids to celebrate Christmas with in San Antonio?
Dianne
Morning all..sure is white out there..waiting for Andrew to plow, must move my vehicle for him so staying close and watching..winter wonderland out there, so very pretty!
Woke up about 4:30' usually I get up but said 'no,no' and stayed in bed until 7:30..being a good girl..maybe it's more my body is saying 'no can do', very lightheaded..lots to play with today so will play, clean and rest in regular intervals!
Thunder, first thing you need to do is base oat the mdf after cutting the sleigh design..I did it mid grey value that way when I do my smoothing it will blend in better with sky and snow!
If you follow the link and do one step at a time while checking photo's and I'm always around, you will have no trouble..barb made 4 while visiting this fall and enjoyed doing them. Absolutely love all your Christmas decor..
Mary, glad you are enjoying puzzle time with DH! Wondering, are those Christmas gifts appropriate for your step-daughters or were they theirs years ago and she thought they would be treasures..
Dianne, scones, could it be tomorrow for breakfast..talk about sounding delicious! I'd say well worth the $$ if Santa Warren is sleeping well with it..amazing that such things bring on relief.
Mom just called to check up on me, says her breathing is a bit better..says she's up to going to Buffalo for a day trip if I want to go..not likely lol. They were in a car mishap on the way home from the cottage last night, guess roads were icy and Jim slid off road into a field when he was taking a corner, but all are fine..had to wait an hour though for tow truck..was. Old for them..nice lady went home and got coffee, muffins and a blanket..nice people out there!
As I walk around the house, I've been filling up totes with Christmas treasures, dropped and broke 3 so far..better just work with soft things.
LindaKay, have fun with the family...
Liz, I remember the girls faces when they put the pink dap on the sleighs, didn't look quite right then like magic it turned white...
Did you and Kenny go fishing yet!
Good Morning!!
Singing...Happy Birthday Dianne, Happy, happy Birthday to you!!
Also, Happy Anniversary Santa Warren and Mrs. Santa!!!
Sure hope you have safe travels to the last radiation treatment. Awe so glad to hear about a the pillow.
Linda Kay, Have a wonderful Visit.
Wonderful way to wake up again,
Oh Wow, Thunder, smiling away at your Presents from Liz!! As usual she did an incredible job, very creative for sure...Love all the presents you received. Loved seeing your snowman/village collections! And OH The Christmas Bear tree is awesome, what I beautiful new piece the Bottle light!! Yep, i hope you have so much fun creating the Victorian Santa sleigh cant wait to see your creation!
LIZ, you did Fantastic, omg! What patients you have with all those pins and sequence on the snowman, that had to have taken serious time!!
Ohwah, what a great reference to see your helping picture, ahhhh, podge, music to my eyes, lolol.
Betty, wow, you had a serious shopping day! Sounds like fun and glad you found some things for just because!! Sounds like your day will include some more very casual moving about. OMG, you are so funny, had to laugh aloud your already thinking about knitting for next Christmas!! Oh am so smiling that everyone loved the quilts you made, each one pieced all/or much of the year, with loving thoughts for each, wowwee, you always. always amaze me.
Well, I did not bounce around as i wanted to yesterday, lol I began reading and that was real nice to do nothing, I sat in my chair covered in my Christmas quilt, feet up and read until 2:AM!! I have just one last chapter, lol nothing like getting lost in a book! Will most likely finish this morning...
Well, during stretching time, moved slowly to get house in a bit of order...
Linda kay, Hope your trip is wonderful!!
Also, Hoping Susan is having a great visit too...
For now, thanks for coffee and Yahh, lemon loaf, yummy.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIANNE!!!! May this one be special for you and may you have many many more.....
Back to purging!!
Dianne, do you crochet?
Oh Happy happy birthday, Dianne! I'd sing to you, but honestly ... you don't want me to. ☺
I'm so glad our Santa Warren is almost done with his treatment again, and he has a comfy pillow ... Y'all give each other a hug. Is it your anniversary, also?
Susan, have a wonderful and safe trip ...
Linda, you too! TX is a state I want to visit one day ... The DH had business out there , but at the time I was working and didn't get to go with him. He won't go without me again. LOL
Thunder, you've *really been on my mind all during the holidays. ☺
Debbie, more adjustments on the way? Oh, but it sounds like you're doing so much better! I've been breathing a sigh of relief ...
Thea, I've been enjoying my angel so much ... I love all my pressies, but my angel is very special to me ...
Barb, I hope you're feeling better. When do you go back to the Dr? With all the Christmas excitement, I've forgotten.
Betty, sit down and take care of yourself until you can get in touch with your Dr.
Okay, there goes the clock ... Need to get up from here ...
Y'all take care ... Waving to those I've missed.

snowman took 3days i would have to walk away from it pins were getting to me, just happy it finally got there oh did your card show?
everyone have a great day
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIANNE!!!!!!! Have a wonderful wonderful day!!!!
Dave didn't get me anything, we went shopping knowing it was supposed to pour rain all day, well the first half of the day was shopping for him, we went to 2 pawn shops and he found a metal rabbit trap for $10, I didn't find anything and by then it had been pouring for about 2 hours and the streets were starting to flood and people are idiots and we couldn't see the hood of my car so we came home. I have a cold, yesterday a fever all day, wanted to work a half day so this paperwork wouldn't get too backed up on me, but seems that everyone is sicker than I am even though they don't have fevers or aren't congested or coughing or anything else, whatever, ended up working until 4 instead of 5. I came in this morning and they said, "It's Christine." and one of my co-workers just rolled her eyes, seems like I might be ready for a change, I'm not going to be treated like this because I'm not part of a clique, which is all that it is. I don't get paid enough to put up with this crap. My boss is still awesome and is on the other side of the hallway so he doesn't see any of this. This is the same co-worker who was talking about me to the director "I don't want to get anyone in trouble but Christine...." and didn't shut the door and I was standing right there.
Anyway, enough of that soap box. LOL Dave wants to go out tonight because he's off tomorrow, I'm not off tomorrow and with this cold I'm not very willing but he's text all of his friends that he'll be out. I'm wondering how much more selfish he is going to get!
Debbie I am so glad that Shane is looking out for his future!
Betty thanks for sharing the pics. Glad you're resting and NOT going with your mom, it snowed some in Buffalo and Niagara last night.
Thunder now that just looks cozy, perfect for cuddling up with a blanket and hot chocolate. I'll be there in a few hours LOL!
Liz/Thunder WOW look at all those goodies!!!! Liz you're handiwork is sooo nice, Thunder that's worth the wait!
Waving to Everyone!!!! Going to get back to work.
Snowed some? Yes, and it is STILL snowing. The Red Cross just called and wanted to change DH's donation as the roads are getting bad up in Rochester. Considering the blood blanks are so low they called him, it must be bad to want to change it. BUT said will stay for 3:00 for now...but might call again if it continues.
Shane took my van to work, just couldn't let him walk/ride bike in the mess out there. I had no place to go...but he hasn't driven in snow before. At least only going 1 1/2 miles from home and all "home town" in between. Gotta start sometime.
Happy birthday Dianne, and happy anniversary to you and Santa Warren..will you or he be cooking each others favorite meal..don't forget the candles and soft music..know you have the fireplace going!
Debbie, bit over a foot of snow here, seems odd to see snow bank in the yard,,was gabbing with Greg, Kyle,Noah and Melanie are away, Kyle wants to come home seeing we have snow..guess he figures he can snowmobile. Lol. See all the neighbors with snowblowers going, sure glad I have my yard plowed!
Debbie, am sure Shane will be ok..maybe you should have him drive you around a bit icon snowy days so you set to see ow he handles the van.
Crissy, you haven't been happy at your job in some time..hard to quit when there are so few jobs out there it it not worth staying if it will affect your sanity. Stay home girl and get yourself better.
Must say I'm behaving, know my limits these days..been gabbing a lot on the telephone which just isn't me, not fond of telephones, but trying to rest as I do so...about 3 more totes filled and there will be no signs of Santa left in my house..will make lunch, vacuum and dust and that will be all the housework I'll take on for the day..
Greg called, said he thought I'd be in Florida today lol. Told him I had a nasty guardian son who would have freaked out had I done so..says he's glad I'm getting smarter
Please don't tell my mom, Sharon asked if I wanted to meet up with her maybe Friday morning and go to buffalo to Joann's...if I knew they would have Christmas fabric left I just might do..we'd have to go on the sly and not tell mom....also, would go only if I had someone to go with from here..we'll see what tomorrow will bring
Liz, I'd say the ny time you would get away with spending $10 is if you left cash and credit cards home..but look at the $$$ you saved! Kenny would be proud of you.
Thea, what are you up to today, much snow? Know they said it was heading your way and Dianne's way

Betty I'm not really unhappy here, I'm just not fulfilled. I know I can do better and since I work for the State a job transfer would be easy, if I could get the job first LOL! I wouldn't quit unless I had a job to go to.
Debbie yup you have to start sometime, as long as it's not ice. I hate driving in that crap, snow, ice, sleet, whatever, hate driving in it.
Dave's being so selfish he's borderline narcissistic. Wonder what flipped the switch in his little brain.
Crissy, I have found out that children that come from large families...or are close to being the youngest...have that issue. They no longer want to "share" or wait their turn...its all about them NOW. My DH is the oldest of 7....and he has it bad. A grown man sending out a Christmas list...and sometimes his is done before the kids "wish list".
Especially if the family did without a lot growing up
Sorry to hear about Dave Crissy, could it be Christmas blues? No fun spending holidays when your mate is on a downer.
Put up my cafe curtains and don't like them..toppers ok, just don't like bottoms., now what?
Imagine, I'm laying down at 2:00 in thevafternoon, Seems such a waste of ones time.
June dropped in with a cowal pattern and some wool..just knit 1 /purl 1 so might do knitting for awhile!
As I lay here looking outside I see how beautiful it is..should be out shoveling but won't.
How is your day going everyone?
My day is dragging! Filled out about 20 forms for the college that DS couldn't do (financial). Thats ready to send off.
Looks like he will move in up there Jan. 20th...which is our Anniversary. SO, that will be a hard day, but it is much needed.
Betty we only have a few inches of snow in our area, but it is blowing really bad...which makes for that icy haze on the road.
My poor Pup is having a hard time, I think ear infection. Have appt. to take her to vet tomorrow....DH took off early to help.
Tomorrow night we have a "family" gathering for DH's family. I think I am coming down with the chicken pox or something.....I am sure I have spots. Might eat some soy or chinese...so I am sick and can't go. I do not do "drama" and "fake" well. And ever since "this" happened...I do not put up with anyones drama and bite my tongue. Have mercy! Especially after the TV gift issue ....how rude!
Just popping to see that you are behaving!! LOL I think you know when you have hit the limit and you have this time. It's a wise woman who knows when to stop and get better.
I have Sean again this afternoon for a while. His parents have gone to a funeral and Brandon will pick him up around 5. He is thrilled with the electronics he got for Christmas so he is no
trouble at all. Between that and Papa's computer, he entertains himself. I like it because I am right next to him and can glance every now and then. He is really good about not going where he is NOT allowed and he is the first one to tell me if he isn't supposed to eat or drink something I may offer to him. He has made the decision that too much sugar is not good and that he is the one who has to control it. He's such a great kid.
I have been cleaning in the sewing room and now I'm working on patterns. I have down-loaded and bought so many!!! I've been putting them in plastic sleeves and into a binder. At least now they are all in one place. After we get the major work of paring down done, I'll go back through them and weed out the ones I have done or that may be in electronic storage. Then I can organize them according to type - sewing, cross-stitch, crochet etc. Each will have it's own binder aand then I'll break them down more according to sizes and seasons etc. It surely keeps me out of trouble!!!!
You are really getting the snow Betty. We had that big storm with 2 feet just before Halloween and have only had a couple of dustings since. Our ski area are going crazy. It has been cold enough to make snow at night but then it gets up into the 40s during the day and it turns to slush. We need some cold weather so it will stay around for a while. Only on the ski slopes of course!!!!
Hoping that Dianne and Warren made it to and from the hospital safely today. I think it is Warren's last x-ray day. What a way for them to spend their anniversary!! My thinking is -they are together and that's all that matters.
Off to sort some more fabrics. Stay put on the Chesterfield Betty. We are with you......
Barb, ski slopes are just now open for business..been hard for them to keep the man made snow..they'll be smiling for sure at this weather..with kids home from school parents will be thrilled they are open, night tubbing always high on kids list.
Debbie, will indeed be a hard day seeing Shane off to college..starting of empty nest syndrome I'm sure. He seems to have his head on straight and will take advantage of college living but focusing on his studies. Did I miss the television drama??
Barb, wish you lived closer so you could help me get organized..disaster city! Not sure how that happened as it was fairly clean for Christmas..I'll work my way downstairs eventually..fun looking at patterns and possible projects isn't it..ahhh to dream the day away.
Still in my Jammie's, guess I will stay in them until tomorrow. Lol
Not sure if Greg will come for supper tonight seeing as he's plenty of snowplowing to get done..I've plenty of leftovers so I'm ready should he decide to do so..
Thought it was a soup kind of day, have one simmering, using up left over veggies..had a small turkey we didn't use up on Sunday so just carved it, p,entry of meat for soup..kitties enjoyed a treat as well..
Debbie sorry to hear about your pooch..hooe the vet can get him back on his feed with meds.
Dianne, anxious to hear how your day went..
Brrr feeling the cold, just turned up the furnace.
Bet there are a few of you southerners sitting out in the sunshine right? Lucky souls..
Betty, it's not that warm here ... wind blowing and is a chilly 61. Tonight will be 31. Brrr. This week-end will be back up to 70. Yea! Moses and I did go for a walk but with wind it was coooold. We have that humidity going on so 61 is sorta bone chilling with the wind.
Debbie, I missed the tv affair also? Which baby isn't feeling well? Moses sends doggie drool. LOL
Crissie, {{{ }}}
Barb, wow ... good kid!
Hey, I got this neat little clock from my sister ... Did I already tell y'all?
Dianne and Warren prayers going out to the both of you ...
Mary, what's your weather doing?
Okay, back to my thank you notes ...
Izzy isn't feeling well, I think she has an ear infection Suse. I don't think it is a "biggy" she just needs them checked.
Well, the TV incident. For Christmas, DH wanted to get his parents a new TV for their bedroom. Theres was at least 25 years old...a little 13 inch tube tv. It had finally died. SO, we found a 24 inch Tv in a "safe" price range for us....and got it for them.
Took it up on the morning after Christmas, they opened it....and then Mother in law said the comment "Well, I guess Dad will be happy...but that isnt' for me!" I was SO upset, walked in the bathroom to take about 20 breaths and calm. She lays in bed EVERY morning and watches her shows (good morning America & talk shows) and if she has even the slightest headache or anything...she heads to bed to watch TV and rest. I just thought it was so very rude of her to say that after we spent over $200 (which doesn't come easy around here) on them both for some enjoyment. I am still ticked. I was raised to be grateful if someone hands you an apple even though you were expecting an orange.
Happy Anniversay to you Dianne and Warren and Happy Birthday Dianne!! How special to have two celebrations in one day. I sure hope that you had good driving to the CC. I can imagine that you and Santa Warren are all happy to be finished with the radiations. Now cuddle up at home and enjoy each others company :)
Here the roads are all icey with big snowdrifts on top of it. It was beautiful to have a white Christmas, but now it can all melt if it were up to me...lol
Winterstorm going on here...blowing like crazy and tonight the temperature will drop to -18C (-1F) and with the windchill to -24C (-11F). So we all will be huddled up inside too!
Barb...you sure sound like you are on a mission with the purging!!! If in case you have fabric leftover that you can`t find a "home" for...I would gladly take it of your hands and send it to the orphange in Belarus. Our local Rotary Club has donated used Sewing machines and we will be sending some fabric to them as well. I had sewing with drawl over the Holidays (we celebrated 3 days) and yesterday I started a snowflake table runner for my living room and guess whose fabrics I used!!! Turned out very nice...will take a pictures once it is quilted.
Suse...so glad you still love the Christmas Angel!! I don`t think you have mentioned the little clock you received from your sister...soooooo tell us all about it!! Makes me happy that you had a great Christmas with your Family...always hard when all of a sudden one person is missing from the celebrations...just remember your Daddy is with you all the time and keeps an eye on you and your family. Bigggg Hugs and ohhhhhh almost forgot...Thank you so so much for your Christmas Card and note...showed it to my sister and she really liked it too!!
Sooooo Misses Betty...are you finally going to slow down and give your body a break??!! You have us all worried about yourself soooo please stay put, feet up and do once in a while just NOTHING..the cleaning can wait. To be blunt...nobody would care if you had a dirty house if you end up in the hospital or worse!! And go pester your doctor...this dizziness and headaches are nothing to joke about.
Thunder...those snowmen and lamp Liz made for you are just adoreable!! Like you I just love those little snow guys...after New Years I always decorate my house with snowmen and snowflakes and the likes. After I am done the tablerunner I will go and make a few snowman WallHangings...found some great pattern. Soooo glad you have Soldierboy back in the USA and I can`t wait until you post that you held him in your arms!!!
Debbie...what great news that your son has a Dormroom...and yes it will be hard when he leaves but he is still close enough and not out of the country. And in todays age with FB and texting it is very easy to stay in contact!!
Judy...that Christmas Tree is sooo beautiful...bet you wish you could keep it inside year round!! lol I love the armwraps you are sending us and I sure do hope I will get one in person in 2012!! Your Christmas Card hasn`t found it's way to my house yet...lol...takes the very longggggggg scenic route...lol
Susan I hope you have a great time with your Family in Winipeg!!!
Well now I have NO clue what else I read!!
Big Big hugs to you all and have a great day
Love Thea
Oh and here is my favourite Gift...it is from my kids...a limited edition yellow Swarovski Christmas Ornament...it sparkles soooo beautiful in the christmas lights
Stilll no computer battery. Neighbor Dana is letting me use hers. I miss 24/7 contact with my friends here.
Tony and I did major rearranging of the kitchen yesterday. I think we are approaching the permanent arrangement. Also getting another big section of the living room wall brown bagged. Lots of dust and I had a small crying jag today, as my dust allergy added to my pain was a bit much. Tony was gone by then so it was OK. Jennynear the Dog snuggled with me.
Had a great pre-Christmas experience this year. What would have been a major depression and terrible time any other year was three "down" days about a week before Christmas. It was kind of strange. I get as much as I can done early as I don't know what might hit me as the day draws near. I do not have a lot of happy Christmas memopries from prior to starting my Santa gig (Ha - and you thought I do it for the kids - what the kids get is a bonus - I do it to give myself and happy Christmas experience). Anyway, I woke up about a week before Christmas with almost no energy. Stayed in bed and watched videos and read. Whatever was going on lsted three days. Tony came and worked everyday and checked on me. After the first day I said "I think I'll be back tomorrow and we both laughed. It was three days in bed, total lethargy. The dogs got dry food - almost unheard of and the best indicator of my inability to get anything done. However, and here is the miracle, I wasn't depressed. Not, at least, like I usually experience depression. No tears or unpleasant memories or fits of rage. Just a mental vacation of sorts. I think the main reason was that Tony is around and he knows I always come back so he stays concerned and available but totally calm and that allows me to get through whatever it is without panicking. If I am his angel, he is my rock.
I recovered well in time to do my Santa thing. And, I'm Santa, not Mrs. Santa. I am invited to Tony's family gatherings but find I do better if I do the Santa thing and then stay home with the dogs.
I usually have a post Christmas surge of energy as I realize I've m ade it through another one without getting drunk or crazy and managing to avoid all the ungrateful types that have ruined so many holidays (my father even died on Thanksgiving - he never missed a chance to ruin a holiday).
Glad for all of you who had great holdiays and pleasant memories. For those of you who had the other kind,, next year you can come to Mexico and be elves. Nothing upsets the ingrates more than to have people just go someplace else. There are always people who are grateful for what we do; sometimes we just have to search for them. I had Dana amused when I told her that I stopped going to the AA meetings here because I didn't like them and several of the people were either deliberately rude to me to behaving badly in the meetings. They were furious when I quit attending after several unsuccessful attempts of improve the meetings. I realized the only time I wanted to drink was when I was at an AA meeting so I stayed away. There's an AA belief that if you don't go to meetings you will drink so I guess they thought I'd feel I had to keep going to stay sober. They are quite annoyed that I'm not only still sober but much happier without them. AA saved my life 25 years ago so I did not make the decision lightly but I don't regret it.
We had the mnost beautiful blue and pink sunrise this morning. Today has been warmer than we've had in a few weeks. We can finish up the kitchen/living room work in a few days and get back to the garden.
Must go pack up some dusty books so our work can continue.
Thank you all for being here and sharing your lives with me.
hugs, katie
Omg Debbie, it would have taken me more than 20 deep breaths, you didn't say anything?? How about Paul, did he speak up? I'd have said ' how rude of me, you are sooo right, should not have assumed it would suffice as a gift for both' packed it us and it would be spring before I'd bring them a little replacement gift..nothing would have kept me from saying SOMETHING!
Suse, that weather would be hot for me..sure would have been nice..what is your new clock like? Glad you are able to get to walk with Moses..being a young pup imagine he needs a lot of exercise!
Need canned tomatoes for my soup, wonder is anyone would notice if I put my long coat on that I'm wearing Jammie's ndernesth..still snowing, lots of snowmobiles up and down the street
Betty, DH has no backbone for standing up to anyone....especially anyone in his family. He all but cowers if faced with anything. Even the children get away with murder because he won't confront them with any of their wrong doings....I have to be Mom/Dad/badguy all the way around. DH only wants in on the "fun".
Katie, i'm so very glad that this year you only needed a short vacation from life and yourself and you are back full of life and looking forward to the upcoming season without even thinking of a drink..you always have us should you need someone to encourage you! Thank goodness for Tony! Sure hope when you finish the bagging you can share a photo..
You know, I can't remember an unhappy Christmas, well perhaps one, when Roger was dying in the hospital, but not your kind of unhappy holidays..guess like many others we take the festivities, the arcing and the loving is what all families do..thank the Lord for what I take so lightly.
Think it's soon time to call it a day..head hurting
Not good Debbie, I'm not one to confront anyone, but notice lately I'm not so accepting to rudeness. The comments by your MIL would have brought out the nastiness in me for sure...
Glad everyone seemed to have a good Christmas and I did too. My two friends came down from Lansing on Friday and left again on Christmas Eve. Spent Christmas Day with the family in Toledo. Jonathan was so much fun! He is walking as long as he can hold onto something and he has several toys to help him do that. DS the chef made a wonderful dinner and sent us all home with goodies. I made some bean soup with the bone from our Christmas ham.
My oldest DS who is just finishing a nasty divorce baked cookies with his two teenage sons. They used my
grandmother's recipes and did a wonderful job. I think they had a good time, too. The boys were with their mother who took them to New Orleans for Christmas so I sent their gifts home with dad.
I promised the Radiation Center where I did my treatments several rag quilts for the chemo room. People need to cover up and I saw some who were using their coats. I bought fabric at JoAnn's on sale and with an additional 15% off coupon so I should have it done by the end of the week. The quilt shop had a sale also and I picked up some really expensive Christmas fabric at a good price for next year.
Now that I am done with Radiation I need to get rid of this cough I have. Dr. today gave me anti-biopics and other stuff for the cough so I hope that takes care of it.
Betty, I know I am not the first or the last to tell you that you need to take care of yourself and not go gallivanting around while you are having headaches and fuzzy eyes. I know it is difficult for those of us who have always been healthy to deal with not being able to do all we would like but it is IMPERATIVE that you pace yourself and set priorities. I found that once I accepted the fact that I couldn't do all I wanted and took things one at a time I really got more done than I expected. Christmas decorations for instance. They will stay up until after New years and then will do them one box at a time, rest for a while and then another box. I'll wait until DS can come over to put them away instead of insisting that " I DO IT MYSELF!"
This attitude let me get everything done that I wanted before Christmas and even baked 4 batches of cookie, which I didn't think were going to get done this year. So take it from someone who knows..SLOW DOWN! Love you all much.
Have a Happy and Healthy New Year everyone.
Janice, how thrilled I am to hear your Christmas was extra special this year..am behaving, thus the chesterfield. Like you, all the totes sit on back deck until Kyle comes back from vacation and can put them in back shed..normally I'd be doing it myself.
I'm sure Janice the hospital and patients will appreciate the rag quilts.
Hard to imagine these chemo/radiation units don't have what it takes to make everyone warm and comfy! How they will be used..
I've flannel blocks left over from Cathy and mom's rag quilt, if i made a few more i might have enough for cover ups.. I should check and see if our hospitals are in need. Guess all can do with more!
Is Stacey back working? Imagine, Jonathan now walking, before you know it, it's kinder garden time.
Hello to All !
I was sad when I woke up this morning and looked at my calendar and realized I would not be the FIRST to tell Dianne and Dianne & Santa Warren "Happy Birthday" and Happy Anniversary ! but THEN I cheered up cuz maybe I can be the LAST of the day.... with the Night Shift LOL.... Hope it was a good one Dianne ! ((HUGS)) and more ((HUGS))
RE: the DSD's Dianne loved your comment. She lives on the Planet of Mississippi LOL... okay I went to school there so I'm not putting that state down dont' want to get anyone's dander up. But there is a reason that Hubs has custody and I dont' know if her mental state is getting worse or if the girls are older and we are now "hearing" the stories they didn't used to tell us. Betty - those gifts were all brand new & in the box... Hubs texted them that maybe keep them in the box and we can donate to charity when they get home (tomorrow)
and the girls later texted us that their DM was mad that they weren't "playing" with the dolls. Oh dear....
Crissy - support headed your way gal... you have to be happy at work... it's where you spend most your time unfortunately and I'm telling You and Me that at the same time....
DEB ((HUGS)) For your support for the Red Cross. Sorry for the episode of "Mother in Laws behaving Badly".... that was just horrid. Yes Hubs should have supported you but my DH is same as your DH which is why the DSD's treated me so badly in years past with no repercussions.
Are you and DH Moving Shane in on Jan 20? if so maybe find some great restaurant and something to do over there, move him in and enjoy the day out of town?
Sending (HUGS) topped with Soy Sauce your way snicker snicker....
Suse ... We've had sunshine here but it's SO COLD ! Only got up to 61 today and I had to wear a COAT ! (Okay I am beinga bit facetious LOL but I am not good with cold weather). Read any good books lately? I've got Judy's "Bridges of MadisonCounty" and Eragon on my short list.
Oh Thea... I do love Swarovski crystal ! more than diamonds (like I have any !) how pretty...
Katie - I am SO Proud of you for keeping the depression away... I'm sure it has a lot to do with all the cheer you spread around and happiness you bring to the children.
Lady dragon... New Orleans for Christmas ? Do they have family here? How wonderful for doing the rag quilts for a donation...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIANNE !
Happy ANNIVERSARY Dianne & Warren!
Will pop back in a bit...
Mary
Happy Birthday Dianne, Happy Anniversary Dianne and Warren....
Deb, I would have taken the tv back !!!
Lemon loaf sounds delicious !! I love lemon....
Yes I do wood....well I used to, it has been quite awhile. I used to make lots of little wooden do-dads, nick knacks, wall hanging things, shelves, small furniture, yard art...used to sell at craft shows, lots of fun, and lots of work...never made a lot of money at it, but enough to buy more wood, and paints, and pay the next vending fee......then hubs had his accident :( and when he was well enough to be left alone, I went to work full time, had three little kids, and hubs pay dropped by 2/3rds....we needed more money than I could make with the crafts.....I still did some here and there, for awhile, and did an occasional house party.....but I don't think I have cut a piece of wood in the last 10 years !!!
some where along the line I started making jewelry, and more Native American Art (dream catchers, etc) and then started selling at a few Pow wows, did that on and off for awhile......all the while sewing and quilting, for family and friends.....now I do more quilting, occasionally make some jewelry....I have tons of beads, and I really enjoy doing stuff with them, but I enjoy quilting more, and don't find many reasons to make any jewelry......and one can only put so many dream catchers up in ones house!!! ^_^ LOL
thanks for the photo Liz....I am looking forward to cutting a sleigh, actually thinking I may do two of them, and send one off to one of my sisters!! she loves Santas but I most likely won't get around to doing it till late January / early Feb...I really have to catch up on some sewing, from when I was sick. I still have a cough, but much less often, than it was...and I feel way way better....
speaking of being sick.....I am sure you have all figured out that Dianne is My Christmas buddy. She sent me a "letter from Santa" telling me they both wanted me to just rest and get better.....so that is what I did. Got to listen to Santa!!!! well I am much better, and have finished my gift...It will be in the mail tomorrow...........Guess I should learn not to wait till the last minute :( but some of my best creations come from "being under pressure" like at a deadline!!!!
Dianne, and Warren, I thank you for the patience , and allowing me to feel ok about "working on getting better" I was very upset about not getting done, and mailed....then I got the lovely note you sent...thank you....
I hope the package does not take forever to get there, and I hope you find it worth the wait.....love and Hugs ♥♥♥
Happy Birthday Dianne, and happy anniversary to you both! Hope you had a great day.
Dianne, I am in San Antonio for Christmas with my Granddaughter.
I Need more prayers please? Heather is back in the hospital with an upper respiratory infection, and the baby is not getting enough oxygen, so they have her on oxygen, as well as antibiotics. My friend Katie, got a phone call from her Dr. a little while ago, and told her she needs to start chemo in a few weeks, as they did not get all the cancer. It was not contained in her uterus like he thought.
Oh Linda Kay, Prayers for Heather and the baby....and for your dear friend. My Aunt Mary is going through the same thing as your friend. Had surgery and now waiting to start chemo...possibly next week. There needs to be a cure for all! When is the due date for Heather?
Mary, do you think I will be in any shape after dropping "the baby " off at college?? Will be having to explain my red eyes and blubbering. lol I did with the First one....then she was home every weekend!! Same with the second one....just saw it coming. SO, the girls were easier....they just kept coming back. LOL And you know "The Childs" situation. DS will be different....he is a bit over 2 hours away, no car out there...so probably not coming home every weekend. So he says!
Dianne, more hugs and birthday & anniversary wishes coming your way!
Debbie
Thank you all so much for the borthday and anniversary wishes. It meant a lot to both of us.
Santa Warren's last radiation treatment went well - they even took him in early. He sure was glad to see the back of that place even though they have all been so good and kind to him. The techs are so caring and more than willing to ask any questions we asked. In fact they encouraged us to ask questions.
No special dinner tonight Betty .Somehow DH agreed to unexpected company who is now asleep on my downstairs futon.I'm going to blame the steroids and radiation for this lapse of what???? I think I will say sanity. DH is still confused at times and is not quick on his feet when asked something on the spur of the moment, especially over the telephone. Anyway we can celebrate another night.
Need to go help DH move into another position. Will BBL
Dianne
Morning,
Brrr bitter cold day out there! You know the kind of Cody's that everything seems to be covered with diamonds..almost another world..must say lovely to look at but a day to sit inside and relax!
Be back in a bit, bath is waiting and furries want out.
Dressed and ready to start my day..think I will go into Midland, need some wool for cowal scarves ( for next Christmas but hey, can't start too soon) then a few things from Canadian Tire and perhaps Home Depot for a fireplace..thinking on that one!
LindaKay, prayers coming for Heather and the baby. With all the problems she is having is she not far enough that they could induce her?? Without oxygen much could happen to the baby? Sorry to hear about your friend, at least they realize that they didn't get all the cancer and will do treatment.
Mary, clearly bio mom has lost it..am sure they now realize just how lucky and thankful they should be to have you as their mom. Can't picture anyone wearing coats in 61 degree weather. We'd be wearing short shorts lol
Sometimes Dianne unexpected company is just what is needed..enjoy the day with..am sure company realizes how ill Santa Warren is and will cut visit short.
Sure hope you make your post office aware that a box from Florida is on its way and NOT to misplace it..
I'm as anxious as you to see what will be inside.
Thunder, glad you are back on your feet, don't overdo and have a relapse..when will you see our soldier.
