Crissy, your right, it is worth a lot more, but the $200.00 is what we paid for it. Todd bought it from a friend at work. It is worth, $3500.00 if we had to buy a new one!
Barb, I'll be sending orders with you to the Dr. this afternoon!
Best/worse/what did I learn today? chatting/all welcome
I mailed my exchange pkg this morning. But it might take a while to get there. Hope my buddy likes what I made.
I only have 12more radiation treatments to go and am I glad! They leave me with no energy at all. This year there will be no cookie baking with the DIL's as I just can't manage. I did get lots of Christmas things made and the kids are getting $ so shopping is at a minimum. I have just decided that i will do what I can and not worry about the rest.
Thanksgiving was nice. We were at Fairy1004 my DIL and I did not have to do a thing! DS made the entire dinner. Although, I am a Mom and felt I should have at least made a pie! Jonathan is growing like a weed. He walks all over but does not let go of anything yet. He gets into everything and his Mom is constantly hauling him out of things he should not be in. Stacey did a wonderful calendar of all his pictures for a Christmas present for us grandparents and it is wonderful.
I do still have a rag quilt to do for Christmas and some little things but they will all get done. Today is put up the tree and then rest. That is the way my days go. I need to send a sympathy card. The wife of my neighbors in the condo died this week. Tshe was a nice lady and very welcoming when I first moved in. I will miss her. Must run...
So nice to see you Ladydragon.....and glad Stacey & Jonathon are doing well. Keeping you in thoughts and prayers for your radiation treatments. THey are SO VERY VERY tiring. My Mom went through 30 of them for her treatment. She ate and slept...and nothing more was expected.
That said....guess what?
I went out and got the mail......AND....
Got my BOX!!!!! My Betty Box arrived! Whoooooo hooooo!!!!
Mine are worth that much the way they sit, with the age and everything. They get way way expensive if you buy them new, my Suzuki 250cc is worth $4000 brand new, I haven't priced the Arctic Cat.
I had all those tests done though, this is rheumatis/arthritis specialist so not sure what he does that I'd need shorts..maybe he wants to see my legs lol
Barb, I'll be looking at the clock and waiting for good news..
As for post office, wasn't much difference mailing to Thea and Dianne as mailing to all of you, not sure why that is this time..was so glad I was standing at the door 3rd. in line..by the time I finished there had to be 30 people with bundles to mail. Yikes, she wasn't happy with me about those boxes I used..lol.. Crissy, I think the USA postal service is wonderful, if you don't then know you'd not like Canada Post. Let's see, I mailed out Thea and Dianne's on Thursday early a.m.- hmmm wouldn't think they would get them before Thursday if not later..I'd be amazed if I did!
My favorite place is under the bed...ask Barb, that's where my 5' stained glass blue heron has been living for about 4 years..lol..closets tend to get overcroweded as well..guess we all have hidding places!
Thea, I'm picking the beach..
Betty what I'm saying is be prepared because our postal service is going to change, you like it right now, you may not when it changes. I ship UPS mainly because me and Dave have received empty boxes in the past, where someone broke a hole in the box and took the contents, the mail carrier delivered empty boxes with big holes punched through them. Talk about making someone mad and I know it's done in the Malvern Post Office but we can't prove it so there's nothing we can do.
Betty, they just had a news story about the post office today on Channel 7. Talking about doing away with Saturday service/delivery!
Your box arrived very secure here. I think the kitties smell your Misty and Sailer on it...sniffing galore!
Janice, how wonderful to see you post. Just enjoy and let the kids do Christmas..you've done so much for them these past few years, time they do payback. Besides, they know what you are going through!!! Oooh Jonathan will be a handful this Christmas, into pressies and the tree..Stacey will indeed have to be on guard..how is she feeling?
oooh Debbie, was anything broken??? wow from 8:30 Sat. a.m. to this morning..fast travelling
We don't have postal delivery on Saturday, been many years since we have!!!
Usually only get bills and now most of everything is via e-billing so no reason to go to post office much in anticipation.
My box arrived as well Betty!!
AND...just checked my Christmas buddy has received my parcel this afternoon!! I am sooo impressed with this fast delievery service!!!
Hope she enjoys the goodies!!
Glad it arrived Thea..was everything in tact..
Just received envelopes from Thunder and Liz
hoping to get package out saturday or monday
omg LK how horrible sure hope they find the crooks who did that
hello to all
Waving Liz
Keep checking the thread for news of Barb...praying they are out celebrating!
I have been checking back in also Betty to see how Barb did. Fingers and toes crossed and sending prayers.
Suse, think that our postings are based on Dg time...
No, you have to "choose your time range" on your settings. I had to change mine to Eastern Standard....from Eastern Daylight Savings.
Hello To All !
Janice - so glad to "see" you ! Pls tell Stacy & Fam we said Hello ! That calendar is a lovely idea... I must steal it... LOL...
Thea and Barb... Ya'll reminded me Grandma used to give us a Quilt every Christmas and always joked about the "wrapping paper" (a trash bag with our name on it). I really treasure that...and now from knowing you it really HITS me how much of her loving time she spent working on it ...
Barb... Please check in ! (((HUGS))
Bev - That book I mentioned to Suse...reminded me of you today... I read a chapter on Daylilies and it says that you can eat the entire plant roots to flowers, cooked or raw and a HUGE source of vitamin "C".... Have you heard that?
Betty - Those sweets sound delicious ! Torteres? Any good recipes to share? OMG...yes DSD even introduced me to one of her Professors as "This is my Mom"... makes my eyes well up just to type that...
Dianne.. I suppose with young adults there will always be drama... this time inspired by DSD's BF (whom we really do like) but was acting immature... DH had to set him straight... was very proud of how all handled it...
Wow how interesting that Mam was old enough to be your Gma... do you have a lot of older siblings? I know you said but can't remember.
Oh Deb... Thank you yes I would love to post a pic or two if you will all be okay with that... feel I've overwhelmed everyone with the weekend trips.... LOL Saw that Charlie Brown Tree at Home Depot and really wanted it ! LOVE Charlie Brown... Funny about kitty... Belle was a terror last year ...this year has only destroyed 3. We have a table I call the "Island of Misfit Ornaments" (Rudolph red nose reindeer movie) and we put them there to hopefully be 'fixed' by hubs...
Susan - that blanket is so cheerful... I think it would make me happy if I were crying...
LK - we went back to Natchitoches LA where DSD1 is in college... It is known as the "City of Lights" with big Christmas celebration, this was opening weekend...
http://www.christmasfestival.com/
Highlights: Got there Friday ... beautiful dinner with Family at a nice restaurant on a lake, then the Gala which was Incredi ble (College huge with Drama/Music/Dance) one hour of Christmas live music, singing, dancing, skits... You would ALL have loved the show....
Next morning DSD1 and her BF were going to be in the Childrens parade....Hubs and I wandered over to a party he was invited to by the Mayor on the parade route (now don't we sound all high falutin'!) long story on how he got that invite but party was Fabulous... then we got the word....the highlight of my trip
SOMEHOW They conned DS19 into being "McGruff The Crime Dog" for the parade ! WOW OMG LOL !!!!!
rested at the room then back to party with kids walked to special viewing area for fireworks. Then DSD1's bday dinner. Drove back next day.
Whew !
((HUGS))
Mary
Hi y'all ...
Guess what?
I got my box, I got my box!!
I thought I was going to have a heart attack!!!
I had to wait for the DH to come home and tell me who my buddy was!! LOL Of course, I had already opened it and found the most delicious turtle chocolates inside, a gorgeous quilt block, a hanger to hang it on, a tree ornament, a most unusual little bottle of something??? hmm, now what can that be? Oh my goodness ... maple syrup!! But I still didn't have a clue who it was from!! Now talk about a kid at Christmas!! I was having sooo much fun discovering all my pretties! You ought to se my amazing little nested wooden Christmas tree. I'll try to get pictures, but it won't be tonight.
Thank you to my buddy ... You know who you are!! You've made my Christmas a very special one.
Hugs&blessings ... ~Susan
Mary, sounds like you had a great week-end! Please post pictures?
Suse, who is your buddy please? Can't wait to see what you got!
SUSE ! Fess up Gal.... Who is your buddy ???
SO.... Hmm... so Judy was first and LK was her buddy.... Deb has gotten hers?.... from ??? I'm missing someone, Betty?....and Suse has hers.....Hmm....wait.... Thea's "Buddy" has received hers...could that be Suse?
I feel Like Nancy Drew... LOL....
Thanks LK - I'll post a couple more... ((HUGS))
Mary
Yep ... Mine is from Thea!! I'm just so pleased. I'd share my candy if I could ... It's just wonderful! And, she gave me a recipe for making maple Lattes. She said she heard about my love of lattes. That's what my maple syrup is for. Tomorrow around 4ish, I'll be in here ... sitting with my feet propped up sipping on my yummy latte. That does sound out of this world!! The bottle it's in is a treasure all its own. I'll try to get some pictures of everything. She's such a sweetie!
Popping in for a sec, coffee is on, much to do before I leave for work!!
I'm sick with worry now seeing that Barb has not posted...
One quick peek before I'm off to work
Sending prayers Barb's way!!
No no, I didn't get my Christmas swap yet.....just the craft project.
Suse, that sounds so wonderful! You will enjoy all of that so much.
Dog got me up early....coffee is taking FOREVER it seems. Cold and rainy again.
Be back...waving good morning.
Barb....hugs, waiting for news
Betty safe drive in.
Debbie
Here I am....I wrote this out in Word after losing it three times.. So it's a copy and paste...Sorry to be so long in posting....
You are NOT going to believe the day I have had!!! We went to the doc at 2PM for my appt. I had to fill out the paperwork and then sat there until after 2:30 PM when the assistant took us to the exam room. She did the weight and blood pressure thing and said the doc would be in to see me in a few minutes. Twenty minutes later, the head nurse came in and wanted to know if anyone had been to see me. I said no. She came back five minutes later and told me that an error had been made and that they had scheduled me with the wrong doc!!!!! They had me seeing the colon guy for an upper digestion problem. I was ready to cry I was soooo frustrated. She asked what the problem was as she started looking through my paperwork. When we told her all that had been done so far and that I still had no answers she was so apologetic.
She went to the other Doc and he allowed her to give me some samples of Nexium which should help with this burning. She then told me that the right doc will need lab work so she got me a presc for that. She is going to talk with the right doc in the morning and promised to get back to me tomorrow. She mentioned something about maybe doing a procedure on Thursday. (They send a camera down your throat to see what is going on). So, I went and had blood drawn and hopefully will start to get something going. I think now that they know they screwed up, things will be a bit smoother. I sure hope so and I’m glad to have her in my corner as well.
So this has been one comedy of errors after another. I know I'm so frustrated right now. I'm sure this feeling will pass but let me tell you - I'm not a happy camper right now. We shall see what this week brings. Norm is ready to slay the dragon!!!!
Oh Barb, so much to go through. And the waiting days ahead to find out the wrong doctor!
You know when my oldest had a "camera" procedure....they gave her a pill to swallow....it had a tiny little camera in it, and took pictures all through her digestive system over 3 days. It was so amazing! No side effects, and it was "disposeable" if ya know what I mean. It was able to do things and go where and endoscopy (which is the camera down the throat) couldn't go.
Big hugs, sure hope you get some news today!
Debbie
Thanks Deb. I was so proud that I didn't break into tears when the poor nurse came in and had to tell me it was the wrong doc. It wasn't her fault and Norm says I handled it well. Of course the frustation tears held until I was back in the car and then I just sat and let them go. It sure isn't medicine like what I grew up with.
yes, I can relate to those release tears...you bite your lip til you get back to the car. You are certainly on the right track now....fingers crossed, prayers said...for some answers!!
So sorry to hear of the delay! Seems the Dr.'s with today's technology could get it right the first time? They can be so frustrating!!!
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready, or hot chocolate if you prefer with lots of marshmallows. it is only 34 here this morning! Heaters are going, and I am dressed in my sweats to stay warm.
Bev, are you lurking? I have not seen you posy in awhile, praying you and Scotty are doing well!
Katie, hope you get your computer/internet fixed soon! Hope your doing OK as well!
Dianne, how did you and Santa Warren sleep last night?
Judy, if your lurking, we would love to see your lap quilt please?
Mary, love that photo of the fireworks! They are so hard to capture!
OMG Barb, you must be beside yourself!!! That is certainly being incompetent, how you kept it together is beyond me...now you have no answers to calm your nerves. Could they not have given you some incling as to what is going on? I can well understand how Norm must be feeling..he'd be so worried and seeing you upset would about make him want to slay the dragons!!! Hang on sweetie, perhaps they will call today and have answers..praying that will be so!!
LindaKay, I'll have hot chocolate, just finished my white chocolate and could have had 2...love marshmallows as well..thanks for the sweets!
Debbie, how very interesting about that camera proceedure, much less invasive...so how will you spend your day? could be sanding and painting your project black??? lol
Suse, I can virtually hear your glee and laughter in your post from all the goodies that Thea sent you
Dianne, I posted who received their Christmas pressies so far..am hoping Judy posts a photo shortly if not will ask LindaKay to post a photo of what she sent..always thrilled to see what friends receive...how is Santa Warren and Quill doing?? Thea got her kit yesterday, perhaps you will receive ours today.
Mary, wish I could give you a big old hug, it does my heart well to see how your family has matured this year..bet it only gets better...just love the photo's..what a gorgeous looking family you have, of course, look at their parents! will this be the last of your outings until after Christmas?
Laura, how are you doing? are you still handcuffed to your sewing machine? Your brother, has he results yet and is he behaving himself.
Bev, does the home Scotty is in have Christmas dinner whereby family can join their loved ones? Know you'd not want to take him home for Christmas because you would never get him back to the home..tell him I often think of him..I so enjoyed my time with both of you..am sure Debbie can attest to how I was thrilled to the bones after visiting and walking through your gardens.
Shirley, waving..thinking of you as well and the hardships you are going through. Perhaps at this time of year working 3 jobs and helping out with mom will take your mind off of everything at least for a few minutes!
Back to painting, have 12 candle holders almost done..7 for Suzanne and 5 for me..hoping they can all come home tonight..lol have them all lined up agains my office window doing step1/2/3 etc.
Meant to tell you all some great news I heard yesterday..
A group of people who work at the Super Jail in Penetang had the winning ticket of over 20 million dollars..a friend Janinne Dupuis (guess hubby Mark as well lol) were one of the recipients 1.7 million each got. One of the girls who works with Melanie's husband was doing the buying of the tickets, no money for a car, walked to work..e-mailed all participants and said 'here I sit with no money to order pizza for the kids tonight and I've a ticket for over 20 million dollars on my refrigerator door...how do you like that for a Merry Christmas
Betty, I can start the project. Question though. I want it to have the look like in your picture.....it looks stained. Do I still paint it black?
You know I am craft illitereate!
yes, all painted black, the antiqued look comes at the end of the project
Good Morning!!
OMG, so sorry to not post again...My fingers have been playing with thread, lol...But ahh, you shall all see the results soon!
Barbara, good gosh, so sorry your appt was set with wrong Doc. I think I would have cried right then and there. I sure hope thing do move along quick as can be...
Betty, Wow, you do have some serious patience...But I'm glad your mom went and you know, hard as it is, in time you will be glad too.
Mary, how FUN!! So glad your whirlwind weekend was wonderful!
How awesome to see you post Janice. Aww, Johnthan growing leaps and bounds. So glad you are taking it easy too,yep let the kids take over. It's Grandmas time to go play and relax...
Bev, Waiving, hi to you. I was so thrilled to see you DS is now engaged. Congratulations to you all!
Thea, lol I so can relate to letting your fingers rest, hahah, Thats what i'm doing at the moment...Time is of the essence for me right now, i want to get my mailings done at weeks end...Whew, don't know why i wit to last minute to do these things, ROFLOL, once a procrastinator, always a procrastinator!
Anyway, I feel good about where I am at the moment!! a few projects getting done, a little Christmas Decorating. We usually do this for Julia's Birthday weekend, but she herself has broke the Tradition! She and I decorated the Fire place on Sunday, my sister's Birthday. Man Sylvie, would have been 51, ackk...so old, lolol.
Yesterday I ate a susie q in honor of her birthday!
So, I am sorry about not posting photo's of my beautiful quilt. heavy sigh, not sure whats with this camera, took a few and well not so happy about the quality, so took a few more, still not so thrilled but wanted to show you...
