LK - I haven't seen the movie... I just made a note to pick up the book at the library... then I'll watch the movie after I read it... Thank you for the recommendation !

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Make sure you have a box of tissues...

Verona, ON

Excellent recommendation from LK Mary.Loved the movie too.

Tackled the linen closet,laundry room and the large closet by the front door. iThat closet is so large I also use it to store cans and boxes of food. Sure feels good to have that organized.

Shirley what a wonderful, amazing gift you passed on to our Betty. She will treasure it as we all would. When one shares something from a person they love that loves gets to go forward...... I love that idea.

Judy today sounded ever so much better than yesterday. You are on a roll now.....lol

Didn't Crissy post that she was really busy at work and wouldn't be able to come visit us as much right now?

SO Debbie I will Dmai you Misty Meadows's regular street addy. And Mary I will tell Kathy about signing the back of the book and passing it on....we'll make sure that if there is someone on here that hasn't read it and wants to that Kathy will mail it to them. She's a great gal! She and her DH are Market Gardeners so are busy, busy all of the time.I will try and coax Kathy to find the time to visit us here.If there is no one here to pass it on to I am sure Kathy will pass it on to someone else or she will mail it back to you Mary.

Verona, ON

Oooops pushed the wrong button. But I will just finish up by saying please take this time (and really not just the Christmas Season it should be all the time) to hug and tell those you love just that OFTEN.

morning, called for possibole freezing rain but it must have missed my region..so hoping Dianne /Thea and Debbie that it moved passed you as well but ohhh can you ever feel the cold.

apologies, I must have been exhausted, after posting sat down for a few minutes, must have put my head back and slept till 12:30, then off to bed and just got up..first time I haven't been sewing at 4:30 in the morning.. just as well I did because Paul will be in today, first time in forever, Suzanne won't have time to go to the washroom and there I'll sit trying to look busy..have the candle boxes to paint black (8) but with clients in and out won't want to be painting..maybe I will, just set them aside when clients go from waiting rooom to conference room..there decided that.

Got to wonder about my car..sure hoping I don't smell burnt this morning..

Bet you have been waiting for the photo's right...

Here we go, talk about a big box

See the wine glasses in the florals, won't they look pretty lit up at night sitting on the lovely table runner.

Again Shirley, a hug is coming your way..I'M THRILLED with your gift of love, I'm all warm and toasty inside!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Just gorgeous Betty. Shirley you should be so proud of yourself. What a wonderful gift for arrangement you have. Sending you Christmas hugs and may God bless you.

Lyndonville, NY

Those are such beautiful treasures.....those are truly a gift from the heart.
Sure miss Tubby & his jokes, his smiles and his "gentle" lectures to me. Had such great words of wisdom at times.

Yes, don't check your clocks...I am up, and have been up since 4:30. Thinking of crawling ba ck under the electric blanket. Just couldn't sleep! heard a dog bark and was afraid DH or DS forgot to let the dog in from a break.....so needed to come down and make sure. Nope, she was stretched out on her bed in the kitchen snoozing. Of couse then she had to tell me she needed out....so here I sit.

Suse, where have you been? I might make us some grits for breakfast! Between that, myh tea and honey....I have breakfast with you daily!

Ok, now I have a cat ticked off. SO am going back up to bed. Izzy is inside and its quiet for a bit.

Debbie (travel safe Betty)

Oh Liz, that is going to make for a long day for you too! I can't even do my craft projects as DH has to do the cutting. We have ran non-stop since last Thursday, and today is going to be another day of running.

If I am not on as frequent...don't worry. My computer crashed and I have to use my Moms OLD one....or Dh's laptop which is really hard (bad eyes). BUT can read if not respond to all.

Going to go have a chat with my electric blanket and see what can be done. lol

Debbie

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!

Betty love those arrangements! They look very nice in your room!

Betty, sure hope your car is OK!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Here at work..

Boys are coming tonight to do their 3 candle holders so thought this morning I'd paint them black so that they are good and dry for craft night! Ended up doing 7 - keeping a bare one to send to Dianne!!

Still something smelling like burnt plastic..checking everything..did loose my old glasses the other day and know that I had them one when I put windshield washer in the tank, wondering if I lost them there and the plastic is melting..just a thought , not likely!

Liz, omg you are a glutten for punishment..that is a long day..will you be seeing grannie at Christmas..having Christmas at your house or off to in-laws?

Debbie, sure wish Santa could bring you an i-pad..I'll ask him and say 'pretty,pretty Santa, could you bring my friend an i-pad or laptop' hope he listens

The news this morning said green Christmas..although it's nice for everyone travelling it's not nice not having the snow fall, nothing prettier..

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Good Morning!

Betty I'm so glad that you got the package. I've been sitting on pins and needles wondering if it would get there in time. I first was so thrilled when Santa Warren picked your name out of his hat for me. I knew right away what I was going to do. You did so much to bring to bring such joy into Tubby's life and mine, just as all of the rest of you have done. I'm thankful it got there okay. I know that Tubby would have wanted you to have these and think of him when you look at them. I can never tell you all enough how much joy you all brought into his life and the gleam in his eyes when he would visit with you all. He is smiling down on all of you and thanks you so very much. I''m going to share this little passage with you all and I know this is how he feels:

My Firsst Christmas in Heaven

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below,
With tiny lights, like heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, please wiipe away that tear,
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear,
But the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir
I have no words to tell you the joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me. I see the pain iside your heart,
But I am not so far away. We really aren't apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones. You know I hold you dear,
And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I send you each a special gift from my heavenly home above,
I send you each a memory of my undying love.
After all, love is the gift, more precious than pure gold.
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other as my Father said to do,
For I can't count the blessings or love He has for each of you,
So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that teat.
Remember, I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

With Love, Tubby

I am now going to go get something done and I want to wish you all a bright day and will check back in later God Bless you all.

Shirley

Glenview, IL

Oh my
Shirley, Tears are streaming down my face!

How Beautiful, a Gift from Heaven!
We love you too.

Lyndonville, NY

Tears in my coffee....but thats OK, good ones. That is so beautiful. I have a Christmas ornament with that on it from when my grandmother passed. All the grandkids got one.

I actually went back to sleep and got a few extra snoozes in.

Betty, that is so sweet your going to talk to Santa. But I would rather he help all the people in need...not complaining over trivial things like a computer. Tonight will be so nice with the boys doing their craft projects....take your pictures.

Oh Questions!!! What is the name of the crackle medium for the project? Did you get that in the paint area for craft paints? Couldn't find it.

DH is getting out of work early to go look at cars again, then possibly running me to a medical center nearby as I have to get fitted for an ankle and possibly knee brace. PT AJ said that if I don't...I might end up in an ankle cast soon. Ewwww! If he wasn't so dang cute I would push him in the pool.

Well, needing coffee....be back in a bit.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Happy tears here as well. OMG Shirley! What a fortunate woman you have been to have had Tubby in your life. He will always be a bright spot in mine. I planted the hibiscus in the fall and now I'm praying it will come up this spring.

Just got back from the MRCP scan. Thank heaven I'm not claustrophobic! It was a tight squeeze but it is done. I go talk with Dr about results next Wed. So I'm going to enjoy my Christmas knowing there won't be any surgery until after the new year.

Now I'm off to try to get some things done here. My grandson is coming to take me shopping this afternoon. I haven't been out of the house without Norm in months so I haven't shopped for him yet!!!!! Should be fun.

~~~Waving hello to all~~~
Victoria Harbour, ON
Debbie, Michaels or Hobby Lobby have crackle..any type will do..come in same size bottles as the acrylic paint. But, if you have a hardware store, you might pay a few more dollars but they may have pints of crackle for sale.
You will be more mobile if you get an ankle or knee brace..just till you gain strength.
Shirley - thank you for the poem from Tubby - such a beautiful reality thought........... He is truly one-of-a-kind (I say IS because of course he's still with us, in Heaven)
Thunder dear - I couldn't be happier for you, to have your sons in the US, at home!!
I'm at work, so will look at the link when I'm home.
Verona, ON
Oh Judy!!! You little Elf you! Santa Warren loved his hat and the tree ornament you made is proudly hanging on the 6 ft Feather Tree in the bedroom. Can't remember if I told you or not but I put the 6' Feather Tree in the bederoom so Santa Warren can enjoy it when he is in there.And your card gal...... wow! I'm going to hang the card you made on the tree and will keep it with my very treasured Christmas ornaments. Ya know there are Christmas ornaments and then there are special Christmas ornaments - your 2 will obviously be in the very special box when I store them away. The Santa hat is delightful and after Santa Warren tried it on I put it on the tree. It looks fantastic there and covers up a huge hole that was there. Thank you, thank you you are so king and thoughtful. No pics though Judy so go ahead and post yours - I don't even know how to post a pic....lol
BB soon .Santa Warren decided to make his humdinger Sausage Rolls but of course you know who ends up doing it....... sure glad I love the end result.And I might add so do my hips.
Merry Christmas everyone. I might not be back until after. I have 25 pounds of candy and bags and bags of stuffed animals ready to go.
Tony may take tomorrow off. I gave him the choice as the work on the new garden will be leading to maore income for him. I'm having a rough day today, pain-wise, so I'm letting him decide about tomorrow. Love our relationship. He will for sure be here Friday to help me get everything into my van, then he will have three days off. I will see him and the rest of his family on Christmas day when I do my rounds. I can't find one present I got for his daughter and wrapping may suffer a bit due to my shortcomings but I know it won't matter. I am truly blessed. ( I could tell nightmare stories about my family or origin and Christmases past but I prefer to hug a stuffed animal and keep doing what I can here.)
All in all, I'm having a great season. I've done enough that I can have a meltdown of sorts now and not add panic to whatever is going on mentally and physically. I dropped off a cup of candy and a stuffed animal for the young woman who runs the lcoal video store. She has a little girl and is pregnant. She was totally surprised and pleased. Yesterday I gave our local postman a huge grapefruit (and explaind proudly that it was from my garden - a tree I had planted). Also candy for his son and a little money with my thanks for his postal work. He was clearly touched. Not a lot of Christmas tips here though I think he was more touched by the fact of my expressing appreciation than he was by the fairly small amount of money. I also saw a couple of other friends and got nice hugs and greetings. Shed a few tears myself.
Wish I could be with each of you for hugs and sniffles.
hugs all around, katie
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
Loved that video Thunder, (sniff) Thanks for sharing that special moment!
Katie, Merry Christmas to you and all your friends and neighbors down that way!
Victoria Harbour, ON
Just typed out a long post, drats call came in, went to open a screen and lost my post.
highlights
Paul bought us a large array of coffee/tea/latte/cups etc. and keurig coffee machine for Christmas..he must have a tape recorder on in the office because Suzanne called me last night to say Zellers had them on sale and did I want to go halves on one..at lunch we were to go shopping for same..sooo, saved some $$$ there.
Everyone busy cooking and making goodies..Sharon just got back from Florida Dog Show and she's already into baking. Called and wanted Roger's microwave bread pudding recipe..now that she mentioned it I'm craving for some with icecream..
Now Dianne you say SantaWarren and you are making sausage rolls..never made them, usually buy at M & M's..are they easy to make? Ahhh Judy gave me a sneak preview of the pressie's she sent you..knew you both would be thrilled..I'm saddened that my box did not arrive..back this afternoon asking Canada Post for an update.
Katie, sounds as though you have everything under control with regards to your Christmas treat handouts..it will be great for those receiving and a nice way for you to participate in the Christmas spirit. You will feel wonderful seeing the smiles. It's not the amound of $$$ or what you buy for someone, it's that you took the time to think of them.
Will you be having Christmas dinner with Tony and his family ?
Barb, I was in awe as well seeing that gorgeous young man home for the holidays....praying that many more USA homes are feeling blessed with the return of their loved ones.
Lunch is calling!
(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)
many thousands came home from Iraq...................So there will be many many happy USA house holds for Christmas ^_^
even tho I won't actually have him here for Christmas, just to know he is home makes it all the better. I will see him just after the new year. he won't give me a date....the brat.. LOL he loves surprises....
knowing him he will creep in, in the middle of the night and scare the heck outta me !!!!
Victoria Harbour, ON
You just never know Thunder, maybe your biggest Christmas day pressie will be a family visit!! I could see that happening.
Victoria Harbour, ON
Hey Judy,
Santa is a Canadian and told me to forward this message for you,
http://magicsanta.ca/gateway.html?code=CX6HHZ
Verona, ON
I can't remember if I posted this before but if I didn't I certainlly meant to and if I did bear with me but you will know how much the surprise LK sent Santa Warren and I. Not only did she send Santa dark chocolate she sent a Victorian Santa that she made. DH will go into a dark chocolate coma if I don't take charge of the candy .....lol. That also means perhaps more for me..... naw just watching how much he consumes in a day so he has room for meat and veggies.
The Santa is absolutely gorgeous - do you have a picture you can post LK of the Santa? I just don't do pictures but sure love to look at others. I am the one when someone goes on a trip that will sit through all 500 of the pics taken.I put Snata with the lovely sleigh ornament and the trees in the bedroom right by the Victoiran Feather Tree. They look absolutley stunning side by each. From the bottom of our hearts LK Thank You.
Susage rolls are so easy Betty it is almost shameful that something that tastes that good is so easy to make. We do 2 kinds some in Puff Pastry and the traditional Pigs in a Blanket in pie dough. Mary - here is another way you can use your new skills as a Pie Maker.lol
Need to help Santa Warren move chairs, he gets so uncomfortable staying in 1 position. I had to laugh earlier today DH sorta grumbled 'I hope they don't expect me to be Cupid Warren' - when I looked at him he had a smile on his face. When I asked him what was wrong with that he said he would look stupid as Cupid but could probably pull off the Easter Bunny. It is so goood to hear him talk about future days as he has not since we got his diagnosis.
