Glad you had a good Christmas handing out animals and candy for the kids.
Hope your meds come in soon!
Best/worse/what did I learn today-chat with friends
Oh Katie, it just warms my heart for all you do for the children and their families. Those memories they will treasure forever, and so will you! Hope you are able to get a computer battery soon. I understand the trouble...my own is dead, and this one I am "clunking" on is over 10 years old and so darn slow. BUT..it works and I can read my emails.
Evening all,
Last of my company left but a short while ago..wonderfful Christmas was had by all, southern temps, can't believe the weather.
Promised id call you Judy but no can do tonight..
Put on a good show for all and now it's meds..something to help my head from splitting and to bed.
Just had a call, Melanie's mom.,wanted to say how appreciative she was this year as in past years for the gifts the boys give them..was nice to get such a call!
Judy love the tree and glad that Steve took time to relax with you..think he also needs time to unwind and regenerate
Katie, loved reading your post..am sure the kids appreciated.
Debbie, you didn't overdo did you?
Sooty all, know I should be commenting to you all but really need to close my eyes..fission blurry..
Enjoy your evening, gab later!
thunder it says its in orlando florida
Betty, sure hope your going to call your Dr. for those headaches?
Waiving Hi, Betty, please just get some rest.
Woohoo, spent my day Reading! finished Bridges of Madison County!
Anyway off to dinner, got taste for a Burger, LOL.
Be back in a bit.
Hi y'all!
Merry Christmas late!! We had Christmas with my family this year. It was wonderful! Mama really acted like it meant a lot to her for everyone to be together this year ... this was our first without Daddy. It was a very special Christmas this year. Oh, and the DH bought me a gorgeous pocketbook!
Dianne, I've been particularly thinking about you and Warren. Hugs to both of you.
Katie, that's so sweet of you to do that!
Debbie, glad you had a good Christmas
Betty, take care of yourself!
Thunder, woohoo ... been thinking about you and your family!!! ☺
I'm sorry I'm so far behind. I need to go back and get caught up. Forgive me ... ~ing to everyone for now.
Betty your headaches may be tension ones like I used to have. They were very debilitating for yrs until a doc put me on Orphenadrine. As my stress lessened and I took them one a day or when I felt a bad one coming. Mine lessened over a couple of yrs and I haven't had one of those real bad ones since 2006. They are generic for Orph/ASA/ Caf. I don't know the MGs it is not on the bottle. Please ask your doc. HUGS BEV
We have no snow yet. It is raining here and not supposed to freeze.
Suse! So happy to see you, been thinking of you and your first Christmas....it is so very hard. I am glad you and your family were together for it.
Betty, did you ever get the test results for all those blood vials they took two weeks ago. You need to call tomrorow and tell him about your fainting. This is a VERY serious issue, especially with you driving.
Waving to all, exhausted here.....and going to bed.
Have lots to share...but tomorrow, if I start now I will be up all night! lol
Sweet dreams,
Debbie
Evening all!
Day 3 of DH's radiation went well. Other than I spun out on some black ice on the way into the CC the trip was fine, not much traffic at all.Almost ended up with Warren getting too close and personal with a cement hydro pole. The ground appeared to be dry but the woman in front of me making the turn started to twist all over the road. At least I remembered not to hit the brakes hard and just pumped them as I tried to avoid the lady. Escape started to slide off the road but the 4 wheel finally kicked in and I managed to hit a bare spot which enabled me to get a good purchase on the pavement. Whew!
The gravity of the situation with DH really hit me today when I got Warren back into the area where he has his radiation. There were 2 techs and a radiation oncolgist waiting for us - they all came in just for Warren's treament. Apparently it is cheaper to do this than have DH in the hospital. He has an MRI on his brain at 8:15 am and then # 4 of radiation tomorrow.
Like Debbie Katie it warms my heart to read what you did for those children yesterday. What a wonderful memory they are going to have when they reflect back on Christmas passed as they get older.
Your tree looks fabulous even before you get the lights on it Judy. Nice and healthy! How was the burger?
Betty please do not meander off anywhere until you check with your Doc. CALL TOMORROW please!!! Thhis is a very serious matter. What if you had fainted at the wheel of the car instead of where you were??? Glad to read you were spoiled with presents. LOL at Jeff's 2012 Wish List!
Suse I am so glad that you and Danny were able to join your family for Christmas DAy. That must have been very special for your Mama tohave you all there.
Just a little excited Susan?lol When is lift off???
BBL
Dianne
Dianne, that must have been so scary when you started slipping and sliding on that ice! Glad your OK!
Dianne, isn't it amazing how all your training kicks in when you need it? And how great of the hospital staff to be there for Warren. I know we can't fit in with Santa for the MRI and they won't let us in for radiation, So we will wait patiently with you.
Norm and I have decided this house has too much "stuff"!!!! So we are going on a campaign to clean out and get rid of --either toss, give away or donate-- anything that we haven't used for six months or better. Of course we will hold onto seasonal things and get rid of that stuff as that season arrives. He will take care of cleaning out the basement and I the sewing room. I swear I could set someone up with all they would need. And we have enough office supplies to start a store. Where does it all come from? So today the fun begins.
I'm off together some coffee. I'm tired just thinking of all this to do!!! Have great morning - I'm waving hello to all.....

Morning all, enjoying this cup of coffee, these new fan dangle machines sure make life easier...so come sit there is apple pie with cranberries and raisins, or, cherry pie..pick coffee, tea or latte...homey feeling with you resting and starting the morning with me.
Omg Dianne, that ice is treacherous, so glad you were able to get everything under control without mishaps..your heart must have been beating mile a minute..did it frighten Santa Warren?
How wonderful that Santa Warren is getting special care! Know we complain about medical care but when you need it, they are there.
Barb, I often wonder the same, 6 years ago I moved in this house without one item, now I look around and wonder what fairies dropped their treasures to me..might follow suit and do some purging but first Christmas has to be put away..could be a job for today IF I do a tote here and there and not overdo. Just wait until Norm starts helping you out in the sewing room..with all the fabric you've given to many of us surely you can't have too much for yourself. Speaking of fabric think I'll ask Cathy if she wants to go to fabricland with me this mornimg, could use some supplies so I can work on the Christmas blanket to use up all our 2010 and 2011 blocks and maybe a drop in at michaels to seenwhayni can spend my money card on while the sales are on. Now there I go, going to follow you and purge and in same breath star talking about getting more..lol
Watched on a quilting video a woman making a ironing pad for sewing purposes, lots of padding so if on sale, would be a good thing to make, I could hide it in a corner and you wouldn't know I added it to my supplies..could purge something in the room to make room for it..
How did everyone like the Christmas gifts that you all gave, tell me the favorite received!
Suse, how wonderful that you got to spend time with family..yes, I'm sure a lot of cheer was for your benefit and your mom was hurting beyond reason..quite a trooper she was. Same goes for all of you as your dad was never far from your thoughts either.
Susan is shortly flying to family..sure hope her trip is all she wants it to be
Thunder is flying high without the plane lol having her boys safely home!
Thea, you relaxing, got this spring weather?
Waving to all,
I've rambled enough
Debbie, are you able to get around on your own yet re driving? So want to meet up with you at cracker barrel one weekend soon..what is Paul off for the holidays/all week? Is he adjusting to the new firm?
LindaKay, what are you up to now that Christmas projects ar e over? How did your friend like the Christmas blanket..lots of ohhh's and ahhh's?
Melanie must have loved hers because her mom Betty when she called to thank me for time spent with the grandkids to make her and hubby a gift had mega questions concerning the process and couldn't believe the amount of work put into it and the fact I made 3.
Was nice to see her as excited as she was when Melanie saw it, Darlene was the same..sure hope last night when julie got hers she was the same!!
Light headed this morning, doctor away this week so unless something major were to happen I would not be sitting in emerge for anything.. 5 to 8 hour wait is beyond my patience!
Bev, it's not the same as my regular headaches, odd coming from the crook of my neck..find when I get up in the morning I'm at my worse..take meds, forge on in slow motion and can make it through the day. I slept from the time my company left early evening to 7am this morning so must have needed the sleep.
Betty, you say the day....and I will be there. I actually received several Cracker Barrell gifts from DH for Christmas. A huge red watering can/vase with a chicken on it, and a utensil holder I had eyed there a few weeks ago....with a chicken on it! lol Most of my Christmas gifts were all for the kitchen, which is actually what I asked for as after 22 years....needed replaced. New tea kettle (Paula Dean red spec) and cassarole dishes. DH did get me two new sweaters as did DD#1. Oh yes, and a set of glasses...we have had the tumblers since kids were born and most of my glasses were broken over the years.
I gave the older two girls Nook readers and they are so happy with them.
Recieved some "news" last week that just rocked me. DS and I had a chat while out shopping. He said he needed to do something with his life....if he didn't get a dorm room this semester....he was signing up for the Service. Well, I know what an honor it is to serve the country, but our town lost a soldier a few months ago....and well...my heart just plumeted. SO....Christmas eve came....and I was going through the mail. There was a letter for DS.....he has a dorm room...and will be going to college, moving up day is Jan. 20th (our anniversary). He said he is going to give it his best shot...but Service is still an option if it doesn't work out.
Well, needing some breakfast....then might just get into a "purging" mode like Barb. Cant find my desk very well anymore!!!
Debbie
Beautiful LK...
So good to be back with you all.
Dad and I are heading for Florida sometime after the first of the year. Come to Ohio and ride with us Betty!
It is nice to have you back with us Cookie!
Debbie, not to encourage him, but if he joins the service, they can help pay for his college!
Oh I am aware of that. My father, grandfather, uncles...ex husband....DH's father and brother...all military. I come from a long line of Navy brats. My ex was a Marine when we married.
LK that is just gorgeous. What a great job she did...
Deb - so happy to hear Shane got a dorm room. And yes, the service is always an option if it doesn't work out.
Betty I'm really glad to hear you slept so long and so well. Your body can only go so long without it and evidently yours said enough!!!! Doesn't your doctor have someone to cover for him when he is out of town? These headaches are not good. Please, if you won't go to Emergency, stay as quiet as possible until you can see your doctor.
I have Sean today. No school this week and his brother is at the farm today. He got all kinds of electronics for Christmas so he is quite content to be quiet with Grammy today. I'm trying to clean out and rearrange my sewing room. I'm finding projects I bought to do and then set aside because something came up. I have enough to keep me busy all year.. May need to buy an occasional backing but I think that is all!!!!! Great way to start the new year....
Hope Santa Warren has an easy day for his radiation treatment. Keeping him in my prayers along with our Dianne.
It is so nice to see Bev and Cookie posting. We have missed you. Sounds like Florida with Dad will be a great change for you Cookie.
What are you up to Thea and LK and Judy and Mary and Suse and everyone else? I know Susan is on her way to Winnipeg to see her family. How wonderful for her.
Must go - sean needs to show me something on his toy.
Good Morning!!
Thank you for the Coffee and pies!!
It is soo great to see you Sunshine! How wonderful you and Dad with go to Florida...
Dianne, OMG how frightening!! My heart was beating rapidly while reading about your Black ice experience, Thank God you were able to get back in control, I think an angel was with you! So glad to see Santa Warren is so well taken care of and the radiation seems to helping!
Katie, Wow, what an incredible heart you have to bring such happiness to all the children!! I hope that your pain lessons, majorly.
Oh Goodness, Debbie, I think maybe you a have an angel too...Re;the dorm papers appearing. I know you would be honored for him to join the Service, but having peace in your heart must be for you right now.
LOL, Barb...I hear you on purging, I've been trying to do that forever!
Linda Kay!! Wow, that stocking Heather made for you is Stunning, what a loving thing to do!
Awe, Betty, your family sure does return all the love back ten fold, sounds like you had an incredible Christmas! Now, maybe all the rush is over your headaches will go away. But, hands on the hips here, your Doc doesn't ever seem to be around when You need him!!
I have several very favorite gifts!! My tree, which I hugged!, lol, my own special arm wrap...A charm bracelet that has Love and peace charms, Ohwah! a rolling Pin!! But the most loving gift of all...My Honey took time to search through a billion pictures to choose 6 have them printed and mounted in a Frame.
The frame reads: Faith/makes all things possible, Love/makes all things easy, and Hope/makes all things work...With it brought me to tears!! And my fun stocking stuffer, a small package of Kleenex, ROLOL
I will get pictures. I haven't gone anywhere other then dinner, Dianne so smiling, Our burgers were Wonderful!!
OK, I have to get to post office and Then I'm going to be-bop around in search for the Movie, Bridges of Madison County and the New Angel book and get another charger for the little camera!!
Mary, I was so smiling that you had a nice Christmas!!
Judy had a chuckle about the burgers...that is what I am so hungry for! A big juicy burger, with all the toppings!
lol, Debbie, quick, quick go have one!!
Afternoon, or is it good evening..
Went shopping with June, by the time 1:00 came I was virtually falling asleep and had to hold my head, not complaining, just saying that is how my morning went..
Line up at fabricland wayyyy to long so stayed with adhesive batting and 6 yards Christmas fabric..perhaps another day I can purchase more!
Did manage to pick up light weight cafe curtains for dining room, think,I want them in that window, guess once they are up I'll decide..
Them off to michaels, bought omni fold away grid and ironing board..great for taking to a sewing class..kids payed for a class starting in February..also a cutting grid with lines, and open to use the alpha cutter (both items took up Julie's gift certificate, love the items but likely would not have spent the $$$
Went to look at an iron which sits on a steaming table, again line up too long so will go back
Then June wanted to go to the knitting gallery..bough a book with a beautiful 'king street cowal and mitts" am sure the girl would love a set..getting ready to knit for next Christmas. Lol
In same building there were a few things in the quilting are that just closed at 75% off, not a lot, couple packages of templates, needles and quilting stencils..spent all of $20 and got bag full of items
Saw a flat screen fireplace with mini heater unit and thought it would look lovely in my bedroom, wasn't sure the dimensions were righ so will do measuring tomorrow and if okay will take a trip to Barrie.
Went for Chinese and nearly fell asleep n my p,ate so ate and home we came..now in Jammie's, blanket over me and to sleep I will go
Read all your posts, waving, glad you are all enjoying your day
Need to go Bettybyes
another adorable snowman...stocking...... which held the snowman ornament. and also some cute coal, one piece painted with a .......snowman!!!!
post #'s that will lead me to a link on DG, with directions for a sleigh, the first workshop, which was "before my time"......
a pattern, so that I can cut out a sleigh, and some lovely fabric, Liz found on e bay !! so I can put a Santa on my sleigh !!! it has been quite awhile since I cut any wood, sure hope I can remember how??!!!
yet another fantastic snowman!!! and this one is on a star!!!!!!!!!! ^_^ ♥ ♥ ♥ either Liz has a fantastic memory, or she asked somebody some questions??? Or guessed very well !!! as I absolutely LOVE snow men , and stars are very very special to me :)
Liz, thank you...not good enough words, but don't know what else to say???
Wow!! That was sure worth waiting for Thunder. Liz, you are one creative lady.....
Oh Thunder, wish I had payed more attention that you loved snowmen! I have about 4 or 5 totes here...just full of them! As I clean and sort these next few months....I may just have to rehome them to a loving friend!
Holy Whaaaaa, look at the box of goodies you received Thunder..sure must have made your day!
you will have so much fun doing the project Liz included..funny how Santa Elves just know what makes our buddies smile..she guessed it right when she included snowmen..lol
Snowing heavily outside..guess it was bound to come..
thought I'd share a few photo's of Christmas
Melanie, surprised by the e-reader I gave her, 1,100 books already downloaded for her to read..
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/791311/
Thunder, I think this is the link you need?
Love those snowmen!!
ohhh deb I would be thrilled to give some of your snowmen a new home !!!!
LK thanks so much for the link! I had no idea how I was gonna go about finding it.....I need to catch up on a bit more sewing, then I am gonna find a piece of wood.....
I do have a couple questions tho is the "dap" that texture snow stuff??? and did you first base coat the whole sleigh piece?? top bottom and edges??? then added the heavy paint ?? then smoosh ???? sounds like such a fun painting procedure and if I was to look for the fine snow / glitter.....what is it called? can I get some at Michaels ? or Maybe Joannes ??
more snow people.....this is across my picture window, in the living room, looking out to front yard..
Christmas in the living room, our little bear tree, we got the first time Levi went to Iraq, just could not bring myself to put up a big tree, so we got this, and decorated it all in Red, White, and Blue.....kept it that way until he came home.
then we were so used to it we just kept it up !!! so it stays up all the time, we keep lights on it, but take the ornaments off...except for the little soldier snowman, he stays there all of the time.
the village stays on the mantle all the time too!! I have a quilt shop !!! and a florist shop with a green house, and this year I bought a fire station at 50% off, which I have to figure out how to squeeze in :)
see the little guy on the bike, waiting at the quilt shop?? and my Momma made me the clock tower :)
